Went for brunch and the restaurant was quiet in terms of people, so parking was relatively easy to find. The food was good, but a little bland. The music was too loud, and I felt like I was having to talk over the music. Service was great, and the wait staff were very kind and friendly.

This fun little Mexican restaurant had an extensive menu and friendly staff. Their mole enchiladas were delicious along with their crispy chips. The restaurant has a great location, between a hotel, Texas-themed gift shop, and the dr pepper museum. The restaurant has its own small parking lot and more street parking available nearby.

As locals we brought visiting family to dine in. (Table of 6)(Not our first time) Although seated quickly, it took a while to receive service. Our server was nice. Food was brought out at different times (I finished mine before the last person received their food), and some of the side dishes were missing. At the end we decided it may be awhile before we decide to try it again.

me and my boyfriend were shopping nearby at the magnolia market and wanted some tacos so we stopped in here. the service was alright at first, but the waitress didnt seem like she was very happy to be there or serve us. we got our food pretty quickly but to our surprise it was COLD. the rice had no flavor and it was just not great. we decided to talk to a manager and a sweet lady came up and talked to us and was very reasonable and completely understood our frustrations and even told us they were going to take care of our meal. after she left, i asked the host for a to go salsa container and some chips. instead, our original waitress came up and plopped a bag down on the table and when i opened it, there was a tiny bag of chips(like maybe only 3 chips) and two tiny containers both only had like a drop of salsa and bean dip. so dont come here, if u are at the silos and wanting tacos take the extra mile and go farther down the street and go somewhere else to save urself the struggle of eating here.

Poor experience. Exclaimed it would take upwards of 45 minutes to seat us so we proceeded to point out the 6 open tables. Yes 6. They seated us shortly after. Forget food items and we had to remind them. Brought out the food for all of our party but 1. She was left waiting 20 more minutes than everyone due to them giving it to the complete wrong table and the rest of us were finished eating by the time they realized. I personally made 1 minor request for my food and they managed to mess it up. They did not simply forget, they changed something I didn t ask for and didn t fix what I did ask for. Will not be returning.

Very disappointed with service and food. After reading good reviews online, my family and I met in the middle here, traveling from Dallas and Killeen for an early Mothers day lunch. We had a long wait to get a table even though it was fairly empty. Our table of 5 adults 1 child was served 1 small bowl of chips and salsa, and had our orders taken. Never any mention of appetizers or the free sweet tea advertised outside on the menu or from the server. About 30 minutes later, flagged down the server for more chips and salsa. Was served 2 bowls with chips on top and crumbs underneath...seriously. Then another long wait, almost an hour total to get food. The rice was just boiled white rice with frozen peas and carrots in it. No seasoning AT ALL!! The refried beans have corn in it! I could go on and on. Terrible from beginning to end. Felt like I wasted my money. We were still hungry when we left!

I thought I would have been impressed with the food and drink; unfortunately, not the case. The service at the bar was lacking. The one item I ordered from the menu was not very tasty. The staff should be taught to pre-bus the dining area and definitely refrain from dropping the check with the entire dinner s dishes still in from of the diner. I specifically left 15 percent on the subtotal. Step it up Hecho en Waco. I won t return.

The first time I went to Hecho En Waco 3 years ago it was amazing. The food was good, the customer service was good, and the price was passable... But ever since my first experience, everything has gone down hill. Food is cold and expensive, no one comes to serve us for over 45 minutes (I had to ask the manager for help after workers ignored us after two different visits), and this last time they provided no chips and no salsa and they ran out of almost all the menu food we wanted (when we said we were going to leave they magically had the food we wanted... but still no chips and salsa... the food came out cold and we still paid full price)... This restaurant is frustrating because when it is good (which is rare), its really good... but it mostly dissapoints with poor customer service and poor food consistency.

