When I came to Austin, I remembered the Indian food I had in Korea, so I went to another large, highly rated Indian restaurant. The taste is so different from the Indian food I ate in Korea. I thought there was no Indian food to suit my taste in America. I happened to pass by and came here after looking at the picture, and this place has the kinds of curries that Koreans usually like, such as butter makhni, chicken masala, and spinach palak paneer, and they are delicious. I recommend it if you like Indian food!

Food was to the spice level requested, but the table interaction with wait staff was sun-par. You sit down at the table scan a QR code at the table and pay for the order. The staff was helpful placing the order when I had issues with the Internet. Biryani rice was firm yet fluffy and spicy! Sag paneer sauce was not quite as thick as Ive seen, but tasty nonetheless. Free, room temperature, water bottles were provided for free. Once my mouth started to burn towards the end of the meal, I turned my head to look at the wait clock and he approached me. I would have appreciated if someone checking on me a little bit more. If its service you want, this business model doesnt match. Food is pretty good. Id try it another time down the road. Perhaps itll be a better experience.

The other day, I had the pleasure of dining at Salt n Pepper for the first time, and it was an incredible experience! A warm and welcoming young man greeted us when we walked in and offered fantastic menu suggestions. We started with the Chicken Biryani and Butter Chicken, accompanied by some freshly made naan bread. The flavors were terrific, and the portion sizes were very generous! We were so impressed that we went back a few days later to sample more dishes, and once again, we were delighted. This local gem is definitely worth a visit!

Very good food and serving staff is friendly. Definitely going back there. Pepper Goat, Hara Hara Goat, Fish Tandoori Masala are my Fav Tried numerous things and Ive been a repeat customer. But I feel they think putting plate on the table means service. And common, make 5 menus. You really do not care about older generation people. Can you believe they dont have a paper menu not even few and their website is not so great. Restaurant does not mean food only. Everytime I come here I kinda lose.my patience while selecting the dishes because the website is all over the place and navigating it is extremely chaotic. If their menu was better I would visit 2 times more. I have started going to Sangam, they have paper Menu.

I went here for a late lunch on June 1st, 2024. I sat down & was told to scan for menu. The server guy only came to my table once & I asked him a question about a dish & he came back & I told him Ill look for something else. I waited like 20 minutes & he never came back to my table. So I went to their app and order from there ( though I was still dine in). 15 minutes after that the server finally arrived at my table to tell me the 2 items I ordered were both no longer available on the menu. At 5his point, I told him I will go somewhere else & to cancel my order. And I went somewhere else. Now I did not complete the order in the app ( did not pay for it yet), yet I see I was still charged for everything. I didnt have anything there, not even a sip of water & yet they charge me! I will never come back to this place - poor service & thieves.

A very good Indian restaurant at a convenient location in Cedar park. The chef is good and I liked the taste. The quantity for the money charged is very good - value for money. Non vegetarian items especially lamb and mutton are very good. Very good service and polite hosts. You can sit inside as well as outside the restaurant. Vegetarian options: There are some vegetarian options but it s not a vegetarian restaurant. Dietary restrictions: I could not see that in the menu. You can check while ordering your food. Parking: There is parking available in front of the restaurant. Even parking space for handicapped people is also there. Kid-friendliness: Yes, it s a family restaurant. You can bring your kids to the place. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, there is wheelchair accessibility to the restaurant.

Horrible customer service! Went to pickup a lunch order for several meals, and the receipt was correct, but they gave me a wrong order, which I realized after opening the bag. I called them to ask for a refund for the incorrect dish, which contained meat that I cannot eat, and they demanded that I drive back to their restaurant and return the food, or they would not be able to do anything. The lady on the phone was extremely rude and hung up on me. Will not be back.

The portions are extremely generous. One (1) item can serve two (2) people easily. Additionally, the spice level is very high for Americans. Mild may be too much for the meek. Finally, the language barrier can be an impediment. Overall, this is a very good place to have a wonderful meal.

This restaurant is a must-visit for Indian grilled and tandoori chicken lovers! The butter bread and hariyalli goat curry was a highlight, with a perfect balance of spice and flavor that left me impressed. While the rice in the biryani could have been more flavorful, the chicken pieces were incredibly juicy and full of flavor. Overall, a great place to try.

I do not recommend this resturant because the staff is dishonest and rude. We placed an order and used doordash. The order was suppose to ready in 20 minutes and it took 60 minutes before it was ready. It was early on Saturday morning and not peak time so I can also guess they are understaffed and have incompent employees. The order was missing Gobi Manchurian and I called to have the items either delivered or refunded. The employee argued with me and said he knew he put the item in the bag. I requested a refund and he said he would have to call me back after checking with his boss. He did call back and the only resoluation was to call in the next time I order and they will give me a free order of Gobi Manchurian. I again asked for a refund and again he was agruing with me and kept saying the item was not missing. I just wanted a refund at this point, he refused to refund my money and said he would have to call me back after speaking to the owner. I have not heard back and probably never will. But I was able to call the DoorDash customer service line and get a refund. Save yourself time and frustation and find another place to eat. These people are terrible.

Flimsy plastic ware instead of silverware and really slow service, but great food. Spent $70 for three entrees, naan bread and two chai teas. Place was virtually empty but seemed to be doing a lot of to-go orders. Waited thirty minutes for our food to come out and when it did, it was just two of our entrees and naan bread. Five minutes later, the gentleman came out with our chais and then went back to get our rice and other entree. We were a bit upset. But, the food was so tasty that we quickly changed our mood. Probably won t dine in again; but may order takeout.

