About the Company

rating: 4.0

From our humble start in 2012, Maple Street has always been different. In a world of boring breakfast, we set out to craft scratch-made comfort food, with a modern twist. Our quirky take on comfort food, and a sense of community go well beyond basic. We aim to leave you both full and fulfilled. We promise to bring you fresh-cracked eggs. We promise to bake our biscuits from scratch every day, and never serve you some previously frozen puck of dough. We promise to provide impeccably clean stores, where you can focus on delicious food and those with whom you choose to enjoy it. Like you, our biscuits are a lot of things, but we promise they’ll never be boring.

I wanted to like this restaurant, but it just wasnt there. The food was low quality and the taste was below average. The coffee was weak. It took 20-25 minutes to get food. It was hot but all of our drinks were empty by the time it arrived. I will say the tacos looked the best but there was too much gravy on them. Service was slow and seemed lost on what to do. Due to so few customers, the atmosphere was dead. I will say the place appeared clean, though sticky on the tables. Probably wont be back unless some changes are made. I normally dont complain about pricing, but a $7.00 kids meal for a plain (no jam or gravy) biscuit cut in half with one strip of bacon (thin and cut in half to appear as two) plus a juicebox is a little steep.

2nd review in 1 month.same topic. You did it again!!! You put the bacon on top of the grits this time and then covered it with cheese. I told the person twice to put the bacon on the side. By the time I get it home its limp !!! My wife wouldnt eat it. For those who read this they dont care about your food there. You get what you get!!! No favors!!! No crisp bacon !!! Always something wrong. Then the owner writes and says hell make it up to you. Never does !!! Try the country club Cafe on country club rd in wyle. Bacon perfect !!! Nice people. And they have great cobbler.

We have tried this place many times in Wylie and in the beginning it was great. The last several times have been mediocre at best. At this price point you expect good food. We have experienced whataburger with a price tag. The biscuits have been dry and breaking in half. The eggs look like are thrown on the biscuits and draping over the side with the crunchy ring on the edge. Now let s talk about the service. In the beginning it was awesome but has quickly declined. It s not uncommon to wait for your food for an hour. This has happened twice and we finally got our money back and left. The last time we ordered a coffee and asked several times when it was coming, we got I m sorry we are short staffed . Seems to be a consistent response lately. They finally brought our coffee after we were done eating and asked for a refund. The lady at the register seems put out with customers and can t explain anything on the menu, but the lady bringing our food has always been great. Needless to say, we won t be back and you might consider places like whataburger or McDonald s to get the same food quality and customer service but lower price point.

I usually enjoy eating at Maple Street Biscuit Co. and have had consistently good experiences in the past. The food is generally tasty, and the service is great. However, today was a huge disappointment. I ordered waffles and chicken on my way to work, but the waffles were gummy, and the chicken was half-cooked with wet batter. Unfortunately, I didn t notice until I had already started eating, and it left me with an awful stomach ache. This was a very unpleasant experience, especially compared to what I m used to from this place.

I gave this place 4 good attempts and each has been disappointing. Getting eggs made to order here has been a challenge for this location every visit. I ask for over medium and get over hard every time. I was hoping they would find their groove but it has yet to gel. The service is inconsistent at best. Most of the time the staff at the restaurant feels understaffed and overwhelmed. During a recent holiday, the wait for my dine-in order was over just an hour. The inconsistency of getting an order correct and feeling the staffs frustrations with the situation they are in makes this dining experience one I will not return to unless there is a sea change in how they are managed. The positives are that the flavor of the hash browns, spicy gravy, and coffee are in good order. If I return and the place has improved Ill edit my review.

We went this past Sunday. It was about noon when we arrived and ordered. There were 3 adults 2 kids. After 30min and seeing the two tables beside us with no food we asked how long they had been waiting. Both said over an hour...I went to the counter to ask how much longer, was told another 30min. There was food sitting on the counter for a know over 20min. They were more concerned with making lemonade than getting food out. We also had to clean our table which we have had to do every time we have gone. They did not seem to concerned and were telling people at the door they are short staffed and it would be over an hour wait for food. We got a refund and left. They will not be in business in wylie for long if this doesnt change quickly.

Very long wait on a Sunday morning at the Wylie location. Possibly understaffed and unorganized in the kitchen. Looked like no urgency in the kitchen to prepare food to get out?? Food was cold to barely warm from sitting on the shelf too long. Only 1 person running food out. Not worth the wait and price for food after 45 wait for food that arrived to our table. It appears according to past reviews, this is an ongoing issue for this location. Location needs a manager to train staff over operations.

