This cute spot is under new management and we had a great brunch, excellent service and reasonable prices. We were there around 10 am and were seated right away. We enjoyed everything but especially the sausage gravy, eggs Benedict and mimosa flight.

The new management has improved service and food quality. Think old school dinner meets new hip brunch place. Friendly staff welcomed us right in. I had biscuits and gravy with an egg. My wife had eggs Benedict and a flight of mimosas. Good fresh food at a very reasonable price. This is a new favorite.

Made reservations online and got approved to have reservations. The person in charge and her coworker were nice. One week ago, a Tower pic was posted with avocado toast in the google reviews but when we got it, there was no avocado and when asked, she said they didnt have any. However, she didnt tell us they were out to begin with (toast vs avocado toast is a big cost difference). With the wait, we were pleasantly surprised with fried green tomatoes. They are amazing. **Appreciated the honesty when asked about the mac and cheese and she said it was not being made in house. Ordered lemonade off the menu and she brought regular lemonade and when asked, waitress/ person in charge said they never have had ginger strawberry lemonade (which is a menu item). She went onto explaining she only has owned it for 6 months, but have not updated menus???? Paper or cardstock menu reprints are cents to the dollar. See Canva! Overall, this restaurant has potential but is missing details and is understaffed. My family and I love to support local businesses and hope to try it again next year when they have had time to work out details and get a new menu with items they serve.

I went here based on Google reviews, and it was very close to my location. I made a reservation through Google, that was confirmed. Upon entering, a lady yelled from behind the bar/counter, Good afternoon, its about a 45-minute wait time, though there was absolutely, no one waiting and an empty table. I proceeded to tell her that I have a reservation at this time, and they had confirmed it. After a couple minutes, another lady walks over, asks for the name on the reservation, and says yall can go ahead and sit at that table. We proceeded to the table and sat, and waited about 10 minutes for a server to come take drink orders. I request a drink thats on the menu, bright and bold in the middle, only to be told they didnt have it. My daughter requested a different drink, only to be told the same. We selected available alternatives and ordered Fried Green Tomatoes as an appetizer. Drinks came out, but no appetizer. 10 minutes later, the server returns for meal orders, I order Shrimp&Grits, only to be told they were out of grits. The server says, Well, its the end of the day, and... My response is, but youre still open. While sitting, we notice other tables being given baskets of croissants on the house, However, nothing is given to us, not even the tomatoes that we ordered. Before getting to the final straw, Id like to add that this establishment is located at the end of a strip mall with a grocery store up the sidewalk, its quite small, so you can hear everything. And Im not sure if its black-owned, but all of the staff were. So, the server returned to the table, still without our Tomatoes, but to take our orders, again, after giving me the opportunity to decide on an alternative to the grits they didnt have. My daughter and sister placed their orders, I opted not to order anything and just partake in the appetizer whenever it came. After about another 10 minutes, the lady (who initially said theres a 45 minute wait and seems to be the manager or owner) takes a basket to this table, she treated like royalty the entire time, stating heres some fried green tomatoes for you. Then we hear our server say those were mine for table 5. At this time, I requested the server come close out our tab that we may leave! While she apologized, they werent even courteous enough to comp the drinks... I dont really know what the issue is or was, but I would not return or recommend this place. I almost want to say that theyre prejudice against their own race, except one of the tables that received complimentary croissants looked like me. But ALL of the other guests did not. No stab at any of the guests, as we were all paying customers and should be treated aa such. This is a matter of extremely poor customer service on all levels. I left out a few details for the sake of time and characters.

Arrived at 10:45. Was told there would be a 30 minute wait. After 40 minutes I checked in again. I was told another 10 minutes. After 15 minutes, I planted myself in front of the greeter while she called the people on her list and finally agreed to seet us. We were given menus and nothing more. After 10 minutes we got up and just left. I was not aware that this place takes reservations, but that didnt seem to matter because others who had reservations were also waiting outside well beyond their reserved time. Very poorly managed in my opinion.

