We got there at 9 pm, and the manager refused to accept us in the salon, although it was mentioned that the admission hour was until 10 pm . My daughter was so hungry that they suggested getting a takeout and dining in the hotle lobby. we decided to get pasta Alfredo, but just until the plate was warm, it was eatble and after 5 min it didnt taste good and only the flavor of heavy cream and strong bitter cheese was recognizable. We were disappointed both at the way we were treated and the food. Not worth it !

I ll be frank. We were indecisive on food, we got the lobster ravioli and gnocchi. LET ME TELL YOU. The lobster was okay, personally unimpressed BUT THAT GNOCCHI!!!!!! BEST I HAVE EVER HAD and completely underrated dish. We ordered TWO, that s how good it was! 1000% recommend the gnocchi. Erik s service and appetizer recommendation was also GREAT! (We got the octopus.) He went above and beyond and made the experience so much better! Thank you!!

WOW WOW WOW! Had a great week at work and wanted to celebrate a bit. I randomly chose this place, as my favorite Italian eatery closed down. We ordered EVERYTHING. The tapenade and fresh bread was unreal. It was the exact moment I tasted that I knew we were about to embark on a flavor journey. Meatballs and goat cheese app for starters were so perfect. Carbonara, bolognese, and lobster ravioli were all amazing, bolognese was the clear winner, but 2nd and 3rd were a photo finish. I asked our wonderful waitress for a dessert and port of her choice. We had a 20yr old Port and tiramisu - OH. MY. GOD. Make the rez, you won t regret it. Also, good luck finding the front door. We sat near the fake front door and watching people fail trying to find it was a bit of a show.

Made my reservation a week in advance to take my girlfriend here for her birthday, and I must say, huge disappointment. Got seated right away, server never acknowledged noted birthday (not a huge deal at all), but the service was atrocious! 15 minutes till we were greeted with water (our server had a 3 table section it seemed .a 3 top, a 2 top, and US a 2 top) it wasn t extremely busy and if you have been there it s not very large of a room. Our server didn t explain ANYTHING at all or even showed a slight interest in working ( understood lol) but sheesh, as us working in the industry we were appalled by the lack of attention. Steak was said to be prepared med rare but came out med well as well. Food was still tasty but experience left a bad taste in mouth for sure. Service was definitely stale and needs polishing. Maybe next time

Im not big on Octopus but it was highly recommended. The Cod was cooked perfectly. And the lobster Ravioli was some of the best I ever had. Cocktails were also 5 star.

The food was amazing, not your Italian classic plates For starters I recommend the Arancini, which are Fried Balls of Ham and Mushroom Risotto, those were fastastic! Also, for main entree I highly recommend the Gnocchi with Honey Glazed Pork, this plate is like a party of flavor in your mouth I don t recommend the Sangria (it s white wine sangria and it was very bland in flavor). Ambiance is good, service could have been better since I felt that our server was rushing us through the whole experience but overall I highly recommend this place for a nice occasion or simply if you want to try Italian plates with a fun and flavorful twist.

Came here for our anniversary dinner expecting a great night, We asked for a bigger table because we planned to order lots of dishes. But, the hostess (pretty sure her name was Emily, she had glasses with black hair) stuck us at a smaller one instead. Later, we saw her giving a bigger table to another couple, which was a bit of a letdown. The food was actually on the salty side but our waitress was super attentive Its just a bummer that our first impression with the hostess wasnt the best. Youd think everyone would be on their A-game in such a nice spot.

A new addition in the recently renovated Fairmont Hotel, this little gem of an Italian restaurant shares its location with Silo, its steakhouse sister. We were seated immediately and service never stopped being very attentive. Decor is smart and clean, greys and whites with marble top tables and comfortable seating. Noise level was low until the restaurant filled and then it became difficult to hold a normal conversation but that seems to be the norm now. The menu is not large but is very inventive and includes some vegetarian options although vegans would be hard pressed to get a meal. The dishes we tried we very good to excellent. The caprese salad was remarkable, fried barata with flavorful tomatos and a smooth pesto. An unusual but incredible combination. Pasta dishes were very good and dessert was a perfect end. The wine list was extensive but there was not a lot of options by the glass. Overall, this is a perfect addition to San Antonio s fine dining and we give it 4 clams on the coveted Five Quahog Rating Scale ( five stars in the Google scale).

