They were able to get me through my mediation but was not honest about their fees. Told me because there was a trial date already set that I need to pay their trial retainer, but said as long as we dont go to trial you should get some money back. So I agreed but in the end they just milk the billing so they could keep all $8k dollars that I had to give up front. Samantha talks a good game and will make you feel like they have your best intrest at heart but in the end they want to get as much from you as they can. On top of the money. They did not keep me well informed during the process, they are terrible about taking and returning calls. Shawn was over an hour late to my mediation which was already a hard day for me to have to deal with a firm that miss schedules their appointments. Not turning in documents on time or the proper ones causing delays. They will tell you in the end that they credited you the rest out of the kindness of their hearts in hopes that you will be gullible with no complaints. I personally would not use this firm again.

I came to this lawyer because i saw the coments but i regret ot they waisted my time and money. I came for my childrens issues i have the coustody and the father didnt wanted to give me my kids nd i payd the down payment nd i waited 2 months nd they wanted me to pay everything whem i havent even gone to court or saw results so i told them i wasemt gonna pay untill i saw results so i just went to another lawyer and i got my kids in 2 weeks and they charged half of the deposit i gave them. No respomse. Have tried phoning children many times and other party in contempt. Had to go to courthouse ourselfves to get copies of paperwork bc according to this firm they were not released yet. I am very pleased with Mr. Rudisels handing of my divorce. From the very first meeting, Shawn took the time to answer all my questions - no matter what, or when I asked them. He gave his honest opinion and best guesstimate on a timeline - which, despite my doubts, has proven to be spot on!! While the matter of divorce is in actuality a routine business for him, it is a very real, painful, highly emotional, and difficult fight for the client going through it. Shawn always had a genuine bedside manner (for lack of a better term) and never made me feel like just another case number. He always gave solid legal advise to calm my fears which were stirred up by OC, and broke things down so this non-attorney could understand how things operate. Shawn furthermore extended grace to me time after time as I learned how to navigate the SLOW road of divorce. When OC came at us with a fight, Shawn dug his heels in and took the fight to them! If you need a lawyer that isn t afraid of the courtroom - Shawn is your man! I nicknamed him Bull Dog - because in the courtroom, that is EXACTLY what he is! This man truly shines in the courtroom! Where I saw other lawyers argue with judges, shy away from cross examination questions, or just sloppy work......I saw Shawn direct his questions with pin point accuracy to get his point across. He knew how to communicate with the courts so he didn t ruffle feathers and end up on their bad side. Shawn had his direction set and he walked down that courtroom path with confidence (not arrogance) like I haven t seen in a long time. Met Shawn in the gym during a bad time in my life and just talking small talk i ended up with a good lawyer that helped me win over my kids and home and loose nothing but a headache!! Mr.Rudisel has to be the best attorney in Houston. My husband and I hired him for a child support n custody battle. Within 2 months everything was settled and he kept all his promises. His staff is awesome, his paralegal Angel always stayed on top of our case and would quickly inform us of anything. After hiring Mr.Rudisel I would recommend him to anyone who wants to stop all the games and actually get your case fixed correctly. Shawn knows the law well, did a great job, and has a presence in the courtroom. He is straightforward and funny, which during the difficult and sometimes confusing process of divorce were very helpful. My only complaint was that there were often extended delays in responses from him and his staff, but his ability to litigate effectively outweighs that.

Shawn and his staff handled my complex divorce with professionalism and integrity. My divorce/custody dispute required a jury trial and hours of preparation. It also required expertise lawyering skills, and both Shawn and his staff handled my divorce carefully and methodically. I chose Shawn after working with a different attorney on the temporary orders. The contrast between the two attorneys was stark. My first attorney bogged me down in the details; Shawn helped me see the overall picture. Shawn focused on being my attorney. Hed give me his advise, and then let me make my own decisions. He never once made me feel like he didnt have my case completely under control. He also made every effort to keep my costs low, and his team worked with me on a payment schedule. As I was in another state during the divorce process, I cant thank both Shawn and his staff for their ongoing communication. They let me know important milestones of my case, and what the next steps were. Angel was indispensable. She spent hours getting the more than 50 exhibits ready, and knew where to find things during the four days of litigation. Shawn is an amazing attorney and I probably would have left a 5 star rating if not for some of the staff in his office. Several times my calls and emails went unanswered by his paralegal. Its annoying to have to repeatedly ask the same question to get a reply regarding my case. If your a DAD and trying to get a court document drawn up for the RIGHTS or VISITATIONS to your kid then i suggest you get a REAL LAWYER!!!! Shawn drew the entire process out to get a bigger pay check and completely screwed over his own cliet, and in EVERY way possible has made it as hard as he can for a father to see his own son. My daughter is originally from another state & had been in Houston just a month when her first child was born. After a year, her marriage broke up & she wanted to come home to family & a job that was waiting for her. Her husband fought to keep their child in Houston so my daughters choices were to live there without any support whatsoever, (no family, friends, or job), live here but leave her child behind (wasnt happening) or find the best damn attorney in Houston to help us. Thats when I found Shawn & his staff. It was during the holidays & on a Friday that I left a message on his company website thinking Id hear back the following week. Shawn called me after court that day, around 6pm his time, & was on the phone with me for nearly two hours. He never rushed me & even gave his personal number if I had further questions. During the next few months, I spoke with Shawn on several occasions. Never did he mind that he hadnt been hired. He just wanted to help. When we finally did hire him, Shawn & his staff were above reproach in their professionalism, their demeanor toward us, their quick response to our calls, & their handling of our case. I work with lawyers & I know firsthand how distant they can be. I personally work for a litigation support firm and when it came down to my personal matter. Shawn is a real attorney with a passion to do his job and his staff is more professional than any other I have ever met. WOW !!! Divorce is a brutal experience, However Shawn s intense sincerity projects a genuine concern for each of his clients personal needs while protecting their best interest. Shawn listens to his clients needs, and protects his clients like a bullet proof vest. My original attorney creeped me out and I discontinued his service two days before temporary hearings. I was referred. to Shawn I called the day before my temporary orders. Shawn accepted my case that same night, and defended me in court the next day. AMAZING!! My opinion is based off my family case I hired the RUDISEL LAW FIRM to handle for me in 6/2012, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIRING THIS LAW FIRM. I was treated VERY disrespectfully from the ENTIRE firm. I was talked down to like a child, multiple times called princess while being screamed at to change my attitude. So on & so on. Different phone calls & instances this is how I was treated by the entire firm. I paid this firm thousands of dollars while they only worked off a 1/3 of what they were paid. This firm manipulated me, lied to me, basically stole my money while verbally confirmed that I will not be getting my $1500 back, (this was shouted at me on the phone). I didnt ask for their phone bill, but was charged $400 when I complained of their lack of communication w/me. This charge was justified as so, reflects times spent researching the phone records to validate the phone calls we made to you. I had to hire another attorney to finish what the Rudisel Law Firm wouldnt properly finish, keeping my money. The Rudisel Law Firm were the following to me: rude, manipulative, untruthful, unorganized, lacks communication, immature, mentally & verbally abusive, condescending and definitely unprofessional. Yes, legally they completed only a portion of my case. But I didnt hire them to rob me and treat me that horrible. The Rudisel Law Firm has killed my trust for lawyers. Is there an ethics committee or some form of repercussions that can be taken against people like this? This law firm might not treat all of their clients the way they did me, but I DID get treated with absolutely NO respect as their client who is paying for their bills.
