About the Company
rating: 4.8
Play Street Museum is an interactive children’s museum and indoor play area purposefully designed to encourage a young child’s sense of independence, exploration, and creativity. By narrowing the focus of our children’s museums and indoor play areas to the interests and imaginations of children 8 and under, young explorers will discover educational exhibits and activities in a world specifically crafted just for them. Because of our deliberate and manageable scale, kids are able to self navigate to engage deeply in activities about which they are most interested and passionate. This freedom reinforces independence in the child and also has the benefit of creating a more relaxed and accommodating museum experience for the caregiver.

We had such a great time! It was so clean and organized and my kids loved it! We went with friends and it was smaller than I thought but I liked that. I could see my kids who went to different areas. I loved the art section as well! So many different things to do and play and at first I thought 90 minutes wouldn t be enough time but it was actually the perfect amount of time.

I love this unique playscape/museum. It s so nice for kids, especially toddlers, to enter a space where they can freely touch and play with anything, even stuff that looks like it belongs in the adult world. . It has everything kids naturally want play with, like toy recycling items they can dump, kitchen items, pantry with food , mini wash machine with clothes, doctors equipment, all kinds of cooking gear, large fire truck and recycle truck with all the stuff etc.. plus trains and a crafts center. The play centers look very real, and don t have the plastic kid stoves and other stuff you see around. It s all wood and beautifully crafted and scaled to size perfectly but large enough for adults to go inside the rooms too. My toddler is so excited and loves every minute of it. I wish his classroom was this magical.

The play areas are well designed and the kids had a lot of fun, but they definitely do not clean in between the sessions and there aren t any dedicated bins for sanitizing toys that kids put in their mouth like we ve seen at other facilities.

My son is 5 and he loved playing here! We signed up for 2 of the extra activities and he loved them. I also really like that they close between play sessions because that makes it much easier to leave if you have a child had a hard time leaving fun places. We will definitely visit again!

Our family loves Play Street Museum in Sunset Valley! Weve been bringing our son to play here since he was 9mo, and recently held his 2nd birthday party here too. When we come for open play, the space always feels bright, clean, and welcoming and the staff is always warm and helpful. They rotate out new toys and learning materials / subject matter regularly which I know I and many other parents appreciate SO much! Our recent experience booking a private birthday party was excellent as well. We so appreciate the ownership and staff of this establishment for creating a high-quality, fun, flexible, and safe environment for children here in Austin!

My son and I loved this place. We came in after the session had already started, but the young lady who greeted us asked if it was okay. There was only an hour left to play. There were quite a few folks already having fun. The only huge disadvantage that i see in most play areas is how parents dont watch their kids. And this time, unfortunately, wasnt the exception. I didnt appreciate the kids that were mean to my son without a reason and the worse, and when the parents noticed and didnt bother to offer an apology. i understand theyre little people learning, but you can teach manner to your kids such a young age. Wed most likely return and hope we dont encounter rude and irresponsible parents again.

Beautiful mocks of the houses and shops. But not enough toys inside of them to play. Very few toys and items for kids to interact. It is good for pictures. But the supermarket for instance looked like a looted supermarket. Very few things. All toys dirty. Not sure how often they wash them. For the price I expected more. The ice cream shop the same, few tools, few things for pretend play.

Myself and my husband took my daughter (2yr t and son (4yrs) for a Saturday morning and had a great time! Everything was clean and well kept and there was a variety of activities and toys for the kids to play with. My only criticism is that there aren t many places for parents to sit or event stand compared to how many kids they let in at a time. Despite that, I would definitely recommend to others and we will be back!

Great and safe for kiddos, especially during time of summer. Took my 3 daughters (ages 3-7) for the first time, on a Saturday and found the place to be very fun for my girls. The two individuals working were very polite and kid friendly, hard to find these days. This is now a prime option for future parties for my daughters in the near future. My only complaints, my wife was unable to attend and Austin traffic !!!!

I took my daughter here twice. (I was skeptical because they claim to be clean but how clean can it really be if shoes are mandatory inside unlike other play places where they must be removed). So I took my 4 year old on a hot day to get out and have fun indoors. We went at the 2:30 play time on a Saturday and again on the following Monday. Both times the bathrooms were stinky and didn t have soap in one of the bathrooms. The trash by the front desk was full and there were crumbs and paper trash on the floor by the craft area. I find this odd since they claim to clean up in between each play time reservation. There s definitely no sanitation protocols in practice. What they actually do it just reorganize the toys before the next play session. They don t sweep, vacuum, mop or wipe down toys in between play sessions. After touching the toys and viewing the play area is looks unclean!!! I always washed our hands before leaving (in the one bathroom with soap). Well two days later she came down with strep. Yup!! They don t clean at all or take any precautions. We go to little land in Buda from time to time and the experience there is much better and actually clean! Highly disappointed here but that s definitely what I expected from a place like this. Little land is much better don t waste your time here.

