Brought our god daughter here for lunch today and wow! She s only 11 months so not quite old enough to love the atmosphere as much as we definitely did. Service was impeccable they rearranged seating to accommodate us perfectly. Our drinks were never low and the sweet ladies at the front held the doors open for us as we left. We will definitely be back soon!

We had reserved a table weeks in advance for family and friends to celebrate, and we got mediocre food at ridiculous prices and poor service. Not once was my water refilled or was I asked if Id like another drink. This was extremely embarrassing as I watched my guests and the honorees not finish their food and not request to-go boxes. I will not return and wouldnt advise anyone to waste their evening or wallet.

Great place to come and dine! Attended there for a wedding reception.Upstairs floor area Only issue was the AC went out and wasnt working too well and so most of the party left early due to it being hot in the room.Bar area was cool with the ac working well. Best thing about this place is the lovely views. They had a musician playing upstairs in looking down onto the first floor where the restaurant was. Overall great place and have been advised the views are spectacular during Fall season when looking across the lake. Would recommend to anyone!

The place was so hot, the service people had never worked a wedding reception ever it seemed. The Manager only showed after the whole event collapsed and most people went home. Apparently this is not the place to have a wedding reception. The only good thing was the food, but it was Mexican cuisine which is fairly simple. I would never recommend this place to a couple looking for a venue.

We ate here for brunch for Father s Day and the food was absolutely dreadful. We were a party of 8 and not a single one of us liked their food. The food was brought out on a cafeteria looking lunch cart, with some food close to the floor, and they were mostly lukewarm. It clearly looked like all dishes had been microwaved. On top of that we had to wait around 30-40 mins for the food and our server was hardly seen. Super disappointed in this restaurant and will most definitely NOT be back, for what they charge it s definitely not worth it. Better off going to Taco Bell! (Also, two of our party had to wait 30 mins to get their change back after paying, smh)

We are here for brunch for Father s Day and it really put a damper on the celebrations. The food was HORRIBLE. Out of a table of 8 people, only 1 person actually liked their food. The service took SO LONG even though there were barely any people in the restaurant. The food is overpriced for how trash it is, and you re really just paying for the view which is nice. I will never be coming back here and I wouldn t recommend that anyone else come here as well.

Parking: They have more than enough parking for any event Kid-friendliness: We had a large group of kids and they had a blast and plenty of room to play. With the exception of getting stung by some Yellowjacket s all was good Wheelchair accessibility: There is ample provision for wheelchair and handicap. Without a doubt the worst buffet for Mother s Day in the history of buffets and Mother s Day. The Food was served late. It Was cold! No salt and pepper on tables. Service was terrible! The combination of food was outrageous. I ve eaten at dozens of brunches and I would never even classify this as a brunch. Food was tasteless, lukewarm and the eggs were so hard that your toe would have been broken if you dropped a spoonful! Sorry for Being so critical but at 25.00 a pop you expect at least a fizz! Trust me there s no pop or fizz but a dull thud! The next time you want to treat your mom go to the Golden Corral. This may seem cheap but she ll forever be grateful knowing that the Lago Del Pitiful didn t host her! However if you hate your mother in law please insist you take her there. After the brunch without the crunch you can at least show her the lake in back in case she needs to barf! Good eating!!

The building is beautiful. The location and view is great. However, I booked a reservation for Mothers Day for 3pm. The building was completely silent on the inside, no music, so you could hear the people around you whispering and chewing. When we showed up and were seated the waitress got our drink order and told us that they were only serving BUFFET today! The website says nothing about them doing a buffet, it only shows their menu. We go look at the buffet and it looks like something you would find at a backyard cookout. Aluminum tins of food over heating canisters. Food like macaroni, fried chicken, toast etc. All set up on a few tables with plates at one end. This place has so much potential and they threw it all away with the horrible food set up. A restaurant this beautiful, where the inside felt like someone set food trays on a table in their garage. We left and found somewhere else to eat.

Our reservation was at 2 and we didnt get food until 4 in an empty restaurant. The food was fine, even though we had to send multiple items back and have it fixed. The service was poor. We learned it was a new server put on a 20 top and bless her soul she was trying but needed support. Our tickets were repeatedly wrong, drink orders wrong and left to until watered down due to our server not having support. This left a bad taste in our mouth for my grandparents anniversary dinner, and we drove down from Austin to celebrate with them. Our server needs a hug and better support system, and more training. ETA: whats upsetting more is asking for the manager and instead of talking to the group, they only talked to one person and kept walking away back and forth when I asked multiple times where the manager is. Then in earshot of my family they tried to accuse us of not paying for items on our tickets, so I spoke up stating I can prove we could with out receipts.

