I was in Austin on business from London. I made my reservation via OpenTable over a week in advance. I was hoping to sit on the terrace. When I arrived, the hostess told me that it simply was not possible and that I should have called one week in advance to sit on the terrace. I left the restaurant without ordering anything, extremely disappointed by how nonchalant the hostess was and how she did not seem to care at all.

Horrible, Horrific, Overpriced, Overrated, Insanely treated once they know we are about to wrap up. The manager nicely asked to leave the table after spending $400 there. We booked the table for three to celebrate our friend s birthday. Once we ordered a small cake around 8.00pm the manager came and asked us to leave the table in 5 minutes. We ordered 4 appetisers, 5 other dishes with three different drinks and the ravioli dish ( nearly $30), it had just three small ravioli. I was like so surprised looking into that dish. Then we ordered the cake to celebrate the birthday, right after the cake cutting done, manager came and said they have another reservation so we have to leave. This restaurant charged us almost $400 for our ordered but they didn t even let us enjoy our evening in their table for which we paid a big check. Ridiculously behaved. It was insanely insulting for us. I had no such experience ever in any restaurant that way. Don t waste your money in this restaurant. The food price is super high and overpriced. Atleast they need to server a dish where one person can eat. I will not suggest this restaurant to anyone. Waste of your money. Don t visit this restaurant at all.

I visited Nido Restaurant on September 19 around 3 PM for my birthday, and while most of the experience was great, the interaction with the hostess left much to be desired. The young blonde woman wearing black shorts was extremely rude to me and my friend, Jessica. From the moment we approached, she gave us an unfriendly look, sizing us up in a way that made us feel very uncomfortable. Her tone was aggressive and hostile, and it felt like she may have been homophobic, as she seemed to assume we were a couple. It really dampened the mood of what was supposed to be a special day. Other than that, everything else at Nido was wonderful, but this kind of behavior from the staff is unacceptable.

The food was good, but the experience was disappointing. We were asked to leave after 2 hours, which felt rushed and rude, especially to my European guests who are used to more relaxed dining. A time limit should have been communicated upfront, and the situation could have been handled with more courtesy. This left a negative impression on what could have been a pleasant evening. I would never recommend this place after this negative experience. If I could I would rate them 0!!!

One of the most bizarre experiences I ve ever had at a fine dining restaurant ever. We went for my girlfriend s birthday - (restaurant may be 20% full MAX). The waiter who was helping us didn t have any clue about the menu, didn t provide us plates or utensils, and simply disappeared after the first interaction. Half way through the meal, a spider the size of a piece of toast crawled up on girlfriends arm and proceeded to bite her arm. We then asked to move inside (our own waiter never came back to ask why, what happened or anything). Nobody asked what they could do to help and to top it off, the waiter made a joke about my girlfriend being bit, saying well you might wake up with powers. The manager said they are well aware of the spiders, yet can t do ANYTHING to keep them at bay (exterminators?????). He offered to bring us a dessert (for free) although ive never been to a restaurant that doesn t do a free dessert for a birthday anyways. He was dismissive and simply useless. For the bill being $150 with no sympathy, service, or remedies made by the manager was astonishing. The service was incredibly pitiful and hope that they make some needed changes. Maybe then the restaurant will be more than 20% full. If you go; good luck

If the weather permits, I highly recommend securing an outdoor table to enhance the dining experience. Additionally, the restaurant offers parking validation, making valet service a reasonable $10. If you re looking for a memorable dining experience, this spot should definitely be on your list.

Extremely disappointed with this restaurant. We were visiting Austin to celebrate my boyfriends birthday this past weekend and made a reservation for the outdoor rooftop last Saturday night. However, when we arrived, we were told that there were no available tables outside at the moment, so we were seated indoors instead, with the assurance that we could order drinks and appetizers and would eventually be moved outside. Unfortunately, that never happened. After ordering drinks and appetizers, we had to ask the host again when we would be moved, but the red-haired host simply told us to keep waiting. We ended up ordering and finishing our entire meal inside, without ever being approached or acknowledged by the host about moving outside. The rooftop view and ambiance was the main reason we chose this restaurant, as the food and drinks are nothing special small portions and overpriced. The lack of communication and poor customer service from the hosts ruined our experience. The only positive note was our server, Regina, who was incredible and did her best to make the evening enjoyable. However, we wont be recommending this place or coming back.

