This is the second Ive been this time was out of the ordinary. We sat down at 7pm our server was super nice the young lady working the Valet was super nice. We didnt get our main dish till 8:30. If you know you have Big party coming in bring in extra help. We were seated before several other couples and they were eating before us. Our server kept apologizing it wasnt her fault I blame poor management.

Placed an online order to go for two beef suya, without seasoning on it. Arrived to pick it up, portion size wayyyy smaller than what you would receive dining in, SEASONING ON MEAT!! Requested for it to be remade without seasoning and to receive correct portion. Waited over 15 minutes, only to receive same order with seasoning on meat and no additional meat. An order of beef Suya is $15 per order, paid $40+ for an incorrect order. I ve dinned in on multiple occasions, no longer will spend money at this establishment after this experience, highly disappointed and would not recommend to go or online orders. Picture of what I received to go versus dining in.

Went to Pangea excited since it s been awhile. While we received a warm greeting. Once we sat down the amount of gnats was a bit concerning. However, we ordered drinks scanned the menu (I only came for oxtails) Our waiter came and I ordered oxtails. Just to be informed oh sorry we don t have oxtails It would ve been nice for the waiter to inform up upon ordering drinks of what wasn t available. We walked out and I have no plans to return.

I went for my bday during brunch hours. I wouldnt eat here again. Very sub par. Two of my friends sent back their food, as did other patrons. The eggs for the Benedict were hard boiled, not poached. It wasnt an English muffin or even a biscuit, it was regular toast. The breakfast potatoes were trash, no seasoning or flavor. There was no salt or pepper available on the table and when we asked, we never got any. An old fashioned was $40. The chicken and waffles tasted off, extremely dry chicken tenders served with some sort of spicy jam. The pancakes tasted like I made them, which is not a good thing. Top it off, there were so many gnats! We kept swatting the entire meal. When I first sat down, there was only one but by the time we left, there were too many to count. I noticed other people swating and waving their hand over their food, too. The drinks were strong and our server was pleasant, tho.

It was our first time dining here. The food was severely underwhelming. I don t mind paying a pretty penny for food but this wasn t it. I paid $45 for cold lamb chops and $35 for crispy (barely) chicken. The stuffed salmon was salty and the shrimp spinach dip was disgusting. The sides (Mac n cheese & Brussels sprouts) were lukewarm. The only good thing on our plate was the corn bread. It took 30 minutes to get our bar drinks. Overall, I would not recommend. For a $265 tab, I feel like we got ripped off. I ve had MUCH better food for half the price, if not half the price. I promise you, you ll leave this place with a stomach ache and empty wallet. It s basically a fake boujie place with cafeteria food.

Went for brunch and wont be back. The music at 10:30 AM was so loud our table of 4 had to shout to hear each other. The mimosa came out 10 minutes before the coffee. I paid $15 for the kale Ceasar salad which was a very basic salad and had no meat. My friends were pleased with their orders though. The worst part of my experience was the womens restroom. The first stall was locked. The second stall was dirty, even though the restaurant had just opened. The third stall was the only option and I had to share it with a cockroach. If the restrooms have roaches, I know the kitchen does as well. Also, based on the grime around the toilet it hadnt been clean in some time.

I am writing to express my disappointment and dissatisfaction with the poor service my date and I experienced during our recent visit to Pangea Restaurant. Unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected, and I feel compelled to share the details of the evening. The issues began immediately upon entering the establishment. The waitress at the front was engrossed in her phone, scrolling through videos, and failed to acknowledge us, even after I said hello multiple times. It took about 30 to 45 seconds before she finally looked up and greeted us. This lack of professionalism set a negative tone from the start. After being seated, it took another 15 minutes for our waiter to arrive at our table. We ordered drinks and an appetizer, but what made the experience even worse was the presence of gnats flying around inside the restaurant. We were constantly swatting them away, which is far from the dining experience we had anticipated. When it came time to order our entrees, I requested the salmon, and my date chose a steak from the menu. After waiting for about 20 minutes, the waiter returned to inform us that they were out of the steak we had ordered. When we asked what other steak options were available, we were shocked to learn that there were none at all. My date, already frustrated, settled for mac and cheese, which was a disappointing replacement for a main course. This entire experience was embarrassing and frustrating, especially as I had hoped for an enjoyable evening. Instead, it turned into a complete disaster, and I left feeling let down and upset. Given the series of service failures, I cannot recommend Pangea Restaurant to others. I hope this feedback is taken seriously to improve the experience for future guests. I must add that I have visited this establishment before and really enjoyed it, but appears that the level of service has decreased greatly, which is unfortunate.