I m leaving this review more for feedback. We went for dinner this weekend. The restaurant was so cold inside, my fiancé and I never removed our winter coats. The hostess had a portable heater at her desk, and wait staff had ear warmers, fleece jackets, and sweats / flannels on. The live music was at such a high volume, we were unable to talk across our table to one another for our date, and we were not in the same room as the band. I started to feel a headache and just wanted to leave. All for a band- but very loud volume. The drinks were very good, as well as our appetizer. The waitress was kind. For the price of the meals, this isn t a place we would return to, due to atmosphere, as well as quality of the entrees. We really wanted to like this spot, so that s why we are taking the time for feedback.

the restaurant was very beautiful and aesthetically pleasing, that being said the food was absolutely terrible especially for the amount you re paying. the catfish was mushy, the lobster mac and cheese was unseasoned and cheese-less, the rice seemed like it came out of the box, and the carne asada was the size of a childs palm and tasteless. overall the wait staff was very friendly, though we waited over an hour for our food just to be told that some options weren t available, and subsequently only serving the options they had. This place seems more like somewhere you could get a pretty instagram picture, than to actually have a nice meal. Save your money and go to Little Caesars around the corner like we did after dinner .

We had a party of about 25 maybe 30 for my best friends birthday. We had a reservation and we were all there they gave us one waitress and a waiter in training. We had been there 45 minutes to an hour before they even started taking orders. After taking orders it was another 45 minutes before most of us got our food although my food was good it was cold! The one waitress saved overwhelmed and the waiter in training was not much out. It must go without saying to have a party that large and only give us one waitress shows a lacking management. Although this is a beautiful establishment the service and presentation could use a lot of work. And on top of all of that due to our party being so large the waitress was given a gratility for sub-par work . They disappeared for long lengths of time and we did not see them . I for one as well as my family were not pleased with the service.

Lago del Pino is a beautiful, sprawling restaurant on a lake that immediately evokes a sense of elegance. However, the restaurant really comes up short. I arrived on a Friday night at 6:30 PM and the restaurant was almost empty. I got a sense from the hostess and waitress that it is a family run business, and I commend them on the construction of the building and venue. It s really beautiful. However, the food is really not good. I ordered their classic margarita on the rocks, and it was served to me in a mason jar with way too much ice and a straw. Honestly, I don t think there was any alcohol in it. It was like drinking a juice concoction. For starters, I had a cup of their tortilla soup. It was served to me with the spoon in the cup, and the spoon was a teaspoon. The chef put shredded queso on top, and it melted, and became a wad of goo that made the soup inedible. But even without the queso snafu, the recipe was no good. It was the worst tortilla soup I ve ever had. Additionally, no chips and salsa were offered for the table. To me, this is part of Mexican cuisine. It s like going to an Italian restaurant and having no bread for the table. For my main course, I ordered the Carne Asada. My thinking was that, since I was visiting Texas, I d benefit from some good beef. This was not good beef. The steak was awful. It was almost frightening to eat. It was like orc meat. It was served with refried beans and Mexican rice, which were OK, as well as a cheese enchilada with Molé sauce. The cheese enchilada was not cooked enough, and the cheese inside was not melted. I had hoped that the food would be good enough to order dessert, because I saw that they had Tres leches cake, which I love. However, there was no way I was going to give that a try after going zero for three on my drink, soup, and main course. I stopped at Dairy Queen and got a strawberry cheesecake blizzard on the way back to my hotel room. People will complain about the price, but the price really isn t the problem. I spent about $35, which I would ve gladly spent if all three of the things I ate and drank were excellent. If the food was amazing, it would be a bargain. All in all, this is a restaurant that could be absolutely brilliant. The restaurant itself and its location are amazing. I got the impression that the people who own it are probably nice people. However, the chef and the bartender both have to go. They need Gordon Ramsay to show up, and save this place from itself. On a Friday and Saturday night, it should be packed. The only reason it s not is because the food is really terrible. I hope the best for them, but, dear readers, I would not try this restaurant until you start seeing reviews after this one that Say that the food has gotten better.

