This is an expensive high end hip place. We dont live here, but we ate here a year and a half ago and the surf and turf dish was out of this world. Since then weve been trying to get back to the restaurant to enjoy the flavor more. We went here today and the surf and turf was not as good as it was the first time. They put salmon with beef and I didnt think the flavors went well together. I would not serve salmon and beef. Also for the price of the dish the meat I got was funky and I would have expected a very beautiful lean filet mignon. The tortellini was a bit overcooked and I definitely did not like the andouille sausage with the other flavors. Other people at my table liked their dishes which included the filet mignon, the chicken fried steak, the ribeye, and several appetizers. The pumpkin cake dessert was absolutely delicious. The service was good, but way too slow. So, even though I had a bit of disappointment personally, my table was happy and we had a good time, so I will be back.

Ate here with my wife for my birthday to try yet another nice place in Amarillo. To start off, we had the Lamb Chops Egg Rolls and Pig Candy. For our entrees, my wife had the Beef Filet At Poivre and I tried the Seared Organic Elk Tenderloin. I have tried the Elk at at Public House and was recommended by many friends that the Elk was good. What I can say is that they are right. The Elk by far is the best Elk that I have ever tasted. The meat did not have any of the gamey taste that is normal to deer, elk and other forest animals. The sides that came with both entrees were quite delicious especially with the sauce. Overall, I think OHMS is a really good restaurant and will definitely come back to eat again. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to our table. We had Kendra and she was a great waitress.

Awful ! Fish not fresh sent mine back was ice cold in the middle. They refused to fix my meal. Didn t want it comp but come on don t be lazy. Bar staff counts out loud the number of drinks folks at the bar ordered. Atmosphere bad 80s vibe. Don t recommend.

Charged us a $30 cakeage (fee on desert brought from outside the resturaunt) when my senile grandfather (who fought in Vietnam) passed out a few mini cakes after our meal because it was my birthday. The waitress pretended to be apologetic and informed us that there was a desert fee and states that we should have been told during the time of our reservation. She really hated to do this, even though she was the only staff we saw or spoke to who could have added it to the tab. No additional silverware or plates were requested and no additional trash was left by us, the majority of the personal cakes were just taken home... Really sad ending to such a good meal and a really sad ending to my birthday. I have been a patron here since I turned 18 a decade ago and I will not be back.

Wow. An amazing restaurant that is a must have when in downtown Amarillo. Try the Elk as it is easily the best in town and probably 300 miles. The Rib-eye is king and you cannot miss here. Cameron was our server and treated us with utmost respect and service. Definitely DO NOT skip this place when looking for a premier dining experience.

If youve spent any time in Amarillo, you know that O.H.M.S Cafe & Bar is fine dining and signature drinks at their best. The atmosphere, the service, the menu options, the desserts, and drinks are all top notch. We met a couple of friends from Dallas there, and we had the best time. Our waiter Cameron, aka Cam-Dizzle, aka Dizzle, was THE best waiter Ive ever had in my life. Wed eaten prior to coming, but we were there for drinks and desserts and Cam was on the spot with great recommendations. The Smores Cheesecake was lovely. The Crème Brûlée was amazing, and the butterfinger ice cream was good to the last bite. We highly recommend O.H.M.S. and Cameron in particular. Great stuff.

My wife and I were excited to try this place after one of my best friends from Amarillo suggested it. I am sorry to say that we were thoroughly disappointed. It has been two hours since we finished dinner, and I am still unable to remove the salt taste from my mouth. We ordered broccolini tempura as an appetizer, at the recommendation of our waiter. It was cooked perfectly, but the sauce just tasted like salt (and we are not afraid of salt generous in our cooking), but this was terrible and inedible. Then we waited 50 minutes for the entrée to come out. We ordered the pork chop and macaroni the pork chop was like rubber and the macaroni had no taste. When the bill came, I politely mentioned my feedback with the waiter. He was apologetic and said he would get a manger. Several minutes later the pastry chef came over and told me the manager was too busy and that 30 people had ordered the broccolini tonight without issue. I ve eaten at a lot a great restaurants all over the world and this is definitely not one of them. I m mostly just confused how this place has such high ratings? If you appreciate good food and service, this is not your place.

