Havent been in a couple of years. Their chicken salad with red onions,and peppers on toasted croissants was so delicious. Asking myself why? Why havent I been back sooner. My lunch partner got the fried shrimp, it was very good as well.

Chicken salad heaven. I got 3 scoops & it was a LOT of meat. All 3 were unique & delicious. Ordered two meats on a croissant & the other meat I ordered a side of sourdough bread which fed me again later in the day. Sooo much good food. If you like chicken salad, go to Roost.

Love the variety of chicken salads they have! My favorites are the BBQ, Thai, and Southern. I usually get the 3 scoop plate with a side. Not a fan of the pasta salad due to the dressing used on it but there are several sides to choose from. If you like chicken salad give them a try! Also they have breakfast which I hear is very tasty as well.

Finally a quaint little café in Longview...exceptionally well-seasoned food, atmosphere that really invites you in...employees that are helpful - no ungodly piercings or lewd tattoos, and with very upbeat personality and a sense of humor...and prices are extremely fair... Only discovered the place a week ago and have dined there twice... Well worth the trip!

Food choices and portions were excellent. We ordered three different things with breakfast and lunch items all tasting great! Staff was friendly and welcoming. Only issue was some items came to table much later than others. I would definitely go again to try other dishes!

Idk if it s just the location or the recipe is the same across all of your restaurants, but the avocado chicken salad was so very dry along with the non sourdough tasting bread. First time eating here. Was a good experience. I was surprised by the amount of different chicken salad option they had, I thought maybe 1 or 2, but I think the lady said there are 12 or 14 different options. Friendly staff. We just used The Roost to cater a Holiday meal for our company of over 400 employees and they did an amazing job! The were friendly, helpful, and even helped work around some scheduling errors on our end. The food was great and our employees really enjoyed the whole experience. As far as Im concerned they have the best pancakes in Longview. They are prone to getting orders wrong and being too crowded. I wouldnt recommend the curry chicken salad. Its something I make at home and have had a lot of different places. When you get it here its a pretty unnatural color. Its also very dry and dense, it was like trying to eat a dry sponge.

On 11/30, we ordered two meals through Door Dash. The chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and pasta salad. The rooster with fries, potatoe salad, pasta salad, and corn on the cob. Chicken fried steak is my all-time, so I thought Id give theirs a try. It was pretty good, very tender. The mashed potatoes and country gravey though was a shock! Apparently, the only seasons that were used for both were pepper lots and lots and lots of pepper. So much pepper, that the potatoes and gravey were actually spicy, so spicy I couldnt eat it. I didnt like the pasta salad either, but my son did. The whole meal wasted! The only complaint my son had about the rooster is that it was so big and filling that he should have ordered a half instead of a whole. The fries were very good. He also liked the other sides. I had my son and a friend both try the chicken fried steak with the mashed potatoes and country gravey, and they too thought way too much pepper was used. I dont know if maybe the lid came off of the pepper container or if thats how they always make it. Highly Disappointed!

Price was outrageous, they said they blow the competition out of the water but there was no silver ware, no coffee, food was cold by the time they got silverware, all the tables were dirty. One of their staff, I cant remember his name, took the time to help me get seated, got my drink for me and generally went out of his way to make that visit as comfortable as possible. Everything was good; however, there was a missed opportunity. I have to eat a gluten-free diet (non celiac gluten sensitive) and found chicken salad with gf bread that fits my needs, which was great. Unfortunately, the man that brought out plates out just sat them all in front of us without mentioning which was gf. Ive been gf long enough that I can tell the difference in the breads. However, there may be newly diagnosed people who really arent sure. Please give the courtesy of ensuring the correct plate goes in front of the correct diner. Other than that small incident, all else was very good.

Went to eat with my daughter at Roost. We went for lunch in the mood for a good sandwich or salad. They had great menu. My daughter couldnt say no to the Nutella French toast with bananas, it came with eggs and potatoes. Her meal was amazing and delicious! I had this beautiful Reuben sandwich it is my favorite. Unfortunately, as good as its looked the sauerkraut was non existent, and the meat was sooo chewy. I could not finish it. It was a beautiful sandwich and you cannot wait to eat it but I just could not enjoy it, it was too tough. I will definitely eat there again but Im not sure I would order the Reuben again.

