Order brisket, pulled pork, and sausage botana for 2 , portions were ok , asked for moist brisket, got super lean almost dry meat, kinda looked reheated , pulled pork ok , sausage very thin sliced, told waitress about dry brisket, took botana plate , brought it back saying the cook said something having to do with the fact that it was a botana Nimodo, flies were all around the food, having to swoosh the away constantly, definitely not a good experience, first time there ; Coming Back , Uhh No ! Parking: Plenty of parking, only 3 vehicles, can understand why !

Mac and cheese was more soupy then cheesy tasted horrible, pork was bland no flavor, brisket had bunch of fat , not even the chips and salsa were decent. More of a fast food bbq place, GW is where it s at. Don t waste your money here, left more then half our food

The brisket burger was very good. The music is good because they play 70 s music rather than the Mexican cantina music that is in every restaurant in the valley. The main food theme is BBQ but they do have Mexican food options. My mom got the fideo and she said it was excellent.

Food and service are excellent at this location! They offer dine in and take out and it doesnt matter which option you choose its always good. If you do dine in they bring chips and salsa to the table. Chips are warm and the salsa has the tiniest hint of smoke and tons of flavor. My go to are the brisket enchiladas. The burgers are good and they have some of the crispiest fries in town! The other sides are just a good especially the potato salad. The waitresses weve had have been friendly and welcoming. Kid-friendliness: They have a small kids menu but the portions are generous and theres high chairs if you need one.

Been their many many times food is good but this time we had a special ingredient in the rice and beans we call it a fly but that wasnt on the menu once we saw the waitress take the delicacy back I guess she showed it to the manager and that was the last time we saw him I guess he had better things to do then to atleast say sorry were changing our menu and please you cant say it fell In the food when we had it because Isaw her take a bit and when she was going to take another bit thats when she showed it to me I dont blame the server as much as I blame her supervisors and cooks since they should have had the decency to say something like were sorry about that but its OK wont be the last time something like this happens. Well atleast they didnt charge me for that but they did charge the tea good deal. The only thing I regret is I didnt take a pic to show what it looked like.

Went to Aces for lunch today, specifically to get their fish taco plate. Waitress took our order and then 10-15 minutes later stopped by to say that the plate would be incomplete due to a missing item and if we wanted to have a free side. Took them up on their offer only to be given an extremely poor excuse for a fish taco plate which consisted of 3 semi-warm corn tortillas with 2 small fish stick resembling pieces per taco. The sauce, instead of being drizzled on the tacos was instead placed on the side in a cup. We did let the waitress know that these were not the same tacos wed had previously on numerous occasions. The waitress said shed speak to the cooks and promptly came back to say that was the normal portion size and how they always look. Very disappointing. Did not ask for a discount, but would have been nice to have been offered an apology at least after we voiced our concern. $13.99/plate for a single side and kid-sized fish tacos was not what we had in mind for lunch. Will not return. We even asked for their usual chips & salsa, but they were out and failed to let us know until after we asked. In hindsight, their offer for a free side came right before they brought us the plate, meaning they should have known before even preparing the meal, that they were missing an ingredient. They should have just let us know they couldnt make that particular meal and offered apologies. I would have just ordered something different instead.

Brisket Burger was really good, really liked that. Their BBQ sauce was pretty dope, liked that. Fries were a bit underwhelming, I wasnt a fan of the seasoning and I wish they were more crispy but I still ate the lads. I also wish it didnt randomly come with vegetables on the side, I felt kinda bad about not touching them so I wish it was an optional thing. Overall I thought it was a standard experience, not bad overall. If I ever go again, Ill check out another menu item to see what theyre about.

Good BBQ with a great variety available. Large serving sizes, so I had to share my plate. The meats were flavorful and juicy. The BBQ sauce had a pepper/spice flavor, but it was savory. My daughter approves the classic cheeseburger! I overheard a manager/owner tell another customer they could get a free alcoholic beverage, but that was not offered to my group (I m not sure if this is usual). Overall, we would return when in the mood for good BBQ.

Like to say last month my husband, my sister, my brother-in- law, my aunt, and myself included went to Aces BBQ in Edinburg. We had never ever been there before except my aunt. She picked that restaurant for our monthly luncheon which we have once a month at 1:30pm. When we went to place our orders the waitress informed us that what each one of us wanted they did not have. In other words no chicken, no baked potatoes, no corn, no brisket, etc. We were forced to order stuff we did not want to eat. It is lunch time how can you be out of everything? Very disappointing. My sister and my aunt were not served for two hours. My brother-in-laws catfish was raw. Had to send back. My husband and I settled for burgers. Burgers at a BBQ place! I could have gone to Whatabuger! One of the female employees was rude to my husband. He went to ask for a refill at the counter and she told him, you have to ask your waitress, I am not your waitress. We left very dissatisfied, my sister and aunt were very angry because it took them hours to be served. My husband called to complain to the owner, Mr Joe Aguilar, who said they had been very busy, made all these excuses as to why service was bad that day. Asked to give him a second chance so he could make things right. Stated he would not charge us and he would take real good care of us. My husband call Mr. Aguilar Yesterday to let him know we would be coming today. The same persons who had, had a horrific experience at Aces last month. He told my husband he would let his manager know we were coming in today. When we got there today she had no idea who we were. We asked for him, he came over to our table, and was very quick to inform us that they were out of half chickens and that he only had two chicken leg quarters. The chicken was cold, potatoes salad was lousey. The waitress/manager charged each one of us for our meals. We all looked at each other, and my sister made the comment so much for our free meal! Waitress goes, what did you have an agreement with Mr. Aguilar? We said, yes. She went to talk to him came back and told us it was only gonna be 20% discount. No way did he make up for our disappointment. I will tell you, we will not ever give him our business again. RUDYS and BAR-B-CUTIES will continue to get our business. There are real problems with managing your restaurant and having enough food for your customers. Maybe you need to go back to How To Run A Business/Restaurant 101.

