Driving through town and was looking for something different. So glad we stopped. Nice hole-in-the-wall taco shop. Homemade tortillas. I loved my brisket taco & quesadilla. Reasonably priced especially compared to chain tacos like Fuzzys. Clean. Dark curtains cover all the windows to try to keep out the heat/cold.

Went this morning July 19 2024, I was a little disappointed the of operating open at 6am. I get there 610am they were closed no sign on the door about being closed. Bad for your business not knowing if your going to be open or closed.

I am writing this review primarily to let people know that Los Carnales caters as well and that we had a wonderful experience with them catering our sons graduation party. We have a large family and were blessed to have many of them and quite a few family friends RSVP for our sons graduation party, so we hired Los Carnales to deliver the food. I figured wed get a few trays and that would be it, but they showed up with the whole catering setup and put it together for us so that the food would be warm all evening. They did not skimp on the servings and we ended up inviting the family over to our house the next day for leftovers. Everything was fresh and tasty. I had people asking me if the food was homemade because it was so good, which pretty much insured Ill keep this place in mind for future events.

The new drive thru is awesome , thank you Emmanuel for the add it just makes Los Carmales that much more amazing. Also big shout out to Elias for always having the best customer service no what what the circumstances are. Also have to say the food is ALWAYS on point best authentic Mexican food in Abilene hands down. Thank you all for your service to our community may God continue to bless you.

What a hidden gem this place is! How I didn t know of this place sooner is beyond me. We had Taco Tuesday plus enchilada plates & chips & queso tonight and it was all absolutely authentic and delicious!! Took some arroz con leche home for dessert, so so yummy!! Everything is homemade including their corn & flour tortillas. We re definitely gonna be regulars. Can t wait to try the breakfast!

Todays stop: Los Carnales taco shop. I did a review a few weeks ago when this shop first opened and it wasnt a good one. So, I decided to stop in and give them a second chance. (Im a fair travel reviewer) When I arrived there were about 10 cars there. Got a parking spot right in front. Inside had a good number of patrons seated and they seemed to be enjoying their meals. I couldnt decide what I wanted to eat and the guy in the front was super friendly and gave me ample time to decide my order. I ordered an Iced tea a fajita quesadilla and fajita nachos. Yes, they have burritos, tacos, nachos, enchiladas and more on the menu. I had a brief wait which was a definite improvement from the last time. When I opened my bag, I got a bit worried as I found hair outside of my food box. (I mean benefit of the doubt, it could have been dried white cheese?) (My bag was tied when I got my order so, Its not mine) I opened my box and inspected my food, no visible hair inside. So that was good!! I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt as dried cheese and just ate. I mean you have to choose your battles wisely. Right! (Being a foodie/travel blogger, I am most certain Ive eaten worse) The sweet tea was AMAZING! Yes it was really good and large. I personally like the quesadilla better than the nachos. Hot sauce was flavorful and picoso! Nice and spicy! Overall this go round was a good one. They are definitely making positive progress. Prices are good and portions are plentiful. Omg!! Tried this place for the first time and man was that a good idea! Bought all my techs breakfast and now they probably wont get any work done today they are All full and lazy the burritos were Fire and phat and on point! You definitely have to try this place! This business is only about .25 miles from my own and I am all about supporting new locally owned businesses. This place is neat and clean in appearance and certainly will not disappoint you once you try their fare. It serves a limited menu (they serve breakfast and lunch only) but enough choices to satisfy most any palate. The beans and rice that they serve with the tacos is seasoned just right and quite tasty. The tacos themselves were fairly good size - in fact I was not even hungry for dinner. The owner came out to each table and spoke with the patrons to make sure that there were no problems and that we were enjoying the food. All in all, a very good experience. Thumbs up!
