This is possibly the best Guitar Center on the planet. I can t stress the number of positive experiences I ve had at this store. I ve fallen in love with multiple guitars that were used and practically brand new. They have incredible pricing, and just in general the energy of the staff is impeccable. Today I had an issue with a new guitar I bought there and Sean and Colton both were so damn helpful. They were able to fix the action, the set up issue that was impacting the guitars pre-amp and made me feel so prioritized. Additional the guitar sounds so great and is show ready this week. Huge shout out for running a corporate guitar shop like a mom And pop business. Yall are legends.

Very over priced and under staffed. This store obviously needs training on customer service. Waiting 20 minutes just to buy guitar strings, while staff plays and samples guardis unacceptable. Will find other places to shop.

I like that you can try everything before you buy. Prices seem consistent with other online retailers. Salespeople were not hovering so I enjoyed playing the acoustic guitars and taking all the time I needed. Probably going back for that Taylor 117ce.

My piano had a damage and so we call and they came to pick it up and then month s past and my parents call over and over and they would say the same think that they ll see what we can do so my parents got mad and went over to the store and speak to the manager and they said that they will contact the insurance so we came back home and my mom text the manager and he never answer so for use the literally stole my piano

The staff were really helpful and knowledgeable about products in store. I needed a cable for my singular monitor, the sales associate remembered the last time I came in, and quickly got what I needed. I do wonder about the effectiveness of the computers they have at the register and why they are going to company provided phones to replace the register but the employees are doing all they can to make it a soild time in store.

Staff are always friendly and welcoming here, Spencer and Brock have been outstanding. Any gear you could need for fogging can be found here or ordered via their website and picked up here. I always like stopping in and seeing what s new, it s a calm environment and you can test the instruments. Staff can make recommendations and know their stuff. I m very happy to shop here and receive lessons here.

Nothing particularly remarkable about this place but I enjoy the layout. I ve had nothing but positive interactions with these guys. I ve purchased (2) 4-string base, (2) amps, some pedals and miscellaneous gear from them. One of the guys knocked over my bass but all was well, so far. Could ve shaved off 10% my guy?! Repair technician no good here. Needed a simple restring for a Floyd rose guitar. Tech did not do enough winds and now there is a big space between the string and locking nut, this error causes my guitar goes out of tune every time I lock it down. No redo or reimbursement were offered.

If you know what you want or need, super easy. But I can honestly say, after many years of being out of the music seen and coming back this year, Guitar Center isnt the place I once remember fondly. Maybe because times change, equipment changes, shopping changes. I used to love going in years back, it was always filled with everything. The guitar selection was always crazy. Now, it seems it is just for beginners. Dont get me wrong, guitar center is and shall always be a great place, it is just changed to reflect the times I guess. An thats OK.

Yes I placed an order online to get a guitar for my fiance for his birthday over a week ago it was supposed to actually already be here due to that ordering day and then I get an email saying I would not be charged until the item shipped then I get another email saying it was delayed and back ordered on top of that that they didnt even have it in stock then the agent I spoke with told me it was due to the weather that has nothing to do with what inventory they have in stock and also I was charged $98 its been pending for over freaking 3 4 days now they told me that its 3 to 5 days to even get my refund when they said I wouldnt even be charged to begin with and I have been through guitar center a lot Ive spent a lot of money through them and I will never spend another penny with them in my life just so everybody knows damn sure dont order online if youre going to go through them.

Went in and was trying to demo a classical guitar I had seen online. Drove 20 min to get there. Nobody greets me from the 4 employees there. After going to the front and inquiring about the guitar I was told be right there bro, gonna help a friend out. GC Employee and his friend jam out for 25 min while watching me wait like an idiot. They then stand around another 10 min and Crack jokes. I leave after standing around for a solid 30 min with nobody attempting to assist me on my way out. I now see why after decades ,guitar center still has aweful customer service. Just purchase from sweetwater...they actually want business

Went in to buy the Simmons Titan 20 electronic drum kit for my son for Christmas. This was his big gift from Santa he was super excited for. I opened the new box and start taking pieces out. I got to the cymbal clamps that were wrapped in painters tape with a handwritten note indicating the clamps were broken. Sure enough, it was broken. How would a note be written in a brand new box and sold as new. Seems really shady. I was super upset and my son was devastated his main gift was broken. I was then told on the phone that another had to be shipped and they would have to charge my card again and then issue a refund for the broken one. Completely unacceptable.

