Service was great, but the food was really disappointing. I ordered the moist brisket but received some of the most dry brisket I ve ever tried. The pork rib were also as dry and cold. They also gave me the end of the rib which was like jerky. I felt it was almost a scam from how expensive it is and the quality of food I ve received.

Me and the hubby are here for a warhammer 40k tournament. He spent days looking up bbq places for us to try and id like to know why the hell did this not come up in his research? This place is so good. I walked in and told the person at the register that Ive never been here. She told me what she gets then told me to lets the bbq guys know Im new.... they gave me samples! The brisket is melt in your mouth. Tender does not describe it. Creamy dreamy works but you still cew it. Though Im pretty sure person with no teeth could eat this and they cry from happiness. the turkey he gave me was the best turkey ever. So what did I order? The smoked potato with 2 meats (brisket and turkey) banana pudding and a glass bottle coke. Oh and they have perfectly chilled glass bottle soda and beer. Come here. Its amazing

This is by far the best deal in town. The food is great. Ive had the ribs and the brisket. Can you come in and grab a bottle to drink if you like. If not you can get a fountain drink. The sides are in the cooler. Go to the counter and order your fresh cut meat. Seat yourself. Condiments and fixins are self-serve. Barbecue sauce hot or sissy is on the table. Ive gone by myself and with my son and his family. Theres something for everyone it is just great.

What an absolutely terrible Rudys. First time being to this location and stay away. Service is Terrible we were the only one in line one person in the drive thru and we were told will get with you in a minute. 4 people just walking around doing nothing. The Hispanic guy was doing a bowl for another guy, the man came up and asked politely if he could be the cheese on the eggs. The guy sounded so put out. The eggs were dripping water everywhere. I come from Round Rock the Rudys down there are amazing. Ive never seen a worse group of employees. This was my favorite place to get breakfast. Steer far from here.

This past Saturday, my family and I decided to stop by Rudy s barbecue and get something to eat after my son s peewee football game. We look at the menu and decide what we wanted. My wife got the brisket sandwich which was kind of chewy wasn t as tender as I ve had before. My seven-year-old gets the pulled pork and he really enjoyed it. I couldn t quite make up my mind, but I settled on a baked potato with two meats on it, usually if I go to a really good barbecue place the baked potato is cooked to where if you choose to you could eat the entire thing. Skins and all. I unwrapped my baked potato from the foil, and the outside of the potato is just burnt. There s no way that you could eat the skin of the potato. But some people don t, I get that, but to me it was overly done. I get the chop beef and the jalapeño sausage to go on top of it. The sausage wasn t very spicy at all. You could barely tell it was jalapeño, but the beef that was on it was was OK. It had a good flavor. It had a good lean meat to fat ratio. It wasn t overly fat wasn t overly lean so I didn t mind it. It was good. My wife got this side that I ve never never had before. It was the green chili stew. It was OK wasn t horrible. Wasn t good. It was just meh. Now here s the real kicker for me. After I ate, my wife and I decided to to split a dessert. We decided on the peach cobbler and ice cream and I go up to the counter. I ordered, the guy waited until I put my card in paid for it, it asked me for a tip a tip on a Three dollar 50 Cent of cobbler. And for a dollar more you get a little bluebell individual serving of vanilla ice cream. What got me was the guy waited until I put a tip or not . He did a double take of the screen. It appeared that he looked at if I gave a tip or not. Because afterwards his demeanor did a 360. He walked over scooped the cobbler into the cup. Slapped it on the counter and said ice creams over there. (For me to get myself) He left my credit card still in the machine after I handed it to him, didn t say anything and then walked away. I m not in this area that often, but if I all (with the attitude I was given the second time) it might not be on the cards to make a second visit. Was he in a bad mood already? Was he mad he didn t get a tip on a $4 scoop of cobbler? Who knows. Maybe your visit will be different.

