A new experience at College Station, if you are looking for some good and inexpensive food then this is for you. The ribs were magnificent, the meat wanted to fall off the bone, the chicken tenders were mouth watering. The Mac and Cheese, oh my, it was just goodness. Staff was very helpful in assisting what to get. The price was reasonable. We will be back!!!

Ate here while staying at CS. Fast and friendly service, though the tables could have been cleaner. Location is central, just a couple of minutes from A&M. Sandwich and tacos were both fairly good, but the sizes tend to be on the smaller side. Fries are a must have, fresh and crisp. Pricing is reasonable.

The staff here were great! They were such a blessing! The mac and cheese and fried chicken was exceptional! The atmosphere is chill and laid back. Loved it! Parking: Plenty of parking. Right outside of the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Im not disabled personally, but It seems very wheelchair friendly. Everything is flat and on the same level as the door. Theres some high tops, but plenty of regular height tables that can accommodate wheelchairs.

The bathroom isn t that clean and they forgot some of my meal, other than that their food is super and the fries could win a French fashion show. The service is well and the workers are very exited and polite. The place also smells pretty good, almost smells like a happy summer day. I would come here again, but my dad said otherwise. I ate here 4 or 5 times during a two week stay in College Station. The staff were always very nice and prompt. All of the food was great. The chicken tenders are big, well seasoned and fried just right. The chicken and waffles is absolutely amazing. And the ice cream sandwiches are great to cool your mouth if you get the Texas Hot or AMF tenders. Great job all around. I wish we had one of these back home.

Besides the food being phenomenal the service was amazing. The manager came to our table to constantly check on us. He also did the same with others. What a great place to stop while your in College Station. I m really proud to see how organize, clean and awesome service we were provided. Especially coming from a younger crowd. Manager is doing a great job with the place. We came in for a campus tour at Aggieland and stayed for the food. Let s not talk about what great flavor the chicken had and the MAC N CHEESE WAS yummy!!! If your down there make sure to stop here!!

Juicy Shack Bites, spicy chicken tacos with a very fresh salad, and DELISH chicken and waffles (with whipped butter, syrup, and powdered sugar!) YUM!!! Deliciously crispy, hot hot HOT chicken. The shack sauce, pickles, and coleslaw on the sandwich were great as well. Mac and cheese was fantastic as were the dragon fries. The AMF heat level was super hot (blend of Ghost, Carolina reaper, and Scorpion peppers) but had great flavor. Worth every minute of pain.

Update: we ve since been back and quite enjoyed our dine in experience this time! I ordered the Sleezy chicken bowl and absolutely loved it. The food here all around is very good. I was most impressed with how spicy the AMF spice is. I generally can tolerate a lot of spice, but this brought me to my breaking point admittedly. The only qualm I have with this place is that we found a piece of plastic in one of the chicken strips. We want very badly to like this place, so we will probably come in to order again, but random mishaps like this tend to be a deal breaker for me.

But doesnt matter because the important part (the chicken) was top notch. The Cookshack is my favorite place in College Station to get hot chicken. If you want to know what spiciness level to get, Medium is a good baseline, Texas Hot is spicy, and AMF is too much, unless you eat ghost peppers whole already. The quality of chicken is always great, and I never regret coming here. And it is pretty affordable for the quality they give you too. My favorite item is the Chicken and Waffles. One thing I wish they had is milkshakes, especially with the spicier strips.

So the chicken strips here come in 5 heat levels. I ordered level 4, Texas Heat. I got the 5 piece but was only able to finish 2 and a half, mainly due to how freaking spicy they were. I like spicy food, but this was too much lol. My girlfriend had the level 3, Spicy, and they were perfect. After talking to our waitress, she explained that the level 4 contains both cayenne and habenero pepper. Apparently if you order the level 5 you have to sign some type of waiver as it contains 3 of the hottest peppers around. Overall everything was very good and I will go back but watch the heat level if youre unsure which to order.

The AMF heat level is the spiciest dry seasoning in town. You sign a waiver and every bite of those tenders feels like fire. If it isnt spicy enough, ask for a side of the AMF seasoning. However, I highly recommend Texas Heat or medium with one of their sauces. The flavor is much better on the less spicy ones and you dont hurt the next day.