Fun indoor option for small kids. Been here a few times and it seems that at this point, the toys are in need of a restock. Also there is a big lizard in a cage with no water in one of the playrooms, hoping that it normally has water? It was so still we thought it wasn t real, then it blinked.

To be really honest, my kid and I love this place and we ve been here several times. Staff are really nice and friendly EXCEPT for 1 person. I don t know if she is the owner/manager or whatever. I ve encountered her twice already and she was rude with my first encounter and I brushed it off. I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Today, I wanted an activity for my kid and she was telling me we can t do it if my kid won t like it. Isn t this a parent thing to figure out? Does she know my kid? If my kid won t like it it s for me to decide if i ll let him do the artwork next time. I m not asking the artwork for free, i m paying for it. For instances, if my kid won t do it. It s our loss not yours. Also, if you are in a costumer service business you need to have good customer service. I don t wanna ruin my day cos of her but she got me with her comments towards my kid.

Editing to increase from 1 to 5 stars. While the corporate process to track visits is still behind the times, the local owner looked into the issue and made it right. We will be going back Bought a 5 pass in advance. Given a punch card on first visit. Booked a second visit and showed up without the punch card. No way to see our pre purchase or visits in system, and apparently we lose all 4 of the remaining trips if we don t find the punch card. No warning on first visit. Impossibly bad system for 2024 and a complete waste/loss of money

This is a great place to take your young kids, especially during the summer when it is too hot outside. Reservations are required so keep that in mind. It is a small space (hence reservations) but there is lots to do. The time slots are 1.5 hours each which seems to be the perfect amount of time. I like the 12:30pm weekday timeslots, they arent as hectic as others. This place is best suited for kids 6 and under. My 7 year old was bored quickly but my 3 and 5 year old nanny kids loved it. At the end they let you choose one snack per kid. Staff is helpful.and friendly and the place is clean. Definitely will come back again.

My kids adored this place! Our reservation block flew by quickly because they were having so much fun! I actually liked having to book ahead a time. I think this limits how many kids go to play all at once to prevent it from getting too chaotic. Everything was kept clean and there were plenty of different themed stations for the kids to explore. The live lizard in the pet store was a nice touch. My kids favorite areas was the garbage truck and grocery store/ice cream shop. At the end of our playtime, they even got to pick a snack. I wish Austin had more kids places like this, its beautiful and a nice place to go with your little ones. We look forward to visiting again!

Our experience was ok. When we arrived for our designated play time we were not greeted at all. We just stood around with other folks in the lobby area. We had never been before, so we didn t know what to do. Then when the time came people all just pushed toward the front. Again, zero acknowledgement from staff. No welcome, this is what s happening, etc. no explanation of add ons or anything else. No pleasantness what so ever. Actual play time was total chaos. Parents were working at the tables and not watching their kids at all. There were WAY too many kids for one time slot in my opinion. There is zero insulation and high warehouse ceiling so it is incredibly loud. I wish I brought ear plugs. Overall I think the employees are underpaid and too many kids are allowed in and once. We won t be back.

But we were able to purchase a few activities (slime making, pottery painting) for the big kids who needed something more.

Many different avenues of play: gorgeous pretend play , art, block building, a physical play area. We would have enjoyed with a few more children to make friends with to play but it isn t an overly large space so I guess I understand the restrictions on number. It was a fun play period!

The cutest place & it provides a LOT of toys/activities for development. We could stay there hours honestly - the reservations for 1.5 hours is the best idea to ensure it doesn t get overcrowded. Absolutely loved the place & adding the slime kit. Highly recommend and will be back!

Took my 14 month old here. She absolutely loved it. She had so much fun exploring each building and really enjoyed the vet office. I loved that 1st, it was clean! Toddlers get sick so easily at indoor play places but I really felt confident this place sanitized and having to have a reservation where they take breaks every 1.5hrs to clean really boosted my confidence in that. I also loved that no matter where I stood or sat, I could see my child. It was great for fostering that independence. She was able to explore with me and then independently. Lastly, the fact that we get a snack token is so kind. We grabbed a special snack on the way out and she was so excited to try something we dont keep at home.

This place was wonderful! You have to make a reservation because they limit the number of children able to play, which is so nice so that it doesn t get overcrowded! Everything is so clean & organized & great quality! Definitely coming back & bringing friends!