The food is consistently good. The green chili stew is a good enough reason to go so imagine how the rest is. It does not hurt that it is very close to the house. Thank you Rudys. First, let me explain that I rarely eat Barbecue and have felt for some time that I should become a vegetarian or at least a pescaterian (fish). Rudys, thank you for helping me make that transition. Thirty-Eight dollars for 4 small ribs, 4 pieces of fat filled brisket with some potato salad? Really? Even with inflation this is exorbitant. The meal was barely adequate and the greasy, fat brisket was disgusting and for $38! To make matters worse, the Barbecue sauce is in bottles that dispenses one drop at a time and the key to good Barbecue is the sauce. Even napkins are given out sparingly and are hidden behind a wall in a small dispensing machine. Stingy with the food, stingy with the sauce, stingy with the napkins, everything about this place is cheap except the price. I remember pre-Covid when Rudys was a great place to go for delicious Barbecue at a reasonable price. Not anymore. And yes, I have been told that the price of beef has skyrocketed but guess I had to learn for myself. I will not be eating Barbecue at Rudys or anywhere else again. So do yourself a favor. If you just cant live without your barbecue at least look elsewhere. This place will be a great disappointment to you.

Ufffff! One of those places that stay in your memories for a long time. The flavor of their brisket is excellent!! Their corn cream is also top notch, you cant go without trying it. The atmosphere is distinctly Texan, it creates an atmosphere of those you see in the movies. It is very worth it, you must visit it!

Wow that was some amazing bbq. I ordered the pork sandwich, and coleslaw. Coleslaw was really tasty as was the pork sandwich. My husband tried the brisket. He said it wasn t dry and definitely approved. The staff here is super friendly. Manager even stopped by our table to ask how everything was. Restaurant is very clean. Loved the dining room. Definitely had bbq vibes. We will definitely be back.

What a huge disappointment this Rudys was. I stop at these often when I am traveling, so I know what to expect and what I like. They had a new sausage - Jalapeno Cheddar -that sounded interesting, but was a weird consistency. I asked for my lean beef to be thin sliced, and after having to ask twice, I gave up. I order lean, and this was so thick it was inedible, and a strange color with no flavor. The new potatoes were raw - hardly cooked at all. You all can do better!

Some of the friendliest people ever to go with a very clean and well laid out space. I live in this area and have a lot of choices when it comes to BBQ, this one will no longer be on my list. The food was very average - the sausage was just ok and the brisket was dry and very average in flavor - and dare I say a tad over priced. I wish it was better because everything else about this place is top notch, from the drink selection to the help yourself condiment bar and just great atmosphere.

I ducked into Rudys when I needed some barbecue quickly. The line at the drive-thru was short. But to my dismay, they have no intercom. So it took longer than I hoped. The food was okay, but I promised Hutchins, which it was not. Thats what procrastination gets you! Id go back if I found myself in a similar pinch. But Ill go inside next time.

Our 1st Texas anything bbq. Nearby the hotels. Clean tables. Friendly staff. Enclosed patio. Brisket moist is hefty, tender and smokey. Baby back ribs were okay. Bread (white or wheat) are included, just tell them how many slices. Corn on the cob is the whole corn, no butter. No dairy in the meat too! Side bar has pickles, jalapenos and such. Water cups available at the drink bar.

My husband stopped here on 3/20/24 and they were out of pork ribs so instead of leaving he decided to try the babyback ribs and they were horrible. How do you send out DRY, HARD ribs when your customer has spent $43 on 2 lbs of ribs? This is ridiculous, disappointing andwe won t be going back.

9.5 out of 10 great price point for serving size. Down home ambiance! Delicious cold drink selections and a grande TEXAN welcome! Only critique is the meat temp could ve been a bit warmer. I ve passed by this place like 3 times tonight I finally stopped by I honestly didn t know what to expect but I was far from disappointed. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and shown around after I told them I was a first timer. And I was given a few menu suggestions. I went with the baked potato with sausage and brisket. It was sooooo good. And that potato didn t lack any flavor it was so buttery in the middle and the skin even tasted good. I will most definitely be coming back. Good food and wonderful service.

Came in for lunch, it was slow at the time. Service and atmosphere was good. Only slight complaint was the potato was overcooked therefore the skin was tough & I didnt eat it. Love this place! The BBQ here is really good, and thats saying a lot as Im a bit of a BBQ snob. Most other local BBQ restaurants are half again more expensive for food thats not as goof as Rudys, so its also a bargain! Super friendly Texas vibe! Incredible food. I had the most brisket, green Chile stew, and a drink. Carved to order, (a half pound), sooo good. Pickles, onions, jalapeños, either cherry peppers or habaneros. They have sissy sauce for the lightweights, lol, and regular and hot sauce to boot. Would definitely eat here again!

