Since my initial contact with Mustang Creek, I have met with nothing but excellent service from the Executive Director, the Marketing Coordinator, and several in the Billing Department. Each has been most diligent in providing critical and exacting information, answering all of our family s questions, and providing all necessary initial paperwork. Most importantly, I appreciated the ability to conduct all of our intake business electronically. Each of the individuals above has been readily available each time I have reached out for information or clarifications. Mustang Creek with its smaller resident-grouping format and reasonable rates is our answer to the many concerns and worries that come with placing a family member into an assisted living facility. We surely wish that we had heard about this beautiful and loving senior facility earlier. Thank all of you professionals at Mustang Creek for taking the stress and worry out of our hands! S. A month ago, I had to find a place for my mom to live after the progression of Alzheimers disease made it unsafe for her to live by herself. To say that it was a difficult transition for everyone involved would be an understatement. However, all of the staff that I have worked with thus far have been more than willing to help in any way. I toured five facilities prior to making the decision to move my mom to Mustang Creek in Allen. All of them were nice and probably would have accommodated my mom. The deciding factor was the genuine care and concern the staff showed for my mom. Im sorry to hear some of the other reviews that are not as positive. At this point, that has not been my experience. I will update or edit my review in the future. I hope this helps someone with the difficult decisions about moving a loved one into assisted living or memory care.

Such a shame that when it comes to elder care for a loved one, prices need to be played above their heads like the Stock Market. I have an extended family member in that facility and the financial stress this facility has bestowed on our family is beyond words. First they went up $300.00 each year and was probably going to continue until the family said, we cannot afford these increases. This was explained to them on the start that the income was limited. After explaining that we cannot afford these increases, they were going to drop the price 50%... Just like that... 50%. Amazing... It was not hard to make a decision and decided to give notice. Then they came back and said, What if we dont increase it at all. So we are price gouging? Seeing how much can be squeezed out of families. Cost of living increases yes, but it is noted that the cleanliness of the rooms has declined over the two years of the residency. So the game is, Lets try and squeeze money and maximize costs from the family until they waive the surrender flag?? Not right by any means!!

Rebecca is great and really cares about the residents. She tries to get to know each one and spend time with them all. If you have a concern she is easily contactable and addresses the issue immediately. My 88yo father moved in and he thinks the house is very nice, the staff are attentive, and the food is good. Plenty of activities to do also. Would highly recommend Mustang Creek as a place to live and very glad Rebecca is in charge of it. They have a new activities director, Alicia, that is absolutely fabulous. She takes time to talk to the residents, and really cares about them. The latest thing they did was a dance party and my father who in 53 years of marriage to my mother didnt dance was up and dancing with her with a big smile. The caretakers in his house also take time out to talk to him. Audrey always makes sure he has a cup of coffee in the morning before breakfast. EDIT: After a year of him living in this facility it is starting to go downhill. Not with the staff but with certain caretakers not caring or too busy on their phones to watch the residents. Activities not happening or caretakers not taking resident to them.

My mom, Barbara Cope was a resident at Mustang Creek in Allen for over 5 years. For the first year she was in House 5; then we had to move her to Memory Care in House 1. Our experience was never anything but positive. Her main caretaker was Joann, and we felt like we won the lottery with her! She has a heart of gold, and Mom loved her like family, as did we. We can t say enough good things about how Mustang Creek and especially Joann took care of our precious mom until her passing in April.

When my father was here from September 2019-March 2020, other than two or three people, my father was neglected. Nowhere near enough staff, not trained and many didn t care and didn t mind letting us know. Facility was not kept clean (not adequate staff, those there weren t trained well) and food quality was not what we were told it would be. I truly felt bad for the good people there- they were discouraged from doing a good job.

After looking at several facilities, I chose Mustang Creek for Dad. I am very happy with my choice- and so is Dad! From the initial paperwork to the day to day,the staff really cares ! The house caregivers are very kind, patient, and understanding. They care for the residents as if they were their own family. The house atmosphere makes it more personable and provides both privacy and a community feel. Rebecca answered all my questions, and did exactly what she said she would. Ive gotten to know the house staff by first name- and feel like Dad is in safe hands. Thanks for making this transition smooth and professional.

My dad was there for for a short while until he passed away. Rooms and bathrooms were not cleaned regularly. Things were constantly missing from his room. He was missing clothes, and had other people s clothes in his closet. Laundry was not done on the days it was supposed to be done. So many times, there was one person in the house helping with patients, cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry. Several times he had fallen on the floor and no one checked in on him. We would have to call and let them know he was on the floor. They seemed put out when we called. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The bathrooms were horrendous. All the warning signs they say to look for in a bad facility are present. If I could give it a zero star rating I would. We moved our loved one out of Mustang Creek within 2 months of placement. Beware.