We had smothered chicken, fried chicken, smashed potatoes, green beans and Mac n cheese. This man can cook. As his attention to flavor detail is awesome. If someone can cook in bulk for catering they are damn good at the restaurant. Give this a try fam and you will not be disappointed!

ARE YOU SERIOUS? WHY DIDN T ANYONE TELL ME ABOUT THIS PLACE? This was our first time at Pangea, and I was really looking forward to it. The setup and atmosphere were fantastic! The restaurant had two covered outdoor seating areas with A/C, and despite it being around 100 degrees outside, the temperature in the seating area was comfortable. There was even a DJ upfront on the stage, which added to the good vibes when we walked in. I had read about Pangea online and always wanted to try it out, so I was excited when we finally got the chance. We were a party of 18 for brunch, and we arrived around 12:30 pm. Everything seemed to be going well at first, but that quickly changed. After being seated and ordering our food, we ended up waiting until 2:15 pm to actually receive it. I ordered a Dr. Pepper, but the waitress informed me that it was a knockoff brand, which I didn t mind too much, especially with the long wait. Turns out, all the sodas were knockoff brands, but the others who ordered sodas were okay with that. Now, here s where it gets tricky. Five people in our group ordered the Oxtail and Grits, but everyone was disappointed. For $34, they only received one oxtail with a big bone and very little meat, along with a lot of bell peppers. This was already upsetting after the long wait. I ordered the Hangover, but the manager came out and told me they ran out of some items for it, so I needed to choose something else. I asked for the Oxtail but was told they were out of that too, so I went with the Classic and requested my steak be cooked medium. The manager assured me that my food would come out with everyone else s and that it wouldn t take long since we had already waited so long. However, when the food finally came out, everyone got their meals except me. After waiting even longer and eventually asking the waitress about my food, she went to check and the manager finally brought out my plate long after everyone else had finished eating. I asked for a to-go container because at that point, I was just ready to leave. But when I looked at my steak, it was overcooked and looked fried on the outside. I told the manager to forget the to-go container because I didn t want it anymore. The manager offered to fix it and later brought me a supposedly correct order of the Classic in a to-go container and bag. After all the waiting, disappointment, and running out of the food I initially wanted, I said I would never come back to Pangea. I honestly don t know what went wrong or why it took so long, but it was a frustrating experience. The Classic comes with two eggs, a choice of breakfast meats (Ribeye +$25/ Salmon +$21), breakfast potatoes, sourdough toast, butter, and jelly. You can also substitute with a waffle (+$4) or pancakes (+$1). When I got home, I finally ate my steak, and I ll admit, it was cooked to my liking medium, well-seasoned, tender, and good. My wife joked that I looked happy now, and yes, I was pleased with the food but still very unsatisfied with the overall experience. To be fair, this could ve been a bad day for the restaurant. They did take 50% off everyones ticket, and my meal was free, which I appreciate. I hope they can improve and correct these issues. The Classic with medium-cooked steak is something I would recommend, but I m still unsure if I ll ever go back to Pangea.

