The food and drinks were good. I had the fajita torta and my son had the barbacoa torta with Horchata. Great portions and the price for the torta is reasonable. It looks like it would be a whole vibe on a weekend night, but it was pretty empty when we went. The customer service is non- existent. We had to go to the register area to get additional napkins, limes, and a to-go container. I recommend they work on their housekeeping and customer service. I also didnt check my receipt for additional fees 20% gratuity fees(mentioned on others previous reviews). If thats the case I might reconsider if I will be going back.

Food is fantastic BUT the service is terrible. They charge an extra 20% for gratuity with all transactions then also want to be tipped. Crazy. The last time I went it seemed like they were trying too hard to be a club and were not worried about food customers. That s a damn shame because I was going once a week. I recommend the food but just be careful what fees they add on in the end.

Love, love, love this place. If you re looking for a spot to just go and vibe this is it. The food has not disappointed yet. The drinks are great and the Happy Hour menu is on point for SHOTS! The girls are the best. Jessica, Cyn and Liz are my girls, they are great company to be around and give top notch service. Go on any night they are working and you are sure to have a GREAT TIME! Don t forget to say hi to Lucy the manager as she will make sure your taken care of as well! If you haven t been definitely go check them out. They have a DJ on Friday and Saturdays to pump up the weekend. There s no drama and everyone gets along with everyone.

Food is hit or miss on certain days, staff forgets alot of your order alot so make sure to check you got what you paid for. The new absolutely ridiculous 20% gratuity charge is criminal. They wont tell you its there, and the checkout screen will cut straight to if you want to leave a tip, without telling you youve ALREADY left one. On top of that, theres a card and cash fee as well! What would be a simple $14 turns into $30. Sneaky practices here.

I recently visited Taco City Y Mas for the first time and had a highly disappointing experience. The cleanliness of the place was far from acceptable; the menus were sticky and unappetizing. I ordered a steak quesadilla but was served tacos instead, indicating a lack of attention to orders. Aurora, the cashier, added to the negative experience. She was either on her phone or absent from the bar, and when she was present, her attitude was rude and unhelpful. I did not feel welcomed at all. On a positive note, the lady serving the food was very nice, providing a small silver lining to an otherwise unpleasant visit. However, the overall experience left much to be desired. I would not recommend this restaurant based on my visit.

The food is excellent. I especially recommend the tacos de birria. HOWEVER there is no mention of the 20% automatic gratuity or 4% card fee before checking out. Then the card reader takes you right to the tipping options after swiping your card! I ended up paying $42.44 after fees on what should have been a $30 meal total. I dont mind tipping (or even automatic gratuity), but not letting you know beforehand is ridiculous!

I was going to leave a good review because the food is good but be SURE TO ASK FOR WHAT YOU ARE BEING CHARGED FOR before they run your card. Restaurant charges you 4% just because? Receipt says cash discount but that makes no sense. Then they total that amount and automatically charge you 20% gratuity. So they up the cost of your order by adding 4% so that they can charge you 20% and collect more. Its not posted anywhere except on receipt after you pay. I walked over and saw no mention of automatic 24% fee to orders of 1 person or more. I had to get my own salsa, napkins and no ones been around to refill my drink Aaaand the 24% is on top of the tip you already leave when you re checking out. So no one knows there s a 20% and 4% on top of the tip until they pay and ask for receipt. Im all about successful businesses but this is straight up scamming your customers The city and BBB will hear.

I went to see the Canela Fight on 4/4/24 paid $10 per person to get in , just to be charged again in a fraudulent way! They don t give you a RECEIPT until you pay. Then IF and only If you check your receipt you will find hidden mandatory fees like a Graduate (I think they meant to spell gratuity) . When you are about to pay they add ANOTHER Tip selection without you knowing they automatically already charged you a Mandatory fee. When I confronted the Manager he replied oh it s posted all over their restaurant we always do mandatory gratuity after 7pm. This is THEAFT ! Please ask for itemized receipt prior to paying ! If they refuse, speak to management or call the BBB and file a complaint so the city of Mesquite can investigate further more.

