Dr Parlee took over Dr Kellie s patients, which I am one of. He has no bedside manner and felt belittled when speaking with him. He immediately went to prescribing a medicine without updated blood results weren t taken, as Dr Kellum allowed me to work on getting bloodwork numbers down. Run from Parlee, he needs to go to school to learn better dr patient skills

Really not sure how to review. I love DrRodgers. She s been my doctor for close to 2 decades. Shes considerate, knowledgable, and is great to talk to. I ve never had any problem with her that would keep me from rating 5 stars. HOWEVER, as others have mentioned, the support staff is a nightmare to interact with. You won t be notified when you need to come in for a med check, your prescription will just be denied by the pharmacy and you ll not be sure why. Then when you schedule an appt with the receptionist, they direct you to the nurses line for temporary refill. The man issue here is that Im not even sure the nurses ever pick up. Its always sent to voicemail. You leave a voicemail mid day and likely wont hear back for at least a day. I requested a refill after telling them I had an appointment scheduled, but called walmart the next day and they said they hadnt gotten any requests. Not surprised because this has happened before. Its a poor system that leaves patients scrambling for their meds last second. Dangerous and negligent.

If you would have asked me prior to this week, I would have said 5 stars all the way. I will not go into too much detail, but an issue with a prescription refill turned into a back and forth that soured me on the practice. Positives: Dr. Shirley Mathews and Dr. Mindy Ly (PCP) are absolutely amazing. Two of the best doctors I have ever had for gp care. Negatives: incompetent support staff, MAs who dont properly identify and read a situation in regard to medication, with extended time off, can create a detriment to the patient. I have made an informal request that I will changing my primary care, and once I have established with my new PC physician, will send a formal letter informing this office that they will no longer be my primary care office. Very sad. Please note: this is my personal experience, and the opinions/views expressed are mine only.

Unsupportive admin staff and incompetent nurses have ruined the Allen clinic. You can never reach the nurses for a refill, the patient portal has stopped working, and the receptionist at Allen talks rudely like shes doing you a favor. I had to leave 3 voice mails for Dr. Parlees nurse Anna just for a refill and even after that she provided the wrong prescription to the pharmacy. Now its Saturday and Im without a critical medication for 3 days. I called their weekend answering service to get the refill corrected and they want to charge me $100 for it. Ill be changing our PCP.

This was my 1st visit here and I am happy to say overall it was a good experience. Parking was convenient, I do think they should state they are in medical building 2 as that was confusing. The front staff from the minute I walked in were friendly and helpful to not only myself but others coming in. Plenty of seating, tablets given to fill out your paperwork which was nice and I was promptly called back for my visit. I had a number of things to discuss as I am starting with a new PCP. Dr Satyn was thorough and patient to listen to my concerns and addressed each. Would recommend.

I am not one to usually write reviews My husband and I have been giving our business to this office for 15 and 21 years. We used to see Dr Kellum and we always received yearly prescriptions and if they ran out as long as we made an appointment he would give us a refill after that. He retired and we were transferred to a new doctor. My husband failed to tell me he ran out of his Effexor so I called to make an appointment and get an emergency refill, even if it was just a few days. This is a anti-depressant and not a scheduled medication. It is life threatening to his mental health to just pull him off of it. I called and he called, we were told that we would need to schedule an appointment with a different doctor because our new doctor had a death in the family and would be out. I advised that my husband and I both needed to go over our health history and treatment in depth with our new physician and the front desk alluded that we would need to make double appointments instead of just giving him a week of refill on the medication. The last day he took it was Friday and he is suffering so much :( We we re told Friday that we would get a call back from the nurse after 2 calls and never did. This office does not take mental health as serious or life threatening. The pharmacy takes it more serious and apologized and said he would ve of written a 3 day prescription if the doctor hadn t of denied our refill request. I guess the pharmacist is more educated than the doctors at the practice on the importance of someone with fragile mental health. I am a nurse and am appalled that this office only cares about making the next dollar as so many other have said. It s so sad and a whole family is suffering because you couldn t refill one week of prescription until our new PCP, Dr Parlee, returned so we could just make a single appointment with him, no follow up with us as promised. Very disappointed . My husband has sobbed more times today than I have seen him in our 15 years together. This is awful and was uncalled for .at the very least you could have called back as promised.

