I saw good reviews for this place and saw it made a best restaurants in Austin list. The service was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere cozy, and the food was amazing (I ordered the carbonara)! It was my birthday and they made the visit feel very special. I can tell they really care about service and their food. Will definitely come back when I m in Austin again and recommend to others. Thanks!!

Ive been going to Asti for almost two decades. Always amazing food. Linguini and little neck clams are always my dish but desserts are all also solid choices. Get the stuffed mushrooms too!! Every bottle of wine is hand selected and paired perfectly if you request. The service is the best. Dedicated to their craft and loving the food and wine. Please go. Its a lovely neighborhood restaurant with the best quality food and wine. You will walk out knowing everyones name as well. So lovely.

Some people might assume after over two decades in business, a restaurant may become stale. They could rest on the tried and true, deftly serving a loyal clientele favorite dishes, fine wines and sweet desserts. ASTI Trattoria has been in business since 2001. Forget stale: Their menu is innovative offering true Italian cuisine, some straight traditional and some with a little twist of new ingredients and presentation. Chef and owner Emmett Fox works in the front-facing portion of the kitchen line, making sure each dish looks beautiful before heading to the table. It also gives him the chance to greet guests and table check how the food tastes. We had two courses going with the Stuffed Mushrooms ($14) and the Burata Caprese ($16) as an antipasti and the Grilled Rainbow Trout ($27) and a pair of pastas for the Primo course. The mushrooms were stuffed with three cheeses - ricotta, goat and parmesan topped with bread crumbs and truffle oil. Six to an order. They go great with an opening cocktail. The trout is served with skin on and plated with an eggplant caponada (sweet and sour Sicilian version of ratatouille) and herbed fregola (small round pasta). Also served with a grilled half lemon you should squeeze it on the fish. Trust me it a really good idea and tastes different than a raw lemon. Our waiter Mitch did a fantastic job all night. I had a hard time deciding between the Seafood Risotto ($36) and the Saffron Spaghetti Carbonara ($21). Apparently I am not the only one who had a hard time choosing. As a result, he explained that ASTI offers half portions for half price. Problem solved. Note: The prices listed for pasta are for full portions. ASTIs carbonara is as authentic and delicious as any you will find in bistro in Rome. They use real guanciale, not bacon or even pancetta. NO cream, and mixed with pepper, egg and parmesan cheese for that salty, creamy flavor. When I return, its a full portion for me. I equally love risotto, particularly when it is made properly. It takes time and attention. For those who cook it at home, you know what I mean. Topped with clams, mussles, shrimp and calamari. The full portion is the most expensive dish on the menu...worth every penny. Seriously, if love Italian seafood dishes you must try their version. Getting long winded, so hop on line and make reservations as soon as possible. You need to put this on your places to visit. One trip and youll be hooked. Grazie al cuoco!

Asti is your quintessential local neighborhood restaurant, not only is the food delicious- I frequently think about the fungi pizza with caramelized onions- but everyone has been so friendly. You can tell this is a place that is loved by locals for good reason, and Im so lucky to happen to work right next to them.

I ve been here three times now and everytime it blows my expectations out of the water. Tonight I had another great experience but this time I had a miscommunication with my server while ordering and ended up with the wrong dish. The manager brought a replacement to my table within 5 minutes and was wildly apologetic and friendly eventhough it was 100% my bad. Between their servers and mgmt team, you are in good hands at Asti. I love this place.

I have to question the authenticity of the positive reviews. The food was disappointing, it is the worst dishes I ve had in Austin. Additionally, there was an unpleasant odor, reminiscent of something rotten. The ambiance was also lacking, with the decor resembling a dated fast food restaurant, but not in a good way. On a positive note, the service was good, and the staff were quite nice. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience.

ASTI Trattoria is a hidden gem in the suburbs of Austin, TX! I had the privilege of recently dining at ASTI. Due to dietary restrictions, I called in advance and spoke with Randi, one of the owners. She was friendly and patient with me on the phone, and gave me the confidence we were making the right choice in restaurants. What added to the mix was it was a birthday dinner, and I wanted to get it right. I can tell you the dining experience was even better than I could have hoped for or imagined. We trusted ASTIs team with a modified menu, tailored towards our needs, and the results were beyond outstanding. It is quite evident that Randi, Chris and the ASTI team take a great deal of pride in not only what they put on plates, but how they go about doing it. We couldnt have been happier, and I recommend ASTI to anyone in the Austin area who wants a quality and friendly dining experience. If Google would allow a ten-star rating, then I would give Asti ten stars. Thanks for reading this and I hope you enjoy your ASTI experience! Vegetarian options: ASTI caters to those who avoid gluten, dairy, meat, alliums, etc. They are super accommodating and make you feel extremely welcome. Tried ASTI Trattoria for the first time for my birthday dinner. I had high hopes for this place. Honestly the food was okay. I had a part of my pasta that was chunked together in a clump. The pasta did not have that much flavor tasted like any other pasta I could make at home with pasta sauce. The chicken was also okay. I liked the focaccia one of the better items. The dessert was also okay. Nothing special in my opinion. They should add more flavor to their dishes and add more of an exciting factor.

