Founders Plaza is an open concrete park in downtown Dallas. A few trees provide shade with benches to enjoy watching the passing tourists, most of whom are probably here for nearby Dealey Plaza. The area includes the Old Red Courthouse, the John Neely Bryan Cabin, the Kennedy Memorial, and a terrazzo map of Dallas County in the 1800s. There is metered street parking and several paid lots nearby. Playground: There is no playground here. Toilets: There are no public restrooms here. Dog-friendliness: Leashed dogs are permitted. Picnic area: There are no picnic tables but there are benches.

I have been to this place multiple times and taken all the friends, family who visit my house. If weather is nice like yesterday and as you see it the pictures as well. It is very nice to see the flights land and take off so close. Binoculars give us a close up view. Small model of American Airlines with working small water sprays are good for kids. I am not sure if any airport has such viewing facilities but since DFW provides we love it!!!

You dummies this is the wrong place you put the wrong pictures. This place is the JFK assassination site in downtown Dallas. The place near the airport is called DFW Founders Plaza.

MOST OF THE REVIEWS HERE ARE WRONG,, MOST OF THEM GOT CONFUSED THIS WITH SOME OTHER PLACE AND POSTED THEIR REVIEWS... I LOST ONE HOUR TRAVELLING HERE hoping to see airplane landing.., THIS IS NOT AN AIRPLANE OBSERVATORY PLACE. THIS IS IN DOWNTOWN, NO RUNWAY VIEW HERE. All the airplane photos shown here are not taken at this location. THE Actual AIRPLANE OBSERVATORY IS CALLED DFW Founders Plaza located NEAR AIRPORT, at 1700 N Airfield Dr, Grapevine, TX 76051, Google plus code is: WW9R+G9 Grapevine, Texas.. A... Save time and money and dont go here for Airplanes

Being a native Dallasite - I have many memories of time spent at Founders Plaza. My Dad worked at the Dallas Main Post Office that was in the Terminal Annex Building ( Modern day US Patent and Trademark Texas Regional Office) at the corner of Commerce and Houston Streets in the 1960 s. He was there in 1963 that fateful day. Looking across Houston Street is our Old Red Courthouse standing as a testament to period architecture that is unmatched! Then what was the Dallas Record s Building is across Elm - where we spent time pulling abstract copies and doing title searches and more through the years. The other corner is the historic Dallas Book Depositary Building where the present day Sixth Floor Museum marks the 11/22/63 date of the darkest in Dallas history. Walk down to Main Street and see the x where President Kennedy was shot painted on the street. Then walk over to the grassy knoll where there is usually a set up of Kennedy exhibits and souvenirs along with Conspiracy Theorists to give their input and point out those speculations for you to consider. Walk back to Dealey Plaza at the Fountains where the statue of George Dealey stands. Mr. Dealey was the publisher of the Dallas Morning News and owner of A.H. Belo Corporation. (1859-1946) So much from just this vantage point! Bling Blinky of Texas Shout Out: Enjoy my Hometown Downtown!!