This office, especially Dr. Sotya will gouge you for money. You can make an appointment for a yearly physical paid for by your insurance and they will purposefully charge you at least $300 for random tests. BEWARE. When you call the practice manager she will absolutely laugh and make fun of you. If I had recorded that conversation with her, she would have lost her job. It was so disrespectful. They will give you and email to send your concerns to and after you send the email outlining the issues, they will ignore it entirely. Good luck with this group, theyre hateful. More information, I just found out that after requesting a doctor in network they matched me with Dr. Nehi Sotya, who is NOT in my BCBS network. Beware, they will lie to you to get you to come in. Then when you have a question regarding all of this, they will give you an email address to send an email to. I sent an email May 11th. Im yet to get a reply. The office staff and Dr. Sotya DO NOT CARE about patients, they just want your money.

Called both my insurance and the doctors office billing over 20 times and still have not gotten anything resolved. I provided the correct info at the time of service so I m not sure why they are trying to bill me the full amount and on top of that they are trying to send me to collections. None of the supervisors have been helpful AT ALL. I will be putting in a complaint to DSHS for the way they are doing billing.

On two unrelated occassions, I discussed something with my Doctor, who gave me the green light on getting x, y or z tested; in both cases, he verbatim said it is a good idea to get that tested (given the symptoms). Then when I call to follow up, the nurse cut me off mid-sentence, dismissed me, & contradicted the Doctor (rudely you cant get x from yz, thats just not how that works) She was so quick to insert her opinion that she didnt even know the doctor already signed off on the testing & gave me the kits already I was asking about where to turn them in & related details & she was too busy belittling me -- its bizarre behavior. My parents have both received the same treatment from that individual, even when that nurse was clearly in the wrong (repeatedly sending their perscriptions to the wrong pharmacy). Its a stunning feeling & can wreck someones day.

I don t usually take the time to write reviews but this one is one that I could not keep to myself. Dr. Mindy Ly has been my PCP for a while now and I could not be more thankful for her and her medical assistant. They are so patient with me and never make me feel like an inconvenience or annoying. She has such a huge heart. I often send her messages through the patient portal and no matter how small or random my questions/concerns may be, she is always quick to respond. Her assistant is also very quick to keep patients updated with any labs, results, or communication from Dr. Ly. They truly do care about the well being of her patients. When I had to move to California for several months to be with my husband at his new duty station, I was so fearful of seeing someone new. With my medical issues, it s hard for me to trust other doctors. I had found one that was not the best and didn t take the time to understand my needs. I was able to still contact Mindy Ly to get the advice and guidance that I needed. Thankfully I am back in Texas and get to continue to be her patient. If you are looking for a Doctor and have a hard time trusting someone, please please contact Doctor Ly. I promise you will be deeply cared for, be a priority, and given the best guidance. I cannot express enough how much of a blessing she had been.

Everything was fine until it came to my ADA paperwork. I specifically made it clear that was the only reason for my visit and that I wished to be seen for checkups and so forth. I was seen on 7/09 by Dr. Satya, the only one who had an available appointment so quickly. She said I could have a tele-health appointment the next week to follow up so the paperwork could be done. While their we also talked about a lot of specialists that I need to see including an endocrinologist whom I stopped seeing because he refused to change my dose after my blood tests confirmed that I was being over-medicated. I just got a call today to CANCEL the tele-health appointment I had that was supposed to be in 21 min (11:45am) because she is refusing to do my ADA paperwork without having an endocrinologist that I can follow up with which is one of the reason I was looking for a new PCP. When I explained that I knew the paperwork could be done without having a specialist because it has been done before I even knew what my diagnoses was, I was told thats just what the doctor said. I wasnt here that day. I either needed to be seeing an endocrinologist for regular treatment and have a follow up appointment already made or she says she cant do it. So my ADA was due Friday 7/23 and it took her this long to say she just didnt want to fill it out. If not having picked out an endocrinologist was the issue, why wasnt that explained on 7/09 and why wasnt I told that day that I needed to have an appointment set up for her to consider doing my ADA paperwork? Ive left details out that I feel dont really matter as much but a little transparency goes a long way. I would not recommend this office to anyone, especially if you have a time line to meet.