You charge $12.40 for a taco plate but if I would like cheese on my tacos, that will be an extra charge! NOPE! First and last time I will ever eat there. They served my friends food 10 mins. before I got my plate. There were only 2 customers in the place and that was the best they could do? I sure do miss Donna s Kitchen, their food was GREAT, and all meals were served at the same time.

I love this place. Use to stop every morning for a breakfast burrito, but they changed their policy on call in orders and refuses to take cash. Worse, says management takes the money out of the enployees checks if a call in order doesnt get picked up. Not a good way to treat your regular customers. You went from 5 star to 1 star. Good bye old friend. Fire the lady who works mornings, and I will come back.

I had the fried rice plate and it was so damn good! I do order take out and it was made so quick! Now I did come back for a breakfast burrito and I ll give that a 6/10. Way too much sausage and it was cubed . Also the burrito wasn t seasoned. But the homemade tortilla it was wrap in 10/10!

The lady at the original location told me about this one. I was VERY satisfied all for $17 (Tuesday $1.50 hard shell tacos, I had 4). I have chicken & steak in the jalepenos (3 for $5). Def held me over for the day. The horchata was perfect for my sweet tooth. Can t wait to come back, sit down, and enjoy the vibes because they are definitely there!

Crystal at the front desk is was very professional and took the extra step to find the mix for out Modelo Micheladas (which was perfect not everyone can make a good one) with a smile and great attitude and Nancy who I think is one of the cooks was also very nice and asked if we needed anything else and brought me an extra hot salsa . Not the mention the fajita combination plate that we got was delicious. We didn t even add any extras to it because the taste on its own was perfection. The pozole was tasteless and oily. And the caldo de res taste like they just added beef to vegetable broth. The pozole had no spice either. Ive been getting the pozole on the weekends since last year and this experience was totally off. First off the girl at the counter didn t even give me my soups after reading my order from the receipt.(I called my order in) Then when I asked for jalapeños onion and cilantro to go with it she tells me that would be extra. Not a big deal however this was the first time I ve ever gotten it to go. Normally I dine in and they bring out a plate of toppings with my tortillas(which I threw away on this trip. They were nasty) They have obviously changed ppl in the kitchen and they need to bring them back! Or at least require the same standards. Good thing I did ask for the onion jalapeños and Cilantro or there wouldn t have been any taste at all to my food. The two stars are for the fajita torta my daughter had. She enjoyed it.

Had breakfast, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Watch out for that green sauce, delicious, and dangerous! If you like affordable and tasty Mexican cuisine in a land back environment, I highly recommend this place. The bathrooms were immaculate, and everything looked freshly renovated.

Food is great, prices are about what everyone else charges. I recommend the cheese madi poppers. I usually get the Taco City Salad with barbacoa, I have had it with chicken too. My husband has gotten the smothered burrito, enchilada and tacos. They have multiple screens up with sports on, you order and pay at counter, food is brought to table. They have a bar. Went here this weekend and when we walked in the door were warmly greeted by smiling staff. The restaurant was noticeably clean and smelled like nothing but good kitchen aromas. Service was efficient, food was nicely plated and hot. I hope to make this a five star review next visit, but unfortunately my barbacoa was bland to the point of being unenjoyable. Both of my friends let me try bites (enchilada verde and bisteca loaded fries) and their plates were well seasoned and delicious. Loved the hand made tortillas and appreciated that the veggies were super fresh, the hot sauces were truly spicy, and the mango Agua Fresca was yummy so I have high hopes and plan to go back again.

