This is my favorite restaurant in the DFW area and one of the best Mexican restaurants I ve ever experienced. No frills, just a great restaurant. The food is superb, the prices are reasonable, the facilities are clean, and the service is outstanding. The owner is always here and acts as the server, providing excellent customer service and displaying true pride in her business. I really don t know what else I can say, this is a splendid restaurant. I love to support small businesses - especially when they are this awesome - I can t wait to dine here again.

Smaller place which should and would get full quickly. The servers are more than courteous snd the food might convince me to move to Dallas! It s that good :) the spicy food isn t flat and just hot but has spices that make you keep eating until you can t see anything but peppers lol. The portions are generous and the plating is great and thoughtful and demure. Yes yes yes I m glad it s part of my Dallas visit.

We were in town for a conference and wanted authentic Mexican food! The staff here were so personable and kind, and the food was absolute WONDERFUL!!!! The chicken enchiladas were the best I ve ever eaten. The guacamole dip was very tasteful. The food was not salty, but seasoned just perfectly! Try this place if you want an authentic Mexican meal with great service.

We did a little staycation by the DFW airport and found this restaurant. They just opened last November and the food was really good. What stood out was Tablitas on the menu. Ive never seen that at a restaurant before. The short ribs were so tender and the flavor was outstanding. Homemade chips and salsa also were so good and complimentary! I also appreciated that they were able to accommodate my highly allergic toddler.

OMG! Idk where to begin, I walked into this small hidden gem and was honestly amazed. I have visited Mexico, different parts in my travel for the last couple of years, and I have tried some of the BEST food they have to offer! This restaurant is truly a reflection of the authenticity of Mexico, and the delicious savory and creative dishes they have prepared for us. I am simply in love again! We were greeted warmly, immediately seated and then they brought chips and salsa which was absolutely delicious. Everything taste, and felt authentic from the moment we walked in. As we continued, we both agreed we were excited to pick out appetizers, entrees and desserts to share! We decided on the Queso Fundido added chicken, Tablitas, Arias Parrilla Mixta, and the most satisfying, delicious, amazing peach cobbler I ever had in my life! (I m a Baker) and sell desserts, and this is was like no other peach cobbler I ever tasted! Just beyond my expectations! I know some won t believe, but I have witnesses, I sat there and cried real tears of joy, as I bit into this peach cobbler. It was the best thing I ve ever tasted dessert wise. WOW,WOW,WOW!!! I literally wanted to start crying because the food was that good!! weve been to Mexico, and the food tasted like we were in Mexico again! I couldnt believe it! Our experience at Familia Restaurante was great. We enjoyed the Tapatios, Guiso de res, and peach cobbler. The food is authentic homemade and did not take long at all to come out. This place is fantastic! Best new restaurant Ive discovered in years. The food was great, the service was great. Everyone was hospitable and joking around. It was like someone invited me over to their familys house. We had the best time. Our table ordered: Sopes, vegetarian enchiladas, chicken enchiladas with spicy queso sauce, and sopapillas. Everything was great, and the black beans were perfect. That green salsa is really, really good! Will definitely be back.

We tried the mole enchiladas and trompito taco plates today. Some of the best mole I have ever tasted!!! The trompo tacos were great also. Nothing but sweet empty memories left on our plates . Can t wait to try again!! Kid-friendliness: The restaurant is small so probably not lots of room for strollers, but the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. They will go out of the way to ensure everyone is comfortable and has a pleasant experience.

We were in town and discovered this place on Google and decided to give it a try. So glad we did! Loved the atmosphere, the staff and the food! Everything from the chips and their dips, drinks and entrees were all delicious! Our kids loved everything too, said it was the best tortilla they have had. Didn t have a chance to take a photo of their cheese dip but that was delicious as well. Kid-friendliness: They do offer kid size portions.

Go immediately for a wonderful meal and perfect service! We finally tried Familia after hearing about it on Taste of Irving and those reviews were spot on indeed. We were promptly greeted by the owners Son bearing homemade tortilla chips and a red traditional salsa and also a creamy Monterey green one. There are about 8 tables so it is small but decorated so cute and spotless. We both got Enchiladas (both chicken) with a queso sauce for me but the real star was my husbands with the homemade Mole. Outstanding! He is Mexican and the sauce was as authentic as his Moms. They are served with Mexican Rice and choice of beans (Charro for him and Black for me). The Son said his Mother & Father cook all the food themselves and I felt like we were transported to Mexico for lunch! Hands down the best authentic delicious food in DFW. Keith Lee missed out not reviewing and savoring this food. Deserves more than 5 stars. We cant wait to return and try more things. We were too full for the FLAN or peach cobbler. Next time.

Truly a hidden gem. Ordered chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. The homemade chips with green and red salsa is complimentary. This is the first time I had the salsa which is warm and its a perfect taste. The sauce on the enchilada is unique with perfect taste. Totally recommend.

Best Mexican food I ve had in years. Came based off of google reviews and it exceeded my expectations. Small dining room with a nice ambiance probably fits 30-40 people. Really nice for a family owned and operated restaurant, the son RV runs the front of the house while mom and dad make delicious food in the back of the house. We tried a lot of different things, great empanadas, queso, chicken pablano queso enchiladas, shrimp mojo de anjo something and I had a unbelievable skirt steak on top of an Anaheim chili stuffed with Monterey Jack cheese and covered with queso. This place is awesome, I put it in my rotation for Tex mex and drive past quite a few Tex mex places NW Dallas to get there. Don t miss this spot it s amazing.

