This place hands down has the ABSOLUTE best food in Abilene. I am originally from Arizona and this place is my favorite restaurant in Abilene because I feel its the only place in town that is exotic and different!!! The food is so amazing and I would eat here every single day if I could!!

This place is amazing. I I got the jersey chicken which was amazing, rice and peas amazing, cabbage amazing. This place is a hidden gem. Family was so nice. They were out of beef patties, they sell out of those quickly. Thats OK bc Im calling them as soon as they open on Sunday. So happy that I found out about this place!! If you havent been there, you are missing out!!!

The best authentic Jamaican experience you will find in Abilene! They came highly recommended by a friend, and they didnt disappoint. The ox tail was 10/10, as was the jerked chicken. The staff was very friendly and professional. Will be returning here for sure

Let me say that the unassuming outside does not match the flavors that are awaiting inside! I came across this place by doing a search for lunch, but I wanted something different for lunch. Coming from Florida and now residing in Abilene, I wanted Caribbean. I didn t think there was a such a place in town, but google proved me wrong. Not only was I wrong, it s close to my house so I decided to stop in. This is a small store front and very unassuming. I walked in and you can hear the Reggae music coming from the back kitchen! I also got a whiff of something that smelled familiar, being that I grew up in the Caribbean. After a few minutes of chatting with the young lady at the front counter, I realized they had Beef Patties! I didn t think twice about that. I also ordered the Ox tail special with rice and vegetables. The Patty came out and that was the fastest thing I ate. So flavorful and the outside was so flaky and crusty. So damn good. I then opened the Oxtail container. That allspice smell hit me and I went in. The Oxtails were tender. Oh and that gravy! I asked them at the front for some pepper sauce aka hot sauce. That also was delightful. I m glad I came by and checked this place out. I get tired of Burger joints. This might just be my new favorite place in town. This is as close to comfort food for me and I know I will be back. Excellent job to the chef . Everything was delicious.

The place is awesome. The food is good with great customers service! My favorite is the Red Beans and Rice or the Lemon Pepper. I have been to the business and to the food truck locations and had good experiences at both. Love the family owed business and always look forward to my next visit!!

I remember when this place was a food truck and the food was not only amazing then but even more amazing now! The additional items on the menu are phenomenal. The jerk chicken plate is a 10/10, can t forget the side of cornbread too. It s so nice to have a real soul food restaurant in Abilene!!

Ordered the jerk chicken plate. This came with two pieces of chicken, rice & peas, and cabbage. The chicken was tender with a mild flavor (no heat), as was the cabbage. The rice & peas used the traditional red kidney beans and had a woodsy flavor, but the scotch bonnet pepper was missing. Overall Ill go back to try the goat curry or the ox tail.

I had some pretty good customer service here, I should ve asked the lady up front her name lol she was kind and super helpful ! The place was really clean and the owner I presume was super friendly! They ran out of fries unfortunately but I was able to sub it for mac n cheese and it was BOMB!! I will be coming back!

Stopped by before leaving town. Food was excellent. I had the jerk chicken and my husband had the beef tips and rice. So good. Next time I visit I will definitely stop by again.

I m speechless. ONE OF THE BEST PLACES IN ABILENE. Wings were hot and delicious, greens are better than my granny s, and the banana pudding gave me a religious experience. 1000% going back as often as I can.

When I walked in was greeted by the cashier. She let me know my food was still being worked on. She was friendly and most of all my food was seasoned good and . I recommend trying Soulfood Shack if you havent Iwill go back. The owners are really good people.

I seen a post on the Abilene Small Business FB page about a new soulfood restaurant opening, so I wanted to try it out. I walked in and was greeted by an amazing employee who engaged in small talk and fantastic customer service. I gave her my order, and she read it back to me to make sure that everything was correct. I did go around 245, and it was right before they closed. Some items werent available anymore but she recommended other items that would be just as good. Now, lets talk about the food. I got the jerk chicken, fried wings, Mac and cheese and cornbread. The jerk chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection. It wasnt overcooked and hard, it was soft and melted in my mouth. The fried hot wings were delicious!! Again, it was cooked to perfection to the perfect crispness that a hot wing should be. The Mac and cheese was also delicious and the cornbread. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a very delicious meal. My tummy was full and the portion amounts were very generous. I would recommend going earlier though, just to make sure that the food you want is available. Not before closing time like me. Ive heard that their banana pudding is splendid so Im disappointed in myself for totally forgetting to order some. But, they have gained a loyal customer with me, and Im hoping to try it next time.