This comes from another member in our party, but I can corroborate this. The amount of bad stuff that happened here is almost comical... First we had paid for a large room as we had 12 in our party, when we got to the restaurant, the staff didnt believe we had the room booked until we showed them the email confirmation. Then they scrambled to find us a table, where they put us in the back with some DJ playing very loud music for another group. They gave us a table for 10 people, which is fine because 2 people didnt show up. Heres where the fun begins, the waitress spilled the entire plate of drinks on a member of our party, and didnt apologize until we got the manager involved. The manager only told us the classic were understaffed excuse everyone says after covid. (Fine, we had a large party and lots of drinks, but thats no excuse to lose a paid reservation and spill drinks on us without apologizing). But wait, it gets better... After our food came out, a member in our party had ordered the carne asada, and it was as edible as a lump of coal! They had sent it back, and when it returned, it was only cooked medium-well, so it was sent back AGAIN in favor of the guac, which also was not great. Then our drink reorder came out after we finished the food, and guess what... it was wrong! In the end, the bill was wrong and we were so tired of the service here that we didnt contest it. They said they comped the room and an extra $100 for all the trouble, but because they put the order wrong on the toast tablet, we ended up getting only $27 off. Youre better off getting Mexican food anywhere else. Youre in Texas, shouldnt be that hard.

For starters, we were seated immediately which was nice then after 15 minutes the manager came by and asked if we d been helped yet. Then after another 3 minutes our waiter came by with water dropped them off and said she d be right back. Then the manager came by again and I asked if we could at least have some chips and salsa. After another 7 minutes we were able to order. The food was decent just poor and slow service including not refilling my soda when it was empty.

We had an old fashioned, peach margarita, and Mexican martini. These were some of the best drinks we have had. All of the flavors were perfectly balanced. These were top quality cocktails. The food was excellent as well. Well seasoned, cooked perfectly, and great blend of flavors. Unfortunately had to several times flag down someone for help with 2-4 workers standing at the hostess counter. Overall it was an ok dining experience. Just would have nice to have the server acknowledge us as she walks by without even looking at us while I m waving at her to get her attention. Another bad issue is we had to park 2 blocks away because parking was very limited, but the walk was good for us even though it was 40 degrees out.

First of all when you have large groups it seems the experience is never as good as it could be. With that being said the wait on the food that we ordered seemed long. We had 18 in our group. We were there 2 hours from start to end. The menu prices were good ( I thought ) then I got got charged extra for quac and sour cream $2.50 a piece. Tea was $4.00. So the reasonable price suddenly was about what any other Mexican restaurant would be. Waitress was nice, but had to many tables so couldn t keep up with our drinks etc. I m sure if it had been a smaller group it would be a much better experience.

It was like the scraps of a dish spread around to look like a full serving. Not tender at all. Cost about $42 including tip for a quick lunch for two. They re riding proximity to the Silos. Potato egg was the same and just scrambled eggs were the same. We ordered pancake plate and it came with one slice of bacon and the overcooked scrambled eggs. I think the eggs are kept in a steam table in the kitchen and not made fresh. The cheese is not cheddar and is American cheese. We will try again another time for lunch or dinner just to give it a chance.

My husband and I came to Hecho En Waco for dinner during our wedding anniversary Silo-bration last weekend. Its down the block from Silos District. We sat out on the patio since the weather was perfect. They have great food and amazing service! Definitely recommend!

Went here on a visit with family. Thankfully the price was good but it was some of the most bland food I ve ever had. Good portion size. I got Huevo Ranchero and it was the most phoned in and bland Mexican food I ve ever had. Overall vibe and location were great.

Medicare and bland food, service was poor and had to wait some time for drink refills, asked for straws and never got them. Food was very bland, the steak fajita meat that came with a combo plate was over cooked and so chewy it was basically inedible. Disappointing tourist trap. Go somewhere else.

Great fast service & perfect lunch portions. I had the tacos and my husband had the gringo steak burrito. Both of us kept looking at each other the whole like, OMG YUM! We got salsa, chips and the best refried bean/cream corn like dip that I couldnt leave alone. SO good!!! I would totally recommend this place!

I came and had a great time! My server Caroline was very quick and nice. And the bartender Dom was very personable and made a great experience with our drinks! Everything was coming out at such a great pace, very chill. Honestly, 10 out of 10, would recommend! Caroline our server was the funniest server weve ever had, made us laugh all night, and Dom the bartender was very attentive!! He sat down and talked with us a little, genuinely love the family environment!! Will be back soon!!

