A very well overdue review Honestly, Initially coming here, the price of the Suya was shocking to me, I was like why so expensive but babes trust and believe the QUANTITY was WORTH it and talk of the quality, savory of the Suyas.. What!!!! Yes please! Actually eat mine for days. The owner is so so kind and humble, honestly the initiative to offer guests/customers the little chop/ taste , to me it s a nice welcome and you might like this Mumu me will most likely buy cos why not, all so good. My fave is the chicken and beef Suya. Osuma Suya quenches my craves for Nigeria authentic Suya. Will 100% recommend

If you want that authentic Nigerian delicacy, visit Osuma Suya for the best of spicy beef, mutton, or chicken kebab. I love they dish it in the quintessential old newspaper wrap, except theirs is more hygienic/ nontoxic. Highpoint: their jollof rice is fire. Shawarna is on point too. Drawback: there is no dine in.

Great place and very wonderful customer service! I ve been there lots of times to get their Beef and Ram Suya but today we tried other stuff my daughter just discovered they sell. The agege bread sandwich was super great and I was impressed by the customer service from Osuma himself; though they didn t have this on the menu today, he went out of his way to make it for us! The Chicken and Beef shawarma were also great! Top of them all is the Turkey Suya; super delicious and spicy! You guys rock!!!

If youre looking for an unforgettable Suya experience, Osuma Suya is the place to be. From the moment you step in, the ambiance is warm and inviting, striking the perfect balance between casual comfort and vibrant energy. The décor reflects a genuine appreciation for Nigerian culture, enhancing the dining experience. The standout feature, however, is the exceptional customer service. The staff at Osuma Suya are not only friendly and attentive but also knowledgeable about the menu, eager to offer recommendations and ensure you have a memorable meal. Their genuine hospitality makes every visit feel special. Now, let s talk about the Suya truly the star of the show. Each skewer is freshly prepared, marinated to perfection, and grilled to achieve a delightful balance of spicy, savory, and smoky flavors. The quality of the meat is evident in every bite, and the array of accompaniments complements the Suya beautifully. Osuma Suya truly exceeds all expectations. The suya tasted like authentic Lagos Suya. The Zobo and Chapman were really good as well. But the Zobo is on the sweeter side if that is your preference. The owner and the staff are very warm, friendly and welcoming! The environment was very clean too. The wait maybe slightly long but worth it. I was recommended to try them and they did not disappoint. I really hope they open up a location in the DMV.

Warning: Overpriced!!!! Food is delicious and plentiful. For a fast food suya joint, this place is nice and well maintained. Great customer service. If it wasn t overpriced I would ve gave it 5 stars. This is not a place you can just walk to with the family and just grab and go. You do that you will end up with a fat price tag. This suya joint is more for the single people that can so much afford it.

My first time trying this place..and OMG!! SUYA beef in a TACO..yes more please!!...DELICIOUS...SPICY(warning for the sensitive folks) and fully loaded..I was able to finish only 2. Will be back to try rest of the items on the menu..oh and that zoba drink was really good too....just tastes healthy!! :) Update: tried the fish and the beef shwarma today...Loved it!! Fish could be little more crunchy....but with the right amount of spice and the raw onions it was just as good.. place is little pricey but I havent tried other suya places ..yet.. Update 03/2024 They stopped selling the small fried fish ..bummer .. the chicken suya wasnt that good..but the beef was good as always..

First time here, was excited after seeing the pictures of the food so we decided to try it. The amount for the prices was a little disappointing but I get it, the cost of everything has gone up. Ordered the Ramb and the Beef suya with rice. The ramb was good. The beef tasted as if it had been cooked a day or 2 before and the seasoning on it had been piled on top. The beef was not fresh, it was soggy like. The rice was burnt tasting and tasted like it was cooked too close to charcoal on a grill or something. Disappointed with it being my first visit. I may give them a try again not sure yet.

I heard about this place from a friend and knew I had to check it out! Ram Suya - very chewy but the flavor was really good, would not get again and would not recommend Jollof Rice - it was mediocre, had a weird taste to be honest. Chicken Shawarma - this was the saving grace and all I needed, it was amazing! Good bold flavors with plenty of meat! I am excited to try the other food items and the people were friendly hence the high rating.

I m not usually interested in writing reviews but Osuma was different. It was my first time there and I had just wanted to get a taste of the suya. I ended up getting beef suya, chicken and jollof rice. Service was awesome, as soon as we placed orders, they quickly got us a taste of what we ordered. The suya was perfect. It gave a taste of home. It took me to Nigeria and back with the first bite. The jollof rice was amazing, the nose ate and approved before it even got to the mouth. Party aroma taste portion size The food left me super impressed. If you re Dallas, go get a bite. I hope Osuma opens a restaurant so people can actually sit and enjoy such goodness of a food.

