A friend of mine warned me about this place. When she visited the restaurant, they overcharged her card $200. I said to myself, let me give it a try because I ve never eaten there. Overall, the food was ok. The service was fairly poor. The waiter brought out our appetizers, but never our dish until I asked for it. When I was ready to check out, they were trying to charge me for an extra plate that I didn t even order. Not sure if I would go back.

On Sept 18, at about 11:30 am, I sat at a table next to the bar. The whole place was practically empty. The bartender was in conversation with another employee at the bar, and took his time getting water to my table. So Whatever, i wasnt dying of thirst. I ordered the Chicken Meatballs and they were big... and tasted bland like they were a frozen food that I could buy at Costco. They came with a dash of bbq sauce on the top to make it better. Ill not be eating that again. Then I ordered the Short Rib Chilaquiles with an egg... One word to describe this; nasty. Basically its a bunch of tortilla chips SMOTHERED in enchilada sauce with a sprinkle of shredded pork, about a 1/4 of an avocado, and an egg,(ordered with it). The sauce is definitely a major salt overload. If you dare to try this I would suggest to ask for the sauce on the side. Youll thank me later. I only ate about a 1/4 of it. My friend ordered a chop salad. It was just that, nothing special. The female bartender did make sure our drinks were always full so that was nice. I handed the bartender my C.Card and so did my friend at the table and we told him to split the bill. Well, hearing our request, Mr Preoccupied bartender walked off with 2 cards in his hand and only billed one of us for the whole amount. So I didnt cause a fuss and just took care of the bill. The owners dad, in a polo and shorts, and tennis shoes, did approach our table to check on us, so that was good. He was nice. The restaurant looks awesome and has tons of liquor everywhere on the wall and hanging from the ceiling. The bathrooms were nice for the most part. Dimmly lit and one bathroom was out of order. Glad they have several bathrooms. The food in the pictures on Google looks awesome but not ours. If we ever go back Id definitely try something different... Like that Donut Burger or the Sugar Barrel Steak.

I have been going to this restaurant for many years and I feel this past year it s gotten better, the food, drinks and service. I met the current GM, Adrian and he was very kind. The bartenders you can tell enjoy their job. Feng did a great job with the drinks at my last visit. I hope they keep this great team.

So you have to make a reservation for this place, which is easy to do on their website. We only had to do it a week in advance, so youre likely to get a table if you do that. We went on a Sunday at 1 pm for brunch, but had the option to order from the regular menu as well. We had the peach cobbler waffle, and the loaded waffle fries with short rib added. That waffle was to die for! Everything was delicious, and prepared quickly. The vibe was very cool as well. Highly recommend for a nice brunch on a Sunday! Well try their dinner at some point.

Definitely the place to always come back - here is why: Bosscat has excellent location with very nice setup which kinda reminds me to some industrial bars due to the colors and furniture. You need to start from big collection of good whiskeys along with very nice and authentic cocktails. There is a good time for starters: delicious pork belly, or flat breads or whatever, you can t make mistake. The main dish is meat oriented and if you go first time there, try pork sandwich or burger, but mix of flavors is amazing. Very well picked sauces with meat, fresh veggies and absolutely delicious hand-cut huge fries. No mistake dressing up nicely and hitting Bosscat on any occasion - plus, there is a private space which you can get for your party only. Servers are top-notch! Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian dishes available. Dietary restrictions: Very respectful towards your needs, like dairy and egg allergy. Parking: Bunch of spots for free parking while valet and garage available.

My friends and I visited Bosscat Kitchen and Libations for Houston Restaurant Week. Upon arrival, the hostess was warm and welcoming, and we were seated immediately. The ambiance of the place was impressive, with beautiful decor that set a great first impression. We were excited to try the special menu, but the experience was quickly dampened by our waiter, Collin. When my friend had questions about the drink menu, Collin seemed visibly annoyed and uninterested in helping. Despite his attitude, we ordered our drinks and continued with our meal. The food came out quickly, which was appreciated. I started with the chicken flatbread, which was delicious. For my main course, I had the skirt steak with potatoes and green beans. While the flavors were good, the skirt steak was served at room temperature, the green beans were cold, and only the mashed potatoes were hot. Dessert was the highlight of the meal for me a peach pie with ice cream that was simply delightful. Unfortunately, the service continued to decline. Collins sarcastic demeanor persisted throughout the meal, not only with our table but also with the table next to us, where the couple even asked us about his service. On a positive note, the restaurants ambiance, music, and decor were great, although the loud music might not be to everyones taste. The restrooms were well-decorated, but they became noticeably unclean as the night went on. Overall, while Bosscat Kitchen and Libations has a lot of potential with its beautiful setting and good food, the service, particularly from Collin, significantly impacted our experience. Parking: Valet seems free with tips only.