Came for a baked potato with all the fixings and I have to say. This is a delicious bbq spot and is a staple for Texas BBQ! Also Ann of course you thought their breakfast burritos were small. Sweetie they are tacos for $3, so I hope you re comparing four tacos to one normal burrito. Y all should have ordered 100 tacos for a group of $19. All the other reviews are good and bad but serious this is a great spot for lunch or dinner and they aren t here to provide therapy or every soda flavor you drink in your dreams.

Last-minute dinner after a few hours at Cabela, and my beef brisket sandwich and potato salad were just right! I want to add it would have been perfect with some spicy BBQ at my fingertips. It was still great. Suggestion: have a root beer option at your fountain station and maybe some Tabasco sauce. I love they have sliced Best Maid hamburger pickles available at all times. Good food and a great selection of sides.

Came for the breakfast burritos. Staff was excellent! We were greeted when we arrived as well as when we left. We are hosting 19 people for breakfast next week and thought this may be an excellent solution, Im glad we came for a trial run first. We come often for the large loaded potatoes and Brisket. The breakfast burritos are not on the same level as the rest of the food. They were surprisingly small. I ordered the potato, egg, and cheese. It was absolutely bland and 90% potato. There may have been a tablespoon of eggs towards the bottom with a few shreds of cheese. We tried one with bacon and one with brisket as well. I found them to be small and bland. They do offer lots of sauce options to dress them up with. The atmosphere is fantastic, staff and service as well.

Moist brisket and baby back ribs are tough and dry. If this only happened once, I wouldnt leave a review, but this is two out of two times. My suggestion, ask the Denton Rudys what theyre doing because their food is always spot on.

First and last time here. Came in at 6ish today. Ordered brisket, ribs, sausage and for sides the potato salad, beans and three bean salad. The meat was cold. So cold the fat was hard. The brisket in particular was unseasoned and very very dry. The sausage had no taste. The bean salad was okay, the potato salad was also okay. The beans were bad and looked like slop. Really disappointed with the food. For $80 I was at least expecting some warm food. Instead we were served cold and sloppy food. Find another BBQ place. There s tons out there, for cheaper or the same price and the food is actually good. I wish I could get my money back.

Excellent breakfast tacos! I bring my clients breakfast several times a week (different clients), and I order their breakfast tacos because they have been able to accommodate early pickups 6-6:45 am. Now theyve changed their hours to open later and now are changing $50 to pick up at 6:30 and $100 to pickup 6am-6:30am. So I wont be ordering from them anymore for business. Vegetarian options: Potato breakfast tacos.

Always great bbq and service is fast and friendly. For us, we love great sides, not just great bbq. The sides a bbq place offers along with delicious and well done bbq, is how we decide which bbq places we like. Rudys has good sides to choose from adding a salad option would be great but they dont have that. Dining area is large with plenty of seating and is kept clean most of the time. Easy access sinks outside the restrooms are nice. The condiments bar is great and always fresh.

I typically love Rudys.. especially their breakfast tacos. I havent been to one in a while so was excited I was nearby during breakfast time! I dont know if this was a one off or if the quality has just gone down but I was extremely disappointed in the quality of my food items (and I was there on the earlier side too which typically helps when it comes to that). Both breakfast tacos were incredibly greasy to the point where both my husband and I could not eat them. The tortillas were soggy and orange from the dripping grease. The beans I ordered were basically a cup of thick goop with a few beans. Pretty disappointed overall as it was pretty much inedible : /

Tried the brisket, ribs, and sausage. Brisket was cooked nicely, as was the ribs (not overcooked). Heavy use of peppercorn gives a unique pepper spice. The negative is that they pull the meat from the pit. It sits on the table, is cut, then sits in the tray, and by the time you sit down, theres too much sitting. Eating barely warm meat -1*. Open area dining. Bread and standard condiments are free. Two bbq sauces. Staff was helpful. Kids get free grilled cheese.