The customer service was the best and he gave us some tasters which was very delicious. The next day we went back, we tried the shawarma, asuu, beef suya, kilishi, fish suya and everything was 100% top notch, tasty, juicy and well prepared, it was the best of everything i have tried in America. The environment was very clean, and warm welcoming we got made us relaxed, customer service was so polite, friendly and helpful, they helped us wrapped our to-gos in foil so it won t get bad since we were traveling out of State! I can t wait for them to come to Maryland! And I highly recommend them for their good food and customer service!! Keep it up Vegetarian options: You can indicate if your are a vegetarian and they will prepare your dish for you Kid-friendliness: Yes it is kids friendly! A Disheartening Dining Experience at Osumasuya My recent visit to Osumasuya was, unfortunately, a disappointing journey through flavors that can best be described as sorrow mixed with salt. Jollof Rice: The jollof rice seemed like it had been reheated far too many times, leaving it with a tough, chewy bottom. This dish, normally a staple of warmth and flavor, was instead a hard, joyless version of what it should be. Asun: The asun didn t fare much better. The meat was overly soft, almost mushy, resembling shredded beef that had been awkwardly glued together rather than the traditionally savory and tender asun. Shawarma: The shawarma was a notable letdown. The meat was hard and tasted burnt. I acknowledge that my late order, about an hour before closing, might have been a factor, but it doesn t entirely excuse the poor quality. Suya: Then there was the suya. It was tough and lacked the essential flavors no spice, no zest, just a hard and joyless chew. A Glimmer of Hope Kilishi: Amidst this disappointing experience, the kilishi was a pleasant surprise. It was the only part of the meal that I genuinely enjoyed, which highlights the unfulfilled potential of the rest of the dishes. Concluding Thoughts: I had high hopes for Osumasuya, but the meal I received was a far cry from the vibrant, flavorful Nigerian cuisine I love and was expecting. The overall taste of the food was akin to sorrow mixed with salt, leaving me not just dissatisfied but genuinely disheartened. It s my hope that this was an off day for the restaurant and not the norm, as there is certainly room for improvement.

Best suya I have ever eaten since I left naija. Had a family vacation to Huston Texas but prior to the trip I had planned to visit Osuma Suya as i had always seen his post on ig. Had to convince my hubby to take an 8 hours road trip (from Huston to Dallas and back to Huston same day) just to get the suya. Mehn we were impressed by the best customer service we received from Osuma Himself and his staff. Lots of tasting to go around while we waited to be served. Osuma suya was yummy, we bought extras to take home. I definitely recommend it to anyone living in Texas. Distance is never a barrier to eating good suya. I am glad my hubby also enjoyed it and enjoyed the experience with Osuma. If not ehn i for cry go house. The journey was definitely worth it. Will definitely visit again

Food is okay service and atmosphere is terrible! We ordered in store, said it would take 1 hour. 2 hours in and food is not ready. I asked why and they said they were waiting on ram , for more than 2 hours???? The place started smoking, and the best they could do was open the door and let the hot air in making waiting even more unbearable. Waiting area does not provide enough space for waiting so people were just standing around. Then found out a 4% charge is being added to every order with no explanation as to what it is. The owner had to come in to tell me it is a clover fee . Meaning you are paying for them to charge you using clover. Very unacceptable! And if you are charging people for food WAYYYY ABOVE market price, MAKE IT WORTH IT. No apologies given to any issues. Suggestions: put people s name on receipts to know what order goes to who, have structure: too many people doing to same thing, and GET A MANAGER WHO IS PASSIONATE ABOUT ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Osuma suya was my Go to place for suya. My first experience was phenomenal and the food and service was great!!! >>>Fast ward to yesterday, the suya spice had a grainy (sandy) texture to it which Totally ruined the feel of the food, it Definitely was not a nice and pleasant experience. I have to throw out the remaining suya. Im not sure why Nigerian businesses cant maintain quality over a long period of time.

I loved the ambiance of the place and the art work was great. The owner was there and he told the staff to give us complimentary beef suya which was lovely. It was spicy though but I was able to handle it. I ended up ordering a suya burger and I was very excited because I love suya and spice. I ate my suya burger and it tasted lovely but I could not finish it. The level of spice was volcanic. I was confused because prior to that I just ate the complimentary suya. Maybe the chef was to heavy handed with the spice seasoning. I am a Nigerian American that loves very spicy food but this was way too spicy for me. I had really bad heart burn afterwards and I had to take Tums . My suggestion is for this restaurant to offer a spice scale. Like very hot , medium and mild. So people have options. Please consider this suggestion because everyone spice level is different. That way people can know what their getting into when they order. I will say the food was very tasty so I would definitely come back again but maybe next time I should be more specific in my order to make the food less spicy. But overall amazing restaurant. Great vibes and look forward to come back again.