We have been sitting here for mothers day and have been waiting for 1 hour to get drinks, pir food hasnt come out yet and the server blamed it on the people. But they keep congregating in the back with her friends to go over the people being unhappy. We loved this place when it opened but are saddened by the lack of consistency and ability to even acknowledge those coming in. Since we got here 15 groups have left and 5 have been seated and then got up to just leave. I really hope things turn around cause this is very disappointing.

I took my mom there last Sunday. We were seated, and we asked for two waters and one coffee to start. 35 minutes later, we had not even gotten our drinks. We inquired about this, and was told that it was busy, and they were apologetic. Another 5 minutes passed, and we still hadnt gotten any drinks. Another person comes up, and we let them know. 5 minutes later, we get two coffees, and no water. We sent one of the coffees back. The creamer was chunky, so we just left a couple dollars and left. We should have been told that it would have been a long wait upon entering. Regardless of that, drinks, at least water, should have been taken care of way before the 45-minute mark.

Not a good experience at all. We walked in at about 11:20 no staff acknowledged us for at least 5 minutes as we stood at the front of the restaurant. Once we were seated we waited another 15 minutes to get our drink orders. When they brought the drinks out they forgot one of the coffees and when they came to refill drinks later they only refilled one of the coffees and walked away. We got our food about 50 minutes after arriving. We were not given silverware and had to request it after receiving our food. The food was mostly good but my wife s potatoes were cold. Several other parties came and left without ever getting a drink or even a menu while we were there. Overall, while the food was good I will probably not return due to the lack of prompt service.

They allowed my Mom to try the shrimp and grits prior to ordering and was all around pleasant. They kept our coffee hot and our cups full! TLDR; Awful and weird experience at The Rooster and will NEVER return. We went as a party of four, restaurant was fairly busy but we were sat immediately. When the waitress took our drink order she repeatedly said anybody else want anything? after each person ordered, odd. Drinks took a while and then it took a while again for her to come take our order. She did the same thing when taking our food orders, again, odd. After about waiting 30 minutes for our food the table next to us (party of two) asked the waitress when they would be getting their food, they had ordered before us and had also been waiting a while. She assured them that it would be right out. After waiting another 10 mins(now 40 total) both the table next to us and my group asked again how much longer it would be and she told us again that it would be right out . This whole time a person at my table is watching the kitchen and not a SINGLE item has come out the kitchen. 10 minutes later another person walked by who I assume was the owner(wearing a chef uniform), we stopped them and again asked how much longer it would be as we had been there near an hour. She also said it would be right out and told us that the orders come out the kitchen in order they are taken. This comment seemed very peculiar, that s typically how it works? She refilled our water and noticed our table was wobbly and unlevel. She then says she can fix it(we insist we re okay) and CLIMBS UNDER THE TABLE WHILE WERE SITTING THERE. This was so so uncomfortable and weird, she fidgets and shakes our entire table while bumping into our knees . She then offers to move us a table over because she can t fix it, we decline because we re fine where we are. (Keep in mind we can see the kitchen and this whole time not a single meal has come out and every table we can see does not have food.) Our food finally comes out looking like the most mediocre frozen food you have seen in your life. Of course we don t care given we ve been waiting over an hour for it. I ordered CAJUN shrimp and grits, and let me tell you, I have never had something so nasty. Grits were 100% plain, not even salt or pepper. It had some strange creamy sauce on it which I think was hollandaise? Five tiny completely unseasoned small shrimp. And to top it off there was olive oil poured on top. The menu description was for cheesy cajun shrimp and grits?? And the whole dish tasted solely like I was eating olive oil soup. It was so bad everyone at the table tried it. And to top this whole experience off, there was a table next to us to so the two tables made a L shape. People were seated there while we were eating and they basically became part of our table as they were facing and staring directly at us 2ft away. Our tables were basically touching. This was such an awful experience and embarrassing as some of the people in our party were from out of town and wanted good local food . I know this is a super long post but everything about this place was weird and awful, I strongly recommend staying away from this place.