I am writing this review with primary intention of feedback & only after trying several times from this restaurant. More than twice, we have ended up with extremely salty food from here. I understand restaurant survives on salty, oily prepared dishes, however, the amount of salt on the chicken gravy / appetizers we have received were way too much. Salt & pepper, have a taste test of the food you are sending out the kitchen (moderate salt or essential amount only) & if you would prefer that, despite the business aspect.

The restaurant needs to address taste and quality soon.

All of it was pretty tasty even with the curry seasoning. We ate it all eventually. It was nice to try something different, but not sure Ill be back.... maybe once or twice a year.

We ordered the mutton shorba soup, hot and sour soup, goat korma, and Mutton Rara Gosht. All were amazing. I love this place and always come back for the spice of the hot and sour soup, but I have to say I think the shorba is my new favorite. I was mostly impressed by how much meat is in all of the dishes, especially the Rara Gosht- it reminded me of when I had venison stew as a kid! The goat was very tender and tasty. I recommend buying these two entrees together as the sweetness of the korma and the heavy spices in the gosht compliment each other. Nice to have side by side.

The menu is overwhelming but the kind people behind the counter will guide you if you tell them what you had before and like. We had korma chicken, chicken tika masala, and another curry they recommended (sorry can t remember). Well, I gave Salt n Pepper a second chance, but unfortunately, lightning didnt strike twice. This time I went for the chicken lollipop because that is something that stuck out to me, hoping for a better experience, but it was just loaded with fat and swimming in oil not a tasty combo. To be honest, all the other dishes fell short too, and considering the prices, it was a bit of a letdown. I wouldnt really suggest this place to anyone, and Im not sure Ill be back for round three.

It makes me so sad to see negative reviews! I almost didn t order here because of it but I m so glad I did! I ordered Saag Paneer, Garlic Naan, and Vegetable Samosas. I was so happy with the quality of the food, it was some of the best paneer I ve had and the flavor was AMAZING!! Garlic naan was a bit too thin for my taste but very flavorful and soft. I am so delighted with this restaurant.

We moved here two years ago and found this place the first week. We ve eaten here about once a month since that time. We love getting takeout but eating inside is great as well. This is our favorite Indian food restaurant in Austin! Highly recommend. Don t walk, run! to salt and pepper.

I was delighted to find Salt-n-Pepper for lunch today. I had the butter chicken, garlic naan, and a mango lassi. It was a very generous portion so I will be keeping the yum going for another meal so much more to try and I will definitely be going back. Food

Felt like they re not serving fresh food at all. We took Biryani for to go but it got spoiled the next day. Must try dishes if you visit Salt N Pepper: Boneless Mutton Biryani, Chicken Tandoori, Hariyali Chicken. We tried some kebabs, felt they just microwaved already cooked kebabs. And please don t waste your money by ordering any desserts here. We ordered Gulab Jamoon, they served Haldirams Gulab Jamoon by warming it up in the microwave.

Had really good authentic Indian food here and the host was so kind when he took out order, he gave us great recommendations. The nan is super crispy, light and flaky, not soft and doughy like most places. Would definitely recommend!!

Recommend that the owner spend less time seeking reviews and more time on ensuring consistency of food quality. Review your cooks! Newer restaurants seeks reviews because they are NEW. Established restaurants needs consistency. The food is average. No major issues with the service or atmosphere.

Ordered takeout and spent $57. The fried onion appetizer was soggy. Literally no crunch and imagine this is a fried dish. The dipping sauces did not add flavor. My main lamb curry dish was bland. The rice was just white rice with no fragrance. Literally just white rice. Not even garnish. Indian food is supposed to be fragrant and flavorful! The only good thing was the naan and that was just a 4 out of 10. Was highly upset to spend so much as their prices are high for such poorly made cuisine.

They have great environment. I love their Biryanis more than anyone elses. People are friendly. Food is fresh almost every time. I would rate their gravies as above average but their biryanis are top top top class. They also invented their fusion biryani named as Butter Chicken Biryani and that is really awesome piece of art. This goes without saying that their all other biryanis are great. Love this place as true to the core of South India cooking (although I know South cuisine is really vast and bigger than their menu).

I had the lamb korma and my wife, the butter chicken. The first thing that I noticed was how (cant overstate) incredibly high quality were the meats. The lamb was succulent. The chicken, perfectly cooked and cut. The sauce was a heavy cream texture that said to me someone in the kitchen cares about quality of ingredients. Naan bread is fantastic, and just as good when reheated the next day. CAVEAT: The sauces arent as sweet as those of other indian restaurants, but thats easily remedied at home if youre doing take-out.

I placed an online order nothing crazy just fried rice and bhindi masala thats it. The online ordering website only had 7:45pm as the earliest option I could have my food ready and I was placing my order at 6:40ish, 1 hour before the earliest option. I came in 5 mins later and was told my order would be ready in 15 mins, so 7pm however when I came back inside at 7 pm they hadnt even started my order because my ticket said to have it ready by 7:45pm. The problem with that is they knew I was already there, and its not like they were booked with making other peoples orders. People who walked in after me and ordered on the spot got their orders before me so it wasnt like the chefs couldnt fit me in. They purposely ignored my order until everyone else was done eventhough my order was placed before all of them. Took me 50 mins to get my food. I hate incompetence and it takes very little thought and effort to avoid incompetence that the chefs clearly did not want to do, its not that hard to just fit me in when youre already clearly taking walk-in orders. I wasnt bound to my 7:45pm time whatsoever
