This place is a small restaurant with amazing food! It s my go to place for Korean food in the Dallas area. The hot bibimbap is my favorite, it has the perfect veggies and meat to rice ratio! The fried dumplings, tteokbokki, and japchae are my go to appetizers. They re super flavorful and the trombone sauce goes great with the bibimbap. We always end up getting 2 orders of galbi as well because it s so good! There s a variety of side dishes and the kimchi is the perfect spicy to go with any of the dishes. 10/10 would recommend!!

Best food ever. We went on a Saturday night at 8pm and ordered two bentonite boxes. The meat in both were ridiculously life changing! I think this is the best restaurant in Allen! Even the kids liked it. The ladies running it were super nice and kept checking on us and talked to my seven year old. Very friendly!

This restaurant was not service animal friendly. I ve eaten here a few times before and their food is usually fine but when I went to dine in with friends today they told us we could not dine in and that dogs were not allowed even though the service dog had a harness with SERVICE DOG in large letters on the harness. We ended up leaving without a fuss but they should really review the laws surrounding service animals.

I have dined in and ordered takeout from Dawon, and Ive enjoyed my visit both times. I ordered Ttobbokki with noodles, LA Galbi, and bulgogi. The items were quite tasty. The bulgogi was a takeout order, and it came with Banchan and nice, big lettuce leaves. It was all tasty. The atmosphere is not fancy by any means, but its functional and comfortable. The service was nice. At least I had a good time chatting with the lady at the front desk. She checked on us quite often to see if we were comfortable. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here and will be back again

This place is very Korean and authentic. I love the food here, its so good, delicious, and nutritious. For those of you who dont know, when you are ready to order, you have to go up to the counter to order. Utensils and stuff is located on the side. Love the music, very calming and chill. I can come here and do homework and just hang out and relax. I love coming here after I go to the Korean spa called King Spa. The food here is better than the food at King Spa. The people here are really nice and accommodating. They are also patient, so if you dont know what to do, they can guide you. <3 I love Korean food, its so good for you!

Love the lack of single use plastics if you dine in! Everything except some Styrofoam cups and straws are reusable. Food was pretty good. I enjoyed my spicy pork bento and my accomplice liked their katsu (super crispy !). I really like the bentos; they are the perfect portion size. Only thing I didnt like so much was the banchan. They were slightly bland and old tasting. We did come in pretty late, so mightve gotten the days end of banchan.

Best tdokbokee around. Fully loaded with incredible flavor. The beef dolsot bibimbap is also fantastic. Bento here is the best takeout option for a variety of flavors. The service is sweet and professional, the atmosphere is laid back. Everything is clean. Dawon is the best Korean spot in the Allen/McKinney area hands down.

Wow, the cold noodles are really delicious!! I went because I wanted to eat bibim cold noodles, but this is the first time in my life that cold noodles were so tasteless. Why on earth do you put so much pepper powder in cold noodles? Even the kimchi stinks. This is a Korean restaurant I never want to go to again.

The kimchi soup brought me back to my godmother s kimchi stew that she would make me because she knew it was my favorite: The mackerel with all the delicious side dishes (perfectly marinated sweet and salty potatoes, kimchi, cucumber kimchi, omelette, rice cakes) made me feel like I was sitting at my mom s table during a visit to Korea - pure homemade love. All this to say Dawon tastes like home and is delicious. Thank you for making delicious food!