I really wish the owner would look at the Google reviews. This place has so much potential. Takes 15-20 minutes just for a waiter to bring water. Finished drink glasses and plates arent taken away- just left on your table throughout the entire meal. The mixed drinks are incredibly watered down. I emailed in multiple times to try to get a reservation and by the time I was emailed back, the date had already passed. Beautiful location but the staff is incredibly inattentive. How do you leave empty drink glasses and appetizer dishes on the table for the entire meal??

Our first time here, from out of town. Each staff member was so pleasant and friendly. We had the place literally to ourselves on a Thursday night and enjoyed the very pleasant, cool evening on the lower patio. The lake with the twilight in the background was gorgeous. My strongest impression from that evening is mixed messages. The venue setting is gorgeous with the patio, the lake, the wee walking bridge and gazebo, the fish jumping, tree silhouettes in the evening light, fireplace and strung patio lights with mixed soft seating. Fabulous. Attentive, friendly staff only adds to the charm. However, the menus had crossed off items, the paper in mine had been wrinkled by the printer and I couldnt quite read it, giving a shabby feel to the lovely setting. Matching the menus, the food was truly meh. The drinks we got were different and tasty. The fajitas, meh. The avocado egg rolls and the guac seemed out of the freezer and Sams club quality. I felt truly let down after all of the reviews about how amazing the food is. In fact, wed planned to go twice in our long weekend visit: an evening and Sunday brunch, but after the ho-hum dinner, nah. And maybe that was our mistake. I will say the pozole was really tasty and did seem more chef prepared. I loved the authentic toppings and the serving was generous. We ordered dessert to go: tres leches and sopapilla cheesecake. We enjoyed both, but I did not care at all for the chocolate topping on the tres leches. Caramel or traditional would have been perfect! The prices are quite reasonable, coomparably speaking. Honestly, I dont believe I would have felt so let down if the reviews had matched our experience. Were not foodies, per se; however we cook from scratch and view going out to eat as a treat. The ambience and the staff, the reasonable prices still make this a win!

This place is beautiful, but chairs dishelved waiter was fishing seriously a nice guy but his head wasnt in the game of his job. My husbands ribye was so thin like a breakfast steak and almost full of fat he was disappointed, also had to gobin and get clean silverware dirty fork dried food on it. My meatloaf was good and strawberry mojito was good. These things arent a deal breaker, but for 90.00$ youd better get a better menu during tge week and if i want Mexican food Id go to that restaurant. I mean were in Texas that Ribye looked sad. But Id still tell folks to try it for tge view its nice, but this was my anniversary dinner and yall were sub par. Hope you get things together there.

Beautiful place and excellent service just wish the food lived up to how beautiful this place was. I expected more out of the food..Had a birthday dinner party for 30 and everyone wasn t pleased with the food. The only thing great were the steak fajitas. But it was very basic, and choices were so limited. That was what disappointed me the most. If they can just take it up a notch with better quality foods and more choices then they can thrive more. Other than that I may as well go to a local cheaper restaurant for the quality we were served. When they have more and better quality I ll be back but until then I have to say it s a hard pass and hard NO. Wheelchair accessibility: I was glad to see how this place had wheelchair accessibility

The host Christy (spelled right?) took it upon herself to get our party fit in right when we wanted despite a miscommunication with reservations made earlier in the week. She simply said come on and we will make it work. The waitstaff was attentive and we lacked nothing. Not if, but when you go there try the meatloaf. Hands down the best Ive ever eaten. Fact is Ive never had a bad meal in the years of visiting Lago.

Went with a party of 12 and won t be back. Service was bad, it took 30 minutes just to come take our drink order then another 15-20 to bring them to the table. We were there over an hour before they came to take our food order. Drink refills were non existent. Food wasn t worth the price per plate. There were also tons of gnats everywhere at our table inside the restaurant swarming our food. On top of all of this they weren t even that busy. There were open tables all over the place.

Bland and no taste. Chips were stale. Finally after a full hours we got out dinner. Had to get the manager to find out what was taken so long. Only 1 other table had people. They actually got their dinner before us. Very disappointed in their good for price.