It truly is not worth the time or amount of money each ticket costs. ***in response, I did not phone ahead I waited patently. I even added a full order to my 1 ticket I purchased for $10. Its is also not the 1st time I purchase a fundraiser ticket. The food itself that I ordered today aside from the ticket was not good at all. Most of the sliced brisket was fat and not meat. The issue is that everything that I asked for I was told you all did not have in a rude way.

Open @ 11am, on a quick trip through Edinburgh was looking for something BBQ. Aces fit the bill. Ordered the Philly Brisket sandwich and a side of Slaw. I always order slaw w/BBQ. When I was handed the takeout box, it was HEAVY. I thought it was too much, ....well I finished it. The sandwich was huge. Filled with brisket, sautéed onions and fresh Jalepeno slices. The BBQ sauce was tangy and a good compliment to the sandwich. The only thing I would change would be to use fresh grated cheese, rather than processed nacho style cheese topping. A good Chihuahua style or even Mozzerella would step this sandwich up a notch. Parking: Lots of parking Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to sidewalk

I found table and they brought me chips & salsa that is made in house. It was very good. Food came out promptly and was delicious. Server came by often to check all was good. They did not have soap in bathroom only cup with what looked like powered laundry soap. The decor does not go with a bbq place. Other then that all was good and I will definitely fo back for some good bbq and friendly service.

Brisket enchiladas great again, added a brisket crispy taco, taco delicious. Sever not great, took our order, brought us our food, brought us refil, after that, nothing. She sat behind the counter the entire time, talking to other servers or on her phone. We finished our meal, my wife had leftovers, we wanted a takeout box but she never came back or looked our way to see us motioning to her. After 10 minutes we got up with our plates and took them to cashier station and asked for a to go box. We probably wont go back. Food is great but if service is bad, the meal is not enjoyable

You don t get the you re at a good bbq place vibe, but an expensive overpriced spot that has music blasting giving off the impression you re at an iheartradio event or something. Their music selection is radio hits from the 2010 s that have nothing related to country or southern music. The restaurant has been around for a while but it rarely ever has half capacity met. It s over spaced, over priced, and is trying to be too much of everything at one time.

My wife and I normally go to the Ace Restaurant on Griffin Parkway. We decided to go to the Aces in Edinburg because its closer to our home. Moving from California to the RGV has been an experience. Trust me. I dont miss California at all. The people we have met in the RGV are just awesome. Texas BBQ is definitely the best and Aces has always impressed my wife and I. Today I ordered the ACE sandwich. My wife ordered the two meat combo. We took the order to go and the service was great as always. I took photos of our meals and photos dont lie. Awesome sandwich. I almost cried when I took the first bite. So delicious and tender. Sausage, brisket and pulled pork on a sandwich? Only in Texas my friend. Yeeeha. My wife had brisket and chicken. Hugh portions. The brisket melted in your mouth. Heavenly peach cobbler to die for. Yes, I love food. Im just keeping it real. I love great BBQ. Not that fake stuff we get in California . California had some great spots for BBQ but Texas is the home for BBQ. Another awesome meal by Aces. Im definitely in love... Keep smokin Aces. Thank you for such a great meal.

We had the brisket sandwich combo, fried okra, and potato salad. The brisket was dry and didnt have a good flavor. The highlight was the okra and potato salad.

Didn t have sides listed on the menu at lunch time w no customers inside. When I took my parents food to them the potato salad was rancid..my elderly mom almost threw up..I don t know how she missed the smell. I then called the restaurant expecting an apology , but the manager who couldn t really speak English started yelling at me like I was the one at fault. I told him I found it personally insulting that a restaurant would serve rotten food to me or my parents. Asked for the owner to call and that never happened. First and last visit for me!

