Loud, but I expected it to be loud. Its an arcade. I personally dont drink, so cant say anything about their brews. Pizza is delicious and hot when you get it. The unlimited soda for $4 is alright. I kept the cup. I got a purple one this time around.

Cool spot but WOW it is SO LOUD in here. Bring headphones / earplugs if youre sensitive to noise. I understand this is an arcade, but the combination of concrete floors, screaming children, game music and sound effects, and metal chairs scraping across the floor is VERY overwhelming. A lot could be done to improve the acoustics -- add sound absorbing panels, hang heavy curtains, put some felt pads to the chairs. The noise level really detracts from the fun.

I had my grandsons 5th birthday party here on Saturday Sept.14! I was kinda disappointed in the whole experience. It is pretty hyped up on the website but when you get there and find out on top of what I paid for 11 guest and then $60 to reserve a table I cant believe we paid $60 to be set outside in the heat, the birthday cake melted within minutes of being there! Then we bought drinks and there was NO ICE! So we were sat outside in over 100 temps and had to drink fountain drinks that were hot! I really would like to know how yall feel good about charging that much money to reserve a table for 2hours in the Texas heat and not even have cold drinks!?!? This IS NOT A PLACE FOR A CHILDS BIRTHDAY PARTY! Please stop leading people on about this place! It would be fine if it were adults but my grandsons birthday was ruined just stop letting people think its a fun place to have a child s birthday party! Teenagers and adults might be ok if they dont have a cake! Do you people have children? Its fine if your just going to play the games and taking them to do just that but please take it from me its not a good place for a birthday party for kids! And the whole deal with not having Ice for your drinks and not allowing the people to bring their own is a big negative! The pizza was so so if your really hungry! The only thing we enjoyed was a few of the games that we were able to play that were not broken or taken by someone else! Complete rip off otherwise!

EDIT: They have since addressed the pinball machine maintenance Wish I could do a half star off the nitpick is minor, but frustrating if you are a pinball lover. The maintenance on the pinball machines is lacking. Most noticeable are worn down flipper rubber and weak flippers on several of the machines. Other than that the selection is great and they have many classic arcades to choose from such as sunset riders and prisoners of war. For the price $12 its a great deal. You can easily spend 2-4 hours here and play many games which youd easily spend upwards of $30-40 depending on the arcade. It gets super crowded on weekend afternoons, best time to go is mornings or weekday afternoons. Food and drink is decent too especially the pizzas.

Getting to play unlimited games is fun. But the extremely unfriendly staff screams toxic work environment. All three of the bartenders, separately, were rude in different ways to our group. Just a bad vibe. They start with an assumption that the customer is always wrong and annoying. It should also be said, I have never felt inclined to write a negative review of any business. This place has management issues in a way that is tangible to the consumer.

Okay so: I walked in and the amount of games is astounding. It s incredible in terms of what you get for the entry fee. For that alone, I d take all day every day. HOWEVER, if getting food, eater beware. My friend and I ordered pizzas and after eating halfway through I decided to look under the table. A (thankfully dead) 1 long cockroach. Imagine what exists where you can t see. Great place for games, DO NOT EAT HERE

This place is mainly for young children even though there are games that are retro from the 80s that older people could appreciate but theres lots of screaming kids everywhere and they tend to leave the games running especially the pinball machines. Theres not as many pinball machines as I expected and some of them are not in good condition with problems with the flippers or not being level or other issues.

I went to cidercade for a friends party and got scolded by one of their employees for putting my head on the table while waiting for my food. I have autism and get overstimulated really easy (especially in a small place like this with tons of people,) and to self-regulate i just need a minute to myself to rest. Eventually, i had a panic attack and left because this employee kept coming back to me just to scold me. In my opinion, this place is ableist and unconcerned with neurodivergent people. I m not usually the one to pull the ableist card, but this place is not a safe space for neurodivergent people. To be scolded for self-regulation is honestly despicable. I absolutely will not be coming back and i ll be sure to let my friends know of the angry man who likes to berate people for NORMAL behavior. Disgusting. Considering the audience you cater towards, you should do better.