My partner and I were visiting San Antonio for the first time. We were on the fence about doing Italian since it s SA (you should be eating TexMex and BBQ the whole time, right?) but we wanted something upscale for our date night. When we entered the lobby, there was an extremely loud group of men ahead of us. We ended up both waiting for our reservations on the rooftop together, to which my partner and I both determined we would be miserable if we were seated near them. When I discreetly mentioned this to Emily, the hostess, she was extremely gracious and went out of her way to make sure we had a table in a more secluded section of the restaurant. I really appreciated this and it genuinely made our experience. The food itself was INCREDIBLE. Ive traveled around Italy and it is definitely authentic. We did the potatoes and octopus as an appetizer, rigatoni for the main course, and Mexican vanilla sorbet for dessert. I seriously cannot express how delicious and flavorful everything was. When we undoubtedly return to SA, we will definitely be back.

I made a Valentine s Day reservation for my wife and I. The day before, I get an email from their reservation software saying that they re doing an $80/person Valentine s Day menu. My wife has dietary restrictions that the Valentine s menu didn t meet. So I called to ask if the regular menu was being served and the host told me that it was not. I asked if this was stated on the website when reserving, maybe I missed it. She said the chef just decided to come up with it. I made the dietary restriction known to the host and she just said she d be happy to cancel my reservation. I m baffled and offended that this establishment would just say it s our way or cancel your reservation. Good luck to me trying to find a new reservation the day before Valentine s Day. Turns out you can t even get good service from the nice restaurant these days.

Which would have been forgivable if one of the cooks wasn t on his phone in front of the dining room (it s an open kitchen) for the majority of our meal. I did quite enjoy my bolognese however! Thats how it usually has been in the very few times Ive given Italian restaurants in the U.S a try. I didnt enjoy the Caprese salad, mostly due to the fact the mozzarella was fried. The pasta al funghi was rather bland and the carbonara was just a little off. Ill stick with preparing my own Italian food. Service was excellent.

I recently dined at Nonna, and it was a great experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the evening. Our server, Krysta, was an absolute delight. She was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also incredibly attentive, making sure our dining experience was perfect.

I had an absolutely amazing dining experience here. We are visiting from out of town and decided to have a upscale/fancy dinner. After looking through several downtown locations we decided on this place, based on the Italian cuisine and excellent pictures posted by other reviews. This restaurant did not disappoint! The location was very close to our downtown hotel, easy to walk to. It s located in an old hotel and the bar is in the lobby, creating a very cool aesthetic. The interior decor was tasteful and inviting. We received kind and friendly service from the waitstaff and enjoyed the warm environment. The food - it was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. We ordered a caprese salad and patate frite as appetizers, and then had carbonara and bolenese for the entrees. It was all prepared with much care and the flavor was delicious. We had dessert here as well - ordering the tiramisu and a double scoop of lemon sorbet and Mexican vanilla gelato (the gelato was AMAZING). Overall, I would highly recommend eating here for a nice, upscale dinner.

The restaurant is great. Food was delicious, and service at the restaurant was very good...but, the restaurant is part of a hotel and it is very inconvenient that they have the same receptionist for both the hotel and the restaurant. I had to wait for two customers to check-in at the hotel before being able to request a table at the restaurant. Moreover, Bianey the receptionist is not friendly with anyone... Not even the employees...

One of the best dining experiences in awhile. Food was very good, highly recommend the branzino! The goat cheese appetizer was excellent; the burrata underwhelming. Drinks at the bar were just okay. Nice wine list. Hunter our waiter was outstanding. Attentive but not obtrusive. Would skip the big cheese pasta bowl but a nice visual. Nice environment. Would be glad to return.

Our waitress read my hubby notes and surprised us with an amazing Tiramisu at end of the meal. The goat cheese with green sauce is finger licking good. The tartness of the sauce compliments the goat cheese very well. I ordered Beef tenderloins..the beef melted in my mouth. My hubby ordered the Tartufo.. expensive but worth it! Succulent crab , well aged parmesan (homer Simpson drool). Complimentary valet is a plus.Definitely coming back! Parking: Complimentary valet

Different locations, different menus, but the same great dedication to accepting nothing less than perfection with every plate and bite served. Having tried only the uptown location recently, I was worried that one location was to be markedly better than the other, and Id have to choose the next time I wanted incredible high-end yet homemade Italian. Thankfully, for the denizens of San Antonio, each location can stand on its own! I never thought that Chef Luca, his cooks, and staff would ever rest on their laurels, and thankfully, yet again, I have been proven right. I look forward to my next chance to dine again at Nonnas Osteria.