Authentic Food and Amazing Service! I placed an order a week prior and actually flew in from ATL. Once I knew I was going to be in Texas, I started my search for Suya. Osuma Suya kept popping up on all my searches on social media so I was curious about the hype! It s located in a great area for starters and just by the aroma from outside I knew I was not going to be disappointed! There was a slight wait but it s a testament to how good it is! They had closed at 8 but still had a long line! I met the owner right outside and he was reassuring clients on the wait! Really genuine man who cares about real feedback and QUALITY FOOD!! Now the food????? FRESH AND HOT which is rare. I got the chicken Suya, beef Suya, shawarma, kilishi, fish and a ginger drink that was so refreshing! I will be back a second time before my trip is over for sure!!!!

This place has one of the best Suya and kilishi I have tested in the US. I have tried their beef and ram Suya. I preferred the beef Suya personally but both Suya tasted good with good African flavors. The food is a little bit pricey. But it is worth it in my opinion. I have also met the owner and he seems nice and has always been there every time we stopped by. The reason why I gave a 4 star review because of the Kilishi. First of all, it is the best Kilishi I have rated in the US and will advise everyone to get it. The first batch of Kilishi we tried was amazing. However, the recent one that we bought yesterday, although it was flavorful, it had too much fat unlike our first purchase. The fat amounted to more than half the meat. I was very disappointed with that. Kilishi shouldn t have fat. I have attached pictures for reference. One of the picture is the fat that I removed and threw away. The other picture is part of the order with the fat. I paid that high price for good quality meat not fat. I looked at the package again and in the back of it I see fat. Most likely the server knew that there was fat and did not let us know before hand.

I do not leave reviews but this is more of a feedback. When you started the sharwarma was a good size and wrapped how Nigerian sharwarma back home was wrapped and had sauce and wasn t dry. For some reason the size has been reduced drastically and wrapped more like a burrito.. also whoever the chef is doesn t understand the meaning of adding sauce to the sharwarma even when you request for extra sauce. No one who knows what good sharwama is wants to eat dry sharwarma. The whole experience of ordering sharwarma from Osuma is now lacking.. why is it more wrap than sauce and meat? I m eating it as I type and I am annoyed. Suya is excellent, please maintain your quality and standards or up the price so people can enjoy their meal without getting upset.

I heard about this place from a friend but I did not want to make the drive. I am so glad I checked it out when I was around the neighborhood last weekend. I took a snippet of the place and the menu. Mr. Osuma was in the back helping but made time to say hello to the customers. Jalecia was great and she does her job with a smile on her face. I ordered the beef and chicken suya, both served with onions and cucumbers. Well seasoned meat and delicious. Check out this spot and thank me later. P.S. expect a queue when you get there but service is quick. Thank you and keep on keeping on!

Great tasting suya and beef shawarma, especially if you like spicy food. On average there is about a 10-15 minute wait if you order in person, but that is because it is made fresh while you wait. The jollof rice is also pretty good. Best and most authentic suya so far in the Dallas area in my opinion.

I walked in this restaurant out of curiosity to learn what does suya mean and I was delighted to taste these delicious and spicy meat dishes originally from Nigeria. The spicy level is , but it is worth it. I also like the hibiscus drink there. I loved the colorful wall paintings. The people there are super nice and helpful to recommend what to eat. It s a takeout place only and not always open, but it s worth to try.

I drove far just to try it and support a fellow African restaurant. I saw their advertisement on tiktok and loved it. The Suya was great and the place is very clean. Now one thing that did stand out to me was the price. I ve had Suya plenty of times and it is typically eaten as a side or snack for no more than $10. The price is unreasonably high especially for no sides included. And again, it is typically eaten as a side or heavy snack so the big portion size is interesting. It was nice to see people in their neighborhood supporting them as there aren t too many African restaurants.

Ok so I give this a one star cause the place looks nice and clean. But the customer service is TERRIBLE and ugly. The food was too spicy and tasted worse than my grandmas apple pies. It s like they dumped the meat in habenaro sauce and sprinkled black pepper powder, plus red chili pepper. I almost had a stroke and a grade 3 heart burn that spicy suya could have killed me. The lady never asked us if we wanted mild or strong spicy! Terrible experience.
