The trails need maintenance. Lots of overgrowth and poison ivy. In some places signage didnt seem to correspond to the map, but that could have been because some trails were so overgrown it wasnt clear if they were designated trails or not. Lots of native plants, some nice views of the cliffs, and the water can be very pretty.

The trials that we traveled on were not very nice. There was graffiti on every trail marker. There was doggie poop bags tied to trees. There were paths that were worn down but not actual trails.

WARNING: Unfortunately, we decided not to go in there and see any trails. There was a car with the window broken in the small parking lot. It is AMAZING the quantity of broken glass on the floor in each parking spot, it looks like break ins are happening daily. Dont go to this place and dont leave you car there until APD catches this person that is doing this! Parking: Parking is extremely DANGEROUS! Someone will break in to your car FOR SURE! DONT TAKE ANY CHANCES!

Great place, really beautiful sights and a great river with swimming holes running alongside it that you can take a dip in. Usually not that busy, but if it is everyone is usually super friendly. That being said, there s a big problem with car break-ins here. Don t leave any valuables in the car is my recommendation, or better yet, try to get an Uber or just bike over here. You run a small but sizeable risk of having a window smashed if you go here. Dog-friendliness: Super friendly to dogs, including the swimming holes, though there can be broken glass on the floor so just watch out.

My girlfriend and I stopped by to hike and see the waterfall and while gone our car was broken into in under 30 minutes in broad daylight. The visibility is hidden, no cameras in the area, and even evidence of other break-ins with window glass located in the location of parking. Personally would not consider this a good place to hike due to the inability to keep your car or anything in your car from being stolen.

It s a beautiful park, but please keep your windows rolled down and don t leave anything of value in your car. I ve been coming here since I was a child and peoples cars have gotten broken into in this parking lot before - often. Finally happened to me and 3 others. Didn t even take anything. Now we have a damaged window to repair. Just be smart and keep nothing in your car. Roll the windows down.

This is a fun, rambling park thats mostly wooded, has a few meadows, and a creek running along one side. The trees provide shade from the heat, but the dirt trails can also get muddy if it has rained. Watch out for snakes and come early due to the very limited parking. I find the trail good for shaded running, with its subtle changes in incline, and occasional rocks, roots, and mud to negotiate.

WARNING to those hiking here. The parking lots are the subject of very frequent smash-and-grabs. Youll see shattered glass all over the parking lot. I havent had it happen to me, but my sister lives in the area and is always finding bags and stuff on the side of the road and tries to contact the owners if theres any ID. The thieves only seem to take money and the rest they throw out the window as they are driving down the road. Police have been contacted constantly and have so far refused to do anything about it - they put up a camera for a couple months and the break-ins slowed down briefly, but then they took the camera away and the parking lot is once again covered in glass. If you must go, Id recommend making sure that there is nothing at all of value in the car and no bags visible.

Yesterday 5/28, my sons car was broken into along with a slew of others while visiting the park. If youre planning on going there (which I would not advise) lock everything in your trunk. On the upside, the Travis County Sherriff Officer that came out to help was very helpful. Thieves made off with his fiancés purse, phone, my sons wallet. Thieves then took the debit cards, went to Target and purchased gift cards for nearly 500 dollars. In short, dont go.

WARNING: Car break-ins are frequent. Theres a sign that says so, and the car parked next to mine got their windows smashed when I returned from the trail (the owner said they didnt even have anything in the car so the windows were just smashed for no reason). We looked around and found that the parking lot is covered in broken auto glass EVERYWHERE. I wouldnt come here, its just not worth the risk. Aside from feeling super lucky since Im just visiting with a rental car, I had a good time here jogging through the woods and enjoying some intimate nature Friday evening. In April, everything is overgrown and youll be brushing your legs against vegetation on some trails and running through some swarms of bugs, but I dont mind. Definitely wont be coming back again though...

This is a beautiful place with easy hiking, waterfalls, and native trees. The honeysuckle bushes smelled heavenly! We loved it until we got back to our car and found our window broken out. Our daughters bag was stolen with her pain medication from her recent surgery. Fortunately, a good Samaritan found her keys and Rx that afternoon and made contact with her to return them. As we were cleaning up the glass from our window, we found another smashed window in the trash can. Be wary of this site!!! Parking: Small parking lot. More spots down the road by a picnic spot. Thats where our car was broken into. Fees: Free-- There are a couple of swimming holes in the creeks. Toilets: No restrooms Dog-friendliness: Dogs allowed.