I visted Pangea for the upteenth time! This time I was celebrating my birthday and I made reservations for 9 for 730pm August 10th. We were seated on time which we all placed our appetizer and drink order by 810 pm and ordered out entrees by 830pm. We didnt recieve the appetizers until 920pm and told by the waiter Melody that the kitchen was behind and we were looking at 45 mins to hour to get our food(1015pm-1030pm). WE already been there this long so we waited it out. We asked to speak with the floor manager who was very dismissive of our concerns. The food finally came at 1020pm. The person giving the food was VERY VERY VERY AND I REPEAT VERY RUDE. He pretty much was in a rush and didnt care who ordered what just threw it down on the table. OK, our crab cakes, shelllss shellls shelllssss shellllsss shelllsss!! All through the crab cakes!! the more we tried to stomach this experience with each bite was shells. The mac n cheese was extermely soupy . Our seafood rolls had shrimp and cheese. when the description gave a totally different description. Our stuffed salmon, SHELLS!, our greens, smh had a indescribable taste. I asked for medium well lamb chops crusted, there were no crust on top and hella PINK!! no sauce no nothing! Again calling the floor manager over to the table was a hassle and he decided to try to rectify the situation with 7 dollars off , 3 dollars here, NO i wanted to EAT! I wanted to enjoy my birthday. I literally prepared all day to come and spend time at a Black Owned place just to be let down. The Fact that he acknowledged and i Quote im sorry i know its your birthday, the kitchen dropped the ball we have alot of parties, and the kitchen was just trying to get the food out SOOO you knew this wasnt right! and you AGAIN DID NOTHING !! so to answer your question, no we did NOT eat. We literally came and sat 3.5hours while they played in our faces. I have never encountered this with Pangea and I am hella disappointed , this def ruined my birthday.

The waitress was nice, but the service was terrible, they only compensated my order for the meat omelette, which I asked for them to box up because I had ate off my friend and daughters plate. I will never go back. She followed us out To advise us he didn t comp Our complete meal as he stated or we thought he did !! he only complemented my meat lovers omelette, which I didn t receive until it was time for us to go. The waitress followed us to let us know this we bought the Manager. He offered us a complementary dinner for the time we waited and the inconsistencies with my order, but they didn t, good luck if you go there

The live music was great! However it took 10 mins for our server to arrive. When the young lady arrived at our table she didn t introduce herself and became sassy when I changed my mind on the drink I ordered. I originally laughed off the behavior. But when we finally were able to order our food, 50 mins had passed and we still only had drinks. No update was given from the server and we actually had the hostess hunt the manager down because we wanted to cancel our food and leave. Overall it s a beautiful restaurant. I ve been there before when it was wayy more busy and I had great experience both times. I m not sure if it was just the server but they can definitely do better. I wish I received my food because I know it to taste delicious! They didn t even have the decency to comp our 3 drinks for the insane wait and bad service. We ordered ALOT of food for 3 people too. With the intent to order more drinks. I feel if the server was more attentive and checked on us, the experience would ve been better and more worth the wait. I m not sure if I ll be returning.

My family likes to start eating all at once but we didn t get that luxury. Not that big of a deal though, the food was worth the wait. We were seated immediately, but we did have a 5 pm reservation. I did take one star off of atmosphere because there were a few large nats circling our table during our meal. We ordered crab cakes to start. My husband said it was the best crab cake hed ever had, but they were small for the price point. He ordered the Have Merci and it was exquisite. I ordered the stuffed salmon and absolutely loved it. My partner did, too, and he doesnt even like fish. We finished off with the sticky toffee cake and WOW. It was perfect. Everything we had was so well balanced. Nothing felt TOO anything. It was all perfectly seasoned and left us feeling satisfied. We will definitely be back!!

Only good thing here was the cornbread .and check out the gratuity charge .oh and we paid all this with no drinks .and I normally tip all my servers but server was inattentive .never checked on us or nun .maybe if the food was good it wouldn t be as bad .but everything was nasty .like there was nothing to brag on .Place is overhyped and a total rip off .First and last time going!!

