First Watch in Allen always has stellar food, a slightly noisy but otherwise pleasant atmosphere, and mediocre service. This particular morning (September 20th, 2024) it was busy, but not packed. We were seated right away. Im not one to look at my watch frequently, but I happened to glance at my watch when we sat down because we had a hard stop to go pick up our children and I wanted to see how much time we had. As we sat there talking, two different waiters passed by. After a full ten minutes, my wife started craning her neck and trying to get someone to come. The manager was apologetic about our wait. It wasnt a huge deal, but its emblematic of the quality of the service. To their credit they gave us 20% off to say sorry. I ordered a seasonal skillet and it was amazing. Goat cheese, brussel sprouts, served with eggs to order over a healthy portion of hash browned potatoes with a bit of bacon. Loved it. My wife had the farmhouse style breakfast hash, which she really loves too. We ordered mimosas, and they were fine. Probably not worth ten bucks a pop, but sadly the dont have the option for a pitcher or carafe. With tax, tip, and one drink each, the two of us ate for about fifty dollars. If we didnt have the discount it would have been a little over $60. No military discount available. Anyway, the overall experience was great. The servers seem overwhelmed and/or distracted, but the food was excellent, and if you dont mind a lot of background noise, the atmosphere is open and cheerful. Definitely recommend. Just be patient - the food is worth the wait. Parking: Even on a busy Friday morning, there was plenty of parking.

Went this morning for breakfast, they gave me the wrong thing but I thought maybe I misread the menu so I ate it. At the end of the meal, the manager comes over with a free order of what I was supposed to get, comped my meal, and gave us a $20 gift card. No one is perfect but they made sure to make it right and even went above and beyond without me having to ask. Thank you!

If you are a large group dont waste your time getting in the waitlist, it is not planned or respected. We got in the waitlist online, got a 20 mins estimate, we got into the location, and waited 40 more minutes (total of 1 hour), many smaller tables arrived after us and they were serviced. Go to Farview Farmers or Cracker Barrel instead.

Good as always! I used to go to the ones in Plano and Frisco, so happy now we have one nearby. I love the ambience here, food and drinks are always delicious. During lunch hours it took a while before we were seated, and our server did not bring us any utensils while our food was already here, we had to ask for them which felt not so right. First time came on a Saturday, super busy, but seemed like no one wanted to work. Food was good. Second time came on a Wednesday at 9am, not busy as all. No host & a few staff waiting or cleaning tables. We stood & sat by the host stand with no greeting for at least 3 minutes. We figured no one wanted to work again, so we left. Staff was plenty close enough to say hello or I ll be right with you.

If I end up paying a $17 for a tiny sandwich and walking out hungry, then you have a serious problem with your food. That roast beef sandwich was not enough for my 6 years old, either cut the price in half or change that sandwich to at least double in size because that thing is disgrace. I owned a restaurant I would be ashamed to serve it, I almost wanted to leave when I got it just didnt have enough time to look for another place to eat which I had to do a little later anyway. Instead of making an unforgettable good sandwich, you made it unforgettably small sandwich, and this one was cheap to make. I will not come back, and I dont recommend the place.

The problematic aspect arose when adding a gratuity, as the suggested 20% tip was calculated based on the combined amount of the bill and the gift card, resulting in a proposed tip of $16. This tactic appears to be a deliberate attempt to encourage customers to provide a higher gratuity, particularly those who may be distracted or in a hurry. Additionally, our server disclosed that the management receives incentives for gift card sales, implying that my bill contributed to this bonus despite me not having purchased or requested a gift card. It is crucial to be aware of this practice employed by the establishment.