This is place which has food with lots of flavor and freshness. My sons and wife loved it. Come over here for authentic Korean flavors. They do have Japanese dishes but we loved Korean dishes more, specifically Bibimbab. Kimchi was awesome and they give more on request. Loved it. Ps. First time here, we decided to give it a try for dinner. When you walk in, you order at the counter and you have a ticket number on your receipt. The food is delivered to you at your table. The service is friendly. There isnt a lot of seating, but they seem to do most of their business as a take-out or pick-up place. The place does get hot from the kitchen so some people might find this uncomfortable. On the evening we ate here, there was a table of 7 and table of 2 and our table of 3. By the time we left almost 2.5 hours later, there were a couple more tables of 3-4 people per table. The very young cook, seemingly working the kitchen solo on the day we went, is perhaps not very proficient with multitasking. We saw a table of 7 people get each individual meal brought out for each person with about a 20 minute delay between each meal delivered to the table. Our table of three meals came out with a delayed split as well. Our appetizer came out one hour after we ordered then two meals came out 25 minutes after that and the last dish came out 15 minutes after that. While the food was good and the portions were decent, the time it took for our meals to come out was not great. We can see why there is alot of pick-up meals instead. Im sure this contributes some to the reason for the eat in delays but this would be a reason for us to not come back, unfortunately.

Had wondered about this restaurant for several years, had always wanted to try it out but could not commit. So last night I ordered a bento box with BBQ pork and must say I was pleasantly surprised. First the food was prepared in 15 minutes, I picked it up and came home to eat it. When I opened it up it was a huge meal, had the pork, nicely steamed rice, marinated cucumbers, an egg side, potato s, kimchi and a couple other items. Could not eat it all even though I wanted to, the food was fabulous and I will now be a regular! If you haven t tried it, I highly recommend!

Yummy!! We were hesitant when we saw the location but decided to give it a shot and so glad we did!! It was so yummy and the woman at the front was so nice and answered our questions with lots of patience. She checked up on us multiple times to make sure we were enjoying our food. You also get lots of food! the meal I got was enough to fill me up for dinner and lunch the next day. It was great. Can t wait to go back.

I only ordered a soon tofu jjigae for takeout. The lady that gave me the order was friendly and attentive. I could tell that order was prepared with love and care. There were 4 small pieces of scallion pancake carefully placed in the banchan box along with kimchi, fish cake and a small broccoli salad. Soup itself smells heavenly, with big chunk of tofu, an egg and some meat. It quickly fills up my crave for a warm tofu jjigae and I m glad I went there to try. The whole experience makes me feel like I was being fed by my mom at home.

This was definitely a fun experience! We ordered a lot because we were excited to try everything. Our least favorite was the #9 appetizer Haemool Pajeon the oysters in it were gritty. Appetizer #1 & #2 (Dumplings) were very good. The chicken bento box (#4) was good. It tasted like a sweet BBQ dry rub. The #20 Yook Gae Jang was good, it was both Spicy and sour. And the #16 Soon Tofu Jjigea was definitely an experience of its own. I personally enjoyed it, but if youre picky about textures than this is probably not the best option due to it being very soft/slimy. Vegetarian options: Tofu options

Its a self served restaurant so be prepared to order at the cashier and get your drink by your self. They still asking for the tip so its a bit funny for me :)). The food was so so. Ive tried korean bulgogi in over 20 states and this place has the worst. The beef looks like just taken from the frozen with the weird pale pink color instead of the normal dark brown red. Dawon serves up the most amazing, comforting, authentic Korean food in the Allen area, and their bento options are my absolute favorites! When I previously worked in Allen, this was the place Id go for lunch. They have these bento boxes that were filling, delicious, and worth the cost! Each bento usually lasts me for lunch and dinner, which isnt bad considering they were only $12 (prices probably went up now). I always get the bulgogi bento. It came with rice, bulgogi, banchan (cucumber, kimchi, cabbage, fish cakes), and fried egg, making these bentos super colorful!! My boyfriend asked to change some side dishes because he doesn t like zucchini & kimchi and the owner was super accommodating. I only dined in once after they reopened their dining area but its a very cute space. The restaurant is a little dark, and they use disposable utensils. There are 6-8 tables but most people order the food to go anyways. The couple is very friendly and I just love all my experiences here!