The place has tasty food. I really did enjoy the lasagna. The meat was excellent. The lasagna is 3 pinwheels instead of the usual rectangular scheme. I was not impressed with the calamari. The breading was too moist and loose -- could have been crisper. The aeoili it was paired with was forgettable. The special appetizer of the night (bruscheta) was literally just piped marscapone cheese on a grilled peice of bread with sliced cherry tomatoes and a balsamic glaze -- also forgettable. I love traditional bruscheta. This was not tasty or even indicative of bruscheta. My friend had the carbonara which he really liked and I do agree with him. The guancali was excellent. For dessert I had the ricotta Brule. Absolutely recommend. It was delicious. Overall 4 stars. They do some things especially well. The lasagna was expensive at around 30 dollars and the carbonara was 20. I just wouldnt be eating here often due to price, While I would frequent artipasta.

In town for business and decided to try Asti Trattoria for dinner on a week day. I made the reservation for 7 PM. When we arrived, we were greeted and seated immediately. The place seemed to have a musky smell. It seemed the air was not working to its full capacity. Next to the funky smell, everything else was very good. Our waiter was very attentive to all our needs and requests. Now the best part...the food. On point all around. Calamari was fried perfectly. The linguine with clam was prepared el dente. I m always on the hunt for authentic tasting Italian food since it s my absolute favorite cuisine - I find that this often leads me to fancy, overpriced experiences with subpar food or tiny portions. Asti Trattoria is an unassuming neighborhood restaurant that was refreshing to visit after so many of these encounters. Moderately tasty, and significantly overpriced Italian fare. $32 for lasagna? Veramente!?! Our server was polite and courteous, but the pasta took over 45 minutes to arrive after we ordered it and half an hour after our salad - pacing was significantly off, to say the least. And then we had to wait an additional 10 mins for said overpriced lasagna. My son told the server that he did not eat pork, and his pasta was covered in, you guessed it, pork. House red wine was late, and it should have never come since Ive candidly had better from wine in a box. Thankfully, they were gracious enough to take the wine off the bill. When we raised our concern with the manager, we got a quizzical, blank I do not really care look. Outside seating in wooden, uncomfortable picnic tables is not commensurate with dishes that are $25 plus. Its a pity since weve been going to Asti for many years, but no more.

Jennifer was our server recently, and her professionalism, wit and charm added so much to our evening. The atmosphere is always so welcoming, but great service and ambiance can only go so far if the meal is average. Alas, our meal was outstanding. We started with the mussels, then we both ordered seafood entrees. Everything was stellar! Jennifer offered two samples of white wine to pair with our meal, which was a lovely gesture, as well as the complimentary biscotti after our meal. We had no room for dessert. Customer service is really good, and the outside seating is really nice. I would say the dishes I had were a bit better than average. The spaghetti carbonara was very nice, home made noodles, sauce was very light with bacon, all it was missing was an egg, that would make the dish a killer. The chicken parm was good, breaded nicely and they use fresh chicken breasts. The angel hair like tomato pasta was even more plain than the carbonara, just tart, the sauce could use either some butter or olive oil to give it some flavor. Prices are a bit high for me, would i come here again? I would, but I would not go out if my way. Give it a try if you are in the area.

I enjoyed the vibes. Its a nice local spot that seems to have regulars so I was optimistic. The gentleman next to us said he comes here weekly with his wife. I became more optimistic. Met our waiter. Mitchell (or was it Mitch?) was slow and not really that attentive. We ordered around 750-755.... he messed up and somehow our food wasnt put in so he brought me and my friends (2 people) HALF a glass of bubbles and a white bean dip on the house @830! My friends got their Cesar salad at the same time... my stuffed mushrooms? Yeaaaa that didnt arrive till my friends were already done with their salads. The stuffed mushrooms were a 6/10. We didnt get our main courses till 9pm. Our food was significantly slower at coming out than the main courses of larger parties around us. Some tables sat after us and left even before we got our entrees. But alas, the food is here. Maybe my frustration is rooted in my hanger. Unfortunately my optimism was not rewarded as the chicken parm I got was the bland. Almost had no flavor. I was hungry so I ate it all. I wont be back. Cant say there was anything about the place that I enjoyed and would being me back for a chance kf redemption.

