6/28/24 Very expensive for the amt of food. $11 for 3 small corn bistek tacos, small baked potato, small cup of beans, & drink. And thats the daily special. I asked for some more bacon bits & shredded cheese since there was only a sprinkle of each. She replied its an extra charge. I said nevermind... Music was too loud.

We decided on ordering the family pack which listed on their page is 25.99 for everything included. We placed a phone order and it was ready within 10 minutes which was awesome! Once we arrived the place looked empty almost as if it wasn t even open. We went to the drive through and signed for the order - immediately we noticed the discrepancy between the price listed and the price charged (we swore we heard 27$ and not 56$ *in Spanish*) since the food was already made we decided to take the meal and hope it was worth the price. Mayra was very hospitable and seemed to be the only employee between the phone and the front/drive thru. As far as the food goes at most the bistec tacos were the main attraction, and I did enjoy the horchata, everything else was mainly average; potato s were cheesy but missing salt, beans were hot but lacked flavor, and as far as the fountain drinks being canned cokes it comes off a little tacky especially for $60. It s very much giving El zarape even then I believe their family pack is the exact same but even cheaper. Maybe ideal for a family in a of something quick and basic.

Picked up tacos and one of my tacos tortillas had a bite. Returned at window and not even a manager cared to apologize for the incident. Just gave me another one. Now I know why not a lot of people go anymore. Would not return just not sure how things are done in kitchen.

$17.00 for a 1 person botana, all I got was a few pieces of meat and few pieces of chicken nothing but tostadas with cheese no sides. Never had an issue with this place but today completely disappointed and management unwilling to help with order.

We went in on Thursday night & ordered a Botana for 4. It was so loaded that 4 adults & 4 children ate with plenty of leftovers. Today, Sunday, we went for lunch and ordered the same order for 6 adults & the same 4 children. This time it was immediately obvious it was way less meat. This time, it was barely enough for all of us to eat, and we all ate less than last time. There was zero left over this time. We even ordered an appetizer to share this time. We will probably not go back with the expectations we had to feed us all well with that meal.

Delicious food and decent service. Pay with cash only. Avoid paying with card, theyll give themselves a tip. Ive noticed an extra $5 charge the 3 times Ive gone through the drive thru and Ive spoken to management on several occasions.

I hardly ever give reviews, but this place was great for our family. Great prices for the food and good food. After our meal dining in, i did place a to go order. My to go order was mixed up with someone else, but our waitress and manager stepped in and fixed it quickly. Im not from McAllen Tx. But Im sure our next vacation coming back in town we sure will be coming back.

We are regulars there and today would be our last time. We received awful service. The avocado served was brown. Waiter took it it and never brought anything back nor were we offer an apology or explanation as to why we would not get the avocado. I think we should have gotten a discount as we did not receive complete plate. Manager was notified but did not seem to concerned.

This place has terrible service. I only keep going back because the food is good. The young waitress never serviced us. She never camr to give us refills or check on us. My potato hardly had any cheese, butter, cream. I had to find her to tell her to bring me some. When the bill came they charged me $3 more for that. And I ask to talk to the manager he didnt even speak English. Nobody spoke English in this place. He sided with the waitress. I told him you gotta tell people your gna charge them for something when they ask. He said no. And that he couldnt help me. As we were leaving another waitress was telling my waitress that she needs to shape up because all of her tables were asking her for refills and other things. So I wasnt the only one getting bad service. And the manager should not be a manager. He should know both English and Spanish. And he was very rude and unapologetic. Terrible service. And its always like this. I bet they lose a lot of customers because of that.

0 stars! Horribly disgusting customer service from the manager on duty on 11/06/2022. The restaurant was practically empty but yet we waited for our food for about 25 to 30 minutes. The food came out cold and when I returned it he wanted to charge me for everything since I had taken a bite out if the taco and the baked potato. I did pay for what we consumed. He raised his voice at me while trying to make me understand how busy the drive thru was...unacceptable...and in front of my 8 y/o son! There is no reason for bad customer service and there is definitely no good reason for a manager to make a customer feel harassed. On top of everything, he refused to give me his supervisors name.

We have been coming here for years, service has gotten worse by the day. Its empty now compared to before. We seem to brush it off ,due to forgetting and end up here while in mcallen, today was the last draw, spouse took out a piece of plastic from her first spoon of beans right in front of waitress. NOT a single apology or manager showed concern at all. She took long to get our order right and it still was brought out completely wrong. All I wanted was no cream on a papa, and ended up getting to plain papas with everything on the side... time to make a post on a restaurant group page to find a new taqueria.

The worst service I ve ever experienced at any restaurant hands down. I d only been here once before to dine in and thought they were just having a bad night but somehow got worse service the second time. The food here is just meh also. The servers were so were so inattentive we could ve walked out on our tab and they probably wouldn t have even known. Had to wait 20 minutes up at the front just to pay.

The beef fajitas parrillada was okay, the cost for it is $13.99. The beef fajitas were okay not heavily seasoned, the grilled onions were delicious they got some sort of seasoning, the beans had a good taste to them, the rice was a bit simple the taste was just decent, the charro beans had a good taste but they were lacking bacon, cueritos or salchichas. Overall i think the food is okay, but for the price it should have guacamole (or replace beans and rice for it), and a bit more meat.

Prices are too high for the quality of the food. On top of the elevated prices, they charge a service fee for paying with a debit card. That fee should be the establishment s responsibility. In addition, my order was done incorrectly and when I called to have my order corrected, they left me on hold, stopped answering the phone and finally was able to speak to someone who was very rude, unhelpful and hung up the phone on me. It was their mistake and they were not willing to correct it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS TO ANYONE!!
