It was a good park for the 5/7 year old - but the 2 year old couldnt do anything. Walking trail seemed nice. Playground: The park has a slide that has a ladder to climb up to it. Rope climbs, balancing objects, rock climbing mini wall. Great for kids older than 3/4.

This park has a nice paved walking path that ends up being about .5 miles. It also has 2 tennis courts to play at! There were a lot of other walkers and kids playing on the playground so I felt safe walking here by myself!

This is our favorite park in Lubbock. There is something for everyone here. There is a pretty pond with fish, ducks, geese and a variety of trees. The playground is nice and rarely crowded. There is also a nice paved walking trail and pavillions with benches. I think there is even a camping style charcoal grill available.

Love Hoel Park! Excellent for a walking park. Small playground but enough to keep the kids amused for a bit. But they have the best flock of Geese around! And the ducks are awesome too!! My daughter and I frequent this park feeding geese and keeping fit! Our family came to visit so this is where we came for our family walk!!

The home of thousands of Canada Geese every fall, plus a large population of Mallards...A few Great Blue Herons, 2 or three Double Crested Cormorants, 8 very large domestic geese of some sort, and finally, a half dozen Northern Shovelers. I love them all...the playa lake at Hoel Park @ Lubbock TX!

I found the park to be well keeped and serene. The playground equipment and benches were an attractive feature that seemed to draw in community people who seemed to enjoy them. The park is well lighted and has two lighted tennis courts. The courts needed to be resurfaced and regulation nets need to be installed. I understand using the linked fencing for nets is a low budget, low maintenance stopgap but real nets would add to the park quality. I enjoy going there.

The catfish hunting is excellent (do NOT eat lol), tons of small to medium cats reeled in using BAR-S hot dog skins on a 2 ft-ish bobber between 8 and 25 ft out. Great shade tree spots on each side of the pond, around the clock. Perfect for little ones to learn and be excited about fishing, yet when the inevitable small child boredom kicks in, the playground is close by and easy to see. Highly recommend.