I ve enjoyed the fabulous food at Pangea for the last two years. I remember my first visit how blown away I was at the decor, the lighting, the bathrooms! Just a beautiful place and such a vibe. A few disappointing comments after my visit today. Turn the music down a hair and play clean versions of rap if you insist on playing it. You stress on your website to beware if you bring kids, but please know that not all adult want to hear it either. Lastly, please repair your booths. It s much too nice of a restaurant and too pricey of a restaurant to have booths with the leather peeling! Please do better. I ve always considered you somewhat upscale. Please don t become regular. Wishing you well. Your food is fantastic.

Shrimp appetizer was flavorful but overcooked and rubbery. Rest of our food was bland. I had the redfish with green beans side. Menu said green beans were cooked with garlic and shallots but they had no taste even though I asked the server to go heavy on the garlic. And they were greasy. Fish was dry and overcooked. My colleague ordered the filet cooked medium but it came very well done. Sent it back and the next one came back just as well done. The mac and cheese was dry and not creamy at all like a decent mac and cheese should be.

I recently visited Pangea Restaurant & Bar in Garland, TX for brunch, and it was a delightful experience! I ordered the Ultimate Avocado Toast (minus the cheese) and the Veggie Flat, and both dishes were fantastic. The avocado toast was perfectly seasoned and fresh, while the Veggie Flat was a flavorful and satisfying choice. The decor of Pangea Restaurant & Bar adds to the overall experience with its inviting and contemporary vibe. We chose to sit on the patio, which was a great decision. The outdoor seating was comfortable and provided a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy our meal. The music was another highlight, enhancing the relaxed yet lively ambiance. The service was also exceptional, with attentive and friendly staff who made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, Pangea Restaurant & Bar offers a wonderful brunch experience with delicious food, a stylish setting, and excellent service. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great spot to enjoy a meal in Garland. My Overall Meal was a 10/10. Overall Experience 10/10. My recommendations is Goooooo!!! First time here. Overall, this was an enjoyable experience. First and foremost, the service was really good. Our server was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was inviting; however, the music was a bit loud especially when trying to have a conversation. I had myself a Mexican coke which you can never go wrong with and my wife had a mango lemonade which she sent back because it didnt have that homemade flavor that you would expect from a 4 dollar lemon aid. We didnt get a picture of the apps because we were pretty hungry and dove right in. We git the suya and the creole role. The Chicken suya was very flavorful. It had a really nice spice and the fresh cut vegetables gave it some additional flavor and texture. The creole roll was stuffed with rice, shrimp, and crawfish. Also very flavorful and it had a nice spice. My main dish was the have merci chicken, which was advertised as beating one of the culinary Gods, Bobby Flay. It was a pretty good dish, the tomato sauce was intense and flavorful. You can taste the red wine and vegetables. The chicken breast itself was a little tough. The dish kind of lost me with the decision to serve it with mashed potatoes. The potatoes themselves were lacking in flavor and cold. They actually took away from the dish as a whole. They muted the beautiful flavor of the tomato and red wine sauce My wife had the stuffed salmon and saffron rice. The salmon was beautifully cooked and the filling was spinage, shrimp, crab, and cream cheese. Overall, it was good. The salmon itself could have used some more salt and pepper and the rice was a little mushy. The best thing that we ate was the not your mommas greens. That was just packed with flavor. It had everything that you would want in greens. I would highly recommend trying that. Overall, I would recommend comming. The food was tasty although there was some slight issues with the preparation. I think you will have a pretty decent experience. I would come in with the expectation that your going to get some tasty food but probably nothing mind blowing.