I greatly appreciate their customer service and politeness. I didnt realize they closed at 7pm untill I looked at the door and my family showed up at 7:30pm. They told us about the grab and go and it was exactly what we needed for the night! The chicken spaghetti was delicious! 10-22-23 My wife had hair in her eggs, I told them about the problem and it looked like all they did was take it back to the kitchen and plucked the hair out. When we got the plate the eggs were kinda cold which made me think all they did was pluck that hair out. I told them politely about it and they gave us a 10 dollar coupon because of what happened. It kinda ruined our appetite but we appreciated the customer service.

Id have to say the sandwiches were pretty good here. The coffee, too. One recommendation on the coffee; have some non-dairy creamers for your customers who need it. The gumbo,....lets talk about the gumbo. Ive lived in the South for many years. Not just one place, either. Ive lived in Louisiana, Alabama, and East Texas. Ive had some really, really good gumbo in all those years. My wife makes some of the best! The Roost doesnt make that list. Whoever made it added way too much cayenne pepper to it. Either they added too much, or they were trying to cover something up! You couldnt taste the gumbo through the spice! To bad because they could have easily rated four stars if they hadnt blown up the gumbo!

I just had coffee but my wife had breakfast and really enjoyed it. What I love the most was the process. You order at the counter. They give you your coffee cup and you get your own. After they bring you the food, they leave you alone! I love it! I don t go to breakfast to have a waitress or waiter interrupt me several times to ask if everything is alright. The food and service seemed good, but I found myself getting up to hunt for things that should have come with the meal like a fork or spoon to eat my steamed vegetables or a napkin when the sandwich juice was oozing down my hand. Also, the menu is hard for people like me who dont frequent the restaurant. It is up on the display and in small print. I felt like I was blocking other customers by standing in front of the counter to read over the menu. I felt rushed, so I was not able to look over their menu items closely. Finally, $35 seemed pricey for 2 sandwiches.

Today was my first visit and it did not disappoint! Ive seen several of the Facebook ads consistently on my feed and had to try them out. Today I got the Rooster sandwich with potato salad. OMG!! So delish! It was seriously piled high just as described. You have the option of getting a half or a whole sandwich and I of course tackled the whole one! It is more than enough food to satisfy 2 people!! The jalapeño cheese bread was sweet and soft. The bacon was perfectly cooked and crispy! The brisket and ham were so juicy and complimented the sandwich so well!! The avocado and egg made it healthier and more delicious!!! The delectable bbq sauce will make your eyes roll into the back of your head!! Its a sweeter sauce. The potato salad was perfect as well. I will be satisfied for the remainder the day. I dont usually eat out because I am trying to budget better in my late 30s and get this adulting thing under control of course, but gosh I am SO glad I decided to see what everyone else talks about. The restaurant was clean and organized. I called to speak to the manager, Trevor, to tell him how much I enjoyed my food and he was so nice and appreciated the compliment. I will be back!! Ill just had to set aside a budget labeled The Roost over there with Trevor and the gang because I love it there!! Please go see for yourself! Only 4 stars because in ordered my eggs over medium and they were slightly less done than I would have liked (whites still runny in spots). Otherwise this place rocks, for an order at the counter, food gets delivered to your table kind of place.

The fish tacos were PHENOMENAL and the broccoli salad was so fresh. The breakfast was hot and fresh and the French toast was perfection. Great service, attentive manager and clean dining room and restroom. 10/10 we will be coming here every time I come to Longview.

We love this place! Such good food, and a fun place to eat. Unfortunately part of our take out order got mixed up and I called about it and nothing was done about it. Just said sorry and hung up service for that could ve been better. But overall I recommend this place.

What a great shop! The chicken salad is great! But theres other great choices as well. The Monte Cristo is a little different but is so good! My only regret is I forgot to take pictures! Ill get some next time.

The staff are super friendly and respectful. The food was awesome. I got the full rooster, and it is a LOT of meat on the sandwich. The breakfast that everyone was ordering also looked really good. I will be recommending this place to everyone I know.