Disappointing Experience with Poor Service and Discrimination I recently dined at Nido and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was subpar. It felt as though we were being discriminated against because of our race, which is completely unacceptable. A Latino friend of mine had a similar experience at this restaurant, which only confirms my concerns. The staff promised to move us to a table with a view as soon as one became available, but they never followed through. To make matters worse, the exact table I requested was given to the couple behind us. After they left, the table remained available, yet we were never moved, despite their promise. This left us feeling disregarded and unwelcome. We had also added on the reservation info that it was my birthday and it was never acknowledged. We decided to leave after having two drinks. While the drinks were okay, they weren t worth enduring the poor service and the uncomfortable atmosphere created by the staff s behavior. We left and went to the Roosevelt Room instead, where we had a much better experience. I even doubled the tip there with the money I decided not to give to Nido. Overall, the treatment we received at Nido was far from what I expected from a restaurant of this caliber. Discrimination and poor service have no place in any establishment, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who values being treated with respect.

We decided to visit for my wifes birthday and ask the day before for the patio and they said first come, first serve. I understood because I work as a manager at a restaurant but after arriving we saw empty tables on the window view and asked the hostess to move, she replied as soon as we get one available we will change your table. There was a specific one indoors that we asked for and they said it was reserved but it was given to the couple behind us. We had talked to them on the elevator and they were coming in for drinks without a reservation! They didnt acknowledge what we as a customer were asking for, no manager came by the table and the service wasnt even there. Overall one of the worst experiences. Wouldnt recommend coming here to my Austin restaurant colleagues or anybody. Hope this review gets to the person in charge for the next customers that visit so dont have the same experience. Sadly, we had a fellow latino friend have a similar experience and I dont want to think it was because were latinos because that would be even more disrespectful and disgusting.

This place is a little more expensive than I think it should but what we had today was excellent. Had the Eggs Your way and they were crazy good. A little moist with lots of taste. Bacon was rich not too fatty, and I dont know how they made those potatoes crispy but they were good. I wasnt expecting the french toast to come out the way they did. It looked more like a bread pudding but it was great. The cream had a hint of lime which was super good. Lattes I really good. The syrup for the vanilla latte was a little sweet. But I got another regular one w/o the vanilla and it was perfect. They did take a little long for our food to come, and our server Julia was very apologetic, and her service was great. Management even comped our meal just for the delay in the meal. I appreciated the attentiveness and service. So overall great experience, especially with the atmosphere.

The food was excellent and the waitstaff provided great service but I had a terrible experience with the valet. Apparently the valet guys had a little side hustle going on and were selling parking spots to people who were there to see the fireworks on the lake for July 4th. They told us there were no more parking spots unless we wanted to give them a substantial tip, even though the other two groups in our party were able to valet right before us. It was absolute chaos trying to find a parking spot anywhere remotely in that area and so We called the hotel, spoke with the manager and he profusely apologized, told us to come right back and he met us at the door to ensure that we were taken care of.

Nido was a find on an Instagram page, we had a reservation within the first 2 weeks of opening, it has quickly become a top 5 favorite in Austin. Weve had dinner, brunch, roof-top dessert. I even had a company function here. Everytime the wait staff, the kitchen, and the bartenders delivered a top notch experience. Love the short ribs, hamachi, duck, watermelon salad.