Thursday 7/20 around 3pm. Ordered pickup through ubereats. It is listed as a different name but says being prepared by taco city. When I go to pick up the lady says there are no orders and says that isnt even the same place. Ok fine. I leave, reset GPS and it takes me right back. Again I go in to make sure. The lady says there arent any orders, were done with orders, idk what to tell you, etc. Ok fine. I leave and get food elsewhere. The lady calls to apologize and tell me they did have my order but its was under R instead of the whole last name. Really? Major eye roll. I feel like this should have been common sense to check that way. Tbh she didnt seem like she wanted to be helpful from the start so no points for the apology after coming in twice and being made to feel stupid.

Came here to celebrate a friends birthday. The food had barely any flavor. The drinks were a joke. Ordered a mango margarita, it tasted like only mix. Ordered a Paloma and that was just Fresca and Ice. Asked the bartender about the drink and she said the owner watches what they pour. So she offered an extra shot. Watched her pour the shot from a Jimador bottle. Went to add it half to my drink and decided to shoot the other half and guess what? It was WATER lol. They literally poured water from the Jimador bottle. Ill never come back to this place. Keep this in mind when ordering drinks here. Even for the birthday cake, they wouldnt give us small plates or forks. Ive never been to any restaurant where they refuse to. Thats wild. If I could leave zero stars I would.

They will do it. And everyone and I mean everybody needs to try their fresh fruit drinks that pineapple hit different watermelon smooth too. I went in, ordered to go and it took them 20 minutes to make my food and there were maybe 3 tables in the entire restaurant. Oh well, I chose to look past it because I ve been a server before and things happen. But when I got my food, I went to my car and ate one taco. It wasn t good, so I checked another taco and the chicken was uncooked. Needless to say, the food was disgusting and unsafe to eat and I m not sure why it took 20 minutes to make if it wasn t even cooked. If I could give 0 stars I would.

The food is phenomenal! My favorites are the Birria, shrimp and Salmon tacos, Caldo de pollo served with a side of rice and hand made corn tortillas (chicken vegetable soup with tons of veges) Delicious queso dip and chips. So many options with generous portions and everything is reasonably priced. I choose to dine in for the freshness. Also, very accommodating for private parties as well. Enjoy!

Yummy! We were kindly greeted by a nice gentleman by the name of Alexis. He was very informative with the menu and patient. Our food came out promptly and it looked amazing! Food was fresh and hot, flavorful, and good portions. We enjoyed the aguas frescas, we got watermelon and lime. I highly recommend the drinks they were perfect! Our food was brought out by Nancy, she was very friendly and kind. We have been looking for a good taco spot in mesquite for the last 6 years and finally we have found it!! Taco city is the spot to go to for good street tacos. Stop on by and check them out, the place was very clean and it s huge. Big enough to accommodate big parties. The restrooms also smelled and looked very clean. Welcome to Mesquite Taco City y mas!! Glad you call Mesquite your new home! Thank you Nancy and Alexis!

Will never go to this place again!. They where rude to me. When I came to pick up my togo order! I had placed an order to go. I went to a store across the street. While they where making my tacos. 5 min laters I went back to pick up my order. I walked in and she asked me I did I want. I said To the lady at the counter. Im here to pick up my to go order I placed. She then played dumb and acted like she didnt know who I was. Then she was like oh yea. You had the taco plate right?. And I was like yes thats mine. Then she handed to me. And says You did pay for it right? This was very disrespectful. I dont know if it was because I am black or what. But Im never going there again! It was my first time being there!. worst First impression!

Food was decent. It wasn t very hot more like warm to cold. They weren t busy yet took them forever to take orders. I understand the frustration of new employees or system but it shouldn t take more than 10 mins to take someone s order. Plus the music was way to loud.

Always struggled finding truly authentic and quality mexican food ever since moving to dallas atleast through the standard instilled to me by my family. Although few spots exist that I can speak the same about I found myself feeling like Im back in the city of puebla waiting to get served a delicious taco al pastor con pina may i add which not many places take the time to add! This place is hands down the best mexican food in mesquite and possibly up there with the best in dallas; greatest addition in my neighborhood so far! Will continue to be regular this is my new go to spot.
