Had to waste 45 minutes because of a appointment so I stopped in this place not knowing it was a bar till AFTER I stopped . ( nothing wrong with a bar I just didn t expect it to be a bar). A friend suggested this place and I was apprehensive because I have dietary limitations. The head of the kitchen came out and talked to me, helped me build a dish that fit what I needed, and it was absolutely delicious. Spicy and well seasoned and vibrantly fresh. The waitstaff were attentive and very sweet. The atmosphere was inviting, the music was fun but not too loud. I wish there was more parking, but that s a problem everywhere in Abilene.

We went to visit the new location on Judge Ely since My son was in from Illinois. Now we know they still have to work out the small kinks here & there but we were disappointed by our waitress, she kept rushing us on our drinks, we d be half way & she was ready to take pick up our glasses half way through. I ordered sautéed veggies with my meal & was very distthat they were acutaully a vegetable medley that you get in a bag with the carrots, Cauliflower & Broccoli.. Over all food was good but they need to work on waitstaff & not mislead with what s actually on the menu..

I was taken care of by Kaylee and Amanda and they are fantastic. I was a 1 top and Kaylee didn t throw me to the side for her bigger tables, she took care of me like I was a friend of hers. Food was fantastic and the beer was frosty! I ll be back to see them soon!

Ive given this place 4 chances before deciding to write a review. Every time Ive been...the food is never hot when brought to the table. Maybe a tad warm. But today Jan. 10,2024. I ordered the hamburger steak and it tasted weird. The last time I went I ordered the same thing. And I know I said the food was cold but it had a good taste!!! Sorry, but I wouldnt recommend going here unless your gonna just go for a beer. And this is just a review on the food. The staff is always friendly and always on the ball about checking if you need refills.

Sara was our server. She was great. We had the wings and chicken fried chicken. And had 4 or 5 drinks each. All totaling less than $100+tip. Great place to get drinks and a bite to eat. Also, skip the bacon jalapeño ranch wings and get a different flavor.

My husband and have tried to like this place. We have gone at least 6 times. Great happy hour but each time we have gone we have witnessed poor behaviors by management and employees. The first time the manager was pretty much flirting with the female staff instead of taking care of the customers on a very busy day. The second time we watched an recent off duty employee sitting at the bar and she was very intoxicated and the manager talked her a few times,yet she kept getting served alcohol. There were two more times where we saw 2 managers on duty and again both were playing around with staff and one staff member continued to shoot a nerf gun at the bartender and she in turn kept dropping the f-bomb loudly and managers laughed and did nothing. Luckily nothing hit a customer. The last time our menus were covered in food and sticky stuff. There are plenty of employees standing around and hanging with managers, they should be wiping down the menus. Food is ok. Typical bar food. It seems they are busy enough so need to act professional and proper.

Ive been to Blu Barrel on a few occasions and it consistently has good drinks and good food. This visit we were wanting to get out of the house on a Tuesday night and after a couple stops at another notable restaurant where we were ignored when we walked in the door. So we decided to swing by Blu Barrel, glad we did. We had the cheese curds and quick drink. Prices are reasonable and service was very friendly. Will definitely be back.

I think we found a local hangout and really enjoyed it. We ordered cheese curds (they were ok, sauce was good), mushroom Swiss burger (great taste), fries were yummy yummy, hamburger steak (very good) and my 9 yr old had a cheeseburger. Yum. We were there in a Wednesday night and the parking lot was packed. We got in right away and served right away. The ticket shocked me. We ordered a large blue moon ($4.25) and the regular shiner ($2.75). Wow!! We will be back again!

Blu Barrel has become one of our favorite lunch spots. Service is always great, and its never too busy when we go, so conversation is very easy, while still being able to enjoy sports on the TV, or even the music playing in the background. Kid-friendliness: Weve taken our kids a few times and never had issues. The outdoor patio is a great option that lets them play and be a little louder once theyre done eating.

Decided to stop by around 5pm due to several recommendations from friends. The restaurant is a take on Hooters through the lens of viciously cut jean shorts and doodle pad-esque tattoos on the staff. Ordered a simple order. Country fried chicken, no gravy. And a calamari appetizer For the $10 I spent I got 5 pieces of calamari. And the chicken had extra gravy on it. Im not lookin for a superhuman to make my food, but come on.

Food is good. Weve been twice this week while visiting from Colorado. The steak tacos were great for the price..5 tacos and good taste but just a little too salty. The jalepno poppers were delicious. Burger was also good. And onion rings great. We will be back.

Nice atmosphere, friendly waitstaff, but beer is warm. This seems to be a common problem. I dont know why they cant ice down beer, or do whatever it takes to keep from serving customers hot beer

Enjoyed coming here. Got into town late and there wasn t much open. I saw the reviews and called to verify the kitchen was still open. Kitchen stays open till 11. Music was a little loud at first but they adjusted it and put the game on for us. Would definitely recommend checking it out. Got the wings this time and they had great flavor. Next time have to try their burger.

What a great experience. We walked into the comfortable dining area. It was busy but still seating available. We got the Grilled Chicken sandwich. Hot and quick with nice pico and bacon. They were tasty and the fries were excellent also. Our server was new but was very attentive and helpful. It was also good to see the managers helping out. A lot. We will return so we can try other items on the menu.