My grandmother was located at this facility up until last Friday. The laundry list of issues my family has faced with this facility is long and incredibly varied. From her room not being cleaned to her medication not being administered, the care (or LACK of care) my grandmother received was abominable. Oftentimes it would be clear no one had been in to check on her all day. The only care she would receive on these days would be when one of the family members stopped by to visit her after work. On more than one occasion she fell out of bed in the night. On one occasion, she remained on the floor for over five hours, when one of my family members saw she was on the floor via a Ring camera and called the director. Other times she was only picked up when the alarm was set off on that same Ring camera. Remember: the state mandates health checks at a two hour interval. When it came to medication, it was hit or miss. Some days she wouldn t receive any medication. Other times we would find all of her pills in a fake plant. On one occasion, she received another resident s medication. Yet another, she received two doses. When it came to cleaning, my family did all of her laundry. They would arrive to check on her, and she would have feces all over the bottom of her feet. There would be urine on the floor. Deep cleanings did not occur. We spoke to the executive director and the director of operations on several occasions about these issues, but nothing was every truly fixed. The breaking point was last Friday, when my aunt arrived and could not wake my grandmother. No one could wake her. When questioned about what medication she had been given, my aunt was told they do not keep records. Ultimately, after quite a bit of back and forth, it was revealed they had been giving her enough clonazepam to keep her asleep, which is HIGHLY illegal. We immediately moved to remove her from the facility. The bottom line is that all families should immediately evaluate the care their loved ones are receiving in these facilities. There are not enough workers to care for residents, and the care that is given is absolutely criminal. Complaints have been filed with both the city and the state. Please PLEASE do not place your loved ones here.

I highly recommend Mustang Creek Estates of Allen. We recently had to move my Dad from Independent living to assisted living - due to a fall that caused brain bleeds and kidney failure. I wanted a place that was within his budget but a place that didnt feel like a nursing home. Mustang Creek Estates is a large home with separate bedrooms. There is a caregiver in the home 24/7. They provide his meals, clean his room, and do his laundry. My favorite things are they have doctors that will come directly to his room. He loves that part!!! My Dad is rather young and was very concerned and nervous about fitting in. On his first day there, they made him an assigned seat at the table next to the other 2 gentlemen in the home so when it was time to eat, there was no nervous where do I sit. They pass out his meds every day. I was nervous he wouldnt get them on time because he can get a little antsy about his meds, but hes had no issues. There were a few slight hiccups in the beginning when he was moving in, but that is to be expected as there are so many moving parts (ie pharmacy, doctor releases, rehabilitation center, etc) and they were swiftly resolved. Rebecca did an amazing job staying in contact with me and when I would text or call a hundred times, she was always pleasant and helpful. The caregivers are great!!! If you are looking for a place for yourself or a family member, please give Rebecca at Mustang Creek Estates of Allen a call. I went from constant worry and stress about my Dad when he was living by himself to now being able to enjoy this new chapter in his life - with him - because I know hes being cared for.

I would NOT put my loved one in this place EVER again. If any of the residents families actually paid close attention to what their loved ones are being fed and the care that they are actually receiving I believe that they would move them immediately! When we first visited and interviewed to put our loved one here, we were advised that they follow strict USDA guidelines for healthy balanced, low in salt, balanced in sugar nutritious meals. This is clearly NOT the case as we have witnessed on many different occasions. Would a normal human being eat packaged salads that are brown and wilted and have that ripe packaged salad smell? chicken wings that have very little meat or meat that is so tough it cant be cut much less chewed, macaroni and cheese and rice from a box (on more than a regular basis a few times a month and wheres the nutritional value here). Eggs that are scrambled and brown, processed meat dishes that come out of the freezer and right into a microwave/pan. Gravy and sauce packets thrown over a bed of meat and right into a pan or oven(once again HIGH IN SALT) Cole slaw that has so much dressing that it swam across the plate and the list goes on. GROSS! It wouldnt seem so hard nor time consuming for some one to put together a fresh salad, make their own sausage patty or pancake from a mix and put a little love in the dishes that are served to make them if anything more appealing and healthy for those residents. I am not sure if the CNAs that are employed here actually have the ability or knowledge to administer medications. or if the charge nurse is actually paying attention to the orders written by the physician. Our loved one was receiving medications at the wrong time, the wrong dose, and at some points medication that they should not have been receiving at all! Cleanliness at a first glance appears to be great BUT residents here are suppose to have a scheduled assigned day to have their space deep cleaned, laundry done, bed linens changed etc... We have arrived many times to find the same mess on the floor and carpet that was there the week before, Bed/bath linens that were not ours and belonged to someone else, Clothing missing, same sheets on the bed and unchanged after a week. It was very clear that the toilet, sink had not been cleaned for days! laundry was done all in one load not separating lights from darks ( I am assuming to speed up the process). The cleaning supplies are few and far between even though we supplied them for our loved one they got used for everyone else. Should it not be the facility directors responsibility to provide a clean, nutritious environment for the residents instead of cutting cost where they should not be cut? The care was not even sub par many times the help is sitting on the sofa watching television when we arrived. I know good help is hard to come by these days but its very clear this facility needs to step it up especially for the amount of money that residents are being charged to live here. Whos really paying attention to what goes on inside these doors?? Apparently no one!

