I retained the services of Jackson Spencer Law recently for representation against my former employer for violating my rights as a person in a protected class of individuals and for wrongful termination. As a former paralegal, I knew what I was looking for in an attorney and their support staff, and I was relieved to find it with M. Neal Bridges. Their team took the time to thoroughly understand my claims, and the process was laid out clearly for me. It was very thorough, so yes, it took some time to get the foundation built, but the time invested was well worth it. In the end, I have been able to walk away from this ugly situation with my head held high; I was given honest advice and received direct answers to my questions. I felt like my claims were taken seriously and that I was treated honorably during negotiations with opposing counsel. Ultimately, Mr. Bridges was able to reach a settlement with my former employer, which was beyond my expectations- I had simply hoped that what happened to me wouldnt happen to anyone else in the future, so to walk away with a fair settlement was icing on the cake. Sometimes there is no justice to be had when bad things happen to good people, but Ive always believed that we still have to fight back when we know we have been inherently discriminated against and treated unfairly. I was terrified of fighting my former employer as a global entity with deep pockets, but luckily, thanks to Jackson Spencer Law, I didnt have to fight alone.

Their communication is horrible. Not to mention nearly 2 years of stagnant progress on my case, and after doing everything they asked of me, and getting the proper documentation from the state to move forward, they decided to throw in the white flag and leave me to fend for myself. After getting the right to sue green light from the state they decided they could no longer represent me, with no valid explanation. They told me I could find another attorney but, because I wasted so much time with their firm, I d be on strict time restrictions to legally get something done. I was always the one who initiated communication with them when I needed an update EVERY TIME. Their primary form of communication is email which is fine but even at that I was always the one who needed to dig and pry for updates. Not even once did I, in the entire time, verbally speak to an attorney. It was always different people who I spoke to. Such a huge waste of time and energy. They will paint the picture that they re doing everything they can and working hard behind the scene, but nothing was done, everything was dragged out. And in the end, all this experience with this firm gave me was stress and disappointment on top of an already traumatizing situation. Highly do not recommend. This is my personal experience with this firm.

Professional, quick to respond, unfortunately I did not get the response or outcome I wanted after paying the consultation fee. The helpful parts: - I was given advice on how to word an email to management. - I was informed on the difference of mediation vs investigation and the timeframes associated with both options. (Investigation by the TWC EEOC will take years) The not-so-fun parts: - I paid the $195 fee for a 45 minute consult, which for me is expensive. - I was given advice that I had already attempted multiple times in this past year with no success. - I was hoping they would represent my case, but I was informed that retaliation on basis of disability and failure to promote cases are very difficult to prove. I wish this could have been communicated without having to pay the $195 fee, but I understand this is a business first. I was offered additional services in composing emails for an hourly fee, I didnt bother to ask how much the rate is as I cannot afford any additional services right now. An unfortunate experience, but this is the reality of the situation. If you are paying that high of a fee, everyone wants to be told their case is strong, but the reality is far from your wants and hopes. This was my last-ditch effort in finding a lawyer willing to take on my case. After a year of fighting for my life, collecting hundreds of pieces of evidence, contacting lawyers endlessly, paying consult fees, presenting data, and trying to salvage the last 7 years of hard work and dedication I have put in at my current job, its time to throw in the towel. My unprofessional advice, dont fight it. Just leave, whenever you can. Keep your head down until then. There are millions of cases of discrimination every year. Upper management/HR is there to protect and perpetuate the company and the systems in place that allow and encourage oppression and exploitation of minorities, women, people of color, queer people, and people with disabilities. Unless you have glaringly obvious evidence of discrimination and financial hardship (i.e. your boss calling you a slur, telling you youre being written up because they hate that youre queer, firing you because youre disabled, etc.) dont pursue anything. Update 04/29/2024: I had more incidents occur at work with more impact, I sent the updates to the firm as the lawyer had asked me to send him updates. They responded about a week later with a reject letter saying they feel they are not the right firm for my legal issues. The associate did recommend local lawyers, some that are more financially friendly. I am at square one but $200 poorer.

Jennifer Spencer listened to my situation and immediately took my case. There was constant communication about my case along the way. After almost 2 years they dropped my case for lack of staff. First they said they lost 2 attorneys and a few months later they said they lost several paralegals and that has forced them to drop my case and a few other clients. I had terrible experience with this law firm. Deadlines are approaching and I m out money I paid for filing my case and no law firm will take my case. Pretty sad. The young people that do the intake to see if the lawyers will take a case or embarrassing!! Just Unprofessional and unrealistic. They literally asked me the same questions five different times by five different people. They couldn t understand the easy concept of what I was saying. It s shameful and embarrassing that the firm gives them this type of power. They re losing a lot of money by letting these young people who do the intakes mess everything up. It wasn t frustrating. It s shameful embarrassing that your intake department couldn t even take down the information given to them numerous times!!! It took them nine days to just make a decision if they would take the case or not when they said it normally takes 3 to 4 days that shows the other incompetence. They got defensive and got angry and then denied my case over it. Shameful

I can t say enough about Jennifer, Neal and team. Beginning with the initial discussion (which they don t charge for) they were extremely professional and made me feel safe. Their team approach lets you know that all your questions will be answered in a timely manner. You are not a number and they care. Contacted them to represent me in a dispute with my employer. After paying them over $600 they advised me on my email replies and never really got involved. I feel like I need to get a lawyer to try and recover what I lost from them. It s a shame that places like this exist to prey on folks that just lost their income. I would have been better off just signing the proposal and keeping my money to feed my family. While I didn t expect them to win me a giant settlement, one more month would have been worth the cost and they couldn t even deliver that.

I requested a free consultation to try to answer some general legal questions about a situation I have. Their legal assistant spent 7 days getting a lot of detailed information from me, only to tell me they are not the firm for me. I never asked them to represent me! Beware. These people took my case and when it was determined that they might have to go to court to help me they dropped my case and left me hanging. Did not even give eeoc a chance to investigate before they dropped me. Now I have no hope of doing anything and the company that wronged me and endangered my life will get off Scott free. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Sure there are some nice people here but they are not interested in helping people. They are only focused on money and easy win cases and not on doing the right thing and helping people whom have been wronged.

No feedback as to why they can not assist only information for other firms like theirs. I can only assume one reasoning why they are unwilling to assist with my issue. I am deeply grateful to the incredibly talented team at Jackson Spencer Law. I knew Jennifer Spencer to be a woman of integrity, and integrity was the most important quality I was looking for in a legal team - results would have meant nothing to me if questionable methods were employed to get there. Jackson Spencer delivered on both fronts! Coming forward with a claim can be terrifying and re-traumatizing but Jennifer and her team supported me every step of the way with an incredible combination of legal expertise and compassion. If there is such a thing as trauma-informed law, this practice is modeling it! I don t understand how a law firm could just dismiss someone that has gone above and beyond responding and trying to get help. They took my case them out of nowhere closed my file after not doing anything for over two months. They missed deadlines and I literally received an email yesterday saying call these other attorneys. It s sad that they would string a person along in a difficult situation and then just abandon them.
