This place was AWESOME!! We rented the 4- piece room and there was plenty of room. The sound panels helped keep the noise level to a minimum. They also had an easy-to-use mixer on the wall to plug into with monitors on the floor so we could plug straight into the mix without needing to use extra amps. The staff was awesome and very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. I will DEFINITELY come back here to practice again!

I booked a rehearsal session here and both times the doors were either locked and the person was late opening the doors or no one came and it wasn t communicated. This is not professional. Great space for creatives of many types! I personally have only utilized the photography studio but it was such an amazing experience. Its a true Austin photo studio. Waveform has everything you need and more but also has that rugged/no-frills Austin vibe that I really appreciate. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodated our needs throughout our session time. The prices are unbeatable especially for bulk hours so definitely well worth the money. Its difficult these days to find a studio where Im not paying for the high overhead and frills that I dont really need. Their sound recording studios/band rehearsal spaces also looked very spacious and well thought out. Although I cant give any feedback to how those perform for musicians. Thanks again for a wonderful experience. I will definitely be back!

I play drums here in the drum room with headphones and ear muffs over them. I m really surprised and so glad this place exists. It s hourly drum room rental, they provide the drum set and it s a sound proof room with a/c cheap! All the good rehearsal studios in Austin have shutdown due to rent costs and this place is the last place a drummer can come and practice or just play drums for fun. It s a life saver for me and I appreciate their existence so much! It s a cool place with a good vibe and easy to reserve 2 hour blocks to play, in advance, on their website. Not many of these places left anywhere! Thanks for existing waveform, really!

Always wonderful to rehearse here, with comfortable and inexpensive rooms as well as great staff. Theres a well - supplied store in front, and they allow you to smoke in the rooms as well as being non invasive and discreet about your activities, provided that you dont make a mess or leave a bad smell. Rooms range from around $8 - $20 an hour depending on size. I typically pay about $60 for a 3 - 6 hour rehearsal depending on how much time I have and Whats available. Waveform provides a built-in PA system in every room, and theyre always willing to rent you extra equipment. Absolutely love this place, cant praise it enough. Will always use again.

First rehearsal was a great experience. Booked the roomy 5 piece room and got there early. Clean, comfy, and very simple design, with a separate climate control system in each room. Enjoyed the convenience of using a quality house kit, and the PA was a mixer on the wall with two beefy floor monitors. Each of the rooms is a separately constructed insulated vessel, and not masonite board lining a tiny room like some other places. Pricing is very fair, especially with bulk hour discount packages. Since no one booked the room after us, we were allowed [no, encouraged] to play past our allotted time! Looking forward to coming back and experimenting with the other spaces!

Went here with the band for our first practice outside of the livingroom. This place is excellent, and very well made. Had trouble with the p.a. but the employee helped us out right from the start. The drum set was a huge huge bonus and the rented bass amp was way better than ours. My ONLY complaint is that they dont have a discount for booking 4 practice sessions at a time. Id even book 8 at once (twice a week for a month) if I could get a discount. I guess well just buy one at a time. BRING WATER!! If we didnt bring some I think all of us would have died lol.

This place is awesome. They have a variety of high-end lights and a few props. You also get a variety of backdrops (solid, color, vinyl, tile). There is a changing area and a place to do make up in the photo studio which is incredubly convinient. You also get to control the music playing inside the studio which is pretty awesome. So far, it is the best photo studio I have ever rented. It is clean, lots of privacy and is very well maintained. Online scheduling and payment is also very convinient

The rehearsal rooms look and sound great, the equipment is well chosen and nicely maintained, and the staff is receptive, responsive, and friendly. Waveform is an environment purpose-built for creative endeavor, and Im happy to say it succeeds in its aim. I have used Waveform rehearsal rooms for three different music projects over the last 16 months. Having now used all three rooms, I can tell you they all sound great. Isolation from the other bands is also excellent...MUCH better than youll find at other rehearsal places in town. Because it is a smaller facility, you can always get good parking near the entrance. Everyone who works there has been totally cool and the owner, Sean, is very easy to work with.

Ive been using Waveform over the last month or so rehearsing for a gig in December. Ive used many rehearsal spaces in Austin and NYC over the years and this place is one of the best. If youre a drummer, this is THE place for you. I LOVE that they have drum sets in each room. Ive used both the 4 piece room (Gretsch set) and the 3 piece room (PDP set). Its so nice to just show up with cymbals and a bass drum pedal. Im ready before the guitarists are! Its really clean and comfortable. Its easy to schedule. Im all in. Theyve even got a drum room for solo practicing. I wont practice anywhere else.

