I really like that they throw in pickles with your order. Most places dont do that anymore. This place just wasnt for me. The food wasnt bad, but not to my personal liking. The only reason Im making a review is to post pictures.

I had high hopes for this place. The reviews do not warrant 4.3 stars. I had the 3 meat plate with ribs, brisket, and turkey. The best thing was the ribs. The covered it with a catchup sauce which should never be on BBQ. However, the sauce was needed for the extremely tasteless and dried out brisket. The best thing I had there was the peperoni peppers. Would not recommend this restaurant.

I liked the meat but the sides from the salad bar leaves a lot to be desired. I only liked the potato salad and I am using liked in a very light sense here. The soda dispensing machine is in the middle of food line between the meat and the sides. If you want a refill and a large party is ordering and picking up their plates on the self service cafeteria counter, good luck with that. Portion sizes are not huge but adequate Vegetarian options: If you are vegetarian, do not even think about dining here. BBQ and vegetarian-ism is not a good match

Stopped in based on reviews and the food was good not great. I ordered the three meat meal. The smoked baloney was very good, but the sausage was dry and the ribs which had a great taste seemed like they had been boiled first to tenderize them. The service was very good staff was friendly and extremely helpful. My spouses chopped beef was tasty and the portions were big. Overall I would recommend them again.

At first just thought this place was going to be a one and done deal, but I just keep coming back, great mom and pop restaurant been in Wichita for 50+ years. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for some good bbq. (I was a pit master for 3 years) high recommended this amazing establishment! Praying over this establishment, God bless!

Meh... this was recommended to me as the best barbecue in town all I can say is that it did not live up to my expectations when someone from Texas tells you its the best barbecue in town you really kind of get your hopes up the brisket tasted just like sliced roast beef at Golden Corral there was no fat rendering to it no bark on it and zero smoke flavor could have been baked in an oven for all I could tell the ribs were about a 3 out of 5 so for my $25 lunch I had two ribs and all of the brisket I could stand which meant I left most of it on my plate

We ate there yesterday. The sausage is plane-jane and just O.K. The smoked turkey was moist, but quite lacking in flavor. The brisket was terrible. It had absolutely no taste and was as dry as dust. It could only be choked down when drenched in sauce. The potato salad needed way more mustard and was gritty. The beans were the only good thing. It was honestly one of the worst BBQ places I have been to. The only reason the review isnt one star is they give you a decent amount and the beans were pretty good. Service was limited, but most of them were fairly friendly. They were out of the cheese and broccoli.

Stopped in the eat and grab a beer, but they had no beer. All beer taps covered up., disappointing. Well they had sweet tea, yuck, it was so nasty. The people there were sweet and the waitress brought me a sweet tea to go but i had to pour it out, it was so nasty. FOOD- I had combo plate and my wife had brisket. The food was good but nothing special. I could have gotten better back in Louisiana, but the food was over all not bad.

The Briscut was very good, but the sauce was too spicy. The broccoli with cheese was only stems and not so good. The fries were over cooked soggy. The coleslaw had no flavor and was dry. The amount of food you get was great. The quality other than the Briscut not so good. The pie was good. The only thing I would order again is the Briscut.

I m visiting my sister here in Wichita Falls & she raves about the Branding Iron. So we go there for lunch today (4/26/24). It was a big let down. She has the chopped beef and I had the ribs. She has fries and I had the pea salad and we both had the coleslaw The ribs were dry but flavorful, though I shouldn t have to use barbecue sauce. The chopped beef was bland. The coleslaw was so watered down that it had no flavor whatsoever. The peas were just as watery and bland. The fries were okay, even if soggy. Overall, we were Both disappointed with the quality of the food. It didn t live up to the hype.

This is a long time Wichita Falls favorite that consistently serves up really good food with great service. Their various barbeque offerings and similar meats are very tasty and well priced. Their vegetables are pretty basic backyard barbecue staples, but they are good. It is so enjoyable to go there and be able to have really good food served by people who treat you as a neighbor for a very fair price.