We absolutely loved our dinner at OHMS. We were visiting Amarillo for a couple of days and staying at the Barfield downtown. I researched dinner spots and this place seemed to be the best choice. It was exactly the right choice. I called about two weeks ahead and was able to get reservations at the time we wanted. We started with cocktails. They were both good but the bourbon old fashioned was better than the gin cocktail. And the old fashioned here was better than a similar drink at the Paramount Recreation Club next door, the Speakeasy in the basement of the Barfield that you gain entry by buying Paramount cigarettes from an antique machine (suddenly the door behind you opens and voila youre in). Back to the main story... For appetizer we shared a special of the night, the crab cakes. They were perfectly seared and they were bursting with crabmeat. Spiced just right. And the accompanying sauce, we wanted to lick the plate clean. They were really good. For the mains, one of us had Elk and the other had Chicken. The Elk, recommended medium rare, was oh so tender and moist. The local mushrooms that accompanied were worthy of their own dish. The risotto at the bottom was also good. Unfortunately the photo doesnt show a dish as delicious as it was. We were surprised a little that the Elk wasnt more gamey tasting. Its not a bad thing, just was a surprise. The chicken was also outstanding. Crunchy and moist. The asparagus was firm but tender, and the mashed potatoes were excellent. I must say it could have used a little more gravy as all that gravy was gone a bit before the chicken was. But then i am a sauce guy. No room for dessert. Would love to visit for dinner again!

the host was confused as if she didn t know where to seat us, although we made reservations. That was weird, and then they proceeded to sit us at the back of the restaurant in a very small cramped room. I know the restaurant is small so this was okay, but our waitress was extremely slow the entire service. Although she was polite, it felt very forced and she did a pore job of explaining the specials or really anything on the menu. She told us their Tuesday Wine Specials, and once she realized we weren t going to be spending an extra $100 on a bottle of wine, she became even more scarce. We watched her tend to other tables around us that seemed more worth her time. She never checked on us or asked if the food was okay. Our food was excellent and it always is, but the service was quite sad. We were celebrating my birthday and she made it feel quite average.

First off, the food was amazing. We didnt know what to expect when we went in and it wasnt really what we were looking for as far as seating options. Other than outdoor seating (that was not non-smoking) it was all small, high tables and the bar. We had to sit outside in the smoke. I probably wont go back but if the atmosphere is your style the food is very good! Kid-friendliness: Not kid-friendly, wouldnt take kids here.

Best restaurant in Amarillo by far. The elk is fantastic and their tuna tartare is really tasty. The atmosphere was very nice but the one time we went we sat towards the back of the dining room and it was very loud and echoey in the tiny space, some sound paneling would help. I wish they did online reservations. Parking is very limited as you are not parking in the large parking lot that the restaurant is connected to but the alley behind the restaurant which is very strange. Parking: Parking is not in the large parking lot the restaurant is connected to but over the wooden fence in the alley next to the parking lot. I did not realize this the first time I went and Im glad I did not get towed.

My coworker and I decided to have dinner at OHMS and made a last minute reservation for 6pm. We were able to get a table and were impressed with the menu. We split the Tuna Tartare (forgot to take a pic) and it was delicious. The tuna was fresh and tasted phenomenal with the sauce and fresh greens. I ordered the grilled ribeye and it came with broccoli and baked Mac and cheese. The steak was delicious but a little more fatty than a regular ribeye. The butter that was topped over the steak was absolutely delicious and paired well with the steak. I look forward to visiting again the next time Im in Amarillo.