I am not someone who enjoys visiting the doctor. I don t enjoy getting shots and having blood drawn and things like that. Who does? But of all the doctors I have been to throughout my life, this group of medical professionals is the best one I have ever experienced. Everyone is so genuinely kind, and they are consummate professionals. When it s time for bloodwork or to get a shot, it is never painful. If I need additional treatment of some sort, they spend as much time as I need so they can thoroughly explain what s going on, and they always give me a treatment plan that is comprehensive and helps me stay healthy. I have been to very kind doctors who weren t terribly competent in my life. And I have been to competent doctors who weren t terribly kind. My doctor is Dr. Mindy Ly, and she is both very competent and one of the kindest people I have ever met. Every doctor hear that I have ever encountered is the same. If anyone is looking for a new doctor and building a good personal as well as professional relationship is important to you, and if you want the most competent doctors available, it would be impossible to find a better medical practice. I spoke to the office manager about the issue and she was keep telling me that there is no way someone would have said that which made me feel like she was accusing me as if I was lying. I found out the doctor had decided to put the different code for annual routine physical without my acknowledgement-put the Primary diagnosis as vitamin D deficiency instead of Routine Physical and we didn t even talk about vitamin D that day! POOR COMMUNICATIONAND UNFRIENDLY. I had an appointment with doctor Kevin Joiner for this morning and was running behind by 5 min. I called the office 15 mn before the appt. Out of courtesy The person who took my call even ask me my birthdate and said no worries as long as youre not 15 minutes late. I got there 5 minutes after my appointment time and all of a sudden they couldnt find my appointment. Over all what I have found is the office manager and the woman of color receptionist did not assist me in a proper way they ask a ton of questions which can aggravate a patient or a customer. They should have put their problem solving hat on and said let me see what I can do for you in order to make my experience a great experience especially since I was a first time new patient. I felt like I was singled out, it was embarrassing in front of a waiting Room full of patients and I even explained that I was courteous enough to call that I was running behind. Also the manager said let me check and see what I can do for you after about 15 minutes of questions and I felt like I was being interrogated. While the manager was away the woman of color receptionist lady was on the phone making personal calls and she made her calls for about 10 minutes. This is not a very professional office its actually poor. I would not recommend even going to this office for the 1st time as a new patient because 1st impressions are everything. I am a department store manager and I know how important it is for great service. Perhaps the doctors have too much business and are not really taking care of people as they should. They are the bosses and they run the office . All in all my perception is real and if there was an issue with the appointment, human nature someone didnt put it in the way they should have, their goal is to make sure that I am accommodated . Instead I was treated as if I was doing something wrong. Not professional.