Joel - the place has taken a step backwards. As a former member (unlimited visits). I went this past Monday. The air hockey table is on its last leg, but that s not the reason for this review. It was the service that was provided by the two young ladies behind the bar around 4 o clock on Monday. The most rude off putting vibes I ve ever received from them. They didn t like the fact that I asked if they were ready. They re the most unprofessional people I ve ever come in contact with. I will never step foot in this establishment again. I will make sure to let people know how much of a joke the customer service is. So sad that you hire people that clearly don t want to be there.

I love this place. However, this is the 2nd time my request to turn up the volume on maimai has been denied. Saw what I believe to be the game tech shake his head after a bar employee was telling him my request. Obviously, not too long after a rush of people came, it was not even worth playing since you could not hear anything. In the 5 minutes he was at the bar , the machines volume couldve been turned up. I hope this doesnt happen again as that game is the one thing I look forward to every week. Shout out to the long hair game tech as he has always responded quickly to the request. This time, it was a short hair dude. It shouldnt matter this much but my entire day was simply ruined by the fact I couldnt hear my beloved game.

I went to Cidercade for the first time last night. Initially I thought it was cool, but the longer I was there the more I noticed things that weren t that great. A lot of the games were broken. Either you couldn t get a game started or the games were just off. One of the skeeball machines was broken and many of the other games just didn t respond. The place overall was pretty filthy, and there didn t appear to be a staff that wipes down tables or anything. I wish there was more variety in the drinks. Cider is fine but not my favorite so more variety in drinks would make me come back and try this place again. The food was ok. Ordered the supreme pizza. I m a bit of a pizza snob and the pizza was just ok. I don t think the pizzas are made fresh even though there s a giant pizza oven. I could be wrong though.

I recently visited this place for a work function with our company on 6/29 and while it was fun there was allot of things that I felt needed attention. The food was good, and the retro games were cool. With that being said the issues I had are as follows As a wheelchair user, I found it extremely difficult to get into the building as the ramp going from the parking lot to the sidewalk wasnt wide enough to get up. As the edges my wheels hit. So I had to back down the ramp and try a different direction. By that time I was exhausted from that ramp I needed help to get up the ramp in front. Kinda embarrassing. When I was inside everything was accessible except the outer patio.. again needing to ask coworkers to help us not very fun to do, so I just stayed inside. I went to use the restroom, but couldnt close the door correctly so I decided not to use the facilities and just waited till I got back to the office. I think there is quite a bit of accessibility issues in this building. I personally wouldnt be able to come back to this place on my own with my daughter which I know she would enjoy, but getting in the place just didnt work for me.

To Sean, the director of operations: Hi Sean, I hope you re doing well. I wanted to reach out to discuss a couple of important accessibility concerns that my friends and I encountered during a recent visit to Cidercade. First, I d like to address the ramp that merges directly from the handicap portion of the parking lot into the concrete (not the wooden ramp). Unfortunately, I didn t take a photo of it, but I can either come by today to snap a picture or perhaps an employee could assist with this. The ramp, as it currently stands, is quite unstable and presents challenges for individuals using manual wheelchairs. This is the only ramp available from the parking lot, and it s crucial that it be made safer and more stable for everyone s use. Second, I wanted to bring to your attention an issue with the men s restroom. A friend of mine, who also uses a manual wheelchair, found that the limited space in the restroom prevented him from closing the door behind him. This lack of privacy forced him to self-catheterize in view of others. As you may know, self-catheterization is a necessary medical procedure for individuals like my friend, who is paraplegic, and privacy during this process is critical. The current situation not only compromises the dignity of those who need to use the restroom but also could potentially lead to uncomfortable or legally complex situations should an incident occur. We would love to continue enjoying Cidercade, but these issues have understandably caused us to hesitate about returning. I would greatly appreciate hearing about any options or plans you have for addressing these concerns. We want to be able to visit Cidercade without hesitation and to know that the facility is accommodating to all patrons. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response. Best regards, Cierra

Dont be fooled, pricing is cheap for a reason. I am from Austin born and raised. This is a San Antonio joint that came to Austin claiming to be the best arcade in austin completely disregarding the others arcades here prior. The reason: its not ment for you to be comfortable. Broken games and the tech is not authentic tech. Imagine going to play you favorite game and it dont work. You return in a month or so and it still dont work. I turned around and walked right out. Its cool and all but dont dare say its the best.

