An update on 9-26-24 I had a not so big and an order of rings. I barely finished the 6 ounce burger, and 3 or 4 rings were left. This is THE BEST BURGER in Abilene and for many miles around!!!! I wish they had a half order of rings. And no napkins on a to go order. Parking: Depends on the time. Lunch and dinner its busy.

Made a special trip here, twice. Last time they closed the doors all day for a plumbing repair. Not smart. 2nd trip, Rick and Carolyn are NOT present. Curious what steak fingers are, I asked to buy just those. NO! said the worker bee, $15 with fries, toast and gravy . Huh? Turns out it s just three SMALL pieces of chicken-fried steak (garbage beef, hammered to death, coated with flour and fried). What a disappointment. Giving them the finger!

We witnessed a cook smoking out back and doing a big puff of smoke right as he was going back in and then proceeded to witness the 2 cooks one being the smoker and the other wiping his nose but still proceeded to cook and scratch his head with his hat over the food cooking on the grill and we also been waiting 15 minutes for our order outside with orders in the window for the same amount of time we been waiting. More training and less wait time. People ordering inside getting their food before us. And we ordered 1st. 4/20/24 got a very rare cooked burger still had a heart beat almost, now I have to eat Ramen.

My husband wasnt so happy with other burger places, hes never had Rick & Carolyns Burgers, one day I had to introduce him to their menu and I promised that they had the best burger, hes hard to please when it comes to his burger, now all I can say he only eat from Rick & Carolyns, thank you guys, now I feel our money is well worth it, Great Place to get combos, at a reasonable price.

I went today 09/14/23 on my lunch break and the big burger was absolutely delicious. The fries tasted like old grease but that burger was the best I ve had in a LONG time. The burger made up for the fries, I wasn t even hungry after the burger anyway. The beautiful lady at the drive through window was super nice too.

I dont come in often because I moved out of town, but when I do, Im bringing my mom and stepdad dinner. I used to love eating here, and the food is actually pretty good. However, the staff is so rude and inattentive. My mother and I have life-threatening food allergies, and my mom is a regular customer. Her order rarely deviates, so when I picked it up and checked it for onions, which will kill her with the expectation of zero issues, the burger was covered in them. I returned to have the order remade, and the cashier rolled her eyes. The cook pretended to remake the burger, and my mother was left with food she could not eat after finding tiny chunks of onion in it before digging in. If she had not checked her food for little hidden pieces of onions, she would be dead. This place has gone so far downhill over the years, which sealed the deal on me never choosing to come here again. Epic fail all around.

This place is so good!! The staff was very friendly and helpful when we were ordering. We are definitely going to come back again. I absolutely loved the wall art inside. It looks like it was just painted and the inside was very clean. Their drive thru always had a car in it and phone was ringing off the hook so so expect a wait. The wait was worth it though!

Big portions for the money but dont offer to follow up with a dish of soft serve and then walk past the table half dozen times without bringing it. All in all a good meal. Before you ask... So the food is greasy goodness, the French fries so good, but I couldn t even ordered she cut off every word, said okay okay or tried to finish my sentence. Also, everything I tried to tell her, that she cut off , she didn t get right and it didn t get in the bag. So off we went, no napkins no condiments, no plastic wear. We always enjoy getting by Rick & Carolyns for a meal. On this particular visit, we both had the Not So Big 1/4 pound burgers, instead of the 1/2 pound Big Burgers. The food is always prepared fresh and comes out hot. One of my favorites, they took off the menu, the chilli dog. This was the best chilli dog you would find anywhere around Abilene. If you go in there and were used to the Great chilli dog, let them know, maybe we can get them to bring it back.

Rick and Carolyns has been around since I was a kid. It is still one of the best places in town to get a fresh off the grill, juicy, homemade burger. The atmosphere is nostalgic, and the service is far above most places in town. My husband and I go here at least once a week for dinner.