O.H.M.S. is an upscale yet unpretentious spot for American dishes and some ethnic-inspired fare. On our last visit we didnt make a reservation on a Friday night and were told itd be a two-hour wait for walk-ins. However, we were told the bar offers the full menu and then found a seat immediately. Despite being a busy weekend night we had great service at the bar. I ordered the Beef Filet au Poivre and my partner got the Merluza Fillet. We split the Fried Egg Salad as an appetizer and finished with a Crème Brulee. The egg salad really stood out to me, and my steak was cooked perfectly. Our bartender Jake recommended a merlot that paired great with the beef. Great experience overall. O.H.M.S. is a great spot for date night, special occasions, or just because. Id encourage reservations if you need a more intimate experience, but the bar was great for us. Dietary restrictions: The menu says that most items can be made gluten-free and to ask about accommodations for other dietary restrictions. Parking: Parking is restricted to the alleyway for lunch, but the atrium parking is open for dinner time. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a step down at the entrance so Im not sure if theres an accessible ramp somewhere else on the building.

This place was okay. We made dinner reservations to celebrate a birthday and the two Caucasian women at the host stand were Not welcoming at all. As soon as we walked in, they only focused on the birthday cake we bought in with us and automatically told us there would be a $25 birthday fee. Then stared at us to see if we were going to cancel our reservations because of the fee. The environment was not laid back, it was only made up of wealthy individuals competing amongst each other. The lighting was too dim and the medium well done ribeye we received was huge & tough to cut into. Our waiter Cameron rushed the birthday celebration and we did not get to take pictures of the birthday cake with the candles lit. He also kept rudely staring at us, as if we were going to leave without paying. Unfortunately that waiter received a good tip which he did not deserve, by another person that was not paying attention to their actions. I hope O.H.M.S Cafe & Bar learns to be more welcoming to everyone and not just to certain people. Until then I will not be returning to this restaurant.

DONT RECOMMEND! I went for my dads birthday, It was the 1st time we have ever ben to this restaurant and it will definitely be my last.. It was a terrible experience.. 1st of all we walked through the door and we didnt know where to go, It was very confusing especially when the host isnt there to greet you. The real big issue with me was there was NO VEGAN OPTIONS! I looked over the menu and was very upset that there was NOT A MEAL FOR ME! I literally had to order a side salad with nothing on it so it was just lettuce.. It was so upsetting watching my family eat while I was eating lettuce!! After eating I was STARVING!! I literally had to GO HOME AND COOK ME MY OWN MEAL AT HOME!! What a huge DISAPPOINTMENT LEAVING A RESTAURANT STARVING!! Who wants to go to a restaurant with their family and not have options for everybody in the family! Its more than disappointing that a chef can even prepare a meal for all of his or her guests! Update- After everybody was done eating and we had paid for the meal. I was informed that if I would have read the small print at the bottom of the menu I would have seen that there was a vegan option. This makes me even more frustrated I looked at the menu again. It doesnt even have a vegan option it just says ask your server about vegan options.. it makes me so upset that theres not one meal on the menu in the entrees where a customer could see what theyre ordering!! It makes me feel like this restaurant sees me as fine print on a bottom of a menu do better!!

I loved this place! It had a classy feel, great service, and AMAZING food! I started with a melon Collins to drink and the Sliders of the Day for an appetizer -- French Dip was on the menu that night. For my entree, I had the Elk Tenderloin with mushrooms and herb risotto. We really enjoyed our visit to OHMS and especially because we are both dieting at the moment. The lamb lollipops were divine and so was the elk tenderloin. We asked for any extra sauces on the side and the waiter was very accommodating. I wish there was a little more elk in the dish but thats me being greedy. The risotto was deliciously creamy. I couldnt eat all of it because of my diet, but I wish I could have. We will definitely be back, especially when we can cheat a little more and pair some wine with our meal.