Very friendly and prompt service. Got some ribs and tenders upon recommendation of the staff who were very friendly and helpful. The ribs turned out to be tender, yet weirdly unflavorful, the tenders were good and the recommended gravy was strangely good (it was a cross between bbq sauce and gravy) and made for a good flavor combo with the chicken. The surprising thing was the side kale salad which was very well made and I really think they should push the salads more! Overall might visit again to try other items. I arrived to this location not knowing anything about it. I had a hunger in my belly that was calling for some tasty food. Upon entering the restaurant I was greeted by EJ if I recall his name correctly and informed that me nor my companion had never eaten here before and knew nothing about it. He took his time explaining the menu to us and asked us our preferences. He then had to assist another customer and another cashier came in and took our order. The customer service was phenomenal and it only got better from here. We took our seat and our food came out quickly. The way the food looked was simply perfect. I could see the the fresh crisp of the chicken with a bit of juices flowing from it. The sweet potato fries were a perfect size and on the thinner side that added a wonderful crisp with each bite. The crunch and spice of the Nashville Hot Chicken tenders was to perfection. EJ had recommended that I try the medium even though I love my spice. He was not wrong about the medium having plenty of flavor because it was great with zero complaints! Between the flavor and crisp I thought it couldn t get better. But it did with the introduction of the Buffalo sauce. Near the end of our meal EJ came by and checked in on us and to our surprise came back a short time later with a sample of their chocolate chip ice cream sandwich. This was one of the best stays at a restaurant that had exemplary customer service lead by EJ and wonderful food that will have me coming back.

Let me just say from the entrance telling you how to get into the building to the food and staff everything was incredible! I m hoping like every new business in this town this one stays true to what it gave today I ll be sad if they go downhill! The waffles were perfectly fluffy with just a tad bit of crunch which I love! The Mac and cheese was oh so gooey and creamy and so so good and I m extremely picky about my Mac and cheese but this one s in my top 5 favorites. Chicken strips were phenomenal it s nice paying for fresh food and not bagged and frozen being passed off as fresh. The margarita swirled with the sangria was the coldest one I ve had in the BCS area and the girl behind the counter who took our order and made my drink just so darn sweet along with the gal who checked on our table and cleared it. This is the best place in town to get your chicken tender fix. I absolutely love the breading on the chicken and the shack sauce is a better version of the Zaxby/Canes sauce. This place is a little pricy but you are paying for what you get! Their fries, smoked gouda mac and cheese, and side salads are great too.

I think like most places around here the food is good when it first opens but after a few months quality declines. Fries are super salty now for some reason. Placed an order through grub hub and when it was delivered we were missing half of our order. Manager said it was their fault and literally did nothing to remedy the issue so that was cool.

The best food! Chicken tenders were hot and juicy!! The waffles were fluffy, coleslaw was killer!! The Mac and cheese was to die for!!! So creamy and it has a smokey flavor!! Portions are huge. Staff was so nice the chef came out and talked to us about what was in the coleslaw and mac and cheese. She thanked us for coming in she had us try the butterscotch ice cream sandwich!! It was so good!! We will tell everyone we can and we will be back!!

Had a great time eating lunch here! ... The food came out fast despite the restaurant being busy. I like that you can mix up the spice level within your order, I got 3 medium and 2 Texas Hot and my wife got 2 mild and 1 medium. The Texas Hot was spicy, but still had good flavor. Very clean environment in the restaurant too. Cant wait to come back!

We were pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste of the food. I had the chicken tacos and hubby had chicken (medium) and ribs. Bothe were very good. We also got the sweet heat sauce for the fries. I would eat Botha again and also want to try the chicken and waffles and the Mac and cheese. We will definitely be back.

Theres nothing special about this place. The atmosphere, food, drinks are all average. This place can thank Mason, the guy who was working the register for the one star review. You never know who youre serving, so you should treat everyone the same. He was friendly at first but after I didnt add a tip at the register, his whole demeanor and attitude changed. After our food was brought out no one checked on our table for the 45 minutes we were there. No one asked if we needed our drinks refilled, needed more condiments, or how was the food. Mason served three other tables and checked on them no less than two times each. See why I dont tip order takers? I only tip those who tend to my party at the table. Upon leaving I had to go to the bar and get our own to go boxes. Customer service goes a long way when your food is just average. We had the chicken and waffles, the only flavor was from the syrup. And we had the chicken tacos which were essentially a chicken tender in a flour tortilla with some cabbage and sliced pickles on top. The only flavor was from the pickles.

Found this place while driving around and we were pleasantly surprised. Parking is easy, location was clean. Staff was very friendly. There are not many variety on the food pretty much tenders or sandwiches but they were great. Medium heat is actually hot. Fries were delicious and fresh. The strawberry margarita was one of the best I ever have. I will be back.

Great spot in town. I have eaten here many times at this point and I am a big fan. The menu offers just what you would expect from a chicken restaurant and they execute it really well. Its not fast food but it is quick. Its definitely one of my favorite places to just grab a bite in town, plus they have a student discount. I am not super impressed by their lemonade but I think the quality is really good and the prices are pretty standard.