We were in town today and I was looking for a brunch place after checkout from our hotel. After finding and seeing so many good reviews on google I was really excited to try this place. So we went to try it out. It was really nice. They have outside seating and the inside restaurant area was very nice, great atmosphere. I went in with really high hopes and they fell completely short. We were seated and It took 15-20 mins for someone to help us, at that we grabbed a waiter that walked by because they just kept walking past us. The waiter we grabbed went and got our waiter that was supposed to be serving us. That was the 1st red flag. Mind you went went about 10 am. When we arrived, there wasnt alot of people in the restaurant. Finally, our waiter arrived and took our order. She brought our beverages, and after bringing our beverages she took our order. Then she was no where to be found. We never got a refill during this time period of waiting for our food and didnt see her again until our food was brought to us. We were served and she then refilled us. Then disappeared again. My expectations where high especially with hispanic/mexican people running this establishment. I ordered Posole verde and there was more hominy than chicken. The hominy was not well cooked so it was grainy, the broth was bland. They served it with purple onion and lettuce and a slice of lime. I requested cabbage but she said they didnt do cabbage. Fine.. Not that big of a deal I just ate it without the lettuce. My husband ordered Huevos divorciados. I tried the chile verde egg and again the salsa was bland and seemed like all they used was blended tomatillo so it was sour and bland. My husband said the red one was a little better but it was more of a tomato sauce compared to rotel.. My daughter kept it simple with pancakes, scrambled eggs, and sausage. She had no complaints. We finished and kept waiting for our waiter to pass to get the ticket but she was no where to be found. Finally she was spotted and my husband waved her down requesting the ticket to leave. So we thought she went to get it, but Instead she went and took another tables order. She seemed overwhelmed so early in the morning. After she took the order to the other table she never came back and once again my husband went chasing her down and told her we were ready to go. He said she was around the corner cleaning. So she brought the ticket. I paid and we left. The customer service was horrible, The food was edible but not great at all. If I am in Waco again I will definitely find somewhere else to eat. Its really shocking that this place was packed by the time we left. To each their own but Ill never eat there. I will say Waco has many great dining places but this is not one of them. Reconsider spending your money here. Another review stated they cater to they Magnolia crowd if you know what I mean. I couldnt agree more.

Food: Over priced for the quality and quantity Service: Awkward experience through the day. Walked to front desk to pay but they insisted to wait for the server and proceeded to wait 10minutes. Atmosphere: Disfunctional ordering system no idea what to get with awful online menu. Didnt not get seated, had to ask what to do after 5 minutes. Not worth your time.

BYOS (Bring your own spices!) My hubby and I ordered the steak fajitas to share which comes with rice, charro beans, guac, and tortillas. TASTELESS fajitas which had a blue iridescent sheen to them (?!) Strange colors for beef. Bland, no flavor for any of the dishes, not even some garlic powder added? c mon!! The strawberry frozen margarita I ordered, on the other hand, was DELICIOUS! This is a great place sit at the bar for drinks and chips. Atmosphere is mostly families with small kids during the week. Very RELAXED atmosphere, shorts and flip flop crowd. Prices are inexpensive. I guess you get what you pay for! Seriously, though, have one of the frozen margaritas with an extra shot of tequila and I m sure the blue iridescent beef fajitas will seem palatable afterwards! Kid-friendliness: Bring your kids; it s loud in this place! No one will notice your screaming kid.

Food was alright, not authentic. San Antonio is my hometown and Ive tasted authentic. Service.... Server was nice but never gave us a drink refill. Prices are high. Wife didnt have phone service so we ordered off menu. Prices were good off the menu but when we received the check, all the food went up by $3. Sodas (even kids) $3 each. Wondered why a family of 4 (with a 10 & 5 yo was $80+) Then printout shows 20, 25 & 30% tip? When did tips go from 10 & 12% to that?

Diana was awesome! We sat for a just a moment after they brought us the best bean dip and salsa and chips and she saw us waiting and jumped right in. She apologized to us and told us she was the manager and she was taking care of us! The cocktails were fresh and delicious and the fish tacos were the best we have eaten! We are just on our way to Austin and stopped for lunch and we are already planning our next visit to Hencho De Waco on the way back!! Thank you Prince/Princess Diana!
