I admit, coming with a 4 year old, I was hoping for a playground. No such luck, but there were bathrooms, picnic tables, hitching posts and a railed circular enclosure, as well as a posted map of the trails in the area and adequate unpaved parking. I didnt actually get on the trails, so my rating is for the trail head itself. Parking: Unpaved- gravel and ground.

This trail has a lot of great things going for it, scenery, light difficulty, and pretty well maintained. The bad however is that with it being near a road, there is a ton of litter. It doesnt seem like there is a cleanup method or schedule. Overall though, it is an easy and long hike.

Its takes about 2 miles to get past the buildings and road area but after that the scenery and lake are beautiful.

Almost no trees, no shadow on the trail. The first mile is along the freeway where the small fence between the trail and the road. The trail crosses some water utility and also passes by some farms on the way. The path is not visible and hard to follow. I did like the experience. Dont forget to bring a sunscreen as theres no place to hide from the sun

The beginning of the trail goes to the left along the fence. It took us too long to figure that out. Ample parking for horse trailers at the trail head with the camp ground also close to this location. Bathrooms available as well. Sections of the trail could be muddy after rain, so be prepared. We only did a small portion of the trail and there were several access points to the lake for fishing.

Good hiking , but it needs better trail markers its easy to get off the path. And it needs better cleaning at the end of July there was firecracker remains every where.