Pangea dropped the ball to start we were seated at a table the wobbled so much you couldn t possibly enjoy a meal due to the constant state of irritation. The waitress was nice but wasn t there at all. My appetizer tasted as if it had a ton of salt in it. Then my entree which was supposed to be blackened catfish was so tough was tussling harder than I would with a well done steak. I ve dined there many times and often recommend it. This time it was below subpar. I sent back every item and I m the furthest from a picky eater I eat everything that looks appealing and taste appetizing. I hope the difference is timing this would be the first time I ve attended prior to 7pm. Even with the mediocre service and bad food I still tipped an additional outside of the included gratitude. After leaving I immediately had the worse stomach cramps ever no exaggerations. The drinks were good per usual hence the 2 stars PLEASE DO BETTER

My fiancé and I went to Pangea for the first time 5/24/2024. The place is very appealing when you first enter, however, if you dont have reservations, you get placed in the no reservation section which is far less appealing! We ordered crab & shrimp dip and the creole rolls to start. The creole rolls were very tasty and different. I like what they did with the traditional eggroll by adding non-traditional ingredients and seasonings. The crab and shrimp dip was ok. I ordered the tuscan pasta with shrimp. It was a little heavy on the salt for my taste and I grew up around lots of seasoning in the food and on the food. My fiancé had the same dish but with chicken. I asked her what she would rate her meal and she said 5 or 6. I have to agree. The meal done, the bill comes, and it has a surcharge on it. I paid with a debit card so the surcharge shouldnt have been charged. I explained this to Carlos H. who was our server, and he wasnt sure and got the Manager as he shouldve. The manager comes over and I explained to him, that I see the sign says all credit card transactions will be charged 3.9%. No problem, Im paying with a DEBIT card and advised its illegal to charge a surcharge for debit card transactions. The charge was $4.03. You would think he would just remove it, especially since I pulled my phone out and showed him, its an illegal practice to charge a surcharge on a debit card transaction. He gave me a lame story about some banks allow it and how the credit card processor was the one charging the fee, not the restaurant. Since I work with credit cards, I explained the processor is charging the business, the business is trying to pass that charge on to the consumer, which is fine, just not on debit cards. He refused to do anything about it, I paid it, filed a claim with my bank and with the AG. Oh, we also purchased 4 pictures for $80 plus tax and surcharge (on a debit card) since they take pictures while youre there. It never shouldve gotten to this point, but rather than resolve this issue in-house, the manager chose to stick to his guns to keep $7 charged illegally on a debit card transaction. Unfortunately, civilly, they can now be held responsible for every transaction this has occurred and each affected person can receive up to $500 per transaction. Hopefully next they do the right thing from the beginning!!!

At first they were going to sit us outside but when we requested if we could sit inside because too hot and the DJ was inside they had no problem moving us inside. The food was amazing, and the service was great. Drinks were good. Especially the Ape s#it. Ordered the flight of mimosas, and it was cute. However, the way it is displayed took up a lot of space on the table. I have been to a lot of places with mimosa flights, and the way they decided to serve well, lets just say..... it was an interesting choice to display the glasses. Its too big and a bit tricky to get the next glass. The food was so dang delicious and our waitress was very attentive. We will for sure be back!

Visited 05/11/2024. Do not recommend. The food looks good but doesn t taste good. The chicken was so dry and cold in the crab and chicken pasta. We all had chicken on our plates and it was all dry. The few pieces of crab they give you was good. We were in shock the waiter literally ignored our request for water 5 times. We needed the water because the food took forever so we was munching on the cornbread which was the only decent thing imo. The waiter was very inattentive we had to flag down other staff to get our waiter ALL five times we wanted the water. To the point, we had flag down what appeared to be a manager because he was dressed differently. And even then it took them a minute to bring the water the waiter gave a sorry excuse no clean pitchers for 20 mins even tho we ve been asking since the cornbread was brought out 40minutes ago. We also made a proposition so that they wouldn t totally lose out on money or waste food which was comp our food 50% because we were already on a tight timeline so we didn t want it remade. It was a no so we just paid for our drinks and left. The music selection was trash.

