Jolene s used to be my favorite go-to spot. Their friend chicken was delicious, juicy and addicting. I have always recommended this place to all my family and friends because the food was to die for, especially their mac and cheese! I ranked their Mac and Cheese #1 in the valley. However, my last three visits have been disappointing. The chicken now lacks flavor and they never have their mac and cheese ready for sale. I have gone at many different times, early in the afternoon, midday and evening, and they never have their mac and cheese available. Their food doesn t taste the same anymore. It s bland. Jolene s please fix this. Please have your mac and cheese available at all times. I miss your taste.

If yall miss The Cookshack Joelenes is the perfect place to get a fried chicken sandwich! Its a great portion size and they dont skimp on the toppings! I WILL BE COMING BACK!

The brisket sandwich was absolutely delicious but the coleslaw was horrible. It tasted rancid like if the mayo or cream they used to make it was left out in the heat. Neither my wife or I could take a second bite.

If you love fried chicken, this is your place. Super crispy on every bite. Look out for the juices, they will be hot! Very order is cooked in the spot. Had the waffle fries and Brussel sprouts were super fresh and seasoned perfectly. Highly recommend. Accompany with a cold beer and live music, and it s a perfect night out.

First timers ordering from here, on our never ending quest to find a juicy burger. Found it! Order the Smash Burger then stock up on napkins, youre going to need them. Meat, melted cheese n bun is all you need. We will be back .

My friend Leo recommend this place since I was craving smash burgers, so I tried it out. The burger was great a little to salty for my taste, but meat was juicy and crispy. The fries were waffle fries and they tasted a lot better then chick-fil-a. They seam more homemade and natural, very good. The place was great there was seating and can walk off the fullness once your done.

This was my first time trying their smash burger, and the size of the burger is very generous and the sauce they gave me with the fries was really good. The bun was good, and the meat was okay. Overall the burger was okay, but I felt it was lacking ingredients for an enhanced flavor, perhaps grilled onions or veggies, perhaps ill try something else in the future.

Got the smash burger with bacon and the fried green tomatoes. A little disappointed in the smash burger. Over cooked and dry for my taste. The fried green tomatoes were on point with the sauce they provided. They were delicious.. Ill be back just wont get the smash burger.

Upbeat and friendly atmosphere within the Mercado District, however Jolenes stands out with its delicious and fresh Southern style foods. The Fried Chicken Burger (Nashvillle Hot) is extremely juicy, flavorful, and well seasoned. The Fried Spare Ribs are crisp, fall off the bone, and extremely addictive. The Fried Chicken was moist, juicy, and crisped to perfection. The Bernie Mac N Cheese was flavorful and extray cheesy.

Joelene s is in the Mercado district in McAllen which is like a miniature mall with tiny adorable bazaar-type shops and a really nice food court. It s very clean, cute and new and all the restaurants are a really good quality. There are tvs everywhere with music. Perfect bustling atmosphere which was great for lunch and that s when we went here. You order and they text you when it s ready. We got the fried spare ribs, fried chicken platter and the smash burger. Everything was so delicious and excellent and couldn t have tasted much better.

The best barbecue in McAllen hands down. Their sister restaurant has been featured in Texas Monthlys top 50 bbq spots in Texas and does not disappoint. Do yourself a favor and come try this place out and support locally owned businesses! Ive heard the chicken sandwich is amazing but all I order is the brisket because its SO GOOD. 10/10

These two burgers are legit but the best one out of both is the pimento cheese burger. Not gonna lie I was jealous watching my wife eat that burger, the customer service is on point and really friendly and felt like I knew them a long time.

Wow! Surprising in a great way. Simplistic but food is really tasty! Got the chicken sandwich. The spicy version gives it a nice kick. Price is pretty reasonable as you get to choose a side for free. While the chicken sandwich looks simple. It delivers on crispiness and juiciness. The flavor is also great. Each bite leaves you wanting more and theres no grease like with some fried foods. I got the fries as my side. It tasted pretty much like chick fil a fries. Did its job. Im really excited to try some of the other menu items on my next trip back. This is a must try if you are making a stop at Mercado district!

Joelene s is SO GOOD and fairly priced, and they aren t shy of their portions either. Their secret sauce is tangy and Oh-So-Cravable, and their waffle fries have me in a choke hold. I love their food so much
