She took care of us during an especially busy time with a cheerful and friendly attitude. Cotton Patch is lucky to have her on their staff. The Sunday $9.99 special is Chicken n Dumplins. Yum. Great service from Joni in a down home setting. People are just so sweet in McKinney. Maybe it comes with the sweet tea! I also came for the fried green tomatoes, which exceeded my expectations, especially with the avocado ranch that comes with it. I ordered squash casserole and a whole sweet potato, steamy hot and dripping with butter! Soft fluffy dinner rolls accompanied the meal. But the best part of the meal, was my visit with Mary, the delightful GM. When she said her favorite part of the job was the people she met, I believed her! Customer service can make or break a business. And although my meal was delicious, she will be the reason I return to this location! That, and for the best chicken fried steak in town!

Awesome experience! Refugio met us at the door and had hot rolls on the table asap. We ordered fried green tomatoes, fish and shrimp and were delighted with our meals! Im super picky about my fried green tomatoes, and these were wonderful! Heidi dropped by our table and welcomed us like we were old friends. We will definitely be back. Recommend 10/10!!! I went there with my wife and son around 2 pm on a Saturday. There were hardly any customers there, but plenty of staff roaming around or just hanging out, but no one at the front host station. We waited for about 12 minutes and no one ever greeted us or offered to seat us. We were in plain view and plenty of staff members made eye contact, but no one came over and offered to seat us even though they could plainly see there was no host. We ended up leaving and will never return.

I have been a fan of Cotton Patch for a few years. But some locations are definitely better than others. This location has definitely turned things around in recent months. I dont know if its new ownership, new management, or what. But everything is great now. Better wait staff, food always comes out hot (now), and its consistently good. Im glad I didnt give up on them a few months ago when things were not so good. If you went there a few months ago when the waiters were not good and the food was not so good, give them another try now. Kudos!

Nice quiet and relaxing atmosphere after a long day at work. The food was better than I expected. Out waitress, Amanda, was so sweet and attentive. She took our order and within 15 minutes our food arrived. I had turkey and dressing. The food was seasoned well and not overly salty. Nothing was salty. Amanda, brought a sample of the jalapeño gravy for our rolls and WOW! The gravy had so much flavor! They are currently offering daily dinner specials for $9.99 and we plan to return later this week.

My family attended to go there and eat after church yesterday. We sat down my dad and I were the only 2 black people in the entire restaurant. After sitting for over an hour and watching everyone around us who had come in after us be served and my dad even paying the bill of an elderly couple who were sitting next to us, we decided to leave. When speaking with the manager about what was taking so long he told me they were waiting on the grilled chicken to be done. What was funny is both of the tables next to us who sat down 30 minutes after us both ordered grilled chicken and both had already been served. It s 2024 and yet we still have to deal with disrespect and racism from people whom we show the upmost respect to. It s piss poor to be honest! I hate to have to make a review like this, but if it s not dealt with who will be the next victim to have to feel the complete disrespect that we felt in front of our 9 and 8 year old children and grandchildren! To have to explain to my kids something they have never had to experience is very difficult.

This cotton patch has gone down hill. I have been in here 3 times in the last two weeks. Its super slow. The workers dont seem to understand the basic jobs of working at reataraunt. For example, I could see where the kitchen puts the food once its prepared foe the waitress to take to the table. Without it being busy, the food sat there for 10-15 minutes. The waitress was not busy during this time. The to-go waitresses are soooooo slow at packaging orders for pick up. I routinely have to wait 15 minutes for food after arrival. I wish management would do something about this cotton patch to improve it.

Walked in and waited forever to be noticed. Finally a server came over and completely ignored my kids and me. Instead sat down 2 ladys who came in well after we did. I waited patiently still but when I looked around 3/4 of the restaurant was empty and enough staff. First time at Cotton Patch. The service was great and the food was hot and delicious. I was looking for coffee and a donut but they have a Monday chicken fried steak special so I thought I would try it. My only complaint is that restaurants seem to be pulling little fast ones lately and it happened here. First the special is 9.99 but the bill comes with regular price so then I have to wait for it to be fixed. Could just be an honest mistake. Then the $14.xx bill is rounded up to $15. No biggie I was going to leave the change for the waitress in addition to the over 20% tip I gave her but.. since when? Is this standard now? I hate having to closely check every bill, otherwise this would have been the best first time experience.

