Went to Shockey Stables for my wife and Is wedding anniversary. Ms. Judy was super sweet, hilarious, patient, & an all around great teacher. Horses did an amazing job and so did Ms. Judy and her staff. We will DEFINITELY return to do more business!

I scheduled a trail ride for my brother and I and upon arrival we were greeted very kindly by the owner, Ms.Judy! The horses looked to be in great condition, well fed and very loved. Ms. Judy allowed my brother and I time to get comfortable with our horses and since my brother hadn t ridden much, he was able to get some time to learn the basics. The smile on his face when he trotted behind me for the first time was so awesome to capture. After that, we hit the trails and got many pictures of us, did some trotting, and had some fun in the fun area where barrels and cones were set up. Overall, the experience was very enjoyable, the staff was friendly, and the horses were very well behaved. Ms. Judy was a joy to meet and work with and has a lovely property. Thank you for such a fun experience!

Ms. Judy was recommended by trusted friends of ours and we couldn t have had a better time there if we tried! They were patient and kind, and taught us everything we needed to know as newbies. We wanted to ride to see if horses are something we might be interested in as a family, and our experience here sealed the deal- we re addicted! Highly recommend!

Went horse back riding with my niece and nephew; we all loved it! I would do it again and again! Well trained horses for all sizes. Lovely piece of land, overall great experience. I hope to do it again sometime.

Such a great experience! Ms. Judy was so amazing with my 6 year old today. Faith had a blast, I had a blast, even my husband had fun. It was a perfect time. We rode around inside a bit before going through a trail ride. They made sure we were comfortable before just letting us go. I cant wait to go back again.

Had a wonderful afternoon ride here! Miss Judy was a wonderful host and very friendly! She took plenty of pictures for us on our couples ride and the facility was very nice and comfortable. We will definitely be returning!

Some visits its been $70-$250 depending on whats happening. Fun times with great horses, Id recommend to trim some branches from potentially knocking someone out lol, and clear some cactus, as these paths are Loaded with them. These horses are smarter than your average Bear. And dont say giddy up, unless youre trained on hauling butt, as they are too fast for me. Great time for the family, personal lessons. My teen attends each month, he highly enjoys. Owner teaches how to take care, feed them, brush, responsibility of these precious animals. Thanks so much for making my 9 year old birthday party a smashing hit! They painted a Texas emblem on one of their horses like my 9 year old stuffed animal named LoneStar. Was the highlights in his life seeing LoneStar in person.

We got a group of us together and decided to sign up for the hour ride at Shockley Stables, and I ll tell you what .we will defenitely be repeat customers! They were so welcoming! All but one of us were new riders but left feeling super confident! The trails are well maintained and beautiful. We can t wait to go back!! Thank you guys for an amazing experience!

My son and I enjoyed our time with Ms. Judy and Jess last night. I am in town visiting and I really wanted to find something to do to make a great memory with my son. I found Ms. Judy and the farm online. Even our emails back and forth were fun. We learned so much and felt at ease on Bingo and Blue. A great place to get away and enjoy nature, the countryside and the horses. Take the time to connect with your family and friends here! You will not be disappointed!

If I could give zero I would. Several years ago my daughter attended the worst half horse camp half backwoods preaching camp, I can only imagine at this place. These people are the most unprofessional, rude, hateful, deplorable humans I have encountered. They made my daughter who has had a life long love for horses, never care about riding again. It is obviously only about the money to these crooks. Please do not send your children unattended unless you want their spirits broken. I am only posting this review because my daughter still talks about how bad the experience was.

This was so much more than what I was expecting. We paid for an hour ride, we were placed with a horse and was explained with great detail of how to make the horses react to our commands. We then got out on the trail and had the most wonderful experience just riding a horse. It felt as though the experience was tailored just for us, and it was amazing. I can t wait to come back!

This was one of the best experience...when riding! Not only did the owner share, one on one time with us. It was a personal feeling behind it. My family and I want to thank Judy & the staff for a time well spent. Loved the pictures. Priceless moments that last forever Have a blessed year!

Absolutely horrible experience, which started with the booking process. It took 3 days of emails to get our ride booked, and during this time i tried several times to call and speak to a person. I was told by Judy, when I requested a phone call, that she doesn t take bookings on the phone, because everything has to be recorded though email exchanges, even something as simple as booking a time slot. This sent several red flags up, but I continued with the process. Finally we got a time slot, and Judy sent me the links to sign the forms. The forms would not open, and that s where her attitude began. When I told her that they would not open, she responded with hmmmmm and several question marks, and things of that nature. She became very defensive. Still, against my better judgement, I proceeded with the process for our one hour horse ride, because my daughter desperately wanted to go. The morning of the ride, I got an email from Judy an hour before our ride, stating that the ride was cancelled due to the wind. I did not see that email, and my family pulled up to her home, where they were informed that they couldn t ride that day. Ok, that was inconvenience, but she said it was for safety reasons due to the wind . It was an almost 3 hour drive to the stable, so a little more notification would have been nice. I again asked Judy to call me, and during this time my family was driving around in Abilene, 3 hours away from our home, waiting to see if they could do the ride later in the day. No phone call. After a bit of driving around killing time, I told my family members to go ahead and come home. After that, Judy sent me several emails saying it was my fault that i was not notified earlier that morning about the ride being cancelled. She stated that when she asked me for my phone number via email the night before, that I did not respond to her. I told her the email with my phone number was sent to her exactly 9 minutes after she had asked for it, so there was no reason I was not notified earlier. She was extremely hateful, and very unprofessional in her next emails, and sent me a long laundry list of things that I had done wrong during the booking process . I promptly let her know how unprofessional she was, and responded with my own list of how horribly this whole thing had been handled. My daughter left there in tears, as this would have been her first horse ride. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK HERE, or you might also have a horrible experience. Stick with a more professional organization.

This was our first time riding horses, and it was a great time! Judy and all of the employees made us feel so welcome, and helped with any jitters. They were so wonderful with the kids- I wouldn t have changed a thing!

I took my daughter to the stable for her birthday. I could not have picked a better place! Ms. Judy stayed in touch as we scheduled our visit (even though it was last minute and we almost missed our chance to visit). When we arrived, she greeted us, made sure we understood how to lead our horse, and then shared her beautiful property with us as we rode the carousel, passed the cross, were a little adventurous up an incline or two, waded through water, and took pictures along the way. Other places weve visited felt like being at a place of business- there were safety precautions and beautiful trails to be sure- but Shockey Stables felt like being with family on an afternoon outing with the horses. Thank you, Ms. Judy, for making our visit memorable and so very special!!

Mrs. Judy and her staff are great. They made us feel at home from the first email we sent asking for information. Mrs. Judy takes the time to work with our daughter as well as the other students. We went to our first lesson on Wednesday and by the next day, our daughter was saying, I wish today was Wednesday again.