Allen NEW Location! Perhaps this IS the reason for the problems. I get it, good help is hard to find! However, upon first visit, we were excited but left disappointed. Never got water, never saw waiter again. Felt rushed! Had 1 slice of French toast 2 eggs 2 slices of bacon; hungry and decided to try you again because I know life happens! This time ordered the same thing except eggs since I discovered theyre NOT PASTURIZED/FREE- I was told I should have been given 2 slices of toast the first time and a ? Mark about the bacon....this time I checked out the workers in the kitchen since I was neat that area....horrified...young girl w red hair repeatedly scratching her head! No gloves! No hair net! No one had gloves or hair nets...never saw hand washing- just going and coming im&out kitchen. Saw another guy standing and thinking w hand over nose or mouth...no gloves, hand washing or net but see him coming out Carrington food! No one at register. I wonder if the HEALTH DEPT would agree with this uncleanness cute little place but workers and customer service need a BIG OVER-HAUL on traning!!!! I went ahead and gave a tip ONLY because I know that the merciful man does good to his/her own soul but I dont have to eat at this location again

We were in town for a work event for the night. We decided to have brunch at First Watch. We sat at the outside bar area. The weathet was perfect for it. I ordered the salmon eggs benedict, and my bf ordered the chickychanga. First we got coffee and OMG! It was really good coffee! Then when the food came, OMG! It was amazing! Got a takeout order from the Allen Tx location. We ordered 2 bacado omelettes. One with no toast and extra greens. Didn t get it right. Both had toast and no extra greens. We got the order to the car and realized they didn t include the pico and sour cream. Went back in and got those only to open the pico and it was all moldy! Also didn t include jelly for the toast and for $3.69 for a iced tea at least fill the cup full and not to the 3/4 a full. Very disappointing all the way around!!

I ve been here a couple of time never really had a great time here, food is good for the most part potatoes seemed a little under cooked and avocado hard as a rock. Honestly, It s always been service for me and every time I ve came here, It s been very underwhelming. When I asked the waitress to top off my coffee, she filled it halfway full and left the canister on the side, making a mess. She also didn t come by and check up on me not to mention, she brought out to you check when the food came out. I would ve let the slide if this was the first time or the only time I ve experienced bad service at a location, but to know that I ve been here a couple times and had the same experience. Ive eaten at this venue for 3 years, and my experiences have been awesome. However, I uncovered what seemed to be a dishonest practice during my payment of the bill at this Allen Texas location. The waiter presented the bill and insisted that an online system was the means of payment. So, I scanned the app, selected 20% tip, and noticed the tip seemed a bit more. So, I studied the bill and realized that the waiter added a gift card to my tab, leading to 50 additional dollars being added to the overall bill. But it was removed in the discount section given the appearance it was corrected. So the customer is satisfied in the moment. However, the hidden issue is when you use the suggested tip in the online app, which most will do to avoid math, the tip amount is increased because even though the waiter showed the $50 discount, they should have removed the item list rather than make it a discount. The individual moat likely knew doing it tjis way would increase their tip outcome if the customer selects the suggestive tip option, which automatically calculate the tip for you. I said it was a bad and intended practice because the waiter insisted on payment via this method while I witnessed others going to the cashier after we paid. First Watch is one of our favorite breakfast venues and a great place for brunch, but we will not be visiting this location again. So, buyers beware.

UPDATE: The newness has worn off. Ordered scrambled eggs. What I got was a yellow blob of hard eggs. My friends eggs were not over medium. Some parts runny, other parts hard. How can that even happen? Service has gone way down. Coffee is still good. FEBRUARY 24TH VISIT: This place is a gem. Great food. The seats are so comfortable. (not a wooden or steel chair that hurts your behind) The service is very good. The coffee is excellent! I love visiting this place. Very noisy, understandably, but not suited for conversational dining unless seating street side where traffic noise and dust makes one feel that the outdoor choice was no better than the inside one. The Frittata Rústica was too dry (i.e. overcooked). The French Toast (and the Floridian variety) left me wondering who synthesized the ingredient portions. Despite acknowledging the special request for yolk firmness in the Salmon Benedict (and it took longer to serve owing to the request), the end result was not aligned with expectations. The salmon should have been sliced thinner too. The scrambled eggs for the Market Hash was done expertly. The prices for the Purple Haze and Kale Tonic were a rip-off. The coffee pot was not refilled.

