Phoenix Pho boba Tea

About the Company

rating: 4.3

Phở, pronounced "fuh," is a Vietnamese soup that is normally made with a bone-beef broth, banh pho noodles, and thinly sliced beef, that's often served with bean sprouts and other fresh herbs on the side. Not to be confused with Japanese ramen, which is usually made with wheat noodles, pho is made with rice noodles. It is important to note that there are many variations of pho. The most common is pho nam, which originates in Southern Vietnam, and pho bac, which is from Northern Vietnam and considered to be the original pho.

Traveling from Louisiana for work and decided to get some Pho (PH-UH) btw not (Ph-O). Got it to-go and service was fine and a seemingly relaxed atmosphere inside but I would NOT suggest this to anyone looking for remotely authentic Vietnamese food. When I asked if they had lettuce wraps the girl on the phone said Ummm we have spring rolls which are lettuce and shrimp wrapped in this like clear paper and it sounds like the same thing. I also asked if they offered Bun Bo Hue (Sorry dont have accents on my phone but they had no idea what it was anyway) Long story short I ended up ordering the Pho Ga (chicken) extra spicy with spring rolls. Apparently Extra spicy means including one packet of Sriracha sauce with the Pho. Broth was more similar to salty chicken noodle than bone broth. Ive always praised Texas cuisine and hopefully I went on an off night.

Really neet scenery due to the outdoor area...construction on a apt. Building next door ruins view that side...egg rolls good had chicken and shrimp pho..very tasty really large bowl...dont recommend taking home left overs cause they turned to mush in less than hour..fried rice was good..popcorn chicken was so small and less than a cup worth ..not worth the price..we had teas with popping good but sweet. Very pricey based on other places in Abilene..service was fast and food came out before drinks. Overall a great first time we tried it experience.

This place had the ac off in the summer and prices are a little overpriced for Abilene. I guess they keep the prices high being next to the rich kids that attend private university just right next to it. I just went in there for a boba tea in the middle of the day and the A/C was off and it was during the near July heat. I m assuming because the owner was trying to cut back on his electric bill. I felt bad for the cooks. If I couldn t even eat in that sauna how could they cook in it? I told the girl at the front and they refused to do anything about it. And by the way they need to stop hiring these little bratty girls working there because they are so rude. Maybe im used to service in Dallas where boba restaurant are more present. Either way, I think this place can do better. It doesn t matter that they are the only pho and boba restaurant in town. In this town word spreads like wildfire, especially when it comes to restaurants so they need to step up their customer service game for real.

Overall the food is good, however I can tell the owners are cheap with ingredients. I got the vegetarian pho-- its only Cilantro, lettuce, green onions and bean sprouts. Most places I go to have carrots, onions, brocolli, bean sprouts, basil , mushrooms, etc. I was given like a teaspoon of bean sprouts and not much tofu.

Lovely place to eat! Food is good! Might need to have their wait staff have more enthusiasm for serving. They seemed like they were bored and on their phones and wanted to chat with each other at a table. Yes they have breaks, but should not be right at front where people are coming to register and dining. The place is very clean and very good wait times for food. Great views! Delicious food! I definitely recommend to eat here!

Oh come on I was so excited to try this place s food because of the raving reviews. I should have known better. I went with a few co workers. We each got different things, but I will say, no one actually got the Pho so I don t know if that is any good. All of our food was bland.. and chewy. Our drink s were phenomenal, I got the matcha milk tea with black boba and I honestly want to try every drink on that menu, but a haaaard pass on the fried rice (combo and chicken) and the rice plate pork chop. The meat on the pork chop was SO CHEWY and it was SMOTHERED in sauce.. like drowned in sauce to I guess hide the lack of flavor in the actual meat ! The chicken and rice and shrimp and beef in the fried rices were all bland and tasteless. I got more flavor out of the fried egg on my white rice. Like I said we did not try the Pho or the sandwiches and most of the appetizers were out. The dumplings were fried to a crisp and the meat inside was bland and the edamame was actually pretty decent. I want to give them another try and try different drinks and their PHO though. I also liked their little gift shop at the front lol, it s all overpriced stuff you can buy off TEMU for less, but the I love kawaii in me could sit there and stare at it all for hours. Our server was really kind and attentive, the atmosphere was good because it s beautiful out there and they had a lot of big windows and natural light.

