FYI, no after hours, recording or ability to leave messages, however they have the same hours as the Outdoor Rec Call between 9-5 closed Wednesday and Sundays. Once you get through, they give you satisfactory service.

This RV Park does not have that many spaces, and most of them a for LONG TERM residents. I was told there are 2 sites for short stay. I spoke with one resident here who has been here a year. She told me you can stay as long as you want, just pay month to month, and it shows. All kinds of personal items are being stored under the RVs. Clothes lines stretched between the RV and the lantern posts full of closes. The only amenity was a laundry facility, men/womens bathroom with shower. The showers are private, but the dressing area is community. $35 is over priced. I cannot give a recommendation for Dyess AFB RV Park. It is nothing more than a parking lot with hookups. Before arriving we called to find out where to check in, we were told to just go to our site. No checkin was necessary.

Easy on and off access; we had a more than adequate pull-through for our 45-foot class A with a toad. There are back-in, too. Wide open, level spaces for the doggos to run and exercise. We were only there for an overnighter so I can t speak to the bath house or laundry facilities. Would love to visit longer. Each site has a picnic table and grill. The gentleman who made our reservation is absolutely amazing and efficient and personable!

I havent stayed here and wont because whomever set the rules of only allowing 30 days in advanced reservations knows nothing about the Lg RV camping lifestyle. LG campsites are very limited in every park across the country. You have to book months, sometimes 6-12 in advance to assure a Lg Camp site. I and others cannot wait until 30 days before then find you have no spots then the commercial rv parks around Abilene have no sites either. Youve effectively blocked Lg RV campers out of your park: because Ill need to book a sure thing out in your community now: months in advance of my planned stayed. Very Disappointing.

Very nice, clean camp for Air Force Base. Although security makes it hard to get RV through main gate, once on base it is simple maneuvering. Famcamp is close to main entrance, but shuts down at 600pm and Tye gate is used. Visitors, if you have not registered at Visitors Center must have military or DOD/VA identification. Once registered it is good for 3 years. Civilian visitors must also register to receive daily passes on post. Sites are well laid out and concrete pads, very level and electric boxes are 30/50 on the same pedistal, but on opposite sides of pedistal and covered. Nice park and easy to get in and put of.

Clean campground, well setup. All arrangements and billing were done on the phone so we never saw anyone working there. The main gate was closed and under construction and we didnt know the area so it was a bit of a shock trying to figure out how to get on base.

Price is good, but it is bare bones. Had a reservation and a site number, but when we got there, nobody there so followed the instructions to check in. The instructions were park wherever you want, complete the paperwork and pay, drop in box. What if it was full when we got there??? People pulling in might have taken our reservation! They need to fix that!!!

The base needs to put up signs that direct you to the actual Fam Camp. With construction going on and lack of signs made it very frustrating to find the place.

We rate it at 4 and a 1/2. Need better access to and from the fam camp with the right turns, its hard to make A 90 turn at Arnold boulevard. Need to let people know which gate to use. Using the commercial gate (Tye or North gate). It was hard to maneuver around barriers at the main gate.

This is a nice campground; easy to access, with mostly pull thru sites. Both nights we stayed were very windy. Trees or shrubs could be planted in the vacant field to create a windbreak. Otherwise, this is a great place to stay for a few nights.

Please consider changing your policy. This fam camp is always full and should require full timers to exit the park for 30 days after a period of 6 months to give other military families the same opportunities. Just like all other bases. Currently full timers only have to exit ONE day before signing on for another 6 months. Therefore zero opportunity for others to get a spot.

A simple RV site. Got what we needed for staying without any other extras. Had showers, restrooms, and a laundry room. Pull throughs were a good size. The sewer hook up was a plus at the site. Will be going back.

This is a great camp. The officers at the RV check in gate were friendly and helpful. The camp sites are drive through and spacious. The hookups are all in one spot. Several young families love on site which I like to see. Ingenious way to use baq. Landry on site, bathrooms are clean and roomy. You cannot go through the main gate, but access is easy and well paved. If you leave with your RV after hours, you will need to call security. Other wise after unhooking you can go in and out the main gate. You will like Dyess.

This is a small RV park approx 30 sites. The sites are very spacious with plenty of room for parking extra vehicles. The park is well maintained. Shower, restrooms and laundry mat are close by. There is a small body of water near by if you like to fish. Also, close by is a display of airplanes . We enjoyed this quiet FAMCAMP. We highly recommend this park and we will be back.

GPS (Garmin) wouldnt take me to the main gate. But once there, I got good directions to the FamCamp and slid right into my site, which was big enough to stay hitched up for the night when parked diagonally. Arrived on Wednesday when the office was closed, but my wife had made a reservation by phone the previous day and paid then. I never met the staff. Couldnt tell its a B-1 Bomber base - quietest place Ive ever stayed at! Neighbors were friendly and helpful - its a small park with no tent sites or scenery either. The facilities are clean and convenient from any site. The base is big and spread out, so a bike is needed to visit the Base Exchange area, if you dont unhitch. It was easy in, easy out and I had a quiet restful night before moving on. So, no complaints...

Management is terrible! Prices are higher than other famcamps. Dont miss the turn to go into the camp ground, because the so called turn around has a grand canyon that will kill your camper...something the management has known about for months!!! Staff is always right, so dont bother...