Wanted to eat in but no tables available so ordered to go. While we waited 35 minutes for our order we watched the kitchen. Absolutely no communication between the staff I think they have a logistics issue to work out and need to communicate with each other. Ordered 2 hash bowls. Pretty sure thier was no bacon also biscuits and gravy (v) minus the kick still had the kick. Overall the food was OK but after watching the kitchen in action not sure I will be going back at least no on a Sunday at noon.

Wife, Son and I came here, for what we got I definitely feel we overpaid. A glorified waffle/biscuit place with prices worse than Starbucks, $3.50 for refillable (carafe) coffee $6.00 for a small glass of (Squeezed-OJ) $12.50 for a plate of biscuits and gravy $13.99 for 5 chicken tenders and half a full sized waffle. End price of our meal was $71.90 Meanwhile the actual value was more like $35. Be warned you ll spend $50 here like nothing. This is not Waffle House.

My first time here and I was excited to try it. However, I was more than disappointed. I was expecting to get fresh spinach with my meal. Instead it looked and tasted like the stuff you get from the frozen section at the grocery store. The goat cheese was not as creamy as Im use to and was a little on the old side. Both my egg and my husbands was over cooked. My husband was expecting to get what everyone knows as chicken fried steak on a plate with a side of biscuits and gravy. What he got was a fried chicken strip with gravy on a biscuit. Again not worth the price. And then there was the biscuits. The ones we received with the biscuits and gravy were rock hard on the outside. I really could not cut into with the fork. The ones that were presented with the other dishes, not so hard but also not that great. Not all was bad though The young gentleman at the order station was very polite and nicely spoken as well as the young lady that brought our food. She had an amazingly warm and bright smile with an accent to match. If youre into everything fried, greasy, over cooked, and smothered in gravy that is thick as mud. This is definitely your sweet spot.

We finally made it to try breakfast this morning! We arrived around 9:30, and found parking easily. There were a few people in front of us and a few people lined up behind us by the time we ordered. We placed our order at then found a seat. It s a rather small dining area, and the tables are close together, but there were multiple tables available - there s also outdoor seating. We didn t have to wait but maybe 5-7 minutes for our food. We ordered more than we normally would just to try some different things. We ordered the squawking goat and five and some chicken biscuits, the retro taco, and the cremini and spinach taco. We also ordered two fresh squeezed orange juices and a maple vanilla iced latte. We started with the tacos. The retro taco was egg, sausage, cheese, potato, and sour cream. We added the salsa that came with it and it was pretty good. Neither of us cared for the cremini and spinach taco - there were far too many mushrooms and the flavor was very strong, and we like mushrooms. The squawkin goat chicken biscuit was served with goat cheese and hot pepper jelly. The piece of chicken was giant and the goat cheese smushed out when we cut it in half. This was a good balance of salty and sweet, and the chicken itself was very good, not dry, crispy. I typically prefer light and fluffy biscuits, but these southern style biscuits are dense and buttery and were pretty tasty. We also had the five and dime biscuit which included an egg (we ordered over hard), fried chicken, bacon, sausage gravy, and oh my gosh was it tasty! The fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious as expected, i would ve liked it a bit colder, but it was good. The maple vanilla latte was a bit too milky, but had a good flavor. Overall a good experience, good food, quick service, and we re likely to return soon!

We visited last week and the food was just as good as we remembered. Our visit was made even better by the manager, Kiki, and the other staff. We had the biscuits & gravy, fried green tomatoes and the chocolate chip biscuits. Kiki shared what her favorite dish is, let us sample the jelly and checked with us a couple of times to make sure we were doing ok. I would highly recommend Maple Street Biscuit Company Wylie for breakfast, brunch or lunch - you will be surprised by their unique menu and delicious food!

0/10 stars. I came after seeing the place on social media with hopes of taking my younger cousin out to a nice birthday breakfast. Drove about 30-40 minutes You get here, you have to order at the counter then go sit and wait for your food. All 3 of us ordered a Five & Dime biscuit, which comes in either country fried chicken or country fried steak. The cashier never asked which one we wanted (we wanted the steak), he automatically had the kitchen start prepping chicken. We were served our drinks separately (my cousin and her boyfriend got a lemonade - came with ice) & I got an orange juice (came extremely hot with no ice) When I asked for ice the man told me to go get my own ice from the fountain drink stand. When we finally got our food 30 minutes later, 2/3 of our plates had hair in them. No proper apologies from the manager, she doesn t really seem to care. Luckily she did refund us. Won t be coming back. The 1/3 of us who did eat our food, felt immediately sick after leaving.