Okay, so I waited a while before making this review. Im Canadian and first learned about Pangea while scrolling through Tiktok. I decided that I wanted to do something different for my birthday - so - I invited my family to take the trip with me to this restaurant out in North Dallas. I have been doing my best to support more black owned businesses in 2024 but I have to say: right off the bat I was rather disappointed. We made a reservation on line and when we arrived and gave a young lady our name (description: African American, natural hair/afro textured). She looked irritated upon entry. She brought us to our seat to a covered patio/ Solarium in the back and placed out menus on a sticky wooden table. My wife asked if we could have another table that was more clean. The woman said nothing, rolled her eyes, angrily picked up the menus and placed them on the equally sticky table right next to the original table and stormed off. Honestly, at that time I wanted to leave! Just go! Anywhere... to IHOP, Waffle House, McDonalds.. anywhere. The effort that was made to get out to that restaurant with poor parking and a mean looking hostess was rather upsetting. The only positive note I can give on the Hostess is that she was very consistent because; when she sat the people that came in after us she was equally as rude from my observation. The waitress was just okay. She didnt say much. I told her it was my birthday. There was no Happy Birthday. Towards the end of the meal she brought out a cold (almost frozen) chocolate muffin with whipped cream on it and a sparkler, placed it on the table and walked away. STILL NO HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Didnt see her again until she asked us if we were paying by cash or card. I made sure I was kind and courteous the entire visit. Im always kind with restaurant staff. With all due respect I will never go here again or recommend it to anyone. Im HUGE on customer service. Food was 5/10 Service 3/10 They made sure that bill was right tho. They didnt mess that up.

However I had the crab cakes and it was very dry. And I also had the bayou cat. It tasted like I was eating catfish straight from the sea and it was over cooked. The dirty rice gave more like a Spanish rice. I m going to come back and give it another try but only bc the lemon drops were the best I ve ever tasted and I m a bartender myself.

I have been wanting to try this place for months so when my mom came in from out of town, I decided to take her. Big mistake! We first pulled up to the complementary valet service that they provided. It took us about four minutes before the gentleman came out of his car to assist us. When we first walked in I addressed The hostess, because her head was down for about one minute while she was on her cell phone. Our waiter was a very nice gentleman, and I have no complaints when it comes to the service that he provided. The crab and spinach dip that we received was extremely salty and did not have enough bread to go with the dip. The beef patties were very scarce on the meat, but the flavor was good. When we received our entrées, my chicken had visible burn marks was and extremely overcooked and dry. My mother ordered the lamb, and it was also overcooked with no seasoning. We ordered the mac & cheese and greens as a side. Unfortunately, neither one of us were a fan of either. We ordered lemon drops to drink and they were good. However, they would ve been better had the glass been chilled. A couple hours later when we returned home Both of our stomachs hit a beatbox. I really wanted to love this restaurant, and I do believe that they have potential. I would say, maybe a change in management and enforcing a no cell phone policy would have a huge impact. I also thought it was slightly rude to be approached about taking a photo while trying to enjoy my meal. I spent over $200 on a meal we didn t enjoy that put us on the toilet.

I ordered Sunday dinner from here to pick up on yesterday based on the catering we received at my job. The food at my job was really good , however the food I order on yesterday not so much. Also, overpriced based on what was received. I order catfish baskets that contained little nuggets of fish and not many for almost $20. The crab and seafood pasta on contained about 3 little crab pieces for almost $40 and definitely not as flavorful and food served from the catering. The greens definitely were different than the ones served at the event, they had a strange flavor for $10 per serving . The best thing was the cornbread and 1 of our containers of cornbread was missing in the bag, I m glad I checked because that would have been another $10 wasted. They tried to pack all of our food in a tiny to go bag, I had to ask for a larger bag so the food would not bust through the bag.

This review is only from my experience. Drove nearly hour n half to this place for birthday dinner. Was not worth it in my opinion. I was happy they had our reservation in the system. Then it was nearly 30 min for first drink to come. Another 15 min or so for my drink. Waitress said they ran out of clean glasses. Sign by door said max occupancy 256. It looked about 80-90 ppl inside. Ran out of glasses??? Then it took about 40 min or so to get our food. Food was hot at least. I ordered blackened catfish. Wasnt impressed. However, I dont think quality of the food is the goal. This is one of those places for food art. All the fancy trimmings and sauce. They a good drink menu. Leaving, I had issue with how valet crammed cars so tight that I was partially blocked in. I had to maneuver getting out of my spot and before I could get out, valet nearly hit me trying to back up into the spot I was leaving. Couldnt give me time to around 3 closely parked cars. Its nice they have a picture taking crew that make pictures for like $25 a pic and they put them in frames for you. Wish they would take the pics when you dont have empty plates and drinks. It is what it is. Not a place I would recommend anyone to.