Im really disappointed in recent changes to Cidercade policies. For years, since they opened, this has been my go-to spot for anything from casual weekend hangouts to birthdays celebrations or bringing out of town guests. I wont be visiting as often since they started allowing teenagers after hours. A giant benefit of this spot was their 21+ only hours after 8pm, and they recently changed it to after 9pm 18+. The 21+ hours made it worth dealing with their horrible parking lot. I dont want to babysit rowdy teens at 10pm on a Friday night, I want to hang out buy drinks and pizza and be childfree. I am really disappointed with this recent change - other customers at the door and the bar were also vocally dissatisfied. I hope management reconsiders the change and keeps customers happy. Doubt youre selling more cider to those under 21... Ps. Your bartenders are awesome, knowledgeable and friendly

I play Tekken 5 arcade there but TK 3 is the best with Eddie Gordo be nice if the switched... I played a new game like Frogger call Crossy Road somewhere else wish they had that 1 its two players and more fun... There was a lot of games not being played considering a lot of people were in there you can see rows of games not even being touched just glanced over some games are a little too old. Its okay to have an old games but we need some new in the mix... should have some kind of voting system to weed out the old games to get more sought after games in their place.

**DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE** I havent done a review in a while but this place brought me out of retirement. My wife and I frequent Austin quite a bit and had our kids this time. So we wanted to do something fun. Since we had not been to Cidercade, we thought wed give it a try. BIG MISTAKE! First off, the parking situation is terrible. We spent like 10 minutes circling the parking lot, as well as others were, waiting for someone to leave, so we could park. I went to the front and asked the attendant if there was any more parking. He responded with an attitude I dunno, somewhere down the street or in the residential area maybe. I eventually just dropped my wife and kids off at the front and found paid parking roughly a half mile up the road. Its also of note that we paid in advance because on the website it says verbatim buy in advance to skip the line like a VIP. Guess what we didnt do?!?! Thats right. We did not skip the line like a VIP. Still had to wait like everyone else. Place was super crowded. Its evident that the building is older and is in need of some renovations. Bathrooms were gross and something id expect to see in a dive bar. The floors are uneven. Im assuming there is probably wood flooring, then cabling for the arcade machines and then rubber flooring on top of that, which is causing the bumps and uneven floor. As someone who works in tech, theyre plenty of options where you can have even flooring and conceal the cables. I watched multiple people trip on the inside and also trip going out to the back patio where there is like a 5 inch dip between the floor and door threshold. Thankfully they have a small sign in the door that says watch your step. Spent some time on the patio with my wife but not long because they had raccoons hopping up on the balcony to get food from patrons. The pizza looked good but I was already annoyed so I didnt bother. Drink options are terrible. Selling beat boxes for 10 bucks when I could literally go to a gas station or grocery store and get them for roughly 4 bucks is wild. Obviously a business has to charge a bit more to make a profit but come on lol. Would have been nice to see more options as well. A large percentage of the games are OLD old school games. I was under the thought that it would be a mix of new and old but no, just retro games. My recommendation for anyone looking for this type of atmosphere is to just go to Dave and Busters. Ill never step foot in Bishop Cidercade again.