Perfectly baked biscuit with spinach, egg (cooked any way you like it) and goat cheese with a very yummy pepper jelly sauce. Definitely not your traditional biscuit sandwich...youll need the fork and knife. If you like goat chees this sandwich is fantastic. Also tried the Retro with biscuits and gravy. When we asked for the refund it looked like the manager was about to argue with us till we said how long we waited. This is a counter serve type restaurant, the tables are pretty close together and the air vents were blowing cold on us the entire time. The wait for the food took a really long time. We ordered multiple items to try. The retro tacos were ok, but kind of tasted like something we would make at home. The biscuits and gravy, was delicious, but definitely has a kick, just be prepared for that. The smashbrowns also were good, they tasted a bit like hush puppies, really well seasoned. I got one of the sweet biscuits, I forget what it s called but it s cinnamon, chocolate chips and icing. It tasted old or burnt. It was very hard along the edges, and I couldn t detect the cinnamon. All of our food got cold in record time because the air vents were blowing so hard. No body really ate their eggs after a minute .

I eat here just about every other day now, thanks to the amazing cuisine and ease of getting in and out. The employees at the Wylie, TX location are absolutely amazing! They get up early and get to work to make everything by scratch so that us patrons can enjoy a wonderful plethora of great breakfast meals. The nicest of all these employees hands down has to be Lydia and her Co worker and friend Carly. I hope I spelled these names correctly? These two gals go above and beyond to make sure every guest is treated like a VIP or a member of their family. Cause thats what I feel like when I dine here, family. Heck, some days I walk in with my house shoes still on. The manager Kiki is so kind and professional throughout out. She works exceptionally hard to ensure everyone both employees and guests are taken care of. The Maple Street Biscuit Company is a perfect destination for a great breakfast or start to your day. I hear they even have lunch items too. Try the chicken and waffles you wont be disappointed. I typically get the Eggstreme Biscuits and Gravy. Its all anyone ever needs to start the day out right. Do yourself a favor and get you and your family and friends down to Wylies new quick and easy breakfast spot. The people and the food are second to none. We love Maple Biscuit Company! p.s. Karens need not try this place, because they and I dont have time for your negativity and unrealistic expectations of your entitled behaviors. Check your attitudes at the door, and be grateful for the amazing service and food available to you now.

This is our first time trying this place and we got the order take out. We ordered the Retro Plate and the Keto Bowl. Also note, this is mostly subjective; your experience may be different. What we liked: Wonderful variety of flavors and items to choose from that differ from the norm Who knew I would like savory mushrooms for breakfast? Nice location Fast service, polite crew What we were not thrilled with (in no order): Expensive overall but also to note, the Retro plate says it comes with your choice of jelly or gravy, then you scroll down and the gravy actually costs an additional $2.25 for a miniscule amount. That seemed a bit misleading to us. It was delicious though! The portions were quite small and the to go containers were unnecessarily enormous. The Keto Bowl was supposed to have goat cheese on top but I only found 2 tiny little chunks of it. The scrambled eggs seemed artificial and if you like fluffy eggs, I do not recommend. They were dry, flat, and had way too much pepper on them. They looked like dirt was mixed in while cooking tbh. All in all, we probably won t be back but everyone should try it at least once.

Imagine walking into a restaurant for lunch only to be walking out an hour later still hungry and highly disappointed. This is exactly what happened to me today. Luis and I went to a new restaurant for lunch and ordered our food at 12:15. When 1 o clock rolled around and we still didn t have any food I went to the cashier for a refund. Only to deal with a manager (KeKe) that obviously did not give two craps about her customers or the service that we received. When she gave me a receipt for a refund and it clearly showed $0.00 on it, she was truly offended when I told her I wanted to receipt that had the actual dollar amount of the food that we just paid for which was a whopping $61.67; for two lunches! She then proceeded to tell me that she didn t have a receipt that had our total on it because she had to void out each individual item. Then she decided to turn her computer screen around and tell me that she was going to show me the software that she uses. I clearly let her know at that point that I did not care about her software. Then I asked her to put the total on the back of the receipt and sign it. Because I had literally no confirmation of what the amount was. Especially since I was not given any receipt when we originally placed the order either. This manager did not care that we did not get our food. She did not care that we were not the only ones walking out of her restaurant. She did not care that we were not the only ones asking for a refund on our food. She made that obvious with her snide comments, and the fact that her only reason behind this happening was the fact that they we re making online orders a priority over the individuals that were sitting in the restaurant who had already paid for and were waiting for their food. When I did say that online order should not take precedent over customers in the store, she corrected me and said that is not how it works. Then, when I said that the orders should be filled in the order they were received, she corrected me on that as well and said that is not how it works. This is not a restaurant that we will berevisiting. I would like to say that it appears to be growing pains since the restaurant just opened. But I think it is obvious that it is the management that is the issue here. Because the kitchen was full with well over 15 people. And under solid management, it should ve been running much better than it was.