My girls and I made a large reservation for 7:30 it is now 9:30 and we have only eaten appetizers . (The spinach artichoke dip and the dirty rice egg rolls had zero flavor) I will never be back here and I will never recommend this place. We wanted to check it out for Houston Restaurant Week since none of us have been. The music is so loud, everyone is yelling to hear each other. When half of our party got their main course, it was cold. I went to speak to the manager and he was like well we are busy. This restaurant isn t that big, it s a Friday night with no wait. I m sure this is a typical crowd flow for them. Needless to say he wasn t accommodating or did anything to hurry our order. It s disheartening that this was my first experience because I love to support local places. But I will not be back. (As we left the manager gave us a $10 off card ) At least the music they played was great!

Dined on Aug 11, 2024 We enjoyed Restaurant Week. The special menu was delicious. I enjoyed the skirt steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. Yum! Also enjoyed the spinach/artichoke dip. My husband loved his choice of the pork loin and the chicken flatbread as his 1st course. Dessert was excellent. The restaurant has a very nice ambiance and found the restrooms were clean. It felt like we were forgotten for a while in the beginning. However, when we reminded him we didnt want to wait on water for the other guests at our table, the waiter appeared to remember that we were at the rear of the restaurant. Overall, we were pleased with our visit and hope to return soon.

Firstly, I ll say that I m not one to leave a review whether it s good or bad but this particular instance seemed it was review worthy. I really had high hopes for this place. I had a reservation for 2 made well over 25 hours prior. Time was for 11:30am. The restaurant was more than half way empty, with at least 6 tables that had a reserved sign on them. If you are reserving tables and taking reservations then why did we have to stand at the hostess stand for nearly 20 mins??? This seems absolutely ridiculous to me. Not sure we will be back unfortunate. I told the hostess to cancel the reservation . We left and went to the Audrey. It was absolutely OUTSTANDING! Food, service, ambiance, location all 110%! Definitely left them an EXCELLENT review!

Without a visit, it might be easy to think of Bosscat as primarily a bar, and it has a lively one and an impressive Whiskey Room to boot. But make no mistake: this is truly delicious food. Lots of variety, interesting twists on classics, specials and add-ons for variety. From lunch and brunch to dinner, dessert and drinks, Bosscat has it covered. Weekend brunch has been crazy-busy at times, but you can also catch the brunch menu on holidays like Memorial Day, etc. This could be your new favorite place!

Came for brunch on a Sunday. We made a reservation, so we were immediately seated. Our server was great, we just felt we had to wait an extended time for our food. The server was very apologetic and even admitted that the kitchen often gets bogged down with orders. My favorite part of the entire experience was the steak in the steak and eggs dish !!! It was seasoned to perfection and cooked perfectly. The eggs, potatoes, and the fruity pebbles French toast were unremarkable. If I came back, it would likely be for the steak and the vibes.

Ordered from here via Uber. I called ahead to check sides on sugar barrel steak as Uber has nothing but potato s as side descriptor. She didn t do any better with knowledge of the sides(whomever picked up the phone). Lacking information we still moved forward. We ordered the the steak and the short ribs, deep fried apple pie. The better half of me had the short ribs and enjoyed them but was looking forward to the listed scalloped potato s, and believes she just received mashed potatoes. I on the other hand ordered the sugar barrel steak, medium, no substitutions. What I received looks and tastes like a pork chop fried over vegetable oil/no mallard no flavor no salt no pepper- nada not even steak flavor, but honestly I ve had much better pork chops than this( steak )/vinegar and vegetable oil tasting thing)). I m not sure where their pictures are from but for 39$ I expected much better flavor and COOK. The steak was a bit rare for medium. Just not happy with my main at all. Apple cinnamon empanada was very good! so yeah, Added a star to my one star review.