Waited over an hour for a brownie, and I ver an hour for the main meal also, both ordered at the same time. Sunday brunch over an hour for an omelette. The owner apologized, was very courteous but the staff lacked on manners. Setting the expectation that there is a delay up front would be a good, proactive approach. I had other plans & ordered something quick. Still took forever, and with 20% gratuity automatically added even for 1 person I see why they re not messed up with how long your food takes because they re getting their 20% regardless. Great food but please accept this as constructive and do better.

The atmosphere/vibe of the restaurant is confusing with the ambiance for fine dining/jazz lounge, but the extremely loud music and more casual dress by some gave day party vibes. I dont think they were tracking our reservation, which led us to sitting at a table with no service for a while. Once we did have a server, our food and appetizers came out all at once. They seemed to be either short staffed or couldnt keep up with the demand of the crowd. The waitress did rectify the waiting issue with complimentary drinks, and overall, the food was good

My husband I stopped in just for a quick cocktail and and small bite at the bar. Cocktail was good, not superb, but good. The Shrimp Flatbread was delicious and the bar service was rather slow. We dine here quite often and its a close go to for good food and RnB vibes.

I recently dined at Pangea Restaurant for my birthday and while the food was satisfactory, I was quite disappointed with the overall experience due to the excessively long wait times. Despite the restaurant not being crowded, the wait to receive our appetizers, main course, and even the bill was incredibly slow. This made the dining experience less enjoyable, as I couldn t understand the reason for such delays when the restaurant wasn t busy. Overall, the food was fine, but the wait time for service needs immediate improvement. When I left, I was frustrated about my birthday dinner. Started at 7:30 pm and left at 11 pm. It was not because we wanted to stay that long.

Where do I begin? We drove two hours to visit the black owned restaurant called Pangea today in Garland Texas. The owner was rude, arrogant, and only communicated with all the white people at the bar. He also tried to pass pot roast off as brisket. The food was not good at all, no season, no love put into it at. Bathroom was dirty, waitress took forever to come with our drinks, she also didn t check on us very often. Whole experience was awful!!!

unfortunately, my experience was incredibly disappointing due to the poor customer service provided by the owner. From the moment I walked in, it was evident that hospitality was not a priority at this establishment.I had trouble locating the entrance and he just said that way.He sat and ate while we sat at the table and never asked again how the day was. When we tried to ask questions the owner responded with impatience and seemed bothered by our inquiries. It felt as though we were inconveniencing them by simply being there. To make matters worse, the food itself was subpar and overpriced, further adding to the overall negative experience. Its truly a shame that such lackluster service overshadowed what could have been a pleasant dining experience. I ordered the same drink flight that someone in my party ordered and yet mine did not come with any of the things that her drinks came with. Sad

Came here this morning... overly staffed yet not enough staff. First people to arrive here. Took 40 minutes for brunch items that dont take long to cook at all. Got brulee French toast was burnt and wasnt really anything special just your basic French toast for 18 bucks. Got coffee yet no creamer... server just kept touching her hair as she served food and etc. Used a towel off of the floor to give us our food. Then we were done eating and server is MIA.. Just to find her sitting talking with other employees like its gossip hour.. bathrooms need to be cleaned and baby station. DEAD BUGS on the station and looks like they havent sweeped in weeks or mopped in the bathroom. Had a awful odor as well.

Too slow!! Visited Sunday for a birthday dinner, was seated shortly after 4, order was taken well after 5, and we got our food well after 6. Ive been here several times and the service is always slow. The food is ok but overpriced in my opinion. The drinks are good.