Ive been going to Waveform for a little over a year now and I honestly dont like going anywhere else. I regularly use the drum room to practice and its been a huge blessing because theres nothing else like it in this city. The sound quality is unmatched and the effort that has gone into it and the whole place in general is remarkable. When I rehearse with bands the sound is the same unmatched quality in the rooms. I sometimes use the 5 piece studio because, as a drummer, I love the ludwig epic kit and the extremely clear bass acoustics in the room. But I also love the other rooms and all the different drum sets Im able to use. I always recommend Waveform to every musician I come in contact with if they are looking for a great rehearsal studio. The staff is incredible and personable and the experience has always been a good one.

Havent used the photo studio. As for the three music rehearsal spaces: Ive only been in Austin a couple of years, but rented spaces like that frequently during the years I lived in Japan. Waveform is clean, spacious, the AC is refreshingly cool. I am eager to see how the Winter months will feel. I am not a recording engineer, but all our practice recordings have come out just fine so far (Ive probably used Waveform 9 or 10 times). Ill definitely continue using them for our practice needs. Our band loves Waveform. Booking online is incredibly easy and the studio itself is exactly what you want. Nice rooms with good sound systems, great drum kits on hand, and a helpful and friendly staff. They always keep it clean and professional looking, but inviting - you actually enjoy being in the room for hours. Personal control of the A/C and fans help during long sessions. The soundproofing is excellent as well, you dont have to fight for volume with the band next door (you cant even hear other bands when youre playing). Had a great time at Waveform. The photography studio is something different all together. It had more than enough room to shoot and the einstein light modules are amazing and simple to work with. I personally enjoyed the atmosphere of the band rehearsing close by because it kept a nice energy level to the shoot and I was able to choose my own music to enhance the energy even more so. If you are lookign to shoot some great fun shots and meet some nice people then Id recommend waveform because everyone there, from the staff to the customers, just seemed to be happy.

What a gem this place is! I run a local ecom site and need to shoot for my site monthly. Waveform has been the perfect place for this. Its just the professional environment to bring clients to. They have a variety of equipment (all top of the line), several backdrop options, and a dressing/changing area for the models. They also provide you with speakers and an IPod just in case you are concerned about the noise factor from the band rooms. And truthfully when its on you dont notice the noise at all. For the price and value its an unbelievable find!

This city is chalked full of rehearsal room spaces that seem to work very hard at just getting by. Waveform Austin has not only raised the bar, theyve reinvented the entire experience. This multifaceted, multimedia rehearsal space and photography studio is geared toward the main desire of its clientele - CREATION. The rehearsal rooms are clean and uniquely designed with state of the art drum kits as well as an isolated drum room. The photography studio is spacious with features that include interchangeable backgrounds and a classic style dressing room. All of this is offered at very affordable pricing. Waveform photography studio is a great studio to bring clients, I personally used it about 15 times already and these are some of the ressons I keep coming back. It is the best deal for your money in austin, the rates are so low with certains packages that it is possible to shoot without being in a rush. Every time I go, I discover new lights, backgrounds, modifiers and props which I always take advantage of. The studio, restroom and halls are always clean which is important when bringing clients or models. The music can be customized, i.e. models and/or subjects can hook up their phones or MP3 players to listen to the music they like which makes the photo shoots better. There is always somebody ready to assist or help moving props and to answer any question you might have.

I started using Waveform in October 2012, when I needed a studio for the first time for a trade shoot. I shopped around, and settled on Waveform largely because of cost - for less than half the cost of most other studios in town, I get the same size room to shoot in, and often, *much* better lighting. In fact, I would say that Waveform has the best lighting of any studio in Austin that I have considered - at last count, there were 3 Einstein 640s, various grids, a couple of very large soft boxes, and a fairly standard beauty dish complete with a sock. Sean has recently added a ring light powered by an Alien Bees B800 too. There are also some unique backdrops, and a small number of props as well, including a futon, various flooring options, and a small selection of chairs. I have also been able to bring in my own props when needed, and the studio can accommodate quite a bit in the way of furniture and backdrops. Although the studio is often shared with others (its multi-use - band, drum, and photo), the photo studio is isolated, and privacy has never been an issue. There is a music system available, which allows you to either use their Pandora setup, or plug in your own device. Sweet! In addition, the staff has always been friendly and very helpful. The studio is very clean, and all of my models have been very impressed with the facility. Highly recommended!

Having rented all three of the different rehearsal studios at Waveform I couldnt be more impressed. Each room has a different sound and being a drummer I am a tough critic of house kits but the Gretsch is better than mine & I have a dw! The studios are always clean, the drums are tuned and the online scheduling is a breeze. Its a great place.