We moved my dad into Mustang Creek Estates in Allen 2 months ago. This was a very difficult transition for him, as I suspect it is for most new residents. The staff, however, has been extremely helpful in getting him settled and making him feel at home here. The director, Christine, has been very communicative and quick to respond to my calls and e-mails. She has also given me good advice on ways for us to make this transition easier on my dad. Knowing how much my father loves to be outside, she takes walks with him often and/or sits on the porch with him and visits. The activities director, Sarai, is extremely outgoing and bubbly and has constant playful interaction with the residents. From the moment we met her, we knew she would be someone who Dad would naturally gravitate toward. He may not be able to say her name, but he certainly lights up when she is nearby. He looks forward to the walks and outings that she conducts with the residents. During our visits we have met the caregivers and they have all been warm and accommodating. Dad has told us that they are good people and that they are good to him ... and for that we are grateful. He must also like their cooking, because he spends a good bit of his day eating one meal or another! Because of COVID, barbers/beauticians have not been allowed in, so we are having to help out with some of that type of grooming. My husband has taken on the role of cutting his hair and shaving him when needed. I cut his fingernails and/or toenails when possible. With the COVID restrictions of one 30-minute visit per week, keeping up with some of the grooming has been difficult but understandably necessary. That being said, though, Dad is always clean and the house is always neat and clean ... thankfully, no odor that you many times encounter in other senior living facilities. Laundry is done weekly, which is wonderful. We occasionally see someone elses clothes hanging in his closet, though, so there are some issues to be worked out there.

When my father in-law arrived at Mustang Creek Estates of Allen, he was recovering from a car accident that killed his wife and was in a wheelchair. The staff had him up and WALKING in no time which is more than the rehabilitation center he came from could do. They focused on his recovery and his mental well-being as he was grieving. Every single employee loved and cared for my dad in-law like family. They became our family as well. The homes are extremely clean (never has it ever smelled like some nursing homes) and my dad in-law raved about how wonderful the food was. We are devastated that our dad is gone. MCE of Allen still reaches out to check on us because they care. I cant ever think of a negative thing I could complain about. We were so extremely luck to find them.

My Mom spent the last 7 years of her life at Mustang Creek in Allen. When we had to make the difficult decision (because of her worsening dementia), to find an assisted living home, the task was not pleasant. I visited many beautiful facilities with many amenities and fast talking salespeople. I even had two times where I excused myself in the middle of the tour because all I felt they were, was holding bins till the residents died off. I then happened on Mustang Creek. Just driving up , it looks like a home rather than a dormitory out of One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest . We went in and were immediately greeted warmly by both staff and residents. It was clean and bright and had that homey feel that I wanted my Mom to have. Over the years my Mom met many friends and every time I visited, no matter what time of the day, she was always happy. The staff was always great in keeping me informed of anything I needed to know and would always share stories of what my Mom did this time . My Mom passed away on August 18, 2020. At the viewing three of the staff members showed up to share in our celebration of my Moms life. Having to find a place for your loved one is tough. Finding a place like Mustang Creek Allen is truly a blessing.

My father has been in Memory care for 14 months. I researched many facilities over time and kept coming back to Mustang Creek of Allen. The layout of the house has the kitchen as center and has a homey feel.I visited my Dad at least 3-4 times/week until Covid changed everything. I got to know the staff and residents. There were lots of activities everyday and parties with special entertainment frequently. The residents of Memory care need more care and I did feel there was a problem with understaffing. With COVID-19 the employees were at risk, but due to increased need I think staffing increased. They have taken good care of my Dad and I appreciate them!