Another staff member was on her phone when my boyfriend tried to ask her a question about the buzzer you get for food when you order, and snapped at him when he kept asking who he gave the buzzer too since no one took it. Its a recorded message that says to text them and they will call you back. Thats already ridiculous but I did, they didnt even call back. They TEXTED me hours later with Whats going on? Id say worth it for a days entertainment. Our family of 5 had a really good time playing all of the games (they have old ones, new ones, off brand, and foreign ones). It was a pretty big place, and most of the arcades worked. Found some new favorite ones, too! My son said the inside was too loud and after a while, he grew weary of being inside. It is a sensory overload. The pizza serving is rather small (personal size) but tasted good, the chicken wings were huge, and their ciders were ok, but we are beer drinkers. I did not like the fact that you didnt know what was on tap, and you had to pull up the menu on your phone. Pretty pricey for the size of the cups, too. All you can drink soda from their off brand soda fountain machine in little mouthwash cups for $4!!! The view to the lake was neat with outdoor seating, but July in Texas is too to be outside.

We originally ate outside but then there was a raccoon visitor that was basically begging for food so we retreated inside. Games were cool and there was a great variety. We went in the early evening and there were a lot of families and teens there but it was still enjoyable nothing like Chuck E Cheese. Definitely go after 9 if you want to enjoy it with just adults. Not having to pay per game really helps folks mess around with an analog experience that can be a bit intimidating. Games obviously get a lot of play and gorilla flips, so there are other spots in town if you want to play a specific release that s shopped more frequently / gets less play. But yeah, lovely folks here. Appreciate y all!

Fun arcade with a variety of games. Our group was obsessed with playing Killer Queen. I didn t try any of the ciders, but their thin artisan pizzas are yummy. Air conditioning is on full blast, so bring a sweater! It also gets pretty loud inside, but they have seats outside overlooking the river, which are perfect for taking a relaxing break. The parking lot is pretty big and we had no issues finding a spot on a Saturday evening.

The condition of the games is unacceptable. The first 5 I tried were unplayable - sticky/barely responsive controls, broken buttons preventing 1 player mode, washed-out screens next to sunny windows (making it impossible to see), etc. All of these issues would be obvious if anyone was doing regular diagnostics and proactive maintenance. It would also be nice for an employee or 2 to circulate to manage the hordes of small kids screaming and abusing the machines. On the plus side, the staff was very friendly and the pizza is good.

Pizza is mediocre. Menu is very limited. Theres only parking for about 60 cars, but the max occupancy is well over 200. Literally had to leave because I had to move my car because the little corner I stuck it in wasnt an allowed parking space and after I pulled out, there was nowhere to park. You cant park in the giant empty lot next door, theres no street parking. The nearest parking lot is a half mile away. And none of this would be that annoying if it werent for the fact that the Cidercade parking lot could probably fit about 40% more cars in it if the lanes between the spaces werent the size of a regulation soccer field.

It is on the website, but you have to dig to find this small note .. Price was appealing till we found this out from a bystander! The girl at the door was not going to tell me this important information!! We ended up going putt putt till 11pm and had a blast.

They just went to pay using QR code. Not a big fan at all. I suppose it would be easy enough if you payed in advance, but when you show up at the front, you can only pay using the QR code. Also when you go to order a drink, you have to scan the QR code... why? A lot of businesses use digital screens you can edit. The way the arcade is trying to conduct business removes customer service.

It s disappointing that you have to stand outside and enter your payment information to even be able to enter the building. For some reason you need to scan a QR code at the door, and I stood in a long long line waiting for others to check in. I spent more time outside on my phone trying to check in than I did enjoying games or anything inside. Will not come back.

We went in on Friday about 2PM and the place had too busy for us to be able to do anything. The games were very old, and the few newer games were so busy that it was impossible to have a chance of playing. This was such a waste of money! We were in and out within 15 minutes and it cost me $52.00 to basically look around the building. The kitchen was also closed as well.

I highly recommend Cidercade to anyone, but especially if you or your kids enjoy video games. Super nice staff as well! We will be back next time we are in Austin for sure.