I asked a bailiff at the courthouse if there was a good BBQ place in town. He recommended this place. I feel sorry for Wichita Fallas. Brisket and Ribs were horrible. Ribs had no bark and no flavor. The brisket was so dry that it crumbled. I don t know how in good conscience they could sell it. It had no flavor. Sausage was fair. Sides ok. Price was cheap, $18 something. I didn t like when I put it on my card, the cashier asked if I wanted to leave a tip and how much. It puts you in a bad spot. I left 20% plus anyways. Very disappointing . I feel sorry for Wichita Falls if this is their best BBQ. I ate very little of the meat. I didn t bother getting a to go box.

I really, REALLY want to love this place. The staff are so kind and down to earth. They make the best smoked sausage I have ever eaten. The portions are very generous and the cost is good. Sadly, every single time I have come here, although tender, the other meats (ribs, brisket) are extremely dry and bare very little flavor... Ive been in Wichita Falls for the last 9 months and everyone keeps telling me you have to try Branding Iron, I waited in a long line in Jan and after 30 minutes wasnt any closer to getting in so I left. Today I went in to try it and was completely disappointed!! the Meat was just a tad above cold I wouldnt exactly say warm, the barbecue sauce tasted like water down ketchup with vinegar added the Cole slaw seemed like chopped cabbage with milk on it (tasteless). Being from Wisconsin I had high hopes, but this experience has convinced me to not return!

I dont typically leave reviews but I had to. I could not believe this place was rated so highly. The employees are very nice but when you walk in everything is quite dirty. You could see dust bunnies on everything in there. Even the lights above the grills...the BBQ sauce had no flavor tasted sour. The meats were dry with no flavor not even salt! I had brisket and turkey and I got beans and fries. Fries were soggy, beans had no flavor at all. Do not recommend.

This place catered my wedding in 2001 & the food was phenomenal!! We ate there often & always brought our out of town guests for a great TX BBQ dinner. I guess there are new owners, a couple weeks ago we ate there & the sliced brisket was mush & the smoked turkey & hot links were dry. The BBQ sauce tasted like vinegar. Overall it was disgusting, I paid $20 & was only able to eat / enjoy the pea salad & tea even the fried okra was old & rubbery. Usually I enjoy this place, but today something seemed off when it came time to pay. We were charged almost $49 for two combo plates and one iced tea, (including a charge for using our credit card!). I assumed that reflected higher food prices. When we got home, I checked their websites menu. Combo plates are $13.99 each with 2 sides and toast. If my calculations are correct, the total should have been around $35. Why did they overcharge me $15.00!!! It looks like we were charged extra for our sides? If we ever go there again, we will be more vigilant of what they are charging us.

For really good barbecue you cant beat The Branding Iron you can forget the chain outfits like Rib Crib and Dickeys Barbecue Pit and the rest. Their sides are always good too but the meat is Bar None super. The building is not much to look at and not a place I would pick if I was driving by. But on our road trip I found this place on Google and exited the interstate to check it out. Glad I did. Great BBQ! Always a great meal. Wonderful choice of pies (lemon, chocolate, and coconut cream). Even have a nice draft beer choice.

What can I say but wow! I had the three meat combo with hot links and double ribs, the ribs were fall off the bone and the links, oh man, they were out of this world with smokey spice. When in Wichita Falls make sure you check this place out it s so worth it!

Decent place to eat but not impressive. The brisket was dry and flavorless. The ribs were pretty good and probably my favorite. But the pinto beans were the best Ive had anywhere.

Complete waste of time and money. I ordered sliced beef brisket got some beef jerky. It was dry like TX weather, no flavor, tenderness. Same goes with smoked turkeys. Dickey s bbq is better this place. I wouldn t recommend it to anyone who loves brisket.