We went here for my friend s 40th birthday celebration! Girls dinner! We arrived a little before our 6:30pm reservation and I asked if we could seat at the table earlier since the birthday girl was arriving and we would order a bottle and appetizers, they checked and told us we could but we were limited to 2 hours and after that they would need our table (I was disappointed since it was my first impression- not something you want to hear right before you dine in from the hostesses staff). Later another one of our friends arrived and she had our friends favorite cake to sing happy birthday with! First comment she received as she walked in the door was that she would have to pay $30 to bring in an outside cake (second strike). As I was sitting in the restaurant and after eating (food was pretty good with the exception of the burrata) my stomach started to feel uncomfortable. I had to run to the bathroom to find out something didn t agree with my stomach. Around 30 mins later another friend had the same issue. We left and my two other friends had the same issue. We will not be coming back mainly because of the very first impression and service as we walked in the door, bad way to welcome customers. Secondly, something obviously was not good with the food. On a positive note the pasta on the cheese wheel was amazing!

I had some doubts as hotel restaurants are not always the best we have seen. When we entered the lobby we knew that Nonna Osteria would be special. We were immediately and professionally greeted. The entrance to the restaurant is lined with wine bottles, in a very nice arrangement. The seating and decor is very well done. Our server was very great, professional and polite. The food was also outstanding and the dessert excellent as well. Five stars well deserved, we will be back! Vegetarian options: There are non-meat and seafood dishes on the menu Dietary restrictions: Staff will work with any restrictions you make them aware of. Ingredients listed on menu. Parking: Valet may be included with meal if you check. Several pay lots in the area Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome but more an adult environment Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible

NONNA Osteria is regularly called the best Italian food in San Antonio. That may be true, but that doesnt mean its a great choice for Italian food in general. NONNA isnt your generic pizza and pasta restaurant. While there is a small pizza menu, traditional Italian appetizers like Burrata, pastas like carbonara, and desert like tiramasu are the focus. The execution is just, well, off. The carbonara is an over salted heavy dish with an off color. Egg yolk yellow is what youd expect, porridge white is closer to whats served. The ravioli zucca had a decadent filling trapped inside an undercooked shell. Al dente is fine, undercooked is not. The red velvet cake was beautifully presented, but was dense like bread and filled with a semi solid compote. If this was a neighborhood Italian restaurant this would all be excusable. However, the culinary aim here is much higher. It just needs to be proven. There a lot to like besides the disappointing dishes. The entry through the wine bottle cases is very inviting. The clean chic interior is perfect for a business lunch or date night. Staff is perfectly attentive and not overbearing. Waitress Lauren is as good a server as could be had anywhere and deserves compliment. A restaurant at this level must execute higher, especially given how many other things are going for them. Vegetarian options: There are a few vegetarian pasta options and starters.

When we arrived the entrance is through a wine display and it looked amazing. Manager/servers/host were all very attentive and knowledgeable. Food was delicious but a bit overpriced for the quality. I got the wild boar and it was well worth the price. My wife got the lobster and it was such a small quantity for $35 It was a bit ridiculous. My mom got the $70 pasta with black truffle and literally there was like 8 shavings of truffle. Delicious plate tho but not $70 delicious. Overall food was very good but not amazing. Tab came out to around $260. But definitely can get same quality for for under $200 at a different location. Great place tho I would still recommend!!

The olive tapanade and bread pieces they bring out when you arrive was good. Octopus appetizer was delicious! Had to try the pasta Tartofu, with the lump crab and truffles. I was surprised to find out it was $70.00 a plate! So my husband and I split it. Im glad we did! Very good but also very rich! I would almost suggest getting it as a taster with 4-6people so that everyone gets try it, along with your salads and entrees! Very interesting!! Would definitely recommend this place!! I was traveling alone and new to the area, so I asked for for food recommendations and she told me she would think on it, and when she brought me the check at the end she also came back with a written out list of about 7 restaurants that she recommended and she took the time to explain them to me. I cant remember her name but wish I could so I could thank her publicly! Such a kind gal and wonderful experience overall. (10/10 recommend the Bolognese)