Like every barbecue place in the Rio Grande Valley they try to create an image of a barbecue joint that been established for years. Ace is another one of those strip mall like barbecue joints. It does not mean it is a bad barbecue place it only means it not as well recognized but so far it one of the better barbecue joints in the Rio Grande Valley. Barbecue joints like Smittys or Kreuz in Lockhart, City Market in Luling and Coopers in Mason have been established for years and are considered the bench mark of what Texas barbecue is all about. Ive tried these barbecue place and compared to them Ace barbecue is pretty good. I heard about Aces from a coworker who said she was not very impressed by the barbecue. I thought I would give it a try. After a long day of yard work, I worked up an appetite and headed out to see what Aces was all about. I arrived at the Edinburg location after missing it the first time. I noticed the strip mall feel but I thought let me give it try. I went in and was greeted by a nice waitress who asked me if was dinning in or carrying out. I said carry out. I order a sliced brisket sandwich and a 4 pork rib plate with a side of coleslaw and potato salad. I took it home for dinner but received a call from my brother asking me if I would like to hang out at his house and eat some carne asada (South Texas Style Barbecue) I said sure and I took the food to his house for an honest critic. So here goes, I shared the food with my brother and his daughters and this what they said. Rib are soft nice rosemary taste, I agreed. The potato salad looks homemade and very good, we all agreed, the Cole slaw was not as good. Didnt look home made but was adequate. The brisket sandwich we sliced into four pieces and we tried it. My nieces said it was also good but they added barbecue sauce. I said it was soft but needed more smoke flavor. My brother agreed. We did not add barbecue sauce to our slice of the brisket sandwich, which I feel barbecue sauce doesnt benefit a good smoked brisket, and it would only mask the lack of smoke flavor of the brisket sandwich. The brisket was tasty, soft and moist but needed more of a smoke flavor. The ribs also needed more smoke and barbecue sauce tasted commercial. The last item is the price for everything I got. Mind you I ordered a brisket sandwich no sides, a rib plate with two sides included, and no drinks which was a total of $23.53. I little expensive for a few items. Overall my experience was pretty pleasant and it was good food. Only con is the lack of smoke and the price.

This was just one awful experience at this location (Edinburg) this one time. The waitress kept apologizing and making excuses for the lack of item availability due to a big rush in the morning and being understaffed in the kitchen. They were out of ranch dressing, shrimp, and hamburgers. The wait time for our orders was close to an hour, and the 2 people in our party who ordered baked potatoes left without eating anything because their food never came. Some of the decor inside the restaurant was also very distasteful. A license plate hanging above the mens restroom door had some vulgar saying on it. Overall, with this experience, we would not return to this business again. I would at least expect management to approach our group and apologize, but none of that happened.

They got my takeout order wrong, food was unremarkable. Received chopped brisket instead of sliced I paid for. It was cold out so I asked for no ice in my drink. I got ice. Potato salad was edible but unremarkable. Sausage was good in the same way that warmed generic sausage from a grocery store is good. Brisket was ok. Small portion of brisket in the sandwich is understandable given inflation. Will try to avoid in the future but if I get desperate and dont want to drive further for better food I might give it another go.

This brisket is soft but dry. It has a decent flavor, but its like chewing paper. I suspect that this meat was cooked much too fast, squeezing all the juice out of the meat. If I had to bet, Id say this brisket was cooked for about 4 hours in an oven, then spent an additional 2 hours in a pellet smoker. I know this because there wasnt any bark on the outside of the brisket. The saturation of the smoke ring shows that it was probably cut before going into the smoker. *Heres a free tip- if you slice your meat thinner, you can hide the dryness more. & also my coke was flat. Wife hates that. We wont be back.

Its pricey, got a Brisket Botana for 4 and botana for 2 + order of Brisket, it was good but pricey. I usually get a botana for 6 and pay 60 dollars 15 dollar more per pound of extra meat.

We were very disappointed with the food for the price. The sausage was cheap, the brisket baked potato was 3/4 fat and 1/4 meat as well as the plate. The brisket had no flavor. I had heard good things about the Mission one, that is why we decided to try the one Edinburg. No way am I gong back. Dont recommend this place at all.

I couldn t rave enough on Ace s BBQ- Edinburg. My husband and I ordered the bbq and chicken specials so we could get a little taste of everything and I have absolutely no complaints. Everything was so good. I had to tell the owner personally that it was the best bbq I ve ever had. I highly recommend!!!

My family and I were looking forward to some good BBQ, just like the Mission location, however we were disappointed. I should have trusted my instincts of leaving when we walked in and noticed that all the customers sitting had no plates(6 different tables). No one greeted us at the entrance. Took 30 minutes to get our first plate, 12 minutes later we got our second plate, and 8 minutes later my daughter got her plate, so much for eating together. We will stick to the Mission location from now on!!! Bad service all around! The waitress also didnt seem happy to be there.

Way too pricey. Yes the brisket was tender but expensive. One quarter with four slices of brisket over $15. Ramos on 10th Street and Sprague is much cheaper. ALOT CHEAPER.

Brisket is good, but food is a little over priced for lunch. To start, waiter gave us a menu with outdated prices. Then, I was charged for a side that came with my meal. Waiter was able to adjust my bill, however, I still think $15 for 2 brisket tacos, one side and drink is a little too much.