Im a frequent client of guitar center, but my experiences in the Round Rock location have been awful, and Ill never visit again. Ive visited twice and both times Ive had an awful experience interacting with the customer service. When Ive asked for help or info, Ive been denied and told theyre too busy. At least say that you will help me after youre done with customers? I placed an online order to have minimal interaction with the employees after the first time didnt go well, and my order wasnt ready. They made me wait for 45 mins and still didnt give me any relevant info about why it was taking so long. When I asked for an ETA the store manager said he has no idea. After the 45 min mark, I asked the order to be cancelled and left. This was a pick up order and I had called TWICE yesterday to make sure my order was ready, and was told both by Guitar Center and the specific store that it was ready. I wasted 45 mins of my time, as well as about 30 mins of commute for nothing. One of the worst experiences Ive had when making a big purchase. I might get my refund back, but not the time I lost and the inconvenience. Also, one of the employees who was being unhelpful looked super intoxicated in the first visit. I wouldnt really care if I was just helped out.

STAY AWAY!!!! Horrible customer service!!!! - they will not help, they will not return your money. I ordered a piano that was over 150lbs, the freight company they chose only drops the piano at the street on a pallet, and does not help to bring in the home. I called to cancel and spoke to Justin ext3570 and Dravon ext 2030, both were completely rude, insulting and negatively insinuate nonviable options that do not result in a resolution. I find this location super convenient for those of in the northern part of Austin. Ive been to all the other GCs in the area, and I cant say one is better than the others. I usually order online and pick up at the store. Some times, Ill swing by to pick up a drum head whenever Im in a pinch. Ive never had a bad experience at this location.

Recently purchased a guitar here. I have mixed feelings about the service I received. The sales reps were quick to ask if any help was needed. However, at checkout they tacked on an optional insurance policy without any explanation. He never asked me me if I wanted to add this $50 policy. Just told me the total and asked for payment. I found this to be misleading and disingenuous.

I recently bought a Yamaha guitar on an impulse, even though I already owned a Segal guitar. My primary reason for the purchase was to find a guitar with a smaller neck to suit my small hands. After a month of playing, I decided to return it, and Guitar Centers 45-day return policy made this process quite smooth. Sean, the manager at the Round Rock store, was exceptionally helpful and accommodating during the return, even though I only had a scanned copy of my receipt and not the physical one. His laid-back and friendly demeanor made the experience hassle-free. I highly recommend this store based on my positive encounter.

Before I start on my review, I would love to extend my gratitude to Noelle, the young man who went out of his way to go to the back, bring out a brand new box (keyboard), set it up for me to try out, with no guarantee that I would buy it I just wanted to listen to it. The service that was rendered to me by him and his manager was so good, that I went back to the store and bought a Roland keyboard. This is one of the things that I always liked about Guitar Center. When we used to live in Corpus Christi, Texas, I had bought a keyboard at another music store. And though you really don t know how it sounds till you take it home, I did that, and it didn t sound good. So I took it back to the store, I think it was Sound Vibrations and they wouldn t take it back or refund my money. I paid $700 for it at the time. Then Guitar Center opened up a store in Corpus and I decided to go check them out. I told them my plight, and was told that sometimes people buy a keyboard and then return it the following Monday, after a gig. But Guitar Center there said I shouldn t have to be responsible for that, even though they know it happens. The service was so good here, that I ended up paying $4000 for a keyboard. And the fellow that sold it to me, brought the keyboard to my home and set it up for me, got it going for me, and never charged me a cent. Now that to me is service. So I ended up, because of their service, buying two guitars for my son, amplifier, expensive but worth every cent. We don t live in Corpus anymore, so now that we live in Liberty Hill, Texas, I wanted a new keyboard and decided to go to Guitar Center in Round Rock, and that s where I met these two gentlemen, extremely nice. It was a pleasure doing business with them, and I highly recommend it. I am a musician, and I know exceptional businesses, and Guitar Center is one of them.