This review is written after two visits to the museum on a regular day and one birthday party extravaganza! Every time I ve been here, it s been neat and clean and orderly. Workers were mostly out of the way and just there to help facilitate any extra fun kids may want to partake in! For various reasons (the main one being COVID), my daughter s 5th birthday was the first friend birthday party she s ever had. This meant a LOT of classmates and friends and well more people than I want to clean my home for. I chose PSM s most affordable DIY option in which I purchased everything on my own, but upon arrival there were two employees ready to help me put out any decorations, set up food, cake, etc. The kids came, they partied, we sang, ate cake, all in an hour and a half and then it was time for everyone to skidaddle and again, the two party assistants helped get everyone out the building as they packed up any extra supplies and cleaned up the party. It was great. I HIGHLY recommend PSM if you can afford a party package, as the kids were highly entertained, parents got to chit chat amongst each other because Play Street as a chill vibe and not a my child is going to break their arm on a trampoline vibe, and because it was such a low stress/easy party option!

Amazing birthday party experience! The staff were organized and friendly. They helped set up the party, executed a fun slime lab the kids loved - everyone had a great time and they did it all from sept up to clean up. I cant recommend this place enough. Thank you PSM for the great day!

Rented for a birthday party, great experience! They facilitated everything, we just brought the food (our choice, theres a package that includes food as well). Great layout for a party - adults can actually talk and catch up while the kids run around.

Great place for younger kids including toddlers. 4 yo and 17 mos had a blast. Love that they do reservations and avoid having too many kids inside at once. We were pleasantly surprised how much was packed into a relatively small space, square footage wise. Will definitely be back. Free for the adults.

My son and I LOVE Play Street. They magically clean up each session in 30 minutes in between play times, and every time you go the toys are put up so nice. I love the staff here and it s clear they enjoy the kids and making play magic. My only complaint is that there are no open play times on the weekend. I would pay a higher fee to use on the weekend, but they save it all for birthdays. It s a bummer for working families.

VERY FUN for the little ones! My toddler was playing non-stop & loved every minute of it. Jasmine was super helpful in assuring that we created our slime halfway through our playtime. Even though the place was pretty small, there was so much to explore! There were stations for everything that your kid would like, such as trains, music, shopping baskets, slime, painting, legos, a vast selection of books, animal exhibits, and so much more. They even had different jobs to explore firefighters, doctors, and recycling stations. I highly recommend Play Street Museum. Before we left, we made a game out of taking pictures super fast at each station, and it was so much fun. Worth every penny!

It was such a fun experience and great way to beat the summer heat. My daughter had a blast checking out all the rooms and playing dress up. My only comment is that it would nice to have more seating area in the center of the museum so adults can watch the child they are with without interfering in independent play.

Nice place to take children or grandchildren. They have a pretend pet shop, hospital/dr office, grocery store with play food and play money, ice-cream play shop, a pretend garbage truck with bins for plastic bottles and paper, large train set, lots of building blocks, books, and many other things to stimulate the young mind. They get a token, which can be used for a healthy snack. The place was very clean.

We visited the Play Street Museum this morning! The woman working behind the desk seemed like she didnt want to be there. We didnt get a greeting, a welcome, good morning, or anything. Instead she just said name? barely looking up from her paperwork. Being in customer service myself, I find this a bit rude. It was our very first time in, so I wasnt sure if we needed to sign in, check in on the tablet or just walk right in. The museum toys and play areas are best for 2-3 year olds. My 4 and 6 year old had fun, but they were clearly two of the older ones there of about 15 other kids. Its great that they have add-ons if you want to pay extra for slime, canvas painting or pottery painting. One suggestion I would say is to add a discard or yuck bucket that toys can be put into that need cleaning right away. Maybe there was one, but nothing was clearly labeled. Staff could let all parents know where it is when checking in. I saw a toddler putting toys in his mouth and his mom put them right back into the basket, without wiping them, with everything else for the next kid to play with. Not the museums fault, but thats definitely how germs are spread. It was nice that the kids also got to choose a snack on the way out. Again, the same women didnt say anything when I handed her the snack tokens. She expected me to know what snacks we could choose from and where the drinks were without saying anything. I think if youre more open to new customers and talk to them, theyre more likely to return.

This place is so cute. The staff is incredibly friendly- as a nursing mom a worker offered me their break room when they saw me trying to find a private spot. Another time I was late and they allowed us to do playtime in the next time slot. I really appreciated both experiences. The toys are clean and quality and they have awesome learning set ups. I ll definitely be holding one of my kids birthdays here in the future.

They allow too many people in at once. Reservations are required but it s still chaos. None of the toys are left in the shop fronts so you just kind of wander around looking for something to play with that isn t taken. I would go to pikopye s town instead if you are looking for somewhere less chaotic and a chance to truly play. Only ten children in one time slot are allowed there.