The maple bacon donut holes are a must!! I would come back just for those. The chicken and waffle was pretty good- the chicken was the best part by far. My boyfriend got the classic and he said the eggs were perfect! He usually adds hot sauce or ketchup, but said these didnt need it. I saw another review talking about syrup in the eggs.... from our experience it just tasted like they were cooked with butter the two ladies serving in there were working their butts off! They would definitely benefit with a 3rd server.

I tried the new brunch spot called The Rooster next to foodtown don t waste your money. Everything comes frozen and very underwhelming. I was excited after seeing the pictures posted in the pearland foodie facebook page. My friend and I both had the classic breakfast; it was tatertots, 2 eggs and 2 sausage patties. We could immediately tell the tatertots and sausage patties were just basic, and previously frozen. I asked for a side of tomatoes and lettuce to make a breakfast sandwich. I was brought a side salad with dressing, when i asked for just plain lettuce and tomatoes instead i was told they dont have tomatoes. they sell friend green tomatoes so i was confused and was told i couldn t have tomatoes because they come pre-battered aka frozen. spend your money at Stella s where the food is fresh, service is amazing, and staff is nice! Complete opposite of The Rooster not to mention we were the only people in there and still had bad service. water also tasted like it came out of a rusty faucet. i posted this on the facebook group and felt the need to post it here as well 3 hours later because we both got sick and have upset stomachs. have a strong feeling most of the food comes from food town. again, waste of money.

After being the only table in the place - having to wait 40 minutes for a burger and open faced egg and bacon sandwich is sad. Burger wasn t supposed to have cheese but they had to scrape the cheese off of it. The burger tastes like McDonalds. The open face sandwich was grocery store Texas toast bread with 2 slices of bacon and an egg. The tots were swimming in grease and inedible. The mac and cheese was warmed in a microwave. 44 dollars - unacceptable.

The ladies working are very nice. The establishment is very clean. The food however is very bland & all came out cold. Half of the groups food came out first. After they finished we received ours. The shrimp was very rubbery and over cooked. We could not swap out that entree for something different. Food is terrible. Will not be returning

I love love love this spot. It has only been open for 6 months. Everyone who works here is so sweet. Love the way the place was designed. I orded the sweet corn burger mexican inspired and the flavors were so outrageously crazy amazing together. I added eggs and bacon, honestly it didnt need it, but it only elevated the burger. The grits had the right consistency and the sausage gravy was so so good. I also had this ginger like drink that was so refreshing. Please visit this place because we need food like this in our community

Overrated! Food was overpriced and underperformed! Salad that accompanied the Eggs Benedict tasted like it came from a bag out of your local convenience store. Service was slow with only two tables occupied. Definitely not a family restaurant with their lack of high chairs or booster seats. The chicken and waffle barely salvaged this experience. Unfortunately you only get one mediocre sized piece of chicken and two large waffles; very disproportionate. Not coming back!

For starters we tried the fried green tomatoes , they were yummy! I ordered the Mexican street corn burger with fries and my other half had the breakfast bacon mac and cheese with a fried egg on top. Everything was wonderful, you receive plenty of food and the prices were very affordable.

