The history as well as the unwritten history about the McClendon house and surrounding property are two reasons why I give this 4 out of 5 stars. Youll have to do a little digging for the historical facts that were left out in the books

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed having Rick and Larry guide us through this beautiful home. Both gentlemen made the visit extremely interesting through their story telling and gave us both a peek into the families that lived there and what life was like over the past 100+ years.

Nice house and tour, but a little pricey for the tour you get. Compared to other house tours like Goodman-LeGrand home in Tyler or the McFaddin-Ward house in Beaumont.

I am an American History teacher from Wisconsin and I stopped by on a Sunday during the Azalea Fair. We received a guided 60 min. tour from a gentleman who told the story of the house! Very intriguing story from beginning to the end. Make sure to sit on the porch and take in the porch life of East Texas!
