We went at kind of a busy time so that dampened the atmosphere, not a huge deal I just dont like being sat at a table thats in the middle of the floor in a bright room (doesnt fit my idea of a Mexican Restaurant). Server was OK, he was about 8 feet tall and when he took our order he didnt kneel down to get closer to us. Thus leaving his weist line in our faces. He also wasnt very responsive to bus the table while we were dining. He was very nice though. As for the food. It was great, our whole table was very happy with the food.

Aubrey was our server, and she was absolutely phenomenal. She was fun to interact with, and she really took care of us. She made sure our drinks and salsas stayed full, and was in such a pleasant mood and had a great sense of humor. By far the best service we ve experienced at Jorge s!

7.29.24 Visit for dinner. Friendly staff. Chips were a little thicker than most places and were good along with the hot sauce. Started with half order of beef/bean cheese nachos. Toppings were loaded and almost a meal alone. Combo fajitas for one, meal was good. Beef was a little tough, and chicken was good but not as flavorful as other places. All in it was a pleasant experience and recommend just not highly recommended.

My family and I went to Jorge s this past Sunday. We had gone in the past and had a very unpleasant experience but decided we d give it another shot and I m glad we did. There was around 15 of us and it was extremely busy. I want to start of by saying that the staff is great. Our server I believe her name is Jessica (the girl with long blonde hair and glasses) did an outstanding job. She s a very sweet girl with great energy and did amazing with our picky guests. She was fast and very accommodating. The food however is ok. I had the carne asada, there could have been more meat, my wife had the sour cream poblano enchiladas- the sauce could use some seasoning and spice. However our crowd was very pleased, and we will definitely be going back.

Jorge s is the BEST! There are many Mexican food restaurants in the Amarillo/Canyon area, but Jorge s consistently has the best food, service, drinks, and atmosphere! Brandon is an amazing waiter very observant, always smiling, we never have to ask for a thing because he is always one step ahead. The food is decadent highly recommend the lunch enchiladas, beef fajitas, white queso, and hard shell tacos! Drinks are wonderful coldest beers and tastiest margaritas in town! Jorge is a great host who genuinely cares about his customers and their experience in his restaurant! Run, don t walk, to the best Mexican experience in the Panhandle!!!

My mom and I went there. We were waited on by a young man named Malachi (not sure of the spelling) I would have been proud to have as my son if I had been blessed with children. He had a great personality. He was very polite and respectful but had a great sense of humor. He didn t check on us too much but just the right amount. The food is always good there but the last time we were there we had the worst waiter I ve ever had anywhere which is highly unusual for Jorge s. Malachi was a breath of fresh air!

I have never felt so singled out and disrespected in my life. Myself and two of my friends were passing through and heard this was a nice and welcoming restaurant they sat us at a table. We ordered Queso and we re not aware there were different kinds we asked if it could be removed from the table because we weren t going to eat it our waiter said no i can t take something after i ve put it on the table we said alright and let it be. She nor the manager checked on our table but checked on every table around us. We will not be going back and i recommend going somewhere else as the service and atmosphere was just down right awful stay safe and i hope you find a restaurant more respectful.

***DO NOT RECOMMEND*** Update: Still no contact from the owner(s). Im at over 2Million for my reviews. What a disgusting way to treat long time customers who used to pack their guest room with family. Again, I dont recommend this place. Avoid it at all cost and head to Pepitos!! Better food, better service, better owner! They care about their customers unlike this place. Original: I have over a million, almost 2M reviews on Google. I literally get paid to review places and people there. Heres my review of Jorges Mexican Bar & Grill , Amarillo, Texas I was here today to celebrate my daughters senior year lunch. Our sever Alex was rude all through the meal. She failed to bring requested items and treated us like a problem from the start. In the end she didnt bother asking us if we wanted anything else, and placed the receipt in on the table. I explained to her I was waiting on the items requested listed below, and told the kids we wouldnt be getting dessert because we had the check already. I picked up the receipt, and moved it away from the place she set it and to a place close to my personal self getting ready to finish my meal and pay. Even though we werent even half done eating. Alex reached around me, and snatched the receipt from under a bowl I was eating out of. I stood up, in shock, and told her not to do that again. She literally reached around my physical person crumpled up the check and handed it back to me. Extremely rude of her to reach around ppl and crumple up the receipt I already reviewed. Alex did not refill drinks, offer napkins, or bring plates with the appetizer. No to go boxes offered. Just horribly rude compared to what Jorges is known for. She completely ruined our celebration with her bad attitude and poor service. The manager Fernando was unreasonable, escalated, and did not make a reasonable choice in this deal. He literally just said leave without even talking to me about Alexs behavior. The other woman Martha that met us on the way out did listen but just said she would check the cameras. I asked her if the crumpled receipt was how they did business. She said no and looked disgusted. The staff called me a liar and made this a bigger issue than it needed to be. Fernando even tried to argue with a child. Just disgusting behavior all the way around. I do not recommend this establishment any longer as the staff has become extremely rude. They would rather customers leave than solve the issues their employees have. I asked for the owner but was told he was out for the day. I predict Alex wont last long anywhere with her behavior. The longer they enable it the more this establishment will dwindle. DO NOT RECOMMEND Attempted to contact the owner for the last 5 days - never available for a conversation.