Excellent Place for Breakfast/Brunch! Had the Five and Dime biscuit sandwich and it lived up to the hype. The Cold brew with vanilla cream was good as well. We will def be returning here for more. Highly recommend this place. The staff was friendly and Keke, the one in charge was super friendly and made sure everything was on point!

Exceptional, delicious, wonderfully surprising! The diverse menu has options for every taste bud, kids included. Our meal legitimately felt inspired, with lots of love. I don t swoon over restaurants often but Maple Street Biscuit deserves it. The biscuits were perfect texture, the jams bright and delightful, the waffles crisp and fluffy. The grits best of all time? Great grits is hard to pull off and their recipe here is divine. The drip coffee options are plenty (I loved the maple and light roast varieties) and they actually brew a great drip which many places neglect to do. Balanced flavors, and each brew shines with its unique profile. Condiments included sugar, half half and a cold vanilla cream - yum! The staff had wonderful smiles, the kitchen looked busy but organized, and the vibe on a Saturday morning was just right. We will be coming back often, don t skip this place - you will miss out. Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu that doesn t spit out fried foods on top of fried foods. Kids are sometimes picky and ours cleaned up their chocolate waffles with whipped cream and strawberries!

While the atmosphere is decent , a little on the crowded side, the staff friendly, theres a lot going on which makes it a tad difficult to hear anything, but they prices vs the food amounts is something that needs work, to small a portion for to large a price especially the tacos when you can spend less and get more on a McDonalds taco or Whataburger breakfast menu. I highly highly doubt a return visit from myself and my family. Good luck.

All I can say is WOW!!! I was just driving by looking for a place to eat this morning, and I came across Maple Street Biscuit Company. It looks like it s their first day open (Grand Opening) and it was packed to the brim with people! It smelled like a heavenly mix of bacon, spices, and sweet maple syrup. I ordered the Five and Dime and whoa! Savory and filling with a flavorful chicken breast with sausage gravy with a kick . It s nice and comforting when you step in and you re automatically greeted by the Ambassadors . I will be back for sure. If you re on the fence about visiting this location, this is your sign to go experience it yourself!

Opening DAY! Staff was super friendly . I was number 27 in line. Ordered to go, waited 24 minutes for the Retro breakfast, 1 dozen Biscuits. The Retro Breakfast is 2 eggs made any style, bacon, smashbrowns and a biscuit with either Gravy or jam- I chose Gravy. I only wish I got gravy

Full disclosure Today is this locations soft opening. I went around 11 a.m. this morning. This place has a well laid out design and plenty of dining space. There were two other diners and what appeared to be interviews going on. I was greeted and was given a menu along with an offer to assist on the menu. I ordered the Five and Dime fried chicken biscuit w/o bacon w/ scrambled egg and veggie gravy. I also ordered the Five and Dime chicken fried steak w/o bacon and w/scrambled egg and veggie gravy. I also ordered the Smashbrowns family size. Pros: Fried chicken was cooked perfectly and had nice flavor. Veggie gravy (Mushroom) has decent flavor. Cons: Biscuits are very small for the $12.95 price point. Pillsbury Grand biscuits are larger in comparison and both the chicken and steak dont fit. Biscuit broke up after 2 bites. Had to finish the chicken on its own. Chicken fried steak was tough and breading was left behind after first bite. Biscuit broke apart on that as well. Family size Smashbrowns are a 4 count and for almost $5 not worth it. Veggie gravy (Mushroom) warm but way too thick. I really wanted to like this place and again, today was a soft opening, but Maple St Biscuit just didnt do it for my myself nor my wife.