Disappointed. I have to say this used to be one of our favorite little spots. Due to life it had been awhile. When we saw they added to their patio we decided to take the puppy and enjoy the beautiful evening. Boy have things changed. The Linguini and clams used to be my go to. We waited over 25 mins for our food just for me to receive a plate of under seasoned dried noodles and over cooked cold clams thrown on top. It s like they had the clams pre-cooked and set aside just to throw on top. After leaving an hour later I felt nauseous and let s just say it got worse. Their focaccia bread used to be out of this world but even that seemed to be off. The beets we received on our salad were old as well. My partners dish was the only thing really shall I say edible and even that wasn t the best. I m hoping it was a fluke but let s just say it will be awhile before we go back and try again. Too bad because we love to support locally.

Asti Trattoria, Ive been here before and its a solid neighborhood spot. Theyve been here for a minute and its worth a try. Tonight was a special night which Ill talk about a little bit more later after we talk about the food. 1st our servers name was Mitch, he was fantastic. He was all over the place, had many tables but hed kept good tabs on us, and took care of us make. He made great recommendations, we really enjoyed his company. We started with the fired artichokes and they are very lightly fried and were good, the lemon aoli it came with was amazing. Our salad was decent, but the entrees overall were a hit and a miss. My Love and I ordered the special, which was this giant meatball served over polenta and red sauce, pomodoro. The meatball honestly was not good, Im a little bit of a meatball fanatic and I love good meatballs and this one honestly was chewy and not well executed but the polenta was fantastic. J had the lasagna and it was good, not great and B ordered the lamb Ragu, she loved how much lamb was on the pasta both were good no complaints. This was a special night, as it was the 1st time I got to meet my loves mom, B. It was fun we got to talk and tell funny stories it was really great to part of this moment. Thank you my love, for inviting me into your world. You are my sun and I your moon!

Cant believe I waited so long to try and reluctant to post about this hidden gem! I was able to reserve a table seamlessly at the last minute, and the dining experience from start to finish was exceptional. Except for the novel Old Italia music permeating the patio. I reccommend the seasonal offerings, but the standard menu provides many stalwart options for meat and veg alike. We really enjoyed the perfectly balance and textured greenbean sala, and the pasta and beet ravioli were perfection. Vegetarian options: So many fresh options. The red and golden beet ravioli is to die for. Kid-friendliness: There were lots of families. The kids seem to love the breadsticks and protein options.

I was SO impressed by this little neighborhood Italian place. Every thing we had was phenomenal. The two tables next to us were regulars and each raved about their favorite dishes; lasagna and the cannoli. We had a lot of different dishes and cant wait to come back and try the rest of the menu. Service was outstanding, thanks Mitch! And the owner was working the expo line to ensure quality of each dish delivered. He was friendly and accommodating. Be sure to grab a bag of biscotti for your morning coffee!

Our NYE dinner at Asti was disappointing. Despite being a customer there for nearly 20 years, they seated us at a tiny table right next to the front door, which was -as expected- extremely noisy & busy - absolutely *not* the relaxing quality meal experience wed anticipated. The server was friendly & stuffed mushroom appetizer was delicious but the salmon did not seem fresh, I could smell the plate of fish before it even arrived at our table and the pasta with veggies was boring - like Spaghetti-Os. Sadly, it was a pricey disappointment.

This wasn t my first time here, but the service me and boyfriend got from Randi was so impressive! She was so passionate and knowledgeable about the food and explained each thing in great detail. We got the fried burrata (10/10) still thinking about them lol and the meatballs (10/10) to start. I loved that they do half portions of their entrees and half price them! I got the Seafood Rissoto (7/10) the shrimp tasted off unfortunately, but the the risotto was perfect. My boyfriend got the Lamb Sugo (10/10) and said it s the best meal he s had in a long time and we dine out a lot!

Not terrible but definitely not as good as we expected. - The restaurant is at a nice location. Looks comfy and well decorated inside. - Spinach Cassarecce was actually pretty tasty. Creamy and the artichokes gave it a unique taste. Best thing we had by far. - Domaine de la Denante 20 / Macon Chardonnay was a really good wine recommendation although a little pricey at $15 a glass. - Semolina Fried Rhode Island Calamari were straight up bad, not crunchy at all from the outside and really chewy on the inside. Felt like they straight up friend frozen calamari. Probably one of the worst calamari we ve ever had. - Their signature bread was good but too salty. - The Linguine & Littleneck Clams had a nice taste but was super watery. - There were a couple of flies going around the tables in the back. Really makes you hard to imagine that you re eating at a high end restaurant. - The check came out to a little over $100 for two entrés, one appetizer and two glasses of wine. Price was expected but you can easily eat at a better place for that amount.

I had a great time, staff was attentive, food was good. The breadsticks they brought us as appetizer were stale enough to make croutons out of. Had a very odd experience in that I had the sensation that the place was trying very hard to fool me into thinking it was a fine dining place and was failing in that illusion, but I cant name any specific thing that it did even halfway badly except the stale bread.