Mustang Creek looks like a nice place and sells you on the excellent care that will be provided for your love one. However, it quickly becomes evident that it is subpar in providing care services. My frail mother was not given her pain meds on a consistent schedule. Time and time again she would have to ask for someone to get her meds for her. Sometimes they were brought and sometimes they werent . She was given a medical alert button to push for assistance because she was a high fall risk. Rarely were her calls every responded to which put her at risk. The facility was grossly understaffed so it was not uncommon for someone to cook, clean, wash clothes and administer meds. Meds were not administered by trained medical assistants but by the person working at that time. A couple of weeks ago, I discovered that she had not been bathed in days, I found her in a dirty gown with an unmade bed at 1:30 in the afternoon. Neglect is abuse. I immediately made arrangements to move her out. When I told the management, their only reply was you need to give 30 days notice. It was more important for me to move my Mom than it was to wait 30 days. Mustang Creek wasted no time in sending a bill for the 30 days. I hope that this account will prevent anyone from going through what my Mom did.

Well, things began well, but finished badly. The owners of Mustang Creek began to reduce staff, many times only one person for 15 residents. That one person had to do the cleaning, cooking, bathing, laundry, everything by themselves. Just think of it, you caring for a family of 15 who cannot do anything to help! My father was not being cared for correctly. He had a fall, fractured his neck and had a concussion which landed him in the hospital and rehab for a month, then needed much higher levels of care because of his severe injuries. I would not recommend Mustang Creek for Memory care, or any other care.

The owner should be ashamed of how low she pays her workers for a job that requires soooo much. We take care of humans not animals. They don t give raises here. I could work full time here and still not be able to pay my rent. 9.50 is what the start you off with and what you end up with. A lot of the staff are African Americans and I believe that s why we get paid so low. When a job pays low and requires a lot its slavery and I m not my ancestors. So that s why I no longer work here. DONT WORK HERE. Nobody deserves to be treated the way they treat their staff at mustang creek.

To say our family is upset about our Mother s care over the past 6 months is an understatement! The lack of response regarding our concerns is quite frankly appalling. When Mother fell in the fall, her face was so badly bruised it took nearly 4 months to heal. And management was completely non communicative & unresponsive when I asked about what happened?!? How could you not investigate the circumstances of her fall? First as the responsible director of the facility, but moreover as a compassionate and logical human being? If that had been your family member, would you have not expected to have been told what actually happened? And knowing it was another resident s family that found her in the hallway....not your staff member. And she lied to my face about what happened. Had mother not been on hospice, you clearly would have done nothing following her fall. Pure safety concerns should have prompted proactive efforts and action on your part. And when I met with you about what happened on Christmas Day & the following day, i.e., finding Mom sitting in urine soaked clothes, to date....zero response from staff. We had to pay to have her recliner professionally cleaned and was advised by Stanley Steamer that there was also feces on the chair as well!!!! How would you feel if your mother, or grandmother was treated like this??? In addition, I feel you lied to us about the capabilities of your facility to care for Mom. You do not have the necessary staff, training, leadership or facility to provide care to most of the people living in your assisted living houses. To add insult to all the other issues that have occurred in the past several months, when I arrived yesterday afternoon to pack up Mother s laundry hamper was sitting, unwashed, in the laundry room. I had planned to take all her laundry but when packing her clothing, discovered there were no pajama pants clean? So I pulled out most of them & put them in the washer myself. There was a horrible odor in her hamper, and when I pulled out he rest of her clothing discovered multiple items COVERED IN FECES!!!!!! I have attached pictures for your benefit. Needless to say, they had to be thrown away. Had your staff rinsed them immediately & washed them, maybe they could have been cleaned. Not only did they NOT wash them, they did not advise me that there had been any issues. Again, no care, no concern. All I can say surmise is incompetence, laziness, and horrible behavior. And that is squarely on YOUR shoulders. People are entrusting YOU to take care of their family, people who are there because they need help!!!! Not to be left sitting in urine soaked clothing!!! Not to leave them sitting in feces, and clothes left with nasty, crusted feces on them. This lack of care is deplorable!!!! Other concerns raised to you about the constant disrepair in House 3 were never addressed in a satisfactory manner. Flooding dishwasher, washing machine and broken oven for days, broken and missing cabinet door in kitchen, water cut off to house for days, is simply unacceptable. Yet again, when I went to get Mom s laundry yesterday, there was water all over the floor from the washer!!!! There was only 1 light bulb, of 5, working on the light fixture in Mom s room...the list continues.... While nothing is perfect, your lack of care, concern, and empathy is unacceptable!!! Our decision to move Mom, to our fault, is long overdue!!! Rest assured, these pervasive issues will be reported to the corporate office and the governing state board. If the below statement is your mission, you have FAILED!!!!!! Our mission is to provide seniors with a high quality, residential type of assisted living at an affordable price. Sadly, I do not expect or request a reasonable response from you as that has never occurred with past concerns and nothing can erase what happened to our dear mother. I pray this does not happen to any other resident at any of Mustang Creek facilities.