There s a lot I want to say about this location over the years, but I m going to just stick to my most recent visit. My main entree was just fine, but my sides were ridiculous. My fried okra was way undercooked and so chewy I had to spit it out (my mom had the same problem). They now charge extra for cinnamon apples which cost almost nothing at the store, but I guess I got the end of the can/bag because it was tiny pieces that I could barely stab with a fork. My sister got the complete wrong fish. The waitress fixed it, but it was supposed to be herb pecan crusted, and instead they just dumped a bunch of maple glazed pecan hunks on top of the meat my sister actually used the words I think this is the worst meal I ve had in a while I m not sure who s working in the kitchen, but it seems like they either haven t had proper training, or they just literally don t care about their work. So disappointing, and I won t be willing to ever try them again. Should ve gone to Chili s!

This used to be such a good place. My last few orders have been mediocre until tonight. Tonight I got cold food and a Caesar salad with no dressing and no croutons. I believe this place is locally owned and my wife and I used to love to go there for breakfast. It s so disappointing, but this is been the experience my last couple of times. Oh, for your sake, I hope it gets better I won t be ordering again. Also ..I ordered the fish & chips .saltiest food I have had in a long time I love salt, but way too much. It s too bad. Don t bother with this place, there are a lot of better places in Fairview.

Jade was amazing. Staff so friendly. Music was great. Meatloaf, rolls and mash were all really good. Good comfort food. Only thing is this location could really use a deep cleaning. I mean the wood, glass, floors etc. It feels old. Other than that, good place to go.

I LOVE Cotton Patch so Im typically very forgiving, but Im just so disappointed. Ive been a few times in the last few months, and not once have they had bread. On top of that, the service is just really bad. It takes forever to be helped. from getting seated to ordering it is SO slow. Last night it took an hour just to get mine and my toddlers food, and they werent exactly busy. It seems like they have one good server, and the rest couldnt care less. The food is great, just takes too long to get.

Food was average, but unfortunately, the service was terrible. We got sat in a tiny booth and very rarely saw our server. In our tiny booth, we sat with dirty plates and empty glasses for most of our dinner. At the end of the dinner, we ordered dessert and went ahead and paid so we wouldn t have to wait any longer but then continued to wait for another 25 to 30 minutes with the dessert never coming out. We ended up just leaving because we had already been at the restaurant for over an hour and a half. Restaurant was at about 60% capacity, so not sure what was going on but probably won t be returning anytime soon.

Ordered 2 Patty Melts from McKinney location for a to-go order. When I got home we saw they made a so/called Patty Melt on burger buns instead of Texas toast, which is sourdough bread (they call theirs Texas Toast on their menu) usually toasted. I live in Frisco so couldn t go back. I called the next day to speak to the manager but was left on hold for 10 minutes, I then hung up. Hey, if I wanted a burger with grilled onion I would ve ordered that. Very dissatisfied. Will never eat there again.

I went here for a dinner and got the vibe that it is a small and family-oriented restaurant. The waiter, although a bit forgetful, had a wonderful personality. My favorite part of the restaurant is the bread that they offer with their meals lol, mostly cause I m a bread lover but also it was amazing. The food itself is good nothing just wowed but it was reasonably priced. Overall, Cotton Patch Cafe is a great place for a casual lunch.

My server reached across my table grabbed a napkin and wiped his sweat off of his head I put in my own order on his kiosk bc he couldnt stop interrupting me, drugs were obviously a big factor in his performance. Food was unseasoned and cold. Completely disappointed and wont be back again. Appreciate yall taking off half the bill and the coupons for next time but fire that dude and get some better staff!

I had ordered the chicken fried steak. The batter for the steak was seasoned well, but the steak itself was lacking in seasoning, it was very hot and I could tell it was fresh. My sides on the other hand seemed very cold as if they were sitting waiting on the steak. They were good just not hot. We had a great attentive server and the atmosphere was good. I will be back to try something else.