This place was bad!! Went for breakfast this morning. Nice interior, waitress was friendly but the food was horrible. I ordered the Crab Cake Benny, my daughter ordered the Smoked Salmon Benny, husband ordered the Waffle. First off we were the only people there and it took 20+ minutes for our food to come out and it was cold. My crab cake was not cooked through so the consistency was like tuna salad. The poached egg was cold, hollandaise sauce was cold, English muffin was burned underneath. I called the waitress and gave it back also told her my daughters food was cold as well. She stated hers was supposed to be cold, ummmmm no ma am poached eggs and hollandaise sauce are not served cold, her English muffin was burned as well. My husbands waffle was Lukewarm at best, the strawberry butter didn t even melt. When the waitress took my food back the cook/cooks came out and looked at the plate, began talking loudly (we could hear them) and seemed a bit upset. My daughter and husband went ahead and ate their food but I refuse to eat undercooked seafood. I should have checked reviews first and I would have decided against this place seeing a lot of bad ones and particularly one about seafood. To add to the not so great experience the menu does not tell you the Bennys come with what looks like romaine lettuce from a bag with some type of vinaigrette on it, I would have asked for it to not be put on my plate as would have my daughter. Everything is also ala carte. It was over 60$ for the 2 meals including fruit juice and coffee. Long story/complaint made short . Horrible. Would not recommend this place period!!!!!! If I was able to give the food no stars I would have.

This place looks great but everything else was terrible. Incredibly overpriced and the food was terrible. They served us on dollar store plates. They still had the stickers on them so I was slightly concerned that theyd never been washed. Their gourmet coffee is Community coffee which last time I checked was a popular brand at gas stations. They had the nerve to charge us $4 for an 8 oz glass of OJ that was Minute Made... not even fresh squeezed. Not to mention that the food actually made my mother in law and husband sick! $70 for 3 people to eat brunch with no alcohol and we got food poisoning. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Stellas on Dixie Farm is a better choice!

Quaint restaurant at the end of the Food Town shopping center. Light music playing in the background had a nice ambiance. Booths have solid walls for a personal conversation while the two and four-person tables leave no privacy and are quite close to other parties so youre talking over others (unfortunately we overheard conversations and tones we would have preferred not to). Started off with the Ginger Strawberry Lemonade ($4.50) which was a refreshing drink. Unfortunately, the menu doesnt list it as no refills, it came with 3/4 ice, and for the price I wouldnt order again; there should at least be one refill. The Classic Benedict ($13) with a side of bacon ($4.50) was a mixed late morning breakfast. The sauce in lieu of hollandaise was a little too excessive in amount and drowned out the egg, Canadian bacon and English muffin. The meal also came with vinagerette salad which didnt jive with the breakfast item. The Maple Bacon Donut Holes ($7.50) were good and fit my childs maple bacon donut fix. Decent first time dining experience. Since the restaurant is new, theyre still in need of extra wait staff to accommodate a full restaurant. From food delivery to being offered the check, no staff visited our table to get some water. Well return to give the restaurant and menu another go.

We will allow this restaurant to work all the new opening kinks. The visit occurred during the prime lunch hour on a Sunday. There was only one waitress for the whole restaurant with assistance from the owner/management (???) When we entered, the waitress/hostess/Busgirl/ explained that it was a 20-minute wait which we didnt have an issue with and thought reasonable at a primetime Sunday lunch hour, so we were okay with waiting. Our waitress did her absolute best, but with the lack of staff, she could only do as much as possible. But there is more room for improvement and growth. The food took a very long time to come out. The food was excellent and memorable, which is why we will give this place another chance at a different time. I will come back to this review for updates.

My wife and I were lucky enough to be the first customers on opening day for The Rooster. We had the Eggs Benedict and the Chicken and Waffle. Weve been to breakfast/brunch places all over the greater Houston area, Austin, San Antonio, Nashville, and DC, and I have to say the food at The Rooster ranks right up there with the best of the places weve been. The menu is well thought out and accommodates a wide range of tastes, and the dishes are delicious. Weve been back for lunch, and the Crispy Chicken burger and the Street Corn burger were fantastic - and I could eat a bucket of the tots. The menu prices are perfectly fair for the quality of food you are served. The only improvement Id like to see, especially since the focus is breakfast and brunch, is the addition of an espresso maker with a variety of coffee drinks (and a better quality of coffee) - but this isnt enough for me to drop even half a star. Also, a Bloody Mary or a Mimosa would be perfect. Overall, were very glad to have The Rooster nearby and we highly recommend it, and we cant wait to see how they evolve!