Could not hold a conversation across the table. 1 on 1 with a date would be great as you have to get really close to hear each other.

They portions are better than others (real Texas size), and their drinks are where its at. The bartenders are knowledgeable of the whiskys and make amazing recommendations. This the place you think you found on IG and your like let me try this out. This is that place that delivers with every dish and drink. And the atmosphere gives really grown and sexy with this very nice rustic feel. It doesnt copy other places that just throw grass up on the walls. The details seem throughout and intentional. I dont know if I said it but Ill say it again their food is top notch and so are the drinks and its so much to choose from you gotta come back a few times to get all the taste and flavors cause the portions are on point, the flavor does its thing and them drinks are smooth but strong. Kid-friendliness: Mocktails look delicious no kids menu but they can share one entry or starter and be fine

He might be in a leadership position, because it appeared that he was training a young lady w orange hair. This is the 2nd time Ive been here and the menu offers things that are a bit different which is nice. My drinks were 5 out of 5 and food was 4 out of 5. The fruit & yogurt w honey was yummy, but the chicken fried steak was a little dry and was missing a little seasoning. Nothing major, was still good. I have been coming here for years and today was the first time that I had such a bad experience. Came in for lunch and the hostess name Heidi (at least I think that s her name- whoever that was working on Tuesday, March 26. 2024 at 3:30 pm) sat me at a table inside. They opened the garage door to the patio, therefore I requested to be moved politely. Heidi rolled her eyes and without responding, moved our drinking glass to the table I requested. Already annoyed by her initial response, I proceeded to thank her for accommodating my request to be sat near the patio. Again, she ignored me and walked off. I went up to her and confronted her that she did not need to roll her eyes and ignored me. The least she can do is acknowledge me thanking her. She got an attitude and said she was not ignoring me and walked off back to her podium at the front door and got back on her phone texting. If I didn t have a schedule lunch with a client, I would have left this establishment.

Went here with a group of former co-workers on a Friday night. Had about a 20 minute wait (not terrible). The DJ had the music too loud and could barely hear across the table. Had the cheese burger and mac-n-cheese. Both were good. Seemed a little pricey. Wait staff were good. We did have to drive around a little to find a parking spot because we didnt want to valet park.

From the moment we sat down he made sure we had everything we needed and truly made my experience so much better! Not to mention the food was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be coming back! Great service, mediocre food. Shoutout to EJ, who brighten up our morning with his mood! Service was great. The food took a bit too long to bring out (~30min) and the flavor did not convince me. Loco moco was completely bland, tasted like it was cooked without a single spice, including salt. Breakfast burrito was ok.

This was my first visit, and I must say, I would gladly return. The ambiance was superb, although a tad noisy, likely due to the bustling crowd. Fortunately, we had a reservation, so we didnt experience any wait, but the line seemed to be moving efficiently. The music selection was excellent, and the interior of the establishment was tastefully decorated. Valet service is available, and the building is wheelchair accessible. The restrooms were impressively stylish and impeccably clean. I opted for the peach cobbler waffles, which I highly recommend if you enjoy crispy waffles. The prices are also quite reasonable. Whether for a casual date or a quick stop with out-of-town guests, I would definitely revisit this establishment. Parking: They have valet available, a parking garage and parking lot parking. Wheelchair accessibility: The building is in the ground floor and wheelchair accessible.

Worst service ever. Walked in and sat at the bar at 1:15 on a Sunday. Ordered a beer at 1:20, and food at 1:25. At 2:00, still no food. Asked the bartender if he had an ETA. Was told it s coming out now. Waited 10 more minutes and food was still not out. So I asked for the check for the beer. Left without eating, and will NOT go back.

Went for Sunday brunch. $96 for 3 ppl (including 20% tip). Food was good. We had protein pancakes (chicken sausage patties on the side were meh), fruity pebbles French toast, and Benedict dish. We shared beignets. Everyone loved them. Waiter was good. But the DJ was blasting hip-hop at an ear-splitting, headache-inducing volume. We couldnt hear each other without yelling. It was jarring and non-stop at a level appropriate for a club on Saturday night. Everyone hated it...young and old alike. Not going back. Ever. I wish wed seen the many reviews that mention this before we decided to go. It was a relief to walk out of there into blessed silence. Parking: Free garage. Not too close but okay if its not raining.