Called at 8pm to ask about being able to bring in our own alcohol for dinner. They said yes so I hung up and got myself and Girlfriend ready to leave. About 7 or 8 minutes later I received a call back asking if it was for dine in the following day. I informed her it was for tonight. She said that the owner said only take out left for tonight. It was 8:20pm and we live in the neighborhood behind them only 2 minutes drive. I was told no can t come tonight, I asked if their kitchen closes east or something? She said no it doesn t close early but they close at 9pm. Which we were familiar with and planned on being there by 8:25 latest, not everyone eats at 6pm in the evening. So I suggest if your plan on going there do not show up anywhere near the last hour of business or you will be turned away! 1 of my favorite local spots just lost points in my book! 9pm Close means 9pm Close not be in by 8pm or else

We went for a late dinner about 30 min until close. We asked if they minded us staying a couple minutes after or if we needed to pack up and finish at home. They told us to finish eating not to worry about the time. Basically: Food comes out quick, kind staff, great service, and DELICIOUS food! Highly highly recommend. Delicious! We were looking for some good Korean food in McKinney/Allen and came across this place. We picked up our order and ate at home. Everything was very well packaged, the portions were large, and the food was flavorful! The Bulgogi came with lots of fun Banchan. Some of the Banchan items: Kimchi, green onion pancake, slaw, potatoes, spicy cucumbers. We also tried the Tdokboki it was also great! def opt for the cheese and ramen. The portions are huge and perfect to share. Give this place a try!

We just moved to the area and were thrilled to discover this great korean restaurant tucked away in east Allen! Dawon is delicious, reasonably priced, and serves great portions! We highly recommend the bentos, namely the Galbee bento. They were arranged beautifully and every side dish was a hit with us (and the galbee too, of course)!

We decided to try this place after recently moving to the area. At the time, I was a little sad about losing convenient access to some of my favorite Korean places in Carrollton. My fiance got the Teriyaki Beef, and I got an order of the Stir Fried Pork and Kimchi (which is one of my favorite dishes). Everything was amazing. I had to stop myself from overeating on my Pork, as the normal portion with rice is enough for a dinner and a next day lunch. My fiance said the Teriyaki beef was amazingly tender and super delicious. We honestly werent expecting that level of quality to the food, so we were pleasantly surprised. The sides were delicious, too, and there was a nice variety to them as well. Overall, it was a little pricey, otherwise wed probably be eating it once a week if I had my way, but it was definitely delicious, and we absolutely plan to order again.

Ordered dinner portion of kalbi and some soup Togo. It was ready so quick. (I live 8 mins from their location so that s a bonus) but It s like my moms cooking and it was delicious!! I strongly recommend this restaurant to all who want to try Korean food for the first time! A home-like environment and dishes to blow your mind! As soon as we went in, we were welcomed with big smiles. The staff (that I wish was my third grandmother) explained everything well in case we would not understand the different Korean dishes, and often checked up on us to make sure we liked it, refill our drinks, etc. She knew we were trying different dishes and was ready with a box once were done and full (and satisfied). The food was delicious and I found myself eating vegetables even tho I have never been a been a big fan of greens. I discovered new tastes and rediscovered tastes of my home country, which was very refreshing. All I needed was a glass of water and the food that was there. I will definitely be back for the delicious dishes!

Excellent service and food was delicious. Staff was really helpful. She not only recommended different sizes, but also went out of her way to create a combined dish from two similar items we wanted on the menu and so we were able to get the best of both worlds. She knew that ordering both would be too much food for us. Instead of thinking just about her profits, she thought of a way for us to get what we wanted. Customer satisfaction was more important to her, which I think is awesome! Had , , , , , . Everything was delicious!

I thought this place was great, from the food to the service. Our server was very helpful and patient in explaining and recommending some of the dishes from the menu. I got the bibimbap (I wont lie, mainly because it was the cheapest entree on the menu) and it was absolutely delicious, and it was surprisingly large for the price. Ill definitely be coming back here.
