I love this restaurant, its always filled with a great staff and a great atmosphere. Its a smaller building so it can get filled up fast, but good food will do that. They have a good selection of items and Im a fan of most of it, but my favorite is the chili rellanos. And the dessert is great as well. Love great local food, give this place a try.

Always one of our favorite places to eat for authentic Mexican food. The barbacoa and menudo always hit the spot. We dined out today and ordered 1lb of barbacoa and a large menudo. Fed 2 adults and a 6yo. Could have used more corn tortillas but we usually eat in and know for next time. Plenty of Cilantro onions limes and 2 salsas for toppings. Will always recommend Chelos to anyone wanting a great meal.

Recently moved to Wolfforth and decided to give this place a try, and on my birthday! We decided to do take out and had huge regrets. Very small portions and had to pay for chips and salsa. Paid for the large and the salsa portion was small and inedible. I got the chicken enchiladas and can honestly say this is my first time having enchiladas without cheese on the inside. This could ve been my own mistake for not asking, but this was super disappointing and made for a dry meal. My husband had the quesadilla and it was small and had no beef but plenty of bell peppers and onions. Did not look appetizing. Also had the chimi cheesecake which I ve loved at many other restaurants but was not a fan of it being drenched in honey. Ended up not eating it. Based on other reviews, it may be better to eat inside if you have the time. We were hopeful since it is close by but we won t be back!

The food is great, but be careful, they add extra gratuity. Wound up paying $94 for lunch for 2 adults and a child. How? I dont mind the high price of the food, because its great - but they snuck a gratuity on there We had a party of 5 - two of our friends were with us and they were paying separately. When they ran my card, I did not notice that they had added gratuity to the table (of 5) So I added 20% to the total (which already had 18% gratuity) so I tipped on the tip LOL There is also a fee for paying by credit card. So over 40% was added that day. The food is good, but that was likely my last visit to Chelos. Edit: after the owners response below - it sounds like the policy of 18% on tables of 6, may apply to tables of 5 also. We should be able to trust those who feed us.

Waitress was very unfriendly and not wanting to service us after telling her co worker. We didn t appreciate that attitude at all. So we didn t get to taste the food and will not return. Wow what a 1st impression not great or good at all. Would not recommend . No bad vibes only from waitress. Plus my husband was not confused as much as your waitress was. I feel walking out of establishment is a lot better than being treated disrespectful in your establishment.

Came for breakfast with my dad. Love the food, and the atmosphere is awesome. The menudo is the best Ive had. My dad usually complains, but he actually liked this place. Breakfast burritos are so good. They sell mugs, so ended up buying two really cool ones. Highly recommended!

Best authentic Mexican food in the Lubbock area. I had the mole and it was really good. My bf had the carne asada and it was tender. Menudo looked amazing and is definitely what I will try next visit. The hotchata was just right, sometimes you get pure sugar, not this one! Definitely recommend!

This has got to be one of the best restaurants in Wolfforth. The service was amazing. They were extremely kind and very attentive to our table. The food was even better! We ordered fajitas, flautas, and the chicken quesadilla deluxe and we wished we had bigger stomachs. It was all very reasonably priced as well. This is definitely our new favorite Mexican restaurant near Lubbock and we will be back many times!

I was quoted on the phone $37.50 for platter of 25 street tacos, placed the order for 3 platters, was told I didn t need to pay until the day I picked them up which was Christmas Eve, my husband picked them up and the price had increased to $54.05 a platter, paid $162.12 for cold, soggy tacos. For this reason I will never give them another try, very shady way to do business!! We should have been charged the price we were told when we placed the order!!

Hands down best chips and salsa in all of Lubbock and surrounding areas! Most authentic food Ive had. Wonderful flavor. Great quality. But it seems like the portions have gotten smaller. I work hard on not over eating. But choose healthy portions. Normally I walk away satisfied. The last few times the portions left me still feeling hungry. But I eat very few chips, only because I watch carbs. They are so good though.

walked in and heard a you male employee talking about the customers and how he hated a group of ppl that was there, if that wasnt enough the senior lady in the establishment was treating a couple of employees like garbage constantly berating them along with that the tips they are left they cant keep but must go into a pot for everyone to divide. I couldnt believe that all this was being openly discussed for all to hear. The food was ok, I was however bothered by what I heard and will not support an establishment that operates like this. If I tip a waitress my tip is for her not the building fund!

They dont have a very broad menu, its a bit pricey for the portion size of the entrees. 2 Chile rellenos plain with a about a table spoon of rice and beans was almost $13.00. The enchiladas plate was not very good and it was $10.99 the sauce tastes from the can very tomatoish. Looking over some of the other entrees on the menu were very pricey. They are really friendly its a small place but expanding their building soon. I think they should work on the flavor a little its bland. Plus the portion or prices. The micheladas are delicious there a small is $7.+

Ive been twice, the second time was exponentially better. I had lengua and asada tacos, which were what I expect whenever I order a taco of either. They also offered two types of salsa the second time and mixed together were phenomenal. Theres only one other taqueria with better asada tacos but the lengua was much better the second time around. Drinks were great, especially if you are looking for value.

We went to this Restraunt for the first time on Sunday. I was very disappointed in the pork street tacos. The meat was very little and it was shredded and dry. I had read the good reviews but not what I thought it was going to be . Also we ordered a large guacamole appetizer and it was small plate with just a small amount of avocado . Still a much better drink than Ive paid more for worse elsewhere... Everything food wise was EXCELLENT! Im now to living in Lubbock... Easy top 3 with Arandas, Montelongos, and Chelos. My carne asada wand enchiladas were cooked just right, fresh, and shhhh from the chips to the frijoles were cooked with the right kinds of fat\grease. Very refreshing and lite on what should be and so savory and rich for everything else. The quality of ingredients was great as well. Standards are so low at this place. Chips were broken. Beans and Rice were cold and minimal in portions. Ordered a fajita plate chicken was dry, beef was chewy, pork chop was very dry (pre cooked and refried in a deep fryer) The only thing good about the plate was chorizo. My wife s Chili Rellenos plate was an absolute mess taste bland. The only good thing was the food was out in about 10 min but that meant the meat was not cooked per order more than likely prepared before hand and warmed up. Heard microwave going off multiple times in the back so, they are using shortcuts for sure. That meal was expensive as well over $50 for two adults and a child plate.

First time to eat here, thanks to Facebook LBK Foodies group. We loved everything! The shrimp cocktail was fantastic, hot sauce was full of flavor, queso was great, the burrito supreme was delicious! Service was exceptional and our server was very detal oriented. My new favorite place to eat!