First time visit. Will try again, but this visit was very disappointing for the price. The architecture is such that conversation is difficult. The main ingredient in the pho seemed to be salt, with very sparse fresh garnish. Fried rice was almost cold. Sweet server. Will go back one more time and try the ultimate combo fried rice, but that will be a make-or-break visit. Not terrible but theres better food to be had for better prices closer to the main mass of town.

Broth lacked Alot of depth and flavor. I got the chicken pho and it was literally just boiled shredded chicken breast thrown over the top. I also got some fresh spring rolls that didn t have good flavor either. The peanut sauce was bland and the spring rolls had a boat load of shredded romaine lettuce. I was hungry and it was food so I ate it but it s definitely not a place that I would ever return to. The tea s are okay if you wanna just come in for a tea. Other than that the food was very bland and definitely not worth how much you re paying for it. Save your money, go eat good flavorful food elsewhere and if you re thirsty maybe come buy a tea. I gave it one star because the staff was really nice and another start because the place is pretty. Perhaps if you wanna just sit there and drink your tea after eating else were . Definitely over priced for the lack of flavor, I walked out of there extremely disappointed.

Dont get me wrong, its good pho. But definitely different from expectations. The meatballs were not the traditional style I would see at a typical Vietnamese restaurant. Condiments are not kept on the table, had to ask for hoisin and Sriracha, and youd think that an upper-scale place would not be using disposable chopsticks.

I love Phoenix Pho, and always crave this place- but today, I was sat at 7:00 P.M. for a table of two (waiting on my boyfriend.) The two (and only) young servers continued to sit people around me, never greeting me, never asking for drinks, no kind of consolation whatsoever. As I sit for about seven minutes and having been a server at way busier places (there were five tables in the entire restaurant that were eating), I decided to wait to see when I d be greeted. One girl then proceeds to sit her family members as my boyfriend arrives at 7:20, and she FINALLY comes to greet us after telling them, I have to go see a new table first. She acted like I hadn t been sitting here for twenty minutes as the rest of the staff just stared at me, also not helping. I love this place and it s food, but please train your servers for better experiences. I am very understanding as I ve been there, done that, but I mean you re not busy. Stop polishing forks and at least greet a table and get drink orders. The only reason I gave two stars was for the food making up for it.

I feel like they used old stuff. The vermicelli is like staying in the fridge from the last day, dry and hard. The pho special was not as big as before. The bean sprout side is usually in bad quality. I like to eat here. I just hope they could improve those.

Pho is good but the tall guy with glasses needs hospitality lessons. Other staff are good tho. Avoid that guy and just get your take away, the place is un-inviting.

Usually a favorite spot of mine for combination fried rice. Today I went in and prices have went up. Inflation is real but geez, this will detour me of coming back here for a while. People are looking for reasonable food right now and this unfortunately isn t it.

We went Saturday night at 8pm and dined in for 3. It took a little bit for anyone to even come over. When she did we ordered our appetizers, boba drinks and food all at once. Drinks came out fast. We went outside for a quick walk and picture. The food was out when we got back. All of it at one time. No big deal not to have your app before but our order was incomplete. We were missing a whole meal. I ask the girl if we have another dish coming she says yes. Im sorry. We wait and wait thank goodness we had the apps to munch on. I ask again if our food is almost ready. She comes back and says she completely forgot to fire our food. I almost gave up at this point. But someone came from out the kitchen and assured us it would be right out. It did come out within 5 minutes. The server comes to check on us finally and we had pushed all the empty plates to the side. She asked if we needed to go boxes not even looking at the completely empty plates. Ok no big deal. Just read your table and be observant because if you had you would have realized my husband is blind while youre just trying to hand him the credit card reader right in front of his blind face. Food was decent but service was just lacking in every way.

The food was great, but for two bowls of pho, spring rolls with water (at lunch) for nearly $40, I d like more than just Taco Bell sized sauce packets. Also shouldn t have to ask for basil or more than a pinch of bean sprouts and two jalapeño slices. If you have to charge a lot, provide a lot.

Do not go to this terrible place to buy Boba drink! And their food is expensive! They do not use good ingredient! Like the boba I had yesterday at 8:30, it was way to soft! I did not chewing it but drank it with tea. I could not feel the boba! I worked in a boba tea place before. I have learned that only remnant boba from the day before or bad quality boba can be super soft. So I highly doubt this restaurant does not serve good fresh food for customers!