So the waiter and manager was very excellent and understanding at Lago del Pino but they charged $26 dollars for fajitas that you only get 8 shrimps and the rice was not fully cooked. The guacamole was already turning brown. And the alcohol you only get a small glass, but like sodas you get a bigger glass. We wasn t happy at all for our first time so we went to Abuelos that we got excellent services and paid $25 for trios fajitas with a lot of meats, etc and larger glasses of alcohol. It will be my very last time there. Oh, my friend order Chicken Quesadilla and it was a child meal like child bites with barely any chicken inside. Never ever again.

Sour cream enchiladas were cold, frozen corn for the elote, seasonal vegetables were thinly sliced and salt less. Dessert was blah. Cheesecake was awful. It tasted like the cheapest cream cheese available was used to make it. You could see the lines from being plastic wrapped in the refrigerator with the same odors seeping through. I wouldnt return for dining. Nice location to cater food to for events.

Its very rare to say that everything youve tried was very good but thats exactly how it is at Lago del Pino. Attended our 50th HS reunion here. The steak and chicken fajitas were excellent. From our waiter to the mixologist and the drinks. Every bit of the experience was amazing. Everyone was really professional and always timely in asking if we needed anything. The wait staff should definitely be highlighted and acknowledged for their outstanding customer service skills. Its very rare to try various drinks and all of them be delicious and filled with a nice portion of alcohol. Excellent job! No complaints from end to end and top to bottom.

Beautiful property, grounds and buildings. Entire dining experience was awful. Made reservations for mothers day a week+ out, get there and no one knows anything and 1/2 the dining room was closed & were told 1st come. So we were sat on the patio in the direct sun with a 1 year old and 3 year old. Supposedly umbrellas were damaged in previous weeks storms - dont know for sure. No menus for the day, just either bar food OR Brunch buffet. Buffet was all horrible except the toast; dont even think the eggs were real eggs. Bacon was completely soggy with grease. No condiments on tables, no ketchup, salt, pepper, NOTHING! Mimosas were warm so they were no good either. Waiter was improperly dressed and lacked in all minimal skills to do the job decent. Waited and waited for a baby chair for table, so got up & got one for ourselves (should have been done by hostess, if she had her job too). Then later, waitress brings one..... It was as though they where ill-equipped & unprepared for the days event. Very disappointing experience for our 1st time visiting - so dont see going back & spending that kind of money for such a poor experience...!

First experience eating at Lago del Pino on Mothers Day 2022, and we will not return. Made reservations on April 20, 2022, weeks in advance. Received multiple email reminders that our reservation was coming up. Called a couple days prior to to confirm the reservation and left a voicemail. Never received a call back. When we arrived on Mothers Day at our scheduled time at 10:30 AM, the hostess said they received our reservation, however they weren t accepting reservations due to the Mothers Day holiday. They could have blocked the ability to make reservations online and at the very least called me back. Therefore, the hostess said either wait an hour for a table inside (which was not busy at all) or eat outside. Since we were meeting other family, we decided to eat outside. They put us directly in the sun, and when we asked to move to the shade, they were unwilling to move tables. When we asked for an umbrella, all of them broke in the storms a couple weeks ago. As we were finishing our food, there was large crowds of people being seated inside, and it had not been a full hour wait. Further the orange juice was warm (not chilled), food was mediocre, and the waitress was wearing athletic shorts, very unprofessional for a supposed nice restaurant.

Looked miserable, barely acknowledged us, failed to bring a high chair, childrens menu and silverware for us. Waitress was great. Like many restaurants, woefully understaffed. She held her own considering she had a large party of 14 and our table of 4. Dolly Parton salad was a great portion and made with fresh vegetables. Salsa and chips were excellent. Street tacos were okay. Needed more flavor. Tortilla soup was delicious.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. The entire place was dirty, the service was horrendous, the drinks were watered down & the food was not great. The service was so slow and staff just stood around looking annoyed when a table would need something. Our food was cold and could have been made at a fast food tex-mex place. In fact, that probably would have been a better option. They didn t have any drafts available, several wines were out & the menu had items blacked out from an already limited selection. We had a table of 10 that was ready to order quickly and be in & out quickly so we could go to the next thing on our agenda. We were there for 3.5 hours just because of how long everything took to get - took an hour to get drinks. Not to mention we were one of like 10 tables in the place - not busy at all for a Friday night. I would never go back except to stop and take a picture. The worst nice restaurant I ve ever been to.