The service was not good at all. They had us waiting for over 30 mins before any waiter came to the table. The lamb chops gave me food poisoning a day later & the macaroni and cheese was TOO GREASY! I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN.

The food is top shelf! We had the coq au vin and the stuffed salmon and 5 star all the way. Good music but it was a little loud with club style bass (maybe I m just getting old lol). Service was great however we received apps 10 minutes after main course arrived. All in all if you want good food I highly recommend and at the end of the day that s what you re there for! Parking: Valet is free but don t go cheap, tip your valet!

I have to be completely honest and I really hate to pose a review like this about a bob but this place is OVER hyped and OVER priced. I dont mind paying for good food and an experience but this was NOT it. Unfortunately, this was not what I expected based on the other reviews. Let me say the things I liked: - nice decor and ambiance - friendly and professional staff - clean atmosphere -nice r&b vibes -clean, modern look Now the things that should be considered:. - that door that slams is obnoxious and takes away from what youd expect at such a cute spot - the bathroom door as well - the food was over subpar (not disgusting but definitely not worth the price) - the seafood dishes such as the dip was missing the seafood. It had to be like shredded crab and at most 2 Shrimp that were chopped up because we barely had any of either in our dip. It was good though and that was the highlight of the dining experience - the chicken and crab pasta as a poor execution with waaaaay too much lemon juice and I wish Id taken pictures because all of the oil was floating to the top and not well blended at all. All you could taste was lemon and the chicken was bland -the salmon was not bad but at the same time, overcooked -the Mac n cheese noodles were over cooked and over all, underwhelming There are other places that you could go for this price point for better food but I cant recommend this.

We absolutely loved 3 out of 4 dishes - the Brussel sprouts, Jamaican beef patties, and coq au vin were all so so good. The cornbread was odd...it tasted like crab or fish and had a weird texture. Sprouts were a little small for $10. Service was solid to start but did become non-existant once the food arrived. The lights were so bright for dinner time, otherwise the restaurant is gorgeous! The patios look amazing (next time! It was raining when we visited) overall, we will be back, and Ill be dreaming of the patties until then!

This restaurant does have a lot of potential, but as of recently, the quality of service and food has been extremely low. My wife and I enjoyed eating at disestablishment sometimes up to two times per week and it never disappointed. But as a recently around December and forward :the food has been not consistent to previous standards And the service has been horrendous.

The food and photos speak for themselves. Youre treating yourself by going here. The sooner the better! Parking: Youll be hard pressed to find parking at the place. However road side parking is all over the place. You just gotta find it.

Went on the wine down Wednesday and the atmosphere was amazing. Had a great live musician. Parking: It was busy when I was there due to their Wednesday evening events. So that made parking a little hairier.

Though the price is high the food was amazing. But you need a reservation! I had the shrimp and grits and it was the best I ve ever had. The only thing I d say is my salad was a little too drenched in dressing. But that could be an oversight. The service was impeccable. We didn t have a reservation and they were booked all night (good sign). They made sure to inform us there would be a bit of a wait for the food since they were so busy. It was quite a bit but the server came out and checked on us periodically so we were fine. I wish I could have experienced the atmosphere but since we had no reservation we were outside in the enclosed area. Even though we were the only white people there, we felt welcomed. That was great.

I would drive from anywhere just to enjoy the music and the drinks with the right company. To be honest, there are a few things that could have been better, but those are more management related issues. Under good management, this place could be exceptional . Its a lot more relaxed/casual than I expected. I felt a bit over dressed. I cant complain, but I cant rave either. Ill just have to try it again.

Weve been to Pangea several times with no issues but unfortunately this time the service was not that great. It took almost an hour for our food to come out and our server, Bryson H. would only come check on us every 25 minutes. We had to ask him when our food was coming out because we were almost about to leave and he forgot to bring my husband out his Topo Chico. Also the women restroom had not toilet paper and I and another lady had to use paper towels. As for the food, it was good.