Our first time here, our last time here. Sure the kitchen or server got our order wrong but we were in no hurry and stuff happens. I ve been in the industry for decades and that s forgivable. What s not forgivable was the two chicken dishes. The enchiladas verdes had under seasoned boiled chicken inside and that s it- corn tortilla covered in sauce. No cheese, no onion, peppers nada! So odd. Canned beans and some over cooked cafeteria rice completed the plate. Chicken fajitas fared a bit better - but why are you par cooking the chicken and holding it? So dry I couldn t masticate a few bites. Onion and green peppers in the dish, (thank you) but no sauce no seasoning. I d love to introduce you to some - olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, paprika, ancho powder, cayenne, onion powder, oregano, brown sugar, cumin, salt and pepper, red pepper flakes! Awe, wanted to find a new regular spot. Have to keep searching. +++ In all fairness the tiny cup of bacon beans was delicious.

If there is one thing Amarillo has a lot of, it is Tex-Mex restaurants. If you like this style of food, you won t starve here. The only issue is that many of them are so similar as to be nearly indistinguishable. It s almost as if they could have a stock menu shared between them, the only difference being the name on it. And yet I like Jorge s about the most of the many similar competitors here. While the offerings are certainly not all that different or unique, I can always count on Jorge s to serve a fine dish of Tex-Mex standards. Consistency is the key here. On the night I last visited, I found myself in search of a late dinner. This was late enough that kitchens start shutting down, yet Jorge s was still very much open and willing to serve. I ordered veggie fajitas which I did not find on the menu, but my server was happy to accommodate. The service was lightning fast and friendly. It s hard for basic Tex-Mex establishments to distinguish themselves in food, because it all begins to look the same. But consistent quality and excellent service push Jorge s to the top of my list when considering this style of food. Vegetarian options: It doesn t take much creativity to order vegetarian, but if you are vegan, veggie fajitas are probably what you will be ordering.

Wife had Chicken Fajitas, which was WAY more than she could eat, but she enjoyed them. I had the Carne Guisada, which was delicious, and also a large meal. Their chips and salsa probably added to the difficulty in finishing our meals, but they were also great. This is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants to go to, but its best if you are really hungry. Parking: Plenty of parking, though if they are really busy, it might be easier to park in the large lot next to them... It just adds from 5 to 20 yards of extra walking, which you might need after their large portions in your meal.

Called to try and set up a reservation. We had a table of 12-13 people so wanted to make sure they could accommodate that. The gentleman on the phone said they do not do reservations. I told him that was fine. But wanted to make sure at prime dinner time (around 7:30 on a Saturday) they would be able to handle a table that size without issue. He just continued to remind me they do not make reservations. He then told me that we were welcome to come in and wait but most likely will be waiting over an hour. Which I assume with a table that size would be longer if they are not prepared for it. We usually like Jorges but the customer service and attitude that represented that we dont need your business was a huge disappointment.

Ive known Jorge since he was bussing tables at Santa Fe Mexican Restaurant. He has done a better job than anyone I know building a restaurant with great food and great service. Anything I have tried on the menu has been top notch. Great people and a great restaurant!

Very bad experience. To start off when you immediately walk in the door there was other peoples cards, and change just freely sitting out in the open. Then when you get seated good service however the issue comes in when after you order our waitress had nothing to do with us she dropped the food no refills, no napkins, no plates. When we finally saw her again it was to bring the check not even 15 minutes later then when we asked if we could get the limes and napkins and refills she began getting attitude that is when we decided that apparently dessert was not going to be a thing and we where talking about it so she came around the table and crumpled up the receipt. Then when you try to say something the manager wants to say it never happened and that we just need to leave. Will not be returning.

worst customer service instead of actually fixing your orders the manager would just yelled at you!!! go to the restaurant make sure be prepared to get whatever they end up giving you since they won t fix nothing!!! worst customer service! never coming back spending $30 in a meal not worth it had to tell manager to let me talked and not yell at me! i would understand if someone would be rude to them but not when you re not! not even worth the star !

This was great! I ended up getting the chicken & steak fajitas! The steak was great, would do just steak next time! They serve chips and salsa! Also was very cool that they prepare guac right in front of you! Flour tortillas tasted fresh! Would recommend if you are in the area craving tex-mex!