Im putting a one-star review until the issue is resolved, then Ill likely change it to 4 or 5 stars. Im a big fan of local arcades and especially arcades where you can drink & have a great time with your friends. I used to live next to Pinballz and frequent there, then adopted Cidercade as my main spot once I moved South. While theyve got plenty of great games to satisfy to the competitive itch, the pinball corner is especially good with their newer and more flashy array of options. A personal favorite of mine has been Godzilla with honorable mentions to Jurassic Park, Stranger Things, & Foo Fighters (believe it or not). That being said, more recently somebody decided to adjust the height on Godzilla to where the upper right ramp is just... unachievable now. I saw my friend rip not one, not two, not even three, but a full SIX perfect shots to it without a single ball making it in. She and I made it our nights goal to get that ramp, and neither succeeded. I came back with more friends from game design school to play, and still none of us could hit that ramp. This used to be my favorite game in the building, and a main attraction if I was going there 1:1 with a competitive friend or partner. Theres something about unlocking those monster fights thats just so satisfying in a way none of the other pinball machines are quite delivering. (I guess the Demigorgons close, but not all my friends can kill it -- so its often anticlimactic.) Ive mentioned it to workers there a couple time, but to no avail. So until that machines fixed, Im just gonna leave this overly dramatic 1-star review really just for attentions sake. Soon as thats handled -- or even just if this review is responded to -- Ill change it to much higher.

When its busy theres not much to do or available. All the games you probably want to play are taken or have a line. If you want to go the weekdays or off-peak hours are a lot better. The problems: Half the games are broken, its sticky, and parking is a disaster. Unlimited soda had no ice. It feels a bit rundown and not maintained here. Feedback: I wish there was a better selection of games and maybe a wipes dispenser to wipe off after youre done using or before. At the very least the customers can try to help keep the arcade games clean. I think Ill stick to playing games at home with my own drinks.

As a long-time enjoyer of Cidercade, I found myself there once again yesterday with a large group. Immediately I noticed the prices have been raised to get in which would be fine, had it not been for the state I found the arcade to be in. I have been coming here since its opening as I live right down the street and thought it was a good time. Yesterday, however, I was highly disappointed by the condition of the place. Several, SEVERAL games are broken or in some state of disrepair: The one remaining Big Buck shooting games only has one working gun; between two Guitar Hero machines, each have only one guitar that functions properly so you cannot play 2-player; the state of the skeeball game is ABYSMAL, with score labels missing, the barriers warped well past what a circle looks like (see photos), all three machines have a ball stuck behind the left 100 hole that no one has bothered to remove in months, and the middle machine does not register if you sink a 100 in the left hole; Group pac man (the 4-8 player table) was broken; one of the older, 2-player Mrs. Pac Man was completely off. And those are only the ones I saw myself. I wouldnt bother writing this review had I not enjoyed Cidercade so many times before it seems it has since gone downhill in the maintanence and quality of the games. With a price increase, no less. Disappointed.

My kids were SO excited to check this place out, but we all left feeling rather underwhelmed and wishing we had spent our time and money elsewhere. There were way too many people inside, like you literally couldn t walk around and had to wait in line to play just about every game but the pinball machines. We were there 3 hours and still never got to play shuffleboard or the music tapping game and only got to play skeeball and basketball a couple times. Several of the games we wanted to play weren t working or were working intermittently. Also, all the tables were dirty. The concept is a good one, but without limiting the number of people who can enter at once, it just wasn t worth it for us. Some friends who met us said they felt like they had just wasted $24. I m giving it 3 stars because the ciders and pizza were good, and we enjoyed the killing queens game, but overall it wasn t worth the price.

Went to cidercade after spending a day in Austin wasnt a bad way to end the trip the ciders were good and the pizza we had was savory. Only reason Im giving it 4 instead of five stars is because of the following. One of the bartenders when I was settling my tab made mention of the soda of in my empty cider cup which confused me he then proceeds to tell me hes going to have to throw it out as i didnt pay for it which was odd to me because I paid $12 for admission and the 7 for the cider but was expected to pay an additional $4 for a soda from the fountain machine? I assume its policy but seeing how Ive been to bars paid for jack and cokes and been given just plain coke upon request when done with drinking alcohol at no extra charge that just rubs me the wrong way. Since I was already leaving i didnt make a issue of it but yeah thats a stupid policy
