One of the best Philly cheese steak places I found in Texas in my area. Ive seen a lot of places that put their own stand on Philly cheesesteak but I just like it to be original with all the options that you come to love. If I want it authentic Philly this is where Im going, no need to reinvent the wheel when youve had the original in Philly and youve found it in Texas.

Called last night 10 min before closing, super hungry and needed something quick asked if they could make a sandwich to go. Scott and his staff are what a lot of local and national chains should strive for. Absolutely the best in customer service and professional hospitality. Visited freds for lunch since i was craving some philly cheesesteak. I went for the classic cheesesteak, must say I was impressed with the quality of the food. It was tasty. Service was quick and cost was nominal. Being from around Philly, i have had plenty of cheesesteaks to know the taste, it was definitely nostalgic to have it here. Also i love to support local businesses. I recommend everyone to definitely try it once.

Restaurant in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Order at the counter and pickup order when ready. We had #2 and a #4. Both were very tasty. Staff was very helpful answering questions for us first time customers. Restaurant could do with a little tidying up. Recommend it.

Okay, been driving past this place for a few months, and decided to try it today. People were super friendly. And I have to admit it, after eating my first cheese steak from the place, I feel like George Steinbrenner in the Seinfeld episodes about the Calzone. I AM HOOKED! The restaurant was clean and inviting! The owner was super hospitable! I ordered the mushroom philly with onions, bell peppers, whiz cheese, and pav cheese. It was delicious!!!! The bread was soft. If you have never been here its a must. We have been going to Freds for years starting at the Plano location and nothing else compares. The meat is cooked to perfection the bread is never too hard. The Cajun fries are a must and you can never get enough of Freds personality and his family. Im pretty sure they have seen all our kids grow up. Top notch! Thanks Fred. I dont know if theres a right way to do Philly cheese steaks, but these were yummy. We got the mushroom Philly with cheese and onions. Its all good and juicy, the bread was soft, and the staff was friendly. The fried pickles were thick and left a slightly spicy aftertaste (probably just black pepper, Im sensitive), but there are only 10 in a whole order! That surprised me. Well go back.

Ive had them before, very good cheesesteaks. I really enjoy their food and was super excited to eat there today. I called the store to order ahead, no answer. I check their hours, says they re open online! I wanted to order ahead so I ordered through Uber Eats and it let me order, so I continued driving there. When i get there about 10 minutes later, they have a sign on the door that says they re closed. I was very disappointed because i was looking forward to it

Every once in awhile, as an adult, you get that experience of eating something that transports you back to your childhood. Fred s Downtown Philly in Allen was that experience for my husband. He was born and raised in Philly, and for years in FL, and for 2 years in TX, he has searched for the perfect cheesesteak. Folks, this is it! From the first bite to the last, the authentic amoroso rolls are so pillowy soft and with the absolutely delicious meat and cheese, you will fall in love, too! Having the REAL amoroso rolls speaks volumes about food quality. Fries were perfect as well. Try their special house sauce for a special kick! Fantastic food and service! We will be back, again and again!

What a hidden gem! My wife and I found this by accident. Went at lunch time, it was busy, only a few tables left. Ordered a sub, it was juicy, excellent flavor. I always get the 6 inch #2 cheesesteak with cheese and onions. Add a small fries and small drink and you have plenty to eat for just over $10. Sandwich is great and the fries are made to order and served hot. Friendly service as well. This meal is about $6 cheaper than the closest cheesesteak place.

First time coming here and the food was fresh and delicious. My kids want to come back again. They have real cane sugar sodas which is hard to find in restaurants nowadays. I usually go to Tonys. Not because I had a preference, but because we stumbled upon it and didnt find out about Freds until months later. Tonight we pulled up to Tonys but they had closed early for Valentines. I was about to go home until I remembered that Freds was somewhere close and realized it was across the street. I had no idea they were about to close at 8pm. I assumed it would close at 9 pm. If I had none this at 7:52, I would have gone somewhere else. Some places dont do well with service or food when its close to closing. It took us a little long to order because we had never been there before. We ordered 3 #7s with lettuce and tomatoes and we asked for provolone cheese. 1 of the 3 was a 10 inch. The others were 6 inch. We get all the way home to Princeton and hated that we didnt check the order. I figured with having the exact same thing on all sandwiches there was no room for mistakes. We were wrong. If there was provolone it was a speck because the entire sandwich was a wet orange color. None of the sandwiches had lettuce or tomatoes. The bread was super wet and soggy which I dont know... May be a Philly thing. Neither of my kids are able to eat meat sandwiches without getting quesy which is why we add veggies to our sandwiches, so 2 people didnt even have a meal. The last thing is all our sandwiches were the same size. We ordered 2 six inch and 1 ten inch. But they definitely were all 6 inches. Hubby, son and daughter didnt like the fries, but they were OK to me. From them I heard, tasted old, tasted like old water and no flavor. I did taste the sauce and thought it had a nice unique taste and flavor. If there were veggies on the sandwich and I would have been able to eat it I think the sauce would have been a nice addition. Not sure if Ill be back if Tonys is open.

Always a perfect experience. Super-friendly staff, everything is clean, and the sandwiches are incredible no matter what you fancy. There are about 20 types to choose from, including chicken and sausage options, and you can customize anything! They make it right there on the spot for you, so fresh is an understatement. One of the Best Freds Downtown Philly in the metroplex. If your really hungry, step up and battle the Liberty Bell! I tried and failed!!!! There is even photographic evidence on the walls of the restaurant of all who have failed and the few that have triumphed! #4 Large is my go to and gives a real taste of Philly here in Texas!

My first time here, I got the biggest sandwich on the menu. In my opinion, if you have a great sandwich, even nearly a pound of extra meat isnt going to take away its greatness. It did not disappoint. I have had multiple sandwiches now including the chicken and all options selected have been superb. There is even a house sauce that pairs very well with any sandwich Ive had here. I am hooked, and I highly recommend.

I went on a mission to find the BEST of the BEST in Philly cheese steaks locally in Allen and surrounding citys. The Allen location is the absolute winner. Customer service=100%, the owner and employees go above and beyond to make you a sandwich that isnt just a meal, but an experience. Quality of bread and ingredients= 100% Always fresh, hot and comforting. If you order a sandwich you know what youre going to get if youve ordered it before. There are a plethora of sandwiches, burgers fries and sides to choose from and every single thing Ive tried so far has been delicious. Im currently working my way down the menu and going to order every item Freds in Allen tx offers. I will update this after Ive eaten every sandwich they offer.
