I was waiting for pick up order. Two servers said theyll be right with me. It took the 3rd person, the bartender to actually get my food. I work at Michaels and I only get 30 minutes lunch break. Need better service. My lunch looks like a mess!!

Hostess seated us in the bar when the place was mostly empty. I was taking my mother out to Sunday lunch, enjoying the meal when they put the Cowboys game on, ruining the meal. I wish the hostess had asked if we wanted to watch the game, which we didnt. It was annoying, loud and put a damper on what was supposed to be a nice special lunch since I hadnt seen her in a while. Food was yummy. Server amazing. Hostess much to be desired. Ambience not great.

I stopped by and tried out their queso and southwest chicken tacos. The flour tortillas were very good quality, the chicken was real chicken with good spice. They top it off with french fried onions which was a really nice twist. The queso was just what I wanted it to be, nice and cheesy with some tomato and jalapeno diced in it. Their tortilla chips seemed nice and fresh. The wait staff was very attentive and kind. I noticed the menu looked new and had some different items on it that Ive never seen before, and the waitress confirmed that was correct, that they changed their menu about every 3 months. That was refreshing to find and the southwest chicken tacos were certainly different than what I had had anywhere else. Im glad they are continuing to stay original and innovative. The atmosphere was just as you would expect from On the Border, Cantina Style with plenty of booths and nice lighting.

Disappointing experience at On The Border this time. Our new waitress seemed overwhelmed, and service was slow. I ordered queso, but it was forgotten. Surprisingly, there were no other customers inside except our table. Unfortunately, the waitress didnt seem to care, and the other staff members werent assisting her. As a regular customer and good tipper, I was expecting better teamwork and service. Hopefully, OTB will improve their service standards

Atmosphere was killed by loud, loud horrible music. Its a Mexican restaurant, whats wrong with Mexican music, no hip hop or Motown please! Margarita was sent back, syrupy sweet, could not drink. Food so so, nothing to make us want to go back again. Jenny, our server, was very good, friendly and very attentive. She was the saving grace to our dining experience. We will not return.

Service was great. The interior looks great. The outside seating area looks fun and festive. If the food was better, it would be 5 stars. Salsa had way to much garlic, beef enchalada was to salty, and the chicken in the chicken enchilada had a strange texture. Nothing was just awlful, but nothing was great. Update: 8-15-24 We had fish taco, chicken taco chicken enchilada and charo beans. All I can say is; food quality continues to decline. We have written this place off.

Everything was amazing! My only gripe is that I walked out of the fire and into the Arctic. Unfortunately, even though the food was great, it was hard to enjoy as I was shivering the entire time (and Im not cold natured). If you go, bring a jacket or order something spicy Kid-friendliness: They still have kid menus and crayons!

I recently had a pleasant dining experience at On the Border in Rockwall and would give it four stars overall. The service was great; our server was attentive and friendly. She made sure our drinks were always topped up and checked in frequently to see if we needed anything else. Her communication skills were excellent, which really added to the positive atmosphere of our meal. The restaurant itself was clean and well-maintained, contributing to a comfortable dining environment. The restroom was also clean which is something I always check on. We were seated promptly, and the ambiance was lively without being overwhelming. It was clear that the staff took pride in keeping the place tidy, which is always a plus when dining out. As for the food, it was good overall, though I must admit Ive had better chips and salsa at other Mexican restaurants. The salsa lacked a bit of kick for my taste, but it was fresh. The main dishes were flavorful and served promptly, which is always appreciated. Despite the minor critique on the chips and salsa, the quality of service and the overall dining experience more than made up for it.

Haven t been to an On the Border for awhile. But coming here was long awaited! From the first step I took in the restaurant, we were greeted right away. We ordered the Watermelon Margaritas, Guacamole Live, Big Borderito and shrimp tacos. Man! I surely missed the tortilla chips and salsa. I forgot how big the Big Borderito is. It was surely good though. Had to take the other half home. Our waitress was outstanding!!! I wish I got her name to give her some props.

I havent been to an On the Border in 5ish years, and my mother hadnt been to one in 20! We were really excited to stop by. The food? Fantastic. Our server? Total sweetheart (Marquita). The problem? The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. It didnt just need to be cleaned - it DESPERATELY needs a good, deep cleaning. Months (maybe more) of grime build-up on the toilets, rust on the floors, etc. If the bathroom is that disgusting, what does the kitchen look like!? Otherwise, we had a 5 star visit.

Went today, Sunday at lunchtime. Paid 2,99 for tea that was nothing but water. Chips were cold. Asked for some hot chips. The 2nd batch was cold also. Guacamole Live (where they make it at your table) was ok but they don t have garlic salt. Told us to use the salt on the table. Brought the chicken fajitas out. Plate was steaming hot but the chicken onions and peppers were warm which was strange. Beans and rice lukewarm. Restaurant was freezing cold Lots of screaming crying kids which was annoying. Service was ok. Had to ask for a refill on my watered down tea. Paid over $40. Won t be back. Not the restaurant it used to be back in the day.

Each time we go the manager at night is working just as hard as the employees and available if the server isnt on top of things. Almost all the servers are pretty good though. Food is good. I have been to many on the border restaurants and this one is the worst by far our booth had different paint colors on the wall I went to use the restroom the bathroom door paint is disgusting and dirty and the restroom was not clean the food was cold and they only serve diet Pepsi the entire restaurant was filthy and not clean the waiter was great but I would go back there because of the condition of the restaurant and how dirty it is so I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone feel free to leave a comment if you think Im wrong I honestly dont think Im wrong let me know about your experience in the cleanliness of this restaurant

We had a wedding rehearsal dinner in Rockwall and had the food delivered/setup. The food was on time, hot and very good! We even had enough for leftovers! Every time I called the catering number they were very helpful, friendly and covered all the details. The only issue I had was that we ran out of sour cream, cheese and tomatoes before everyone got through the line. Ask for extra when catering.

We enjoyed the queso, watermelon margaritas, and the strawberry cheesecake chimis very much. Ladykiera did an awesome job waiting on our table. She greeted us with a welcoming smile and took our order right away; we were on a schedule that we needed to keep. She brought food and drinks out promptly. Everything was presentable and tasted great. We got the chicken chimi and enchiladas from the lunch menu. Being a part of the rewards progran and being on the email list allowed us to use coupons and get discounts, so it was worth splurging today. Went out for date night, I got the enchiladas with rice and beans and it took over 30 min to get food to the table, wasnt a busy night & food was cold only hot thing on the plate was the beans

The food was good like normal, but I dont appreciate being lied to when Im ordering my drink. I ordered a large, which quite clearly suits not come in a large glass, Im very familiar with the big fish bowl glasses. But when I brought it up I was told it must just be a new glass. So after I ordered a regular, which was brought out in a different shaped glass, but clearly held the exact same amount of fluid. I even poured my regular back into the large glass, and what do you know, it filled it exactly. Then for insult to injury the tale across actually had their large drinks. It may be a small thing in the grand scale, but Ill no longer be eating here, all over lying instead of calling it what it was, an honest mistake. Ill miss the southwest chicken tacos, theyre always great.

Marquita I believe was our server. My son wanted to take me out so I chose OnTheBorder.. My birthday is Tuesday he will be working so he wanted to do something on his day off with/for me.. Marquita was friendly, courteous, and represented OTB well. I ordered the Gran Papi Also a Strawberry frozen Margarita Everything was hot that was supposed to be and cold things cold as they should be.. it was a Great outing peaceful serene, & enjoyable!! Thank you Rockwall On The Border for being Awesome!