Finally, a good tex mex restaurant in Irving. Something my husband and I have been looking for. They have a variety of options on their menu but on this day I wanted to try out Tacos AL Carbon for the first time and let me tell you I was impressed with my meal from the two tacos to the rice and beans. Usually, when I go to restaurants, I probably end up being satisfied with one or two items that are served on my plate, but at Familia Restaurante I was satisfied with it all. My husband never eats his mexican rice at most restaurants we go to, but he certainly finished it here. Oh, and they have homemade flour and corn tortillas , which is something I look for when we choose a tex mex restaurant. We definitely enjoyed the flavors of the dishes we chose that day. We will be going back to Familia Restaurante again and again for sure. Thank you, Familia Restaurante, for bringing your service to Irving, TX. We most definitely needed you. I would never have found this place, but I suppose thats what makes it a hidden gem! We were served chips and red and green salsa right away. They make their own tortillas for the chips as well as tacos. I had sopes, which were too hot, but once they cooked down were excellent. My wife and son had trompitos which were also amazing. Beyond the main courses, the rice and beans were simple but flavorful. Finally, this is a very cozy restaurant. My seat was comfortable, and theres only about 6-8 tables, so we were snug the whole time!

Where to start.... This place is amaizing, if you ever miss moms cooking this is the place to come to. Chips & sauce were great, sauce & chips come out warm like they just made it. If you grew up in a family-centered house or culture, you ll love and appreciate the nostalgic feel of Familia Restaurante. Most food on the menu has been amazing. My favorite dish is the Carne Rellanado. Friendly service, but occasionally slower than most. Restaurant dining area is small (approximately 8 tables), so not accommodating for large parties. No waiting area inside. When tables are full, patrons are directed to one bench outside. Wheelchair accessibility: Dining area is so small most likely a wheelchair would be difficult to maneuver.

This was a great choice for our girlfriends get together. We were seated right away; chips and salsa and water were immediately served. Our order for appetizers were shareable fishes tapatios y machete. Delicious! Our main entree were caldo de res, pollo en mole, chile relleno y pollo con calabacitas. Tortillas de maíz freshly made. All seasoned to perfect taste and beautiful presentation accompanied with rice and beans. We shared a peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream and the custard dessert (flan), great flavor. Every bite was savory and we were served generous portions. You will be satisfied! The ambiance is like being at home, with family enjoying good company and great conversation. Wow, a fantastic experience in this tiny little place! Service was quick and friendly. Portions were filling. Everything was very fresh, very high quality, and super tasty. Ive eaten at a lot of good Mexican restaurants, but this was so good, it shocked me. We had the steak fajitas and fish tacos, and we will definitely return to try more.

Outstanding Mexican food. We have had several different dishes and they have all been among the best that I have had. The guisos in particular are my favorite. The chips and salsa are as good as you will find anywhere. The queso blanco is the only thing that wasnt terrific. It mostly tasted like the pico that was on top of it.

Let s keep this between us girls since it s a small restaurant and we don t want it to get too crowded. This restaurant is owned by the former owner of 7 Salsas before it closed during the COVID shutdown. The service was great and the food was excellent! I had the pollo poblano and my bride had the pollo asada. Both dishes had so much flavor! The chicken was grilled so that it was tender and juicy. And the various rice and beans added even more fresh, unique flavors to the delicious meal. It s my new Mexican food jam!

The hype is real. Small family run excellent Mexican restaurant in Las Colinas. The menu is loaded with authentic dishes. This was our first time and we tried the Milo s Tacos which was 3 crispy tacos with chicken or beef. The chicken Is fantastic and the beef is really good. We also tried the Santa Fe Enchiladas. It comes with 2 so we had the beef and sour cream chicken. Both dishes come with rice and beans. Taste was delicious and very home made with love. The restaurant is small with only 3 booths and I think 4 tables so definitely go before 12 or after 3 just in case there is a wait and there should be, the food is truly delicious. A new hidden gem in las colinas. Next time we are trying the carne asada and poblano chicken which we ve read about on the line. Don t miss out on Familia.

Me and the wife loved this new restaurant. The food is GREAT, true Mexican, and really exquisite, mouth watering. Excellent presentation too. I had the Rellenado Der rez, stuffed poblano pepper, and rice and beans on the side. The beef was tender and well seasoned. The wife had the Carne asada, a huge steak, perfectly grilled. Great food. I have to say, this is by far one of the best dining experiences Ive ever had! The owners, Roberto & Elcia, are very warm and welcoming and really treat you like family. The establishment itself is very minimalist, clean and bright, but also has nice ambiance lighting. The food itself is absolutely phenomenal! The chips and salsa, which they brought out right away, were on point. The green salsa was my favorite as it was creamy but with an added tangy zing of lime , and the chips were crispy and warm. I had the Pollo en Mole (bone-in chicken in mole sauce), and my son had the Chile Relleno. The Mole was so, so delicious and was accompanied by hand-made corn tortillas fresh off the comal! The chicken was fall off the bone tender and the sauce...oh, the sauce. It was gloriously complex in the most harmonious way. Sweet and savory, with the subtle notes of cinnamon, clove, and chocolate dancing in the background. The rice and beans were great, too. I tried a bite of the Chile Relleno and it was also delicious!