I had a drum kit to sell. I called to talk to someone to see what I need to do. Was told Id have to bring it in and they inspect it before making me an offer. I spent a couple hours breaking down the kit and loading it in to my vehicle. Then I was told they arent buying drum kits right now. They said it must have been a new guy that told you that. Pretty mad I wasted all my time for nothing. Sounds like they need to train their people better.

But this most recent order has gone very sideways with communication and customer service and order being delayed at first, then canceled without my authorization, however, Garrett saved the day after my not so great experience and went the extra mile to get me what I want and to ensure that it s delivery is prompt after my previous delivery fell through the cracks. Last time I went, I was trying to decide between an Ibanez and a Kramer for my next guitar to tune to drop B. Ethan in tech gave me his honest opinion and told me to go with the Ibanez. (It was cheaper and played exactly how I wanted it to. Didn t try to sell me out on the expensive junk.) I gave him a teal set of Ernie ball strings and asked him to set it up in drop B for me, and it was ready within 3 days. The set up was nothing shy of perfect. The action was set perfectly, the intonation was exactly where it needed to be, and honestly, if he told me that he gave it a spa treatment, he genuinely could ve fooled me with how flawlessly it was done. The night I came to pick it up, it was raining very hard and I forgot to bring a case. Ryan in sales held the guitar for me at the covered curb for me to get my car. That s just one of the many examples of excellent experiences I ve had at this store. I ve been to other guitar centers and not a single one of them ever put this level of care into their customers. If you need to get something fixed or you re looking for your next axe, look no further.

Guitar maintenance department is completely overwhelmed and did not communicate with me about delays. I brought in my electric guitar for some basic setup and adjustments, and was told it would be a couple of weeks. Three weeks later and no contact, I called and had a hard time getting ahold of the guitar tech directly, so I left several messages with my name and number. I never received a call back. 4 weeks went by, still with no contact. Finally, after 5 weeks and no call, I visited the store and spoke to the tech who said they were very backed up and it would be ready in two days. I returned in two days and it was still not ready. Was promised it would be ready in two more days. I returned but the tech was not in that day. I asked the manager to find my guitar and just give it back to me. It still hadnt been worked on. Ill happily take all my instruments somewhere else. I understand if there are delays during the holidays, but ZERO communication and multiple broken promises are inexcusable. Rock on.

Guitar center in round rock is my favorite location . Sumner, the guitar tech really helped me out of a jam with both my electric and nylon string acoustic guitars very affordable very effective customer service, and it was the day before Thanksgiving.

Very spacious. Lots of equipment. Spoke with a few guitar reps and got really great service and did not feel rushed or pressured to buy anything. I also like that you can try out the equipment before purchasing. I like the dynamic at guitar center. Will shop here more often.

This is the best Guitar Center in the North Austin area. Very helpful staff with all types of gear. The turn around on a repair and tune up can take time. So if you need a quick repair W Anderson Guitar Center would be the choice.

So much bigger and better than the Killeen store, twice as many different brands, styles newer inventory, much better service than the store not necessarily the actual staffing they are trying there best with what they are given to them from their higher ups, but the majority of them do like their jobs and take pride in it thats why they should go and work in the morning round Rock hahaha everybody there has a smile on their face because great environment no over the top sales people trying to push old inventory off on anyone they let you play and check on how it is going and how do you like what you are test driving hahahah, so to speak. Insured I highly recommend visiting their ending with not only employees but also the people in that area a lot of good musicians have been there for years and just have a good time with the whole experience and reach out to your friends and family, and all of fellow musicians

The Customer Service at this location is always great. They greet you as soon as you walk in. Employees are friendly and come up to you assisting you at any needs you may have. Most employees are informative and know the instruments they speak about due to being musicians themselves. There is also music books here, Vinyls, Music Strings and Straps. They offer lessons for instruments as well. Sometimes they have sales and pre-owned instruments at lower prices if on budget