1) Decor - so so . 2) Atmosphere : modern with a touch of charm. Loud. It s definitely a happening restaurant at 6 pm 3) 1st plates: - fruit & cheese plate : Gouda (3/5), blue cheese (4/5), cows milk soaked in wine (4/5) , Brie (3/5), unleavened flat bread , blueberries , grapes , apples. - local mushroom crostini : my girlfriend really liked it, I thought it was ok. Main plates 1) elk tenderloin (3/5) - it was suppose to be medium rare but was much closer to medium well. Definitely more cooked then medium . It was still tender though. 6 ounce or so portion of tenderloin over a bed of risotto which was al dente . Both were too salty . 2) salmon (3/5) : ordered medium and it was well done . Also salty . Brussels were on the crispy side . Beautifully presented . 3) 2 orders of red snapper special : one of the diners said it was too cooked and both stated it was bland . Beautifully presented though . We had a sparkling brut which was closer to semi dry. They poured it all out at once where it would have been better chilled as the sour notes came out as the brut became warmer . It was a 40 dollar bottle. My girlfriend also had a spicy cocktail which wasn t spicy at all so she was a little sad by it . I think if it was not presented well I would have given it only a 2 star as the value was not worth it for the price . I am surprised it is so highly rated . Maybe it was an off day but at this price point it should be consistent . I would have tipped more if the food was better. Service was ok. Price if you were guessing was 275.00 without dessert after a ~ 15 percent tip .

Wow, insanely impressed by this restaurant. So much so that I might buy property in amarillo as I feel it could be sleeper city on the come up. Beef tar tar was delicious rib eye, perfect medium rare, fantastic seer, no bleed out of the meat, best Ive had outside of Florence Italy, and then came dessert and orange almond creme brulee, wow!!! Homerun across the board, also our waitresses name was chaise gentlemen... no joke she showed us her ID. she was lovely, so much personality and great sense of humor. Give her a raise!!!

What a great little spot! Staff was friendly and welcoming. Our server, Abby, did a great job beginning to end. Her wine suggestions were on point. Without being asked, she intentionally paced the dishes coming out for maximum enjoyment. All the dishes we tried were delicious! My lamb was exactly the medium rare I asked for. The wifes Halibut wasnt overcooked as fish so often is. French onion soup? Good! Mushroom crostini? Good! Our entrees? Great! The crispy broccoli appetizer? I wanted to throw it on the ground and roll around in it!!! Nom Nom Nom! Go here.

Such a cool place! Food was plentifully great, service near perfect, appeared very clean and we werent rushed at all. Food is displayed beautifully and menu fancy but is very tasty. Prime rib was huge and delicious. Business/causal dress and call ahead recommended. Dinner begins at 5:30.

The food was phenomenal. We had the elk and lamb. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options for our friends. The food was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The bar was full with plenty of options. If you re coming or in Amarillo I would recommend. Best food I ve eaten in awhile.

We stopped here for a late dinner on our southwest road trip and the food was FANTASTIC! We tried the oysters, sliders of the day, ribeye, and salmon. All were just as good as anything weve eaten in LA, NYC, or Vegas. The service was also very good- Ask for Abby, shes the perfect balance of personable and professional.

Although this is a very fine dining restaurant youre not required to dress in your finest business attire, just come and dine in what youre comfortable in. The food was prepared perfectly, the presentation was beautiful but most importantly the taste was heavenly. Secondly important the staff was awesome! This ranks at one of my top picks of must eateries in the world and I have been to some of the very best.

This place is fantastic. Service was excellent. Our waitress was Chase. She was attentive and knowledgeable. Food was outstanding. We had the beef fillet and the salmon. We finished every bite. Tables were socially distanced and patrons were seated far apart.

We were referred here by a good friend. We decided to give it a try on our 16th anniversary and it didnt disappoint at all. Great staff, service, and food was incredible. Only issue I had was they were sold out of what I wanted originally, but my backup plan was incredible as well. We will be going back.