The place was packed but we were seated with just a short wait. First off our waitress, Astrid, was very pleasant even though the restaurant was full. No stress or pressure from her and she was very happy to accommodate order changes. The food came our way faster than expected with a full house. So happy to have a first watch near by! We love the Plano location. With this place being so new I think a lot of the staff is new as well and still learning the ropes. Food was great though and I m sure this one will run just as smoothly as the Plano one in no time :) my breakfast tacos were great and we will be back.

We dined in at the new first watch in town and had a great experience with Elodie as our server. We ordered the avocado toast, chickichanga, and banana almond granola crunch pancake. To drink we ordered the morning meditation and kale tonic. Both juices tasted very fresh. Everything came out delicious and quickly. We will definitely be returning. Best waffles Ive ever had (sorry mom). Listen, I dont really enjoy brunch but that may have just changed. This place makes extremely good food. My wife got the eggs benedict and she said they were done perfectly. Our waitress was great and the food was even better. By far the best breakfast place around. Brand new location is top notch! We got in right away, we were served quickly by our server, Dill. He was friendly, helpful, and quick! The food was excellent! My husband and daughter got their waffles and it was served with HOT syrup! It made all the difference, delicious! My other daughter and I had their sandwiches and broccoli cheddar soup, which were also full of flavor and perfect for a rainy day! Don t forget to check out the drinks! The purple Haze is our personal favorite! The ambiance is BEAUTIFUL! Metal ceilings, bar, and open kitchen is so nice. Juan, the manager came over to greet us and ask about our experience. He was incredibly personable and kind.

I was so excited when I saw that a First Watch was put in on Stacy Rd! We had such a great experience this morning at brunch, and the service was quick and friendly. My mom said it s the best cup of coffee she s had in a long time! Personally I love the traditional breakfast, but I am always so tempted by the seasonal items too. This was my first time here, and I was wowed. We came in at a busy time, so I was expecting our wait to be long. We only waited five minutes max, and we were the only ushered to a table. the waiter was kind and patient. Plus, we received our food about 15 minutes after we ordered. The food was quality food, and the short wait was worth it. After we recieved our check, we were greeted by the manager Juan. He was kind and welcoming. Everything went smoothly, and I will be glad to go there again.

We have been to this location many times since it opened a few weeks ago. Great food and service. We have also met multiple managers and have always had a pleasant experience. Everyone was sweet. But this location has some work to do to get up to First Watch standards. My breakfast was missing the classic items such as a fruit cup and jelly for toast. Presentation is of upmost importance to me! My plate, at a restaurant, should not look like Im eating at home. The water has a strong chemical scent. I assume its chlorine which is added by the city to clean the water but the amount is too high. Also, somehow my meal came out before others that were sitting there before me. So more work on that front is needed. Lastly, grits need to be improved. The location on Custer has the best grits. Give them a call for assistance. And thats where Ill be eating today.

We were so thrilled to see an Allen location had opened! The new stop hits every note weve come to love from First Watch: comfortable seating, prompt service, best coffee in town, portions that are hearty without being overwhelming, and everything cooked just right. The fact that this location is in a nice cozy corner spot makes it surprisingly easy to get in and out without needing to navigate the maze that the Village can sometimes be, which is a huge plus.

What a wonderful experience I had today at First Watch! Me and my friend Brad were impressed with our waitress Stormy and all the staff that checked up on us. They took great care with my allergy and made sure to mark it in the kitchens with a special pick, which I appreciated a lot. The food was amazing and I even tried something new, the Chikichanga, after debating on getting the eggs Benedict which I knew I would like. Just goes to show trying something new and liking it first bite how good their kitchen is. My friend Brad enjoyed their mixed drinks, a mimosa and spiked lavender haze. Both were good but I would recommend the haze overall. The manager, Juan, even checked up on us with Adam. I think its safe to say this is the jewel of all the locations of First Watch in the DFW area and is a MUST for brunch. Dietary restrictions: Very careful with allergies!

The Salmon Frittata was awesome. The egg and sauce really enhanced the flavor and texture of the salmon. Their combination juice that had beet juice in it was crazy good! I could have drank a gallon of that stuff! It is very wholesome and refreshing...like nothing Ive ever had before!