The following time, I would go by myself. Although its not very family (kid) friendly, the beverages were delicious. While producing chips isnt their forte, they can get rid of the buffalo dip, shrimp and grits they sell, and redesign their house-made chips. Still, some of the food options were tasty. Great spot to hang out for breakfast with friends, and the balcony is cozy

Came here for brunch with a large group - 15 people. The music is too loud and the food is nothing special. My toast was cold and they provided no butter or jam. I had to ask for it ... twice. And maybe its just me but Id expect an establishment that serves brunch will also offer something other than black coffee with cheap cream. Im not sure if Id come back. It is at a great location and they have valet parking. So, thats a plus.

We noticed just about every table was reserved once we sat down. Super friendly staff. Very attentive (maybe almost, too attentive lol). They made sure everything was coming out great and that we were happy with our choices. Go during happy hour! I never see a Mule on the drink menu for HH but they have it. Went for brunch and had a great time. The food is filling and delicious. I and the breakfast burrito and the nuggets of fried pork in it gave a really great texture and salty kick to the burrito. Wife had an omelette she really enjoyed and we split a delicious avocado salad. Their cocktails were tasty and I especially enjoyed their Master of Ceremonies martini, even though it was a tad expensive. The only thing we didnt like was how loud it was.

Make sure and ask for a tour of the whisky room (if they dont offer you first). I enjoyed a flight off the menu, but next time, they will curate a flight to my preferences. IMO, the better atmosphere is in the back across from the wisky room.

Piss poor customer service. I entered the restaurant to pick up a to go order. They have a hostess podium. There was no one there. I waited for someone to greet me. There was a waitress that kept walking around. I know that she saw me. She looked my direction and continued to do other things. Then she goes to the bar and stands there still not coming to the front where I was waiting. A waiter at that time he ignored me a well, continuing what he was doing. I spoke out asking is there someone at the hostess podium? He then asked me the name on the order and went to the back looking for it. He came back to the front and looked around and told me to wait one moment. The same young lady who purposely ignored me, then came to the front and asked me the name on the order. She then turns to the back of the podium opens a cabinet and gives me the order. It had been there the whole time. Waiting for like 10 minutes for nothing. Very unprofessional

I sat at the bar and was delighted to have the best service provided by Dan and the bar staff. My food came out amazing and on time as well as the best whiskey and hand crafted cocktails. There was a house DJ on Saturday and he was outstanding! I could have stayed all night if I didn t fly out so early. I ll be sure to stop in again when I visit Houston! Sending love from Philly

Our server came back and picked up the check only to walk back to our table and look and say I m not worthy of a tip and I politely stated how do you know if we were going to leave a cash tip ( in which we was) or possible waiting to order dessert ( in which we were debating) overall performance was a 2 only because of the last action that was portrayed.

I was immediately drawn to the decor. Encapsulated by post industrial design, it felt like walking into the evolution of a whiskey cellar. Came here for Sunday brunch, and wow, this place is obviously impressionable. Tables were all taken, so make a reservation! Luckily there was still plentiful seating at the bar. No big deal, it was just a party of two. The brunch menu was thoughtfully created with wholesome creativity. There s something that will appeal to anyone. A judgment free menu. Finally, a truly top tier restaurant cares for the community and individuals. You know you re in good hands when an establishment is mindful of safety and discretion. In this case, proof is in the photo.

This is a mixed bag. My wife and I LOVE the food here! However, they closed the outdoors to receiving service, so you can t enjoy the beautiful scenery of the neighborhood and wonderful weather during the afternoon, or early evening when you want to eat. They also got rid of the healthy looking, beautiful hostesses they used to have, and replaced them with obese, non-flattering women. This would NEVER happen in any other restaurant in Houston, nor anywhere else, ESPECIALLY Manhattan, LA, or any country outside the US! No attractive servers, either. It kind of kills the experience, as looking at attractive servers and hostesses is part of the experience of quality restaurants. So, go here ONLY if you like quality food, but expect to be thrust into a bi-product of DEI ideology.