We had a nice dinner at Nido during our weekend stay in Austin. The restaurant is at the top of a hotel near Lady Bird Lake, it has fantastic views of Downtown Austin. Unfortunately the outdoor patio was closed due to a private event when we visited. To start with drinks, I had myself two margaritas. Both were made very good, they have a great selection of spirits. The were averagely priced around $19 a drink. For food I started with the flatbread. It was basically a spinach artichoke flatbread. It was very good and a great size for a starter. Before my entree I decided to try the watermelon salad and that was delicious. It was very light and refreshing. My first time trying something like that, I would definitely order it again. The entree is where this restaurant lacked in my opinion. Given how delicious the drinks were, plus the starters I was excited for the entree. I ordered the half chicken and it was incredibly bland. The skin had a very nice crisp too it and the meat itself was very juicy, but it almost had no seasoning. The side of frites with aioli were very good though. The fries were nice and crisp how I like them. Overall a good dinner, but in my opinion not worth the price. After tip it was $150 for the food plus two margaritas. The views and atmosphere are enjoyable, this makes for a good spot when visiting from out of town. Just hamper expectations when it comes to the food.

Went here for my birthday and loved the atmosphere. The host was very sweet and wished me a happy birthday (we made a reservation and specified were celebrating my birthday). The main issue came with our waitress. She never once introduced herself, didnt say any kind of greeting, and did not check on us when we got our food. First thing she said was, I see you have waters; you want something else to drink and then quickly walked off without saying anything else after we gave her the drink order. It honestly seemed like she was upset/annoyed. She didnt even welcome us in. Not a good vibe for a place that is relatively pricy and especially not for celebrating a birthday. We ordered drinks and mine took around 30 minutes to come out only to be the incorrect drink order. I never expect an offer for a birthday dessert, but the table in front of us (different waitress) definitely got one and it had a little candle on it. I was pretty disappointed. We saw the waitress for the table near us (and other waiters) way more than we saw ours. The food was very good (I got the grilled branzino). Only slight complaints are the portion size is on the smaller side, and the hummus and greens were a bit salty. Overall, I want to give this place another shot, but not if we get the same waiter.

Nido has what is possibly the best view of Austin at dusk. Classy place with excellent interior decor and cocktails. The octopus carpaccio and watermelon salad were highlights. Service was professional and top notch, although I had to wonder why they dont have cordless tap payment in this day and age. Besides that, they were kind enough to accommodate for my birthday and brought me a cute pistachio cake, which was an epicurean delight. Great place for first dates or to take tourists like us.

+1: atmosphere +1: views +1: taste -2: slow service and food not together -1: value A good place to try one time but not worth coming to again. For what you pay, the portion size is laughably small and the food came out lukewarm. Not what I d expect for a supposedly fine dining restaurant. I was also requested at the end to add more to the tip despite the 20% gratuity added automatically to the bill, which was not insignificant. Stay classy. Food did not come out together for our party. So we had to wait for one person s food to arrive. Terrible Their restroom situation is also terrible with one small bathroom offered for men and women both, which adds up to only two stalls. Service was the slowest I have experienced. Food took almost 1 hr to come out. The restaurant didn t give us the bill for nearly another hour. We ended up going thru Rainey St. and seemed like our crew enjoyed the food there more. We had a fairly large party of 13 and they were not able to arrange our seating together which was unfortunate. Photos taken on iPhone 15. Follow salilojhamd for more of this.

WOW! This was hands down one of the best dining experiences Ive ever had. From the moment we arrived, I was more and more impressed. The restaurant has an amazing atmosphere and beautiful view. But even the gorgeous view of the sunset lake and full city skyline was nothing compared to the service and food. Our server, Carter, was unforgettable. He welcomed our table and made us feel special. His recommendations for foods were spot on every time; he was a skilled conductor leading us through a beautiful dinner. And as if that wasnt enough, at the end of the night, he handed us a hand written list of all of his favorite activities and places to go in Austin. He had heard us say that we were visiting for a short while and went out of his way to make our vacation even better. He was truly the spirit of hospitality, and if I am ever back in Austin you can be sure that I will be coming here again.