My kids and I all loved our food and drinks. They got a smoothie and a soda love drink. The pho was fantastic. Exactly like I ve been missing! We will definitely be back. Thank you for your kind staff and excellent food!

The broth for the Pho was very aromatic and flavorful. I recommend adding the bean sprouts to give it a little crunch. Im sure I commuted a Pho-paux but I took a Bahn MI sandwhich and dunked it into the broth of my pho. It really enhanced the flavors of cucumber carrot and the beef of the sandwich. The boba tea was an amazing sweetness and the perfect end to the dinner. Cant wait to go back!

Service is great. But dont like the fact that they dont have portion size options on Pho. Also, they serving pinch of garnish side vegetables. Few thin stamps of Cilantro was half dried, 2 SLICE of Jalapeno? Pho was OK. Ive been to tons of Pho place before. When I compare this place to others, this is Not the best soup place I would say. But not the worst. Location of restaurants are very pretty in general.

Went into the restaurant for take out. The service was extremely friendly and helpful. Quickly took our order and then the food was ready in a matter of minutes. The waiting area is small but quite comfortable. Ordered the Special Phoenix Pho, awesome taste with the wide selection of meats and the store super hot and delicious broth. Also ordered the Korean BBQ Rib fried rice. Again very tender and delicious. I would say that you need to check this place out. You wont be unhappy with what ever you pick to eat Or drink like the boba tea.

What is with these 1 star reviews? Viewers please be impartial with every review. I came here on my road trip as well. I didn t expect this restaurant to be anything decent since this town is fairly small and some reviews weren t that great. My first impression: it is beautiful! The restaurant is nice and clean, and the location is so spot on. I guess the location and the great view already compensate for the price that they are charging. Actually, everything went up these days, we can t expect small business like this to sacrifice their revenue unless we want them to close down. Then we will lose this relaxing spot from our road trip. As a Vietnamese, I know full well how homemade Pho tastes like, but this is a restaurant. Of course the flavor is not that strong because they are serving the public. They had to tone down the flavor so that we can adjust it to our liking. What s the point of having sauce on the side? For those Vietnamese that complain about this, I guess you guys have not had Pho outside your house that much. I prefer this place over some terrible Pho restaurants that I ve been to in Dallas and in Orange County, California. As for service, I honestly didn t expect much since I ve been to many Asian restaurants so my standard was not that high. In contrast, the girl who took my order was actually really nice and was much better than many waiters that I met in other Pho restaurant. Had a little chat with the owner and questioned him about the bad things I read here. He shared that there were a couple of employees that were let go due to bad behavior to the customers (ha!) and some of them intentionally left bad reviews on his business. Well duh. Boba! Man, what a bonus. Who would have thought that they had brown sugar boba drink here, and at a Pho restaurant at that! This was really a treat for my trip. I don t care how good they think those Taiwanese franchises are. I m exhausted from my trip. I just wanted something nice to cool me down, and this place s brown sugar milk tea was top notch! I have to say it again it was an extra plus to me. In conclusion, the nice exterior & interior, the view, the upbeat atmosphere, the service, the food, and especially the boba made my road trip experience ten times better. No more that body fatigue, and now I can add a relaxing stop to my plan whenever I go past Abilene. P/S: yes I m a Vietnamese so I could be a little biased if you think so, but I tried to be impartial as much as I could unlike some other so called Vietnamese that left bad reviews on the food here. You guys should stick to your mom cooking, not here, kids.

A hidden gem in the city of Abilene. This weekend Phoenix Pho was trialing a dish of crab meat fried rice and I was lucky to dine in today and try out the dish. I could immediately tell at first bite that the crab meat was of superior quality. Very generous portions of both rice and crab meat. Most appealing to me was that it was not too salty nor bland. Excellent cooking that is worth a detour

Nope nope nope. Service was fine, but the food left little to desire. The chicken tasted like it was boiled in water and then pulled apart. It was so dry and for being soup seems that would be really hard to do. Then it was served with what looked like 3 day old herbs such a joke. I was cool with the sauce packages vs big bottles hanging on the table. Oh and their eggrolls were tough and had way too much wrapper.

I guess I will only be buying Boba tea from here from now on. This tofu veggie stirfry is pathetic. I can t believe I paid $11 for it. There s only a few pieces of tofu. And on top of that there s very little veggies. They have bean sprouts in a few pieces of shredded cabbage. I see maybe two peas. So disappointing. This place used to be a lot better when it first opened.
