This is a hidden gem in the middle of Wichita Falls. The location is not very prominent and is not overly impressive from the outside, but it is very quaint inside with flowers on the tables and a nice, clean, open interior and friendly service. The food has been delicious so far. We have not tried anything but the tacos off the Mexican menu. We all agreed that the chicken was a favorite. They are similar to the street taco style with a soft tortilla and cilantro. On the Puerto Rican menu, the Pernil was fantastic. It was very tender and flavorful without overusing spices. The pastelillos con carne were very tasty but rather empty compared to the size of pastry. It was a perfect side option to fill with any meat, rice, beans, or salad you might have from the rest of your order, however. You cant go wrong with any of the bean and rice options, either. The jibaritos are a type of sandwich using tostones instead of bread. We tried the bistec, and it was so filling that we needed to split it. I would love to try the pollo next time. The cheese flan or tembleque with a coffee is a nice finish if you still have room for more. I would highly recommend giving it a try for something a little different than the standard Mexican restaurants if you are looking to branch out. Or if you know you like Puerto Rican, it is a great option for this area. We definitely plan to return to try more.

Best Spanish/Mexican in Wichita Falls by a mile. The chips and also were spicy and flavorful. The green salsa was brought out quickly by a wonderful waitress who was very friendly. Our drink orders were taken within a few minutes and brought out promptly. We ordered tostones and they were savory, crispy, and seasoned well. my wife got the taco plate (carne, el pastor, and barbacoa) each was better than the last. The rice and beans were as expected, delicious. My son has the Cubano. It was as authentic as if we were in Miami, and an empanadillas. It was fried to perfection and the meat (ground beef) was so tasty I almost ordered another for myself. I had the carne asada torta. The bread was soft and buttery with perfectly cooked crispy carne and enough sauce and veg to really round it out. Next I had a lengua taco. The meat was so tender and delicious. They really know what they are doing. Finally, my wife wouldnt consider it a solid outing without some horchata. It was rich and spiced just enough. If you cant tell already, I highly recommend La Fogata. Parking: 20-30 spots. Handicap right by the door.

I just moved to the area and was looking for a place to eat. The place was small and kinda hidden, due to me not being used to the roads. The place was really clean and the staff was very friendly. The food was really great and i even ordered some more food to go. I would recommend giving this place a try. I will be going here again.

5 stars all around! From service to food everything was perfect. My in laws are from Puerto Rico and said the food was very authentic and tasty!! The staff is beyond friendly and makes you feel so comfortable and like you re family. I love this place so much and hope it sticks around for a very long time. We were passing through and looked for a place for lunch. Was with my family. 3 out of thr 4 of us ordered Puerto Rican food and the other Mexican. Everything came in a timely manner, service was great and food was delicious. We had the tripletas, plantains, beans and rice, pernil and chicken fajitas. The chef even came out to talk and ask how things were, very friendly and highly recommended.

Excellent food and service! If youre local or passing through, try it out. Earlier this week had lunch on my own (Chicharron de Pollo) and brought the family today. The Cubano with fried plantains was outstanding (in the pic youll see I already ate some)! Clean place, very friendly.

Food was authentic and tasted amazing. We came in for lunch after leaving the Mexican grocery store and were instantly excited after reading the menu. We ordered Pernil, Mofongo, guacamole and steak tacos. Everyone was happy with their meal. The people were great and friendly. The chef in the back we gave kudos too and told him we enjoyed every bite. This is a great restaurant in this area because there are not a lot of well known authentic spots. I ll definitely be back.

Food was awesome! Ate here 2 days in a row and they didnt miss! Ordered the mofongo con carne frita.. best Ive had in a while! The flan to finish it off was the icing on the cake If youre looking for amazing authentic Puerto Rican food this is the place! I used to have to go to dfw to get any but thank God this place now exists! Very good customer service! Sweet friendly staff!

La Fogata, a new Mexican restaurant in Wichita Falls, Texas that makes some of the best Puerto Rican food Ive had in a long time. Im from Puerto Rico. The pernil and tostones are on dang point while washed down by a nice malt drink that made me homesick.... The young ladies who served us were very kind, attentive, and amazing servers that were super busy!