October 11, 2018 Family Healthcare Associates 1105 Central Expressway North, Ste. 2120 Allen, TX 75013 To Whom It May Concern: 0n October the 8th, I came to your office around 4:10 PM, which was the time of my appointment, to get help with a cold/flu that was getting worse. But, your staff negated me your medical service as soon as they heard I am registered with Medicare. I didn t think much of it since I was planning to pay out of my own pocket. I told your staff, three times, to forget I have Medicare, since I was going to pay for whatever the charges would be, and to treat me as a new patient if it helped but, they refused. Being that I asked your staff three times to see the doctor and they refused on the basis I have Medicare, my conclusion is that I m stuck and limited on my Health Care options. Is that the way Medicare is set up, where no one can get medical services unless it s using Medicare only or first; even though, some patients are willing to pay out of pocket for whatever the charges would be? If so, something is very wrong with that system. I haven t contacted Medicare on this yet, since I rather wait for your answer first; I hope to believe, there was a big and grave misunderstanding on the part of your staff. As for my cold, I m getting better but, slowly and thanks to some OTC medication I picked up from a pharmacy. That is why I tried to see you then because, I thought I was getting bronchitis. Sincerely, A. E. =================================================== 12/13/2018 1. NO ONE HAS RESPONDED YET. 2. I have been a patient of Joyner for more than 2 years now, very unfortunately hes office and staff are the worst. Being a primary care doctor its his responsibility to make sure that he meets with his patients promptly and attend to their needs. That was not the case for me for some needs these past several months, but now it has become inexplicably terrible that, I was running a fever for the past 10 days for which I have been to an ER as well. I was supposed to meet with Joyner as my fever would not go with other conditions. I tried to call for an appointment on Oct-9 evening, and the lady at the front desk told me that, al slots are booked and if I call at 8AM on 10-oct, there will be 2 slots which will open. I promptly called at 8 AM, i was the first caller as well, and when I tried to book the slot as she promised me, she told me that there are no open slots. So I explained to her my situation and also reminded her of the call yesterday day, then she said that Joyners assistant has booked those slots. So there is a backdoor policy that exists at Dr Joyners office?? what a pathetic situation, when there are patients that are in disparate need to see a doctor, for a case of 10 days of fever, Joyner and his staff does not have no empathy over their patents needs!!! If you really need to care for your health please stay away from this office, they dont care patients needs. By the way this is the first time i am writing a comment in my life, so you can imagine how truthful I have put it in here. Please stay away from this place!!!!

I was looking for a family practice so I have the flexibility to get an appointment in case the primary care physician is not available and on a short notice. Prior to this, I used to go to Family Practice @ Baylor Medical Center Garland and was extremely happy. Since we moved to Allen had to find something close to home. I am highly disappointed with there service. Its really hard to get an appointment as all the Doctors are always booked. I cannot forecast when I will be sick. I called in to get an appointment as I had flu and was told no one is available till next week. No urgent appointment nothing. I was being told to go to urgent care if I cannot wait till next week. Seems like they never stop accepting new patients. They have multiple branches in metroplex and I am sure its bring run to generate as much revenue as possible. I will not recommend this to anyone. Avoid them as much as you can.

This practice is a TRUE family practice and our family of 4 has definitely put them to the test! I personally have seen Dr Kellum, as my primary, for years and Dr Burchard is my tried and true back-up whenever Dr K is not available. I trust Dr Kellum and Dr Burchard very much and our 2 boys like them too. It is nice to find a practice that has great doctors and secondary doctor that can usually get you in the same day if your primary Dr is not available. I personally have seen Dr Kapler once and did not have the best of experiences so I stay clear of her, but other than that I am a faithful patient and the fact that the Richardson office has after hours that we can go to on nights and weekends is a BIG plus!

Awful Dr. practice. After searching for local Dr. after we move to McKinney. We decided for this place because it is really close to home. I schedule a physical for my daughter and they assigned Dr. Julie Kappler (she is new to the practice) she did a routing physical on my daughter. After a month later I get a bill on the mail from them. I called my insurance company (blue cross blue shield) and they told me they have denied the claim because the benefit plan does not cover services for the condition that was indicated on that claim; they explain that Dr. listed the reason of the visit was overweight. They told me that I can dispute the claim but this means that it will go back to the Dr. and she will have to correct/change the reason. After many months of going back and forward with the front desk staff, their billing department, their nurses and everyone else they told me I need to contact about my claim. The Dr. finally decided to called me and tells me that their files show that my daughter is overweight and that was the reason of my visit. I explain to her that I was sorry not understand all the procedures that Dr. should do when you request on your 1st visit a physical. But that I was very clear with the front desk that I wanted a physical for my daughter. Dr. Kappler was very rude and told me that there was nothing she could do since it s not her fault that my insurance company does not cover overweight visits. Now I have to pay a bill because they treat people like a number and never took the time to ask.
