My wife and I visit this little place at least a couple times a month and have never been disappointed. The food is routinely very good and is inexpensive. Great lunch menu. Doesnt look like much but a very satisfying little restaurant.

I was really surprised by this place. Everyone was very nice and the food was outstanding. I had the cheese enchiladas with a taco. Wife had the sour cream enchiladas. Both were really good and you definitely have to get the queso.

I give them 3 stars just for the customer service. Chavo was very kind to us but the food is very dry, the ground beans tasted too old, a very small plate for the price, the meat enchiladas were actually chili, the chicken enchiladas did not have chicken, only cheese, I wanted to like this place because of We really enjoyed Mexican food. Id have to think about whether Ill give them a second chance

Little hole in the wall Mexican food place about 5 minutes south of downtown Denton. Waiter was very attentive & made sure all my needs were met. I had the Menudo. Very flavorful. Did not have a lot of hominy. But that s ok. Place needs a new inside roof - but that s nic- picky on my part. Looking forward to going back to try other menu items. Small serving of pinto beans with salsa. That was a nice treat.

We re so glad that the nearest Tex-Mex joint to our home is so tasty! Been dining here both in-restaurant and to-go for 15+ years at this great little hole in the wall and the food is consistently delicious. Good chips, better salsa, and great entrees, plus they serve a nice lil bean soup as part of their chip and salsa service. They use fresh spinach in their quesadillas and enchiladas instead of frozen! The service can be a little hit or miss - never bad, just sometimes a bit slow - and the space isn t fancy though it is clean, but the food comes out piping hot straight from the kitchen (the cheese on our enchiladas was literally sizzling tonight!), so we see no reason to complain. If you re in the mood for a tasty, reliable, no-frills Tex-Mex bite, you ve come to the right place. And don t worry if you pull up and think there s nowhere to park - there are spaces alongside and around back. Vegetarian options: Spinach enchiladas or quesadillas (made with fresh, not frozen, spinach!). Bean and cheese nachos or tostadas. Guacamole tostadas. Parking: It looks like there s hardly any parking from the front, but there are spaces along both sides and around back. Wheelchair accessibility: Not very wheelchair-friendly - have to step up onto their porch, definitely no ramp on one side and do not believe there is one on the other.

We tried this place based on the reviews, and this was a major disappointment. The positives, we love independently owned, hole in the wall Mexican restaurants, and the service was good. The food was some of the poorest quality Ive ever experienced. The tamale tasted and looked like those that you can get from a can. The beef in the taco was mushy and questionable. The food was swimming in grease. We really wanted to like this place based on the reviews, but this was not worth a visit at all.

Love coming to this precious family owned and operated Mexican restaurant. Fair prices, quick service, always friendly. Lunch and dinner specials Tuesday through Friday. BUT - CLOSED on Monday. Love the warm chips served at every table, the freshly made salsa, the cherry flan!! Haven t had a single entree I didn t totally enjoy! Vegetarian options: Rice & Beans, Cheese based options, bean based options, salads. Dietary restrictions: Clearly not a gluten-free kind of place, but no true Mexican restaurant is. Parking: Parking is on 3 sides of the tiny building housing Mi Ranchito, and at the pawn shop next door if it s dinner time. Kid-friendliness: Family-friendly place, children welcome Wheelchair accessibility: The uneven parking lot surface & the large step up into the front porch would make getting a wheelchair to the front door challenging. If you park on the north side of the building, it s less of a step up & manageable with a walker or wheelchair. Door opens outward, so get on the left side of the door to go in. Inside should not be a problem, though I haven t been in their bathrooms, so can t comment on accessibility for that.

The foods undeniable now for over twenty years. The mole dishes are the winner, and the salsa is solid. Ive also had enchiladas here. The choriqueso was a huge hit at the table. Disappointed based on such high reviews. I love a hole-in-the-wall type place, but this is not that special find. Salsa was decent. Service was slow. We have always loved eating at Mi Ranchito so we asked them to cater my husbands 50th birthday party at our home and WOW, WOW, WOW!!! The food was delicious, professionally prepared, and served with perfect customer service. Our guests loved the food and the kindness from the staff!! Ordered pickup. Everything in the order was correct except for my plate. Ordered tamales and got the completely wrong plate (beef enchiladas and a taco). The chorizo queso came hard and we when we warmed it up in the microwave, it was super stringy. Kind of like melted string cheese. I would say dine in would be the way to go if you wanted to eat here. The actually dishes we did receive were good, but definitely dine in. It guarantees freshness and accuracy.

The food has too much juice and sauce. The beans and rice are very good but the serving is too small. The chips and salsa are great. Tea, water, lemonade also very good! Tamale,,,,not good at all and way too much sauce on top. Crunch Tacos were delicious but again too much juice in the meat. Tacos juice all over. Carne Guisada was very good. Again...too much juice on the plate. Enchiladas were delicious. Chicken sour cream enchilada had no sour cream. Too much cheese on top of the enchiladas. Corn and Flour tortillas are not home-made. Ive been there at least 6 times since working in Denton. Each time is better than the previous! The food is excellent and service is great! Also the sweet tea is perfect! Most places charge 2.50 for dark water..not here. A large glass and timely refills. I most definitely will be going as long as Im in Denton and even will drive up from Corsicana now and then!

My friend and I went for late lunch today and their service is always slow but today it was horribly slow especially considering we were the only two people in the restaurant. My friend found a piece of black metal in her fajita meat. I even took it and was looking at it and it definitely was a piece of metal. We told the waitress and she took the piece of metal and walked off and no one ever came to apologize to us to ask my friend if she wanted something else they totally ignored us. After waiting an extremely long time we finally got the waitress and had her bring us another fajita. Even checking out we still never got an apology. No we did not get a discount on our bill we had to pay the full amount and believe me if me or my friend has swallowed the piece of metal it would not have been good. It was a fairly big piece of metal and my dad caused quite a bit of damage going down your throat. I will never go back to this restaurant again which is sad because I liked their food but it was like we were interrupting the waitress and that she didnt really have time for us I need to get no apology I mean not one word about it after we told her so if you go be very careful because you dont know whats going to be in your food and what you might swallow

The good: True Mexican cooking, delicious, no frills in a small restaurant with character. Service is great and prices are very agreeable. The bad: Parking can be tight. Overall, I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys authentic Mexican cuisine (not just texmex) from a family kitchen. I go a couple of times a month at least.

Good food, I came back because I liked the atmosphere that day. But today I return June 16. 4:30pm. We were served by a woman with a very bad character. Rude in her manners. I think it was only us because he went with Anglo-Saxon people and smiled and every so often he went and offered them or asked if they were okay. With us he only came to bring us food and never stopped again. Thats why I didnt leave him tips. Think that Hispanics dont leave tips. But if we let them, they have to earn it with good treatment and not judging people ahead of time. I give the food a 5. Very good portion. and good seasoning

I have been here many times before but the last time me and my two kids ate there our bill was $70! We didnt order anything extravagant and I only had a couple of beers. The bad part was the receipt doesnt show itemized billing so I didnt even know what I was actually charged for. I constantly had to ask for salt packets and my server wasnt very attentive. Never going back.