Nido s is definitely the place to go for any celebrations, special occasions, date nights or if you just want to splurge on yourself! We went to Nido s for Valentine s Day this year and here s my take on the experience: Reservations: Be sure to make reservations ahead of time! They book quickly and their waitlist can get long! Service: Hands down, the service was incredible! Our server did not skip a beat, and the food was appropriately served and timely. Service was neither too slow nor too fast, and our server made sure we were comfortable and had what we needed for an enjoyable experience. Food: the food was delectable (yes, I am using this word)!! I order the fish and my partner ordered the ravioli. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The fish was so well done: fluffy and not chewy at all. They also have zero-proof (non-alcoholic) wine which was great for me since I don t drink. I love restaurants who offer zero proof because I get to feel included in all the fun. Accessibility and Parking: The restaurant is located at the rooftop of a hotel (I forget the name), and valet parking is offered at $30 (tip not included). Overall, a beautiful experience. I highly recommend and cannot wait to try them again!

Last evening, my family and I had the pleasure of dining at Nido, one of the finest restaurants in Austin. Situated on the rooftop, the restaurant provides a stunning view of the city, and the ambiance is nothing short of very refined. From the moment we entered, we were greeted warmly by the staff, who extended a remarkable level of hospitality and professionalism, making us feel valued and appreciated. The cuisine we were served was a true feast for our senses. Each dish was meticulously crafted and presented, and the flavors were absolutely divine. We were seated in the outdoor section of the restaurant, where we enjoyed an enchanting view of the Austin skyline and the river flowing beneath. The weather was perfect, and the gentle breeze added to the already delightful experience. Our visit to Nido was nothing short of exceptional, and we would highly recommend it to anyone seeking an unparalleled dining experience. Regardless of whether you are a local or a visitor to Austin, this gem of a restaurant should not be missed. It is, without a doubt, worth the visit.

Was really looking forward to trying this place as I am staying in the hotel. Will be traveling a lot here for work as I just opened an Austin location. Took my employee there and the wait staff was horrible. No other way to put it. Never asked is if we wanted to order food - we had to let her know and she seemed annoyed and rushed. Gave no suggestions and didn t explain a thing. After we finished our apps I kid you not she never asked us if we like to order a meal. Whattt???? We had empty drinks forever and had to eye her down to get her to come over to ask for another. She then just brings us the check and doesn t even ask if we want another drink .SO BAD. You can t have expensiveish dining and that horrible of service, especially to a hotel guest. We never even got a smile. Might try it again maybe they will ask me if I want to order a meal next time and will treat me like an actual human being.

I m currently sick with food poisoning from Nido, specifically the chicken ravioli. The moment I tasted it, I knew it was not cooked right. It tasted awful and the carrots were very hard, it was a weird contrast with the rest of the dish. It is also just one ravioli that is the size of your palm, which would make sense if the dish was decadent, but the flavor profile was overwhelming and heavy. The dish is strange and needs to be rethought. The atmosphere is stunning and the service was great! Just wildly disappointed in the food, especially the rolls, I thought they would be better at a nice place like this but they were dry, room temperature and covered in salt. We also had to return a drink because the glass was dirty with Tajin.. and we had ordered a bourbon. It s like they never washed it? I hope Nido polishes up these details because it could be spectacular with the views, the beautiful interior and kind staff!

Extremely disappointed would be an understatement. My boyfriend booked us a dinner here over a month in advance for our first night in Austin - SPECIFICALLY for the out door dining experience and noted it in his reservation. Upon arrival we were told that we were seated in the formal dining room to which he asked if there was a good view. They sat us right next to a window and when we asked if there was any way to to move outside the hostess who had a very dry and unfriendly personality noted how all the tables were reserved but if they got a cancellation we be would be notified. We watched as other couples who came in after us got seated outside and their two reserved tables were EMPTY the entirety of our meal. The waitstaff was kind, checking in on us and their server was great but there wasn t much to do at that point. The dishes were delicious, although small and drinks were so yummy, although over priced. Because of the seating arrangement we decided not to order any more considering the whole reservation was for the out door seating and experience of the views.