Beautiful place to spend some time with family, friends, or even alone, to hike, swim, walk or picnic. The forest is large from what I saw, with several trails. I loved the little waterfall but the more the water stagnates, the more insects there are, which is normal. The parking lot is small, we had no trouble finding a space but Im not sure this will be the case in high season.

A wonderful creek park in Austin with fun trails! Parking: The lot can hold about 20 cars (if parked efficiently). Finding a space can be a challenge if you visit later in the day on a weekend. There are still shards of glass from what I understand were multiple car break-ins from just a few months ago. We visited on a Sunday morning and all the cars in the lot seemed fine when we arrived and when we left. Definitely follow the Lock-Take-Hide car parking guidelines and do not leave anything valuable/not in sight. Dogs: Allowed on leash, although we met a few off-leash dogs as well (so hold your pups on a short leash if they are not always friendly). Trails: Clean, fun trails, well maintained although there are a fair number of protruding branches along the mainly rocky/gravelled paths. There are many sections which can get muddy during/after rains. You can choose from several trails, or create your own route with a mix - yellow, green, brown, blue. The green trail was most fun with two creek crossings (one is by the road, the other over a section of slightly mossy rocks in the stream). A great way to spend the morning with friends/family/kids/dogs! Parking: Around 15-20 spaces in the car park lot. Toilets: No restrooms

This deserves NO STARS Do NOT park your car here! We were broken into & windows busted out while on vacation June 2022. This happens daily from what I have read & looking at the parking lot the broken sheets of glass covers the entire parking lot. Austin Police report is in action. However they sadly never showed up at the time this happened. Drive to Barton Springs it s safe & beautiful

Didn t give the trails a chance. Parking lot has way too much broken car window glass to feel comfortable parking here for a hike. Plenty of other parks to choose from.

Don t go there. Many cars have been broken into and so was mine. The trails are nice but it s not worth the trouble of having your window broken.

this was a beautiful hiking spot with a beautiful waterfall but came back to the car passenger window smashed in and my purse gone. there was glass all over the parking lot so this seems to be a common occurrence. i would suggest not coming here or possibly taking an uber/lyft to avoid this same situation.

Cons: Vague trail directions. Busy, so we didnt get to see the part of the waterfall we wanted to. Too many lovers lingered there for too long and we didnt want to be cøckblockers. The trail is a little overgrown and needs a good chopping. Car break-ins in the parking lot are real. Im not sure what time of day the dirty theives are out but leave your valuables in your hotel room. Pros: really beautiful trails along the river! Lots of wildlife we dont get to see regularly! Not a lot of ups and downs but there are some rocky parts in the beginning.

Its a great spot but I wish people wouldnt sit less than 10 feet away from me when there is almost no one here seriously I was here first... There are so many other spots they could have set in!? Also they sat right in the main walk way

My truck was broken into in broad daylight just 5 min. after we parked. They smashed both passenger-side windows, stole my wifes purse and several other valuables. Police said this happens all the time at St. Eds, and has picked up since the defund the police movement. I would avoid this park if you have a nice vehicle that you dont want to deal with replacing your windows!

This place has more to see, experience, and most importantly to have quite fun time in nature. This is just an awesome place. I still can t imagine this is inside a big freaking town.

My absolute favorite trail in Austin. Ive been running trails here with my pups for 9 years (these photos are from that time span). Lots of swimming holes and many trailhead options for every level. If you cross the creek you have lots of different options for your incline running and hiking to challenge yourself. Plenty of little waterfalls and fish. Ive never had a problem with running into blue algea but always check the local testing for the Bull Creek water if you plan on taking your dogs for a swim. Its very busy on the weekends and parking spills onto the side of the road. The upper trail above the creek is not a mountain bike trail unless maybe you are extreme lol. Ive seen cyclists having to walk their bikes because of the steep climbs. Theres also a bird reserve at the very top with an extended trail inside that seems to be a few miles. And please please if you are bringing food and drink bring a trash bag and pick up after yourself. There is a trash station in the parking lot and its not that far from the creek.

As with many many many reviews here, we also had a terrible experience of our friend s car break-in!! You can hide the stuff and try to prevent the break in. But why even take the risk!? Better to visit one of the many other great hikes in Austin
